Long before he decided to try his hand at writing a thriller, Jacob was honing his trademark writing styles for the likes of GQ, Details, ESPN, and several others. His first novel started off as a personal goal, nothing more. Never wishing to publish a novel it was something that just grew within itself. Writing had always been a hobby that evolved into a career.
Born on December 16, 1981 in Coral Springs, Florida André Jacob childhood dream was to be a professional football player. He pursued that dream while attending Florida State University where he played football under the legendary college football coach Bobby Bowden. Somewhere between his freshman and senior year his passion for writing emerged. Graduating with a kinesiology sports business degree he went on to explore a brief career in professional baseball. With a career ending injury he turned to what was now his first love – writing.
Feeling like he needed more formal training he enrolled for a master’s in professional and creative writing at Rice University in Houston, Texas. Three years later and with a master’s in his hand be began his career now as a professional writer. Writing for several local and national magazines he continued to challenge his self as a writer. He wanted to be the best.
One day while hanging out with a friend he started writing what is now, And Then There Was Life! From the first sentence he knew he was onto something special. Never planning on writing a novel, things just took off. 18 months later, from the time he typed that first single word he had now finally completed his first novel.
Jacob lives in Houston, Texas but loves traveling to Portland, Maine and South Florida where he enjoys his private time with family and friends. When he’s not writing, Jacob devotes time to two charitable causes; child literacy and homeless programs. Hoping to one day donate 2 million dollars to public libraries and homeless shelters. Until then he will continue his dream of writing – one page at a time.
