"You can't love him, you need someone who you're more compatible with," he insisted. His arms moved suddenly, his palms slamming against the wall beside my head, his arms locked into place.
"You wouldn't know," I gritted out in frustration. Landon sighed, leaning in further till his soft lips pressed against my neck lightly, briefly, making me gasp.
"Trust me, I know exactly who you suit," he whispered.
"Remember the night at your house after dinner?" He asked, his lips leaving soft kisses up to my ear. I shuddered, nodding. He smiled gently against my skin.
For some super odd reason, I have been in a shifter kind of romance mood. However, this just wasn't my cup of tea. That doesn't mean that I flew through it but this book had SO many mistakes that need to be edited. Plus, the main characters really annoyed me.
In Alpha Landon, you will meet Althea and Landon. This is kind of a friends to lovers thing but they annoyed me to no end. It doesn't help that these two just had a crush on one another but I wasn't really feeling the whole mate vibe. I don't know what it is but they were very boring. Throw in the Alpha Kaden, supposed bad guy, and his brother Coen.. and I was just confused.
A lot of this book just didn't make sense to me. I didn't really get how the Alpha and his 'mate' went through a Cinderella transformation in .2 seconds. Then there's the fact that Coen said he was Althea's true mate.. but then she just straight up denies him over a crush? Who is her actual mate because I AM CONFUSED.
Overall, I read the second book too and I have no idea what the hell this series is doing to me.
Thank you to the publishers for sending me an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. It in no way has affected my review of it.
*sigh* I had just as many problems with this book as I did with the first. It is an entire story about werewolves in which only once does someone change on page and even that was barely mentioned. I feel like the author has written the framework for the story and forgot to go back and flush things out at all. There is no real plot in this book. It is literally just a bunch of points that could become a book if it was given enough time and energy. The characters did not make any sense and you were not able to connect to them in any sense. The main character, Althea, is best friends with the soon to be Alpha, Landon. She has been "in love" with him for years but the story does not explain why she is. Everything happens so fast and it is hard to keep track of what is going on. There is angst or drama for the sake of drama. Perhaps there is a real reason but it was never explained at all. Ie. Landon's father, the previous alpha, hating Althea as much as he does. The man has tried to intimidate, imprison, amd frame this girl for a crime she did not commit. Like why? Why does he hate her so much? There is no reason that you as a reader, can figure out. It takes until the very end for Althea to meet her destined mate which is a bit misleading considering the synopsis makes the book seem like it is about choosing love over mates. That did not seem well thought out at all.
All in all, I am more confused than anything by this book. Im giving it a 1.5/5 for the promise the plot points seem to show.
This is a voluntary and honest review for an advanced copy.
One star is a bit harsh and there are very few books that i give one star too.......but.....I am not sure if i received a first draft copy of this book because it was awful. There were so many mistakes i had to go back in places and re-read to try to understand what was being said.
The story started off ok but then it just lost its way, there was nothing exciting, no intrigue, i didn't even feel the romance. It was just messy and uninteresting, i found myself skipping pages just to try and finish but in the end i gave up. This is my honest review and it is a shame because i have read other books in this series and they were an "ok" read.
Maybe i am in the wrong age bracket to read this.........but this is a book i will not be recommending.
The story started well but it didn't have one good strong storyline. Instead, the plot meandered from one thing to the next without any clear direction, and then it came to a very sudden end. The confusing and unfinished story threads set the scene for sequels however, the writing would need to be better than this to entice readers to continue with the series.
Midika Crane writes non-traditional shifter romance novels. They don't follow the usual rules and this one is no different.
Two best friends destined for different futures. Landon is to transform into an Alpha male, and Althea should be looking for a suitable mate. Both are in love with each other, but neither has declared it. Their match isn't what their family wanted. This isn't a fated mate book. They both have a choice in who their future pairing is with. Obviously, we know how this one ends. There's some dating, jealousy and a lot of drama. Just like the other Alpha books Midika Crane has written this one is unique and something different.

