Donald John Trump is an American politician, media personality, and businessman who currently serves as the President of the United States in his second term.
Trump received a Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1968, and his father named him president of his real estate business in 1971. Trump renamed it the Trump Organization and reoriented the company toward building and renovating skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. After a series of business failures in the late twentieth century, he successfully launched side ventures that required little capital, mostly by licensing the Trump name. From 2004 to 2015, he co-produced and hosted the reality television series The Apprentice. He and his businesses have been plaintiff or defendant in more than 4,000 state and federal legal actions, including six business bankruptcies. Trump won the 2016 presidential election as the Republican Party nominee against Democratic Party nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton while losing the popular vote. During the campaign, his political positions were described as populist, protectionist, isolationist, and nationalist. His election and policies sparked numerous protests. He was the first U.S. president with no prior military or government experience. A special counsel investigation established that Russia had interfered in the 2016 election to favor Trump's campaign. Trump promoted conspiracy theories and made many false and misleading statements during his campaigns and presidency, to a degree unprecedented in American politics. Many of his comments and actions have been characterized as racially charged or racist and many as misogynistic. As president, Trump ordered a travel ban on citizens from several Muslim-majority countries, diverted military funding toward building a wall on the U.S.–Mexico border, and implemented a policy of family separations for migrants detained at the U.S. border. He weakened environmental protections, rolling back more than 100 environmental policies and regulations. He signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which cut taxes for individuals and businesses and rescinded the individual health insurance mandate penalty of the Affordable Care Act. He appointed Neil Gorsuch, Brett M. Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett to the U.S. Supreme Court. He reacted slowly to the COVID-19 pandemic, ignored or contradicted many recommendations from health officials, used political pressure to interfere with testing efforts, and spread misinformation about unproven treatments. Trump initiated a trade war with China and withdrew the U.S. from the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, the Paris Agreement on climate change, and the Iran nuclear deal. He met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un three times but made no progress on denuclearization. Trump refused to concede after losing the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, falsely claiming widespread electoral fraud, and attempted to overturn the results by pressuring government officials, mounting scores of unsuccessful legal challenges, and obstructing the presidential transition. On January 6, 2021, he urged his supporters to march to the U.S. Capitol, which many of them then attacked, resulting in multiple deaths and interrupting the electoral vote count.
Trump is the only American president to have been impeached twice. After he tried to pressure Ukraine in 2019 to investigate Biden, he was impeached by the House of Representatives for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. He was acquitted by the Senate in February 2020. The House impeached him again in January 2021 for incitement of insurrection. The Senate acquitted him in February. Scholars and historians rank Trump as one of the worst presidents in American history.
I have not read this book, but Donald Trump's campaign has been one long lesson in the art of thinking like a billionaire, and I believe I have grasped the main points.
When you think like a billionaire, you don't pay tax. You have accountants who know how to get you out of this annoying and old-fashioned requirement. When people ask you about it, you tell them to mind their own fucking business. Nearly all the time, they do.
When you think like a billionaire, you don't pay your creditors either, unless you judge that it's in your best interests to do so. Quite often it won't be. You aren't planning on continuing the relationship, so why pay? If they sue, you have better lawyers than they do. You can carry on litigating forever. You won't even notice the inconvenience, but it'll ruin their lives.
When you think like a billionaire, you can forget those dumb ideas about treating women with respect. If you're sitting next to an foxy chick at dinner, you can just put your hand up her dress. She won't yell, slap your face or call the cops. Quite a few of them will like the attention. The ones who don't will be smart enough to keep quiet.
The very best part of thinking like a billionaire is that you don't have to feel bad for any of this. You can talk openly about it and people will admire you. You can run for president on a platform of being a real guy instead of a stuffed shirt, and they'll come flocking to your rallies. You can say whatever comes into your head and they'll cheer. If anyone disagrees, just tell your fans to rough them up a bit. They'll be happy to do you this little favor. You are what they want to be, and they love you for it.
Say what you will about Donald Trump,I find his books very amusing.
When I found this book,Donald Trump was not a politician.I picked it up at an airport.
I was vaguely familiar with Trump, having seen his picture in the gossip pages of magazines. He seemed an amusing figure and that name,Trump, stuck in memory.
This book claims to teach the reader "everything about success, real estate and life".
These insights,of course, would be incomplete without referring to Trump's reality TV show,The Apprentice. In that show,he seems to take particular delight in firing people.
The reader is then shown glimpses of the billionaire's wonderfully successful life.Advice is even offered on what to eat,and how good Trump's hair is.
