Pretty good story

This is the second book in the series and I liked the first one better. In this book the main character Noah has to protect a singer from a stalker and his efforts are hindered by the singer's secrets and a past she is reluctant to reveal. Of course they become involved and the suspects are numerous. There is plenty of action and the characters are believable and likeable. I liked the ending, knowing Noah would not be permanently involved with this woman. In this book his musical background comes in handy and his dog once again charmed and delighted me.

Houston, TX. Chief (Houston PD Homicide) informed Detective Noah Daugherty (widower, Houston PD Homicide) & Detective Conner Crawford (Houston PD Homicide partner) they were going undercover to catch a stalker who had his eyes on a female country singer.
Officer Tracy “Wolverine” Barrows & Detective Daugherty will keep a 24/7 watch on Paige in a safe/secure location.

Eleanor Tinsley Park. The Shadow of Spring (free city outdoor concert). Paige Reimer (lead singer), Jeff Cooper (drummer), Kevin O’Malley (lead guitar), Harvey Simmons (vocalist/singer), Craig (keyboardist), & Noah (guitar, vocalist/singer).
The concert didn’t go without incident.
Can Detective Daugherty save Paige Reimer & catch the stalker & bring him to justice.

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written crime thriller book. It was amazingly easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. There is no doubt in my mind this is a quite easy rating of 5 stars.

Homicide detectives, Noah Daugherty and his partner, Connor Crawford are in the hot seat at work. The city of Houston is planning a free outdoor concert showcasing 3 bands, one of which Paige Reimer is the lead singer for. Paige has a stalker who found her hotel room and slipped a note under the door. Freaked out, she has asked for police protection and help in identifying the pervert. Noah was a classical trained musician and singer before becoming a police detective. With the insistence of the mayor, the chief of police and his own chief of detectives boss, he is now playing and singing country and western. With less than a week to find the stalker Noah is on stage playing and Connor is working the computer to check out everyone associated with Paige. When the stalker is able to find Paige, even after changing hotels, the chase heats up. This is an exciting romantic mystery thriller with great police procedures that entertains on all levels. As the second in this series, Seasons Pass, we learn more of Noah's story while we watch him recover from the recent death of his wife. All the characters are well written, the police homicide theme adds to the thrill and the romance is deftly worked into the story without detracting from the mystery. I am finding myself really enjoying this excursion into a series that pushes every reading boundary that I normally have.

I reviewed Winter Song, the first in this series a while back. Spring Shadow is the second stand-alone mystery in the Seasons Pass series featuring Houston Homicide Detective Noah Daugherty.

Noah, who trained as a classical musician, is assigned as bodyguard/band member for a singer who has been threatened. Paige is an up-and-comer in the country music business and the mayor doesn't want any bad publicity associated with scheduled outdoor concert--so a reluctant Noah becomes a babysitter for Paige.

An entertaining mystery that keeps you a little off-balance about Paige's past and the identity and purpose of the stalker.

Noah and his partner Connor are engaging characters, and we get more personal background about each in this book. Watching characters gradually develop from book to book keeps a freshness to a series, and the plot is interesting. While I didn't like it as much as the first book, Spring Shadow kept me involved throughout.

A great who done it story & love story

This story has great suspense &character studies. The prose is awesome with detail that sucks you into the world between the pages. Reading Noah's thoughts in italics really works so you follow the story from inside out. And there' s a surprise ending that isn't a gimmick - it's just right. Can' t wait for the next season for Noah & Sweet Pea.

It was a fascinating and fun read. One of the top books I have read, and I'll definitely be checking out the other books in this series. Spring Shadow had a great plotline and kept me guessing what would happen next. Just when I thought it was coming to an end, it still had much left in the book to finish. The personal moments and emotions sprinkled in at the right time added to it. It felt like I was right there watching every event unfold, trying to solve the mystery.

Fast paced thriller

Characters that were likeable and an excellent plot. The hero and his cop partner are two that I would like to read more about in the future. The ending had integrity.

Very good. 3.5 stars. The stalker plot was interesting and well-plotted, but I found the personal threads the best parts.

I will take a short break and read something else before continuing to the next book in this series; I think this book would have benefitted from a break after the first one.

I didn't care much for this one, it wasn't anywhere near as good as the first one. Paige was a horrible character.

I really enjoy the way that Susan Muller writes and how she draws you into her stories from the beginning to the end. Spring Shadow was no different and I am glad that I had the chance to read this one. I am sure you will not regret giving this one a chance as well!