While, this book is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone book. In the beginning I was really feeling the groove between Althea and Landon. The way they first met when they were younger was sweet. In fact, I loved the way the author portrayed Landon before he became Alpha as a geeky guy with a kind heart. There are so many werewolf books that I have read where the male alpha is physically fit to start out. This was not the case, so I instantly, fell for Landon.
Althea's father has already picked a mate for her. His name is Cyrus. He was a bit awkward as well. He really did try to form a nice bond with Althea by bring her flowers and a picnic lunch. Sadly, it was not up to par when Landon became alpha. Especially, with the cards stacked against him from the childhood bond that Landon and Althea shared.
After a while, it grew tiresome with Landon always getting in between Althea and Cyrus. The battle of the males. There was really more talking and not a lot of action. This book felt more like a romance and it did not have any paranormal feel to it that I have come to expect from these types of books. Not that every werewolf book has to be a paranormal but if there had been "more" then I would not have cared at all. I stopped reading after getting a third of the way in. I flashed forward to the last couple of chapters and I was confused by the ending not because of I had not read the complete book but because it seemed to have more questions then answers.

Really conflicted. It would have been lovely but there were so many inconsistencies and the plot had more holes than Swiss Cheese. Anyway, the guys were hot :)) At least I love the cover. It was a fast read. Maybe the edited version which is published is better but I read this on wattpad and there were many many mistakes.
wasn't a big fan .. author kept jumping around a lot.. seemed like some good ideas for plot twist but didn't expand on any of them really came close to not finishing
Alpha Series: Alpha Landon by Midika Crane ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ OMG! What a highly entertaining story! It's a ABSOLUTELY fantastic read! I enjoyed reading this story. I have read all of Midika Crane Alpha Series they are all a phenomenal story. This story is amazing it's a awesome piece of fiction! First of all this is a emotionally stimulating book. The story features Althea and Landon. Althea has been friends with Landon since they were small children and of course she has loved him since she was thirteen years old, no matter that her father didn't like him nor did he want him around his daughter. Landon has always known he would be Alpha one day and that His father wanted him to not to be friends with AL ( his nickname for Althea) and choose another for his mate. But when he changed from a weak young boy into a imposing and handsome Alpha Landon. They are drawn to each other even more. Their love that defies Fate itself, because they are not fated mates. But their love is so strong it doesn't care about FATE. WOW! This story is impressive, I know I will read this story again and again. When you read it, you will need a box of Kleenex. The characters are enthralling, fascinating and can bring tears to your eyes. The way in which the characters interacts allows their chemistry to be blazing hot. There is a lot of intrigue that creeps into the story, which gives you the ability to be transported to their place in time, this is the reason why the story is such a page turner. These two characters have incredible depth and explosive passion. Again this series is so thrilling and captivating, its one of those story that will turn out, romantic, exciting and wrought with difficulties and tears even through the ending has a cliffhanger its still a AWESOME tale. Grab this book and buckle up! The ride is more than worth it!!! This is a must read for those who enjoy an book that you can easily get lost in. I highly recommend this book A captivating story that I certainly enjoyed. I voluntarily reviewed this book. Because I enjoy sharing my thoughts with my fellow readers.
I think this started out really strong, but it fizzles out in the middle. So much of it stops making sense and I felt like the author jumped around too much and left holes in their story. I did find the different characteristics for the theme intriguing. I just really wish it had a stronger plot towards the end. I hate to give it a low rating, but I wanted to be honest. I also didn't finish the book. It just didn't grab me as much. Although I do think it could be added to and filled, it would make more sense. Even though this one was a miss for me, I plan on reading the next book in the series. I like to give another book from the author a chance to grab my attention in a positive way.
First of all I love werewolf stories! So I was really excited to read this book but boy was I disappointed! This book made absolutely no sense, from characters who have no real depth with relationships that make no sense to a progression in the story anything but smooth... I mean I don't even know how to describe it. We go from hey we're best friends to marking without consent to framed and imprisoned to in fact you have a predestined mate to pregnant with no flow in between those steps. So I am sorry for those who might take offence in my opinion but it is just that my opinion.