He talks about his properties, his golf courses, his opulent penthouse and even his fondness for beautiful women which he indulged through the Miss Universe pageant.
And he pats himself on the back for pulling off all those immensely profitable real estate deals. It is a celebration of how clever he is.
The pompous tone of this book made me smile and laugh a good deal.

I don't understand why a big chunk of this book focuses on The Apprentice and very little is going towards real estate investment strategies and tactics... I don't need to know the details of a TV program, i need to learn mindsets, strategies and techniques. So, in brief this book IS FIRED!! :)
The How to Get Rich sequel. Sage business advice stops halfway through, however, supplanted by tales from "The Apprentice" and his daily schedule... making Never Give Up and Art of the Deal more informative, inspiring books. Trump-haters need only read this paragraph to gauge his tenacity with their lack of it :
================ “Years ago they decided to do a “Who is the cheapest millionaire?” test. They sent checks in amounts from $0.50 to $5.00 to a list of millionaires throughout the country. I received a check of fifty cents, and we at the Trump Organization deposited it. They may call it cheap; I call it watching the bottom line. The higher you climb on the list of billionaires, the cheaper people become. Every dollar counts in business, and for that matter every dime. Penny pinching? You bet. I’m all for it.” ================

“Know the tax history of the property.”
“I always think of interests rates simply as the cost of money…. like a yearly membership fee or a utility bill.”
“The lower the interest rates, the higher the possible fees. Read the fine print.”
“Renovation equals devotion… you should be as attentive to details as I am, no matter what the scale of your project.”
“I’ll be driving down the highway, see a great tree, and ask my limo driver to pull over. I’ll knock on the door. It’s usually a woman… and I’ll say, “Hi lady, I’d love to buy your tree.” She’ll say, ‘Oh my God, it’s Donald Trump! I can’t believe this is happening.’ … I’ve bought a lot of great trees that way…”
Wealth : ————— “When you have a lot of money, it can cause misery. But I’d rather have that kind of misery, then the misery without it.”

I will advice everyone to read this book, since it is almost the only book that Mr Trump wrote to be read by everyone,So you do not have to be An Entrepreneur or Business driven to read it. The Books is a group of advice/Articles about all aspects of life(work, real estate, Restaurant business, relationships)from the point of view of a media and real estate tycoon. 1st Part bout Real estate(how to buy/sell/rent a property-how to deal with a broker-how to add value to your property). 2nd part about money(how to find a good investment-how to save/manage your portfolio-how to divide your assets and invest in bonds and stock market). 3rd Part:is my Favorite so far ,Mr trump is talking about his business and his great comeback after he lost all his money and declared his bankruptcy, then his divorces, marriages and kids. then based on his great experience he will offer advice about how to balance between marriage and business, how to pick a good spouse, how to love your job,how to dress to impress and promote your image as a businessman/woman,how to find real friends, how to pick your stuff for work, even etiquette and diet and what to eat when your are at work he did not miss it! last part about his show the apprentice. over all the books is pretty helpful and very well divided and definitely Mr trump is a bookworm and street-smart(he is Wharton business school graduate)
As a Christian, I believe God Thinks Like a Billionnaire, and I wanted some categorical evidence of this. I found it in this book! People at the top of their game think the same in many areas. This is tremendously motivating because you don't have to be a real estate tycoon to benefit from his experience. You can be an artist, musician, pastor or parent, and get something from the mind of a millionaire...or Billionaire.
I like to know who among the most successful people in the world believes in God. Trump opens up with a small tribute to faith "I believe in God," he wrote. That's smart. Then he revealed, "I don't drink...." That's discipline.
Some things will challenge people, especially if they already don't like Trump any way, are tips like these: - "Don't take vacations. What's the point? If you're not enjoying your work, you're in the wrong job." - "Have a short attention span... After the first 3 words are out of their mouth, I can tell what the next 40 are going to be, so I try to pick up the pace and move it along." I understand some people just don't want to live at this pace. As a leader myself, I find the non-nonsense talk motivating.
If you prefer to watch a video summary of "10 Things I Learned from a Billionaire," click the DVD with the photo of Trump on it here: http://discover.org.au/bookshop/index... It contains the 10 best tips I got from Trump which directly relate to Biblical teachings.
I read this book a decade ago when it first came out and found it met my expectations: incohesive chapters with little evidence to back up his claims. As for the effectiveness of his advise, one merely needs to consider that in the last decade since this book was published we have yet to hear a single billionaire (or even millionaire) claim: "My short journey to riches began after I read Trumps’ book on how to think..."
