Brady Ridgway is a South-African-born novelist, pilot and former casino executive whose writing career began with gritty articles on infantry weapons for Soldier of Fortune, Combat & Survival and Handgunner magazines.
A dozen years in the gaming world followed—starting as a croupier at Sun City and rising to casino manager in the Czech Republic—before he swapped roulette wheels for flying charters and peace-keeping missions across Africa, and then flying Boeing 737s for a regional airline.
Adventure still calls: when he isn’t at his desk, Ridgway and his wife Nicky roam the Mediterranean aboard their aluminum Ovni 435 sailing yacht, accompanied by their dog Lola.
Ridgway’s diverse life fuels his fiction. His Noah Stark thrillers—Elements of Risk and The Horn Mansion—blend military detail with global intrigue, while his new middle-grade tale, The Adventures of William Woodpecker, channels his passion for wildlife and environmental stewardship into a heart-warming story for young readers.
When ashore at their home in rural France, he divides his time between writing, photography and renovating a village house.

This action-packed "James Bondish" book is a winner. I was exhausted by the time I was finished reading. Sometimes a little far fetched, but a good adventure nonetheless. Thank you Goodreads Giveaways.

A very enjoyable read. Reading the book, I was a little put off by a small amount of the language, but did realize it fit the main character. But I found I kept picking the book up, wanting to know what was going to happen next and enjoying the author's style of writing. The author's writing was well laid out, interesting, and with light, humorous moments tucked in all over the place. The novel is fast paced, and I didn't know how it would actually end. I ended up very thoroughly enjoying the read and would definitely read another novel by the author.

I would’ve given this book a four, because parts of it were really intense, but other parts of it were too convoluted and confusing. Overall, I liked the book. The writing was good. The scene in the underwater plane was awesome and had my heart beating fast! That said, I don’t think I’ll be reading the rest of the series.