Alpha Landon is book 1 in the Alphas series by Midika Crane. Now, I have to laugh because I have read and reviewed this series backward. I started with Alpha Kaden, then Alpha Grayson and now Alpha Landon. Reading Alpha Landon, though, I now understand different relationships throughout the book. Like the hate/hate relationship with Kaden and Althea. It was fully explained in Alpha Landon. Relationships and characters that I was puzzling over in Alpha Kaden and Alpha Grayson made more sense. Also, the not shifting deal, which people had complained about, was fully explained and it actually made sense.
Althea, I liked. She was not afraid to stand up for herself, even when she was in situations where she should have just cowered (mainly the scenes with Kaden). I did feel bad for her during parts of the book. It always seemed like she was getting the short end of the stick when it came to things. Like finding a mate. Her father was basically forcing guys down her throat to get a mating for her. Or her friendship and eventual relationship with Landon. She had to deal with his father, who was a huge jerk. But she also brought trouble onto herself. Like sneaking onto the Alpha’s land which got her thrown in jail and that is where she met Kace. Or attacking Natasha in the car on the ride back from Alpha Alden’s.
Landon had an amazing transformation during the first few chapters of Alpha Landon. He went from a super skinny nerd to this buff Alpha. The transformation was insane and it did throw Althea for a loop. He was also super jealous of any attention paid to Althea and marked her as his mate….even though she wasn’t his to mark. I do wish that the book had more chapters written from his perspective because I would have loved to see what was going on in his head.
What I didn’t get was how he was allowed to mark Althea as his mate….even though she was fated to be the mate of Coen, Kaden’s brother. Another thing that I wish that was explained because when I read that part, I went “How on earth can he do that“. It just puzzled me but considering what happened in Alpha Kaden, I am glad that the author chose to go the way she did.
The whole storyline with Kace was confusing too. It was never said why he was in that prison or even exactly who he was to Kaden. I wish more details were given on that too. Even though he was in the book for a short amount of time, he definitely got my attention and, as weird as it sounds, my pity. Yes, I pitied a killer who was obsessed with Althea. He was thrown into that jail when he was 12 years old and was held there for 7 years. That had to of screwed him up even more than he was.
The end of the book was great. What I liked is that while Landon and Althea had their happy ending, the other Alphas were still looking (or not looking) for theirs. And I loved the hint at Alpha Kaden’s storyline given in the epilogue!!
How many stars will I give Alpha Landon: 4
Why: Great storyline, good characters, and great romance
Will I reread: Yes
Will I recommend to family and friends: Yes
Age range: Adult
Why: Violence, sex, and language

Alpha Landon by Midika Crane Review 7/16/17 Childhood loves can last a lifetime, can’t they?????
A love that defies Fate itself. A love so strong it doesn't care about norms and written destinies. Althea and Landon have been friends since childhood and are near inseparable, but the clock is ticking and pressure is building from their family to find their destined mate and finally commit. But when the young boy that Althea has known all her life suddenly morphs into the imposing and handsome Alpha Landon, she finds herself drawn to him more than ever before and looking away from other potential suitors. With their parents pushing to keep them apart and obstacles mounting around them, Althea knows that her and Landon are not naturally destined to be each other’s mate, but can fate be changed in the quest for true love?
What did I like? Wow, this is my second book of this series and it is even better than the first one. I am doing the happy dance because there are two more to go. This author really knows how to capture the reader’s attention on the first page clean through to the last page. The characters are the main thing I like about this series, they have all been so interesting and as the story goes they keep getting stronger and more developed. I could see this series as one for TV.
What are you going to like? As I said interesting and strong characters but more than that is the action and all the mystery with the twists that you could never see coming. The storyline with its clear descriptions and details. There are all the elements that go into making a delightful story, mystery, intrigue, romance, action, sex, and lots of werewolves! All total at this point there are four books in the series, Alpha Grayson, Alpha Landon, Alpha Kaden and Alpha Jasper. I previously read Alpha Grayson and I can’t wait to get to the two final books. I sure hope the author keeps going with all the rest of the Alphas! I received this from the editor for an honest review with no other compensation.