The only reason I gave this book one star was because -2 or -3 was not an option. Hands down the worst book on finances I've ever picked up. Not that the ideas in it were terrible, but it only talks about common sense things that most of us already know. Useless.
I bought this book at the Goodwill in order to prevent anyone else from having to read it.
Honestly, I expected to hate and detest this book, and was disconcerted to find myself enjoying it within the first few minutes. It's a quick read, as the chapters are short, the sentences are short, and the words are short, very much like Donald Trump's penis.
I admit that was a low blow, but one has to understand that this man is the quintessential ego out of control, the anti-spirituality, anti-God, anti-humanity, anti-love abomination that befouls the Earth and is collectively responsible for all evils and falsehoods that exist. So I'm at liberty to make a penis joke here and there at his expense. It's okay - I don't think his ego will be too bruised, don't worry.
There are some positive aspects of this book. If you're looking to buy or rent an apartment, bedroom, house or hotel room, there's useful information. If you want to know how to deal with various types of professionals (or how not to) such as contractors, lawyers, bellhops, etc - then there are some vaguely useful pieces of advice. Trump does have a lot of experience in interacting with the many types of people who actually do the work of running the world and propping up his enormous ego, since if he did not, he would actually have to learn a valuable skill himself, like how to tie his own shoelaces.
In addition, there's a treasure trove of insight into the nooks and crannies (more crannies than nooks) of Donald J Trump's thought-processes. I am certain that Mr Putin would agree, which is why Trump, not Clinton or Bernie is currently the President of the United States of America.
However, as the book approached the midpoint, his ego ran out of steam and focus, and he switched subjects abruptly to retelling the story of his adventures with Saturday Night Live in the good old days before he hated it for skewering his ego in the final season of the final campaign for the Presidency. The boredom and inauthenticity he displayed in pretending to be appreciative of Lorne Michaels, etc (or of any other human being) was contagious and I found myself struggling to stay awake through the remainder of this poorly-written piece of propaganda.
The method of storytelling is reminiscent of how movies portray mob bosses when they talk about themselves in an attempt to make themselves sound good. If this kind of writing had a smell, it would smell like casinos, cash, cigars, cocaine, and sweat. Even though Trump says he doesn't smoke cigars, and I believe it, the cigars come with the cufflinks and the limousines. These props are absolutely necessary for those who want to play the type of role that Trump has played his whole life. Fools need their caps just as much as kings need their crowns.
The idea that this man or anyone like him is considered one of the successes of America is a deeply shameful and nauseating concept. Truly it was written: "One cannot serve both God and money." And Trump, like so many other people, has made his choice - and it shows in the quality of his behavior, his character, his "thinking," his speaking, his policies, his opinions, his Tweets, his criminal activities, and in all other aspects of his bloated egoic self.
Like anyone who considers themselves an alpha male, Donald J. Trump is the quintessential beta male, and if it weren't the case he wouldn't spend so much of his time trying to get back at his detractors like a vain, petty, spoiled brat of a prince. If it weren't the case, the word "TRUMP" would not be writ so large, so in-your-face, as if it's somehow intimidating to other males if the text size is sufficient relative to the page. This quasi-conscious male posturing is symptomatic of the patriarchic rape culture that glorifies men like Trump and his doting fanboys and poisons all goodness and decency in true masculinity in this country and in the world. He is a gorilla in a clown suit, and he can't even write his own books - one can only imagine the awkward and shameful process of him dictating this garbage to Meredith McIver, who, one can only suppose, did the typing, the ego-stroking, the editing, and any other actual work involved in the production of this "book."
Overall, I would not recommend that anyone else read this book unless they want the sort of insights into how Hell thinks or what it's all about that I do.
I agree with a lot of what one of the reviewers here said (5 stars, John J. Rinck, February 14, 2005). I for one, greatly enjoyed the succinct and concise chapters. I prefer the book as it is, as compared to if a ghostwriter had written it (with more "flowery" language, which gives the illusion of getting more bang for your buck).
I find it interesting to note also that all the people blasting Mr. Trump and/or his books...well...*probably* aren't exactly billionaires (or millionaires?).
I enjoyed the "glossy photos" included also. They showcase his success.
Mr. Trump writes at the start: "Even if you absorb only ten percent of the wisdom in this book, you'll still have a good shot at becoming a millionaire."
Advice from other places in the book: "Focus on the solutions, not the problem."
