An amazing story of undying love and so much more.
She never had a relationship for longer than six month and now after her last breakup, she wants to escape the Christmas craziness of the city. She rents a cottage in Suffolk despite the fact that her friend advise against this because there are mysterious problems with this cottage. Alex doesn't believe in ghosts and in love. She doesn't believe in that nonsense. Together with her secret friend, she spend the holiday in Charity Cottage. All sorts of weird things happen and there were several scary encounters. Not only weird things but also an unexpected development in the friendship. Nearly at the end, I was completely surprised, or rather, shocked at what actually happened. I was yelling, noooo, this cannot happen. It totally blew me away. This book was gripping from the first few words and I couldn't put it down. It's a sweet romance with steamy passionate love scenes. The history of the cottage, the romance, the paranormal, the excitement, I loved it all. Sometimes funny but also sad, touching and heartwarming. Both main characters are wonderful and together they are very hot. A highly engaging book.
Two friends persuade each other to venture forth to live in a haunted cottage during Christmas. What follows is a retelling of a story that started in 1669. Each Christmas has been haunted by three people, two woman and one man. Finally the two woman are together following the sacrifice of a modern woman or was she? Enjoy the tale and follow the author and she continues the story!
Its a very cute, entertaining book but everything seems to happen in like warp speed... Would've loved if the author developed & expounded on the characters & the narrative more. But it was still an enjoyable read.
I'd rate this around 2.5 stars. It was wildly entertaining, and the ghost story bits were a lot of fun. Some of the lines were a little bit cringeworthy, especially in the sex scenes, and I'm not a huge fan of the "straight girl realizes she's gay because she suddenly has her first orgasm with lesbian bff" trope. But on the other hand, it was original and I had a blast reading it. (Really, who doesn't love a ghost story?)