I was given a copy of this book by Exclusive ARC and Inktt. Given the title I should have known it was a shifter book but it didn't dawn on me until several chapters in. I haven't read any of the other Alpha series so I was confused by some of the characters. I think these are stand alone books but having knowledge of traits or background of some of the side characters would have been nice.
This is a friends to lovers story with the usual forbidden romance thing thrown in. I like that Althea was in love with Landon when he was geeky and still loved him when he wasn't. I'm not sure that he was in love with her when he was geeky though. Him marking her came at a weird time but I can see how his Alpha newness would have his hormones going crazy, like puberty in humans.
I liked how their relationship advanced even though he was a little TOO Alpha at times. Landon was definitely not looking for another mate at any point in the story. Cyrus just seemed wrong for her from the beginning. Missy was not what I would call a best friend either. It didn’t surprise me that they betrayed her. I felt bad for Kace, even though he was bad. His logic was twisted but for someone who I might consider rogue it made sense. I think he might have his own book so maybe we get to know him more. Coen was a mystery that I think needed more information. He was her fated mate and everyone knew but Althea. That makes no sense especially since her dad was so bent on her having a proper mate. Wouldn't her fated mate be the most proper mate? If Althea has a fated mate then shouldn't Landon also? Who is she? The other Alphas are also a mystery. I am guessing you have to read all the books to know each of them. Althea being in trouble all the time seemed a little cliche also. Why was Landon always having to rescue her?
This is a good story that needs more fleshing out. There were inconsistencies in the story and many typos. I think the epilogue could have been better or just left off. The cliffhanger at the end is a big no no for me. I hate cliffhangers.

Total Score: 4/5
Summary: I have read many alpha/shifter book, but this one had a unique twist that I enjoyed. Landon may have been an alpha, but all his childhood he was looked down upon because he appeared small and weak. As a childhood friend, Althea was the only one who loved and believed in him. She feel for him years ago, but didn't think he felt the same way. The day Landon turned nineteen and underwent the change everything was different. All of a sudden everyone wanted a piece of him leaving Althea alone. To make matters worse Althea's father is determined to get her mated to someone else. Even Landon's father is against their friendship. If that isn't bad enough, Althea finds herself in hot water leaving her open to dangers that even Landon as an alpha may have difficulty extricating her from. The story ended introducing a new character leaving the reader wondering what will happen next.
What a story line! A love tale the goes from childhood into adulthood and an Alpha. So many surprises and twists and the ending not what you are going to think it is going to be. Awesome! Growing up together in the same pack as best friends, Althea and Landon never thought that they were mates. Landon's transformation birthday comes and he is made the Alpha of his pack, as his father steps back. Going from a teenage boy to a full grown man over night, he now has muscles and his skin is perfect. He is faster and stronger then before. Althea almost didn't recognize him. Landon decides to mark Althea as his mate, it's not like they haven't had feeling for each other for years, they just didn't admit to it. As Althea moves in with Landon, she has some people to tell the truth to about being his mate and that isn't going to go over to well. Althea find herself in trouble twice and not being guilty, but set up. She meets a man in prison and comes to trust him, good or bad idea? As he helps her to escape and he takes off on his own telling her that he will perfect her, she really wonders if he is good or bad. Will she find out which one he is in time? Alpha Kaden is brought into the picture and one of his men is suppose to be Althea's mate. What? How can that be? Landon is her mate! or is he? She has to decide which man is her mate and go with him, but will there be a price to pay with her decision? The end of this story is left with a twist and an yearning for the next book. I can't wait to see what Alpha is next and what happens with Althea.
Recommendation: Alpha Landon will remain on my Did Not Finish (DNF) list. I tried, I really did, but the story was simple, poorly edited and written, and there was little to no plot. If you’re looking for a teen novel, reading shifters for the first time at a young age, or just want a mindless easy read that’s like candy, then go for it. If you’re looking for anything above that, give this one a pass I think.
Landon is to be the next Alpha of his pack, his shift coming to change everything about his life, except his love for his friend Althea (great name!). Althea and Landon have been friends for years, and after his change, Althea is worried her friend who she’s been madly in love with since she can remember, will change. Maybe he won’t have time for her, or maybe he’ll just find his mate and move on.