Pg 149: 1. Think big 2. Stay focused 3. Be paranoid (keep your guard up) 4. Be passionate 5. Don't ever give up 6. Love what you are doing
I got this book because I enjoyed the introductory material (which I happened to chance upon via Google Books). I am an independent author/publisher/entrepreneur. The going can get tough sometimes. Rather than wallow in self-pity and whine/gripe about things endlessly, I seek out success stories and seek to emulate successful people (it sure beats moping around and complaining about things/life in general).
This book is no exception (success story, etc.). I am thankful to Mr. Trump for sharing a wealth of information, via his thoughts/views!
The billionaires' club is an exclusive one—in a world of six billion people, fewer than 600 are billionaires. In Think Like a Billionaire, real estate mogul Donald J. Trump shares a few of the characteristics that set billionaires apart from the rest of the crowd.
For example, billionaires seldom do what's conventional or expected of them. Rather, they stay true to their vision, even in the face of criticism and doubt. Interestingly, Donald Trump has only met a handful of his billionaire brethren ... usually on the golf course. They seldom discuss their portfolios. As you might expect, conversations tend to focus on the game of golf.
In the book, co-authored with Meredith McIver, Donald Trump shares tips on how to think like a billionaire. He includes practical advice on investing in real estate, and discusses why it's important for property owners to care about details like landscaping and interior decorating.
Wow, what a terrible book this was. If this book has "everything you need to know about success, real estate, and life," then I have seriously over complicated these topics. I would categorize this book as entertainment instead of business because it basically describes Trump's lavish lifestyle and neglects any decent business advice. Some of Trump's nuggets of real estate wisdom include, buying trees from peoples yards to put on your property, and making every tiny detail on your property perfect. No advice on cashflow, cap rates etc. just worthless fluff. If this book was marketed as an entertaining collection of anecdotes from Trump's life, I would have given it 3 or 4 stars. As a business book however, it is a complete failure.
I didn't have an opinion one way or another about Donald Trump before picking up this book, but after reading it, I'm now an official fan. I enjoyed his matter-of-fact opinions and the authority in which he wrote. He's a man who knows who he is and what he wants and he makes it happen. I enjoy people like that. I loved how his chapters were very short and concise. He's a man who would never waste words just to fill space. I found his weekly itineries fascinating. Very impressed how he can meet with six people in about half an hour. I'm a HUGE fan of efficiency and Mr. Trump is the master.
This book is nothing more than constant advertising for the Trump empire and the author several times comes across as conceited and ostentatious. Looks like he leads a wonderful life and when you already achieved success then working 10-15 hour days is a pleasure because he is the boss, and has all the toys you can imagine. Most chapters contain general remarks about achieving success in life, also common sense information about buying/selling homes and a behind the scenes look at filming The Apprentice. Don't waste your money!
OMG, these books get you charged UP! I can't read these late at night, 'cause 5 minutes inside the head of The Donald gets me thinking at the speed of business, which is terribly fast. Trump only sleeps 5 hours a night and he makes a phone call EVERY 10 minutes he's awake. I started doing the same thing, for a week, and then I crashed like a blackhawk in Somalia. Every other person he mentions in the book is a "real dynamo". It's all about movement in business, and Big D knows how to move.
The first 130 pages are full of good general knowledge of business stuff. There are most certainly better books out there on real estate and investing. The last 130ish pages are pure day in the life of and have nothing to do with investing. He starts talking about beauty pageants and his time on Saturday night live (before becoming president obviously) he also spends a good portion talking about the apprentice, trump tower and mar a largo. There is no doubt the man is accomplished however there is waaaay better books.
Ngoài Tháp Trump và các tòa nhà khác ở thành phố New York, bang New York, ông còn sở hữu 4 sân gôn và 3 khách sạn sòng bạc ở thành phố Atlantic, bang New Jersey, Mỹ.
Donald Trump's Think Like a Billionaire thoroughly proves that, though he may be a billionaire, he is absolutely incapable of thinking. This book was filled with observations that are either trite and meaningless, or so painfully evident that a five year old would be able to make more profound comments.
Allow me to summarize his world view, as presented by this book. 1) I am in love with me. 2) Everyone is in love with me. 3) If you aren't in love with me, you're not thinking like a billionaire.
His advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is even less valuable. His only insight when doing anything appears to be, well, just hire someone else. Why would you want to waste your time doing anything? Come on, you're a billionaire.
Oh wait, you aren't.
