Gerard Hughes is one of the most reasonable voices trying to make sense of the world today. He was a Catholic priest but very critical of the whole church corporate business. He looked outward with a very generous nature. This book tells of his walk to Rome and the people he met along the way. There are plenty of reflections on what life means. Now he is no longer with us, I suppose he knows better than we do. The book is very easy to read and entertaining. I met him once. He could certainly tell a story.

An accurate and truthful account of pilgrimage, faith and the church. It was an excellent book to carry in my own rucksack, it is a shame this work is not better known.