Althea is a young shifter whose family has never approved of her relationship with Landon. Her father is set on finding her a mate, but none of them will ever be Landon, and Landon won’t have that. No one is good enough for his Althea. No one. Except him.
The story has great bones, but unfortunately, It feels like the author stopped writing at the outline phase and none of the settings of characters are fleshed out enough to sink your teeth into. If a draft two of the book were to be released, I would give it another shot, but as it stands, the plot was too weak to grab me and help me over the writing hurdles.
--Some Spoilers Included-- I really liked this book. I do wish I could have understood some characters better, but I still did enjoy the storyline. I also would have liked to see the point of view and story about Althea's true mate. Kind of left that off unfinished in my opinion. It didn't show his feelings after she told him she loved another and what would happen to him after being rejected. I also felt that Landon was a bit standoffish about some things or sometimes towards Althea, which didn't make much sense since he seemed to really want her in the beginning. It also did not seem like he was as into the whole baby situation. He didn't seem to be into it 100%. Another thing was that Landon's dad did not approve or like Althea and tried to keep them apart and blame her for a crime she did not commit, but nothing was done or mentioned about that even after they knew it was his father's doing. Although there were a few downsides to the book, I did really enjoy reading it. I was hooked and wanted to know what would happen next. The storyline has so much potential. Yes, the book can definitely be better, but it was still enjoyable and kept you wanting to know more. I know that after stating my opinions it would seem the book should get a 2 or 3 star rating, I still leave it at a 4 star because I did like it regardless of how much it could have improved.
I have been reading this series - not necessarily in order, though I now own the box set of 1-4 so we will reread in order, but that aside - I was a bit disappointed in this one - I am not sure if it is because I am reading out of order or not but still - I shouldn't feel this empty after #1 - I have way more questions than answers -there was absolutely nothing answered in this book just one event after another that left question and question #2 - He marks her as his mate - What The Heck - who, where and how is so out of character it threw me way off #3 - I don't want to give spoilers but this ends on a cliffhanger, but what is worse is how we get to the cliffhanger #4 - What is up with Kaden? And why aren't we told how they are related - again not giving up names due to spoilers #5 - Why are we not dealing with dear old dad? What happened there? I honestly have more questions than answers and this book felt like that is all it was - chapters of plot lines for various scenarios put together to make me completely insane!
A few weeks ago a book I remember being called, “Fate,” came to mind. For some reason, I could not hold back the urge to search for it and read it again. I searched high and low, and at one point, even asked ChatGPT to see if it could find something I couldn’t. It was during my rebellious teenage years that I downloaded Wattpad. This is the second time I have read this book. Many years ago, as mentioned earlier in said rebellious phase, I read this entire series, and there is a lot of books in it. I swear to you, my dearest potential reader and hopefully author, this book, and series are worth the read. If the author would go back in, invest the time to make crucial edits and add a few more details here and there, this book series would be SO popular. Even without the edits, this book is still phenomenal. I truly do feel that the author did put deep thought into each character and their story line. Wattpad will forever be my home; the place in which I began my reading journey. This book, accompanied by the rest of the series, should most definitely be on your TBR list.
I thought this book was going to be pretty interesting, but it turned out to be a disappointment.
When I first saw this book on Wattpad, I thought, hey this book might be good, a non traditional werewolf story. Sounds interesting, right? Well yeah, it WOULD have been INTERESTING if the story was actually about WEREWOLVES. I mean, there were packs and Alphas, but what about shifting, they hardly do that in this book. The writer took werewolf out of the book :(
Also, the heroine, she was straight up stupid. Not gonna add anything else to that. You don't have to read far to find this out, pretty sure the few chapters preview on wattpad is enough to determine what the heroines character is like.
Though, I sort of liked Landon's character. And the whole pack hierarchy, that was pretty cool.
Plot was sort of all over the place though.
In a sense, this book has potential, but it didn't meet all my werewolf standards. A generous 3 stars from me.