I wish I could give this book 0 stars, but I decided to be merciful. I picked up this book, expecting bigotry, racism, sexism, and flagrantly offensive comments. To be fair, this book was none of that. It was merely grotesquely boring and a piece of trash. I equate the experience of reading this book to be roughly the same as listening to your alarm clock ringing on low volume for an extended period of time. You aren't going to give birth to raging hatred, but eventually you are going to fling this book on a wall and just go back to sleep.
This book was a disappointment. It really had very little to do with finances. It was rather like Trump decided to ramble on and on about everything from his favorite shampoo to his time on the apprentice.
There were a few gems of wisdom in this book. Trump is a big believer in hiring interior decorators and honestly I would never have thought about hiring one for my personal home. Maybe a business. But, Trump convinced me. Whenever I next move (and can afford it) I think I will give a decorator a try.
This book was mildly entertaining but otherwise nearly worthless.
I'll admit it, I love The Donald and really enjoyed several of his other books. But the advice in this book is so simplistic that it's of little use, and some of it is downright insulting. For instance, on the topic of diet he says one of the five rules of foods on the Mar-A-Lago diet is, "It cannot make you gain weight." Um, duuh!
I wouldn't recommend this book. Read, "The Art of the Deal" or "How to Get Rich" instead.
Despite the overwhelming political reviews , this book does have some good advice from trump himself, which, looking from a non biased perspective, is still one of the most successful businessmen in the world.
I mainly focus on the business and money advice in my review, the real estate version will come in a second reread. This book has a lot of points to cover so be warned this is a long review
Trump starts off the book by stating some of the similarities between billionaires. To not care about what the odds are and follow your vision, almost narcissistically devoting your talent with unrelenting focus on your dreams.
1. Don't take vacations - if you're not enjoying your own work, you are in the wrong job, and usually, if you're having fun, you naturally won't stop, so there's no need for vacations trump's family is common in a passion for a job well done
2. Have a short attention span - you get more done faster, but it usually requires imagination to find faster ways
3. Dont sleep any more than you have to - billionares seek dominance in their field, - You can never outcompete people who sleep less and work the same as you. There's not enough time in a day
4. Dont depend on tech - much of it is unecessary, only use it if it speeds up your processes - communication through tech lacks the sincerity of face to face
5. Think yourself as a one man army - billionaires like to win, its more important to be smart than tough - you must plan and execute your plan alone
6. It's often to your advantage to be underestimated - you never want people to think you're a loser but it's not good if they think you're the smartest, they keep their guard up and treat you differently that way -boasting is often necessary, but others boasting for you or even discovering your accomplishments is far better
7. Success breeds success - results impress people the most, even if you don't have any you have to create the impression of success but start small and build up
8. Friends are good family are better - nothing to say here
9.treat each decision like a lover - each decision is made at different speeds but treat it based on the needs at that time, not on a fixed system - some of the best business decisions are made with passion (the basic impulses ensure that you're going in a direction that will drive you)
10. Be curious - you have to be hungry to learn more past what you know
On to the section of money tips, trump gives a boatload of them. To start,he reminds us that luck with money is not fixed, it can change so long as you work hard
Even as a billionaire, trump still "pinches pennies" or is very financially aware. He advises: - be comfortable with bargaining - buy quality products over branded And most importantly, that small "measly" amounts can compound massively
When it comes to investing, one must know that the market is heavily interconnected and how each moving part works with the other. Trump also gives advice on the ratio of bonds and stocks which simply put: is to invest more in bonds as you get older
When investing, you have to do your homework and buy companies you understand but never fall in love with the investment Additionally, ditch companies that have measly growth in the long term because they're not worth the risk
Some basics of investing would be watching your bottom line: knowing how much risk you can take and the money you can afford to lose. Chase impossibilities because you never want to see someone less deserving get it (reflects trump's dominant nature)
Being rich isn't a passive state, GET A MOVE ON. Time is always more valuable than money
Some useful job advice: - you always have to love your job because you're working for yourself. The passion alone will solve 90% of the problems - once you find something, never stop and never give up because shit will hit the fan every day - promotion comes from naturally doing what you're good at, you do want to promote a certain image of yourself every day but if you deserve to be promoted by others you will be - make your work pleasurable and remember that romance should spur you to work harder, not become lazy
A vital point about loyalty: - if someone is disloyal once, they will be forever
[Think big, stay focused, keep your guard up, be passionate, don't ever give up, love what you do]
An in-depth book of all things trump with valuable knowledge all around, I rate this a 4/5 solely because of the excessive revolving of this book around "the apprentice" which makes it more like an advert than a book. Nonetheless, the section giving a glimpse into a day of his life is a good opportunity to understand what it takes to be a billionare