Noah is a detective that is all about the hard core cases, but when his boss calls him in, he knows that he is either in trouble or something crazy is going on. Noah finds out that he is being assigned to guard a country singer while she is in town because she has received some death threats that have everyone worried. Noah bucks the idea at first, but when he finds out that he gets to be part of her band undercover, he thinks that it might just be ok. He likes performing so this is right up his alley.

Paige is just becoming famous and is worried about some death threats she has received. Paige was hesitant to go to the police about them because she is so not one to want a bodyguard or anything, but she came to her senses and thought she better tell someone. Paige is not too fond of Noah just as he was not too fond of her until she found out that he could sing and play. Noah was not too bad after all anyway!! Paige still wanted him to keep his distance and hopefully he wouldn't find out about all her secrets from her past.

Will Noah and Paige be able to get along while they have to be together? Will Noah uncover Paige's secrets from her past and be able to figure out who this stalker is? You really have to read this one for yourself and experience all the drama and suspense that comes with this story from Susan Muller. I thought that the characters were very well developed and that the story line flowed really smoothly. I enjoyed this read as I am sure you will! I can't wait to see what is in store for us next in the Season's Pass Series!

This nail biting, full of intrigue mystery was a joy to read. I never expected the twists and turns that came my way while reading.

Paige is an up and coming country music singer who is ready for her big break. But letters under her door from who knows who are scaring her. And with the big show she has she needs protection. In comes Noah Daugherty. Homicide detective who the chief in trusts to keep her safe. And being a trained musician doesn't hurt. Playing one of the band gives him an inside into who she's around and who may be secretly obsessing over her. But as the concert grows closer, Paige's secrets come to light and Noah doesn't know where to turn. But he knows he can't fight this attraction any longer. Having felt nothing since Betsy died he can't believe how he feels with Paige. And keeping her safe is all he can think about.
But when things go wrong will he lose her forever?? Is she right for him? Only time will tell.
Can't wait for the next installment and more of Noah!

Noah is on another job this time protecting Paige a country singer and joining her band. While Paige keeps getting threatened. Noah is chasing the evidence and coming up short. His partner Conor is doing all the behind the scene research.
When push comes to shove and the suspect starts going after Noah and Connors family. Things will take a turn.

I love how the players play well together in this series and how each story is their own but yet you know who the characters are. You kind of get a sense of bonding with them

This is book two in the Season's Pass series. Noah is back! This time Noah is asked to go undercover in a band. The lead singer has been getting threats, and the threats are increasing. Noah is tasked to protect her, and he is determined to figure out who her stalker is. Can he do it in time? I was really excited to read another story with Noah and Conner! It did not disappoint. This story kept me hooked from the beginning, and I highly recommend it!

Spring Shadow by Susan Muller

Noah Daugherty is a homicide detective. He and his partner are in serious trouble at work. Noah is still having a hard time dealing with the sudden passing of his wife.

In light of his troubles, Noah has been put on”babysitting”duty. He is a little put off by this. This is not what his job is, he didn't sign up for this.

Paige, the up and coming country singer has a past. One that may haunt her. But the moment Paige meets Noah sparks fly. However, her attitude towards him and her situation possess him off. She needs to take these threats seriously.

I have always really enjoyed Susan Muller's writings. I like how fast paced the stories are. She really just draws you in from the very beginning and keeps you until the very last word. I've really enjoyed this installment in Season’s Pass series. I love these characters and will continue to read them.

Homicide Detectives Noah Daugherty and Conner Crawford were ordered to protect rising singing sensation Paige Reimer, who is in town to perform at the local park’s Shadow of Spring concert. It wasn’t clear whether Paige had an overzealous fan, or an outright stalker, but it was the Detectives’ job to keep her safe for the week, as well as the night of the concert. Noah, being a former musician, posed as a member of the band. As incidents escalate, proving the culprit to be a stalker, Noah gets targeted himself. Not knowing where the stalker will strike next, Noah and Paige drop out of sight. But with the concert quickly approaching, Noah worries that there will be no way to keep Paige safe on stage. The pressure is on, for apprehending the stalker before it’s too late.

I love reading detective books and this one fit the bill perfectly. The plot was well written, with very likeable characters. This is the second book in the series, but I didn’t feel like I missed anything from before. The character of Noah was complicated, and drew me in quickly. This was one you couldn’t figure out ahead of time who the stalker was, but still had me trying to anyway throughout the entire read. I will continue this series for sure.
