Sophia Gray had only a few rules in life: keep a low profile at all times and always watch your back. As a powerful witch she has many useful spells, ones that are highly sought after by the vampire clan, forming an alliance that kept her somewhat protected. Life was cruising by peacefully until a mysterious shifter got his life accidentally tied up with hers. Now her once-peaceful existence was in danger, with vampires out to get her, no one to turn to – and a shifter who was too sexy for his own good.
As head of one of the most powerful shifter clans in the world, all Robbie Sebastian wanted was to live a quiet life. Unfortunately war seemed to be looming as the shaky truce between the vampire clan falls apart. Robbie finds himself resisting an intense primal attraction for a woman who he shouldn’t want – and he was going to fight it, no matter how irresistible she was…
A fantastic HEA read with NO CLIFFHANGER and the first of The Clan Legacy Series. Twists and turns that will keep you wanting MORE!
J.S. Striker lives on the west coast with her hubby and 2 Great Danes. The coast is full of magical forests, the mountains and ocean often giving her inspiration for her stories. Having worked as a social worker most of her adult life J.S. is now giving writing all her energy and loving every minute of it. Enjoy!
Was so bored by the end. There ended up being next to no dialogue between characters, just a lot of telling the reader about what was happening or what had happened. The sex scenes suffered from the same dissociation.
At the start of the story I kept felt like I was jumping in halfway through a moment when a character was on page. I just kept thinking when did that happen? I would have liked to see that interaction. How did the character find that info out?
So many shifter books are all about the male shifter discovering that the woman he dislikes/is very unsuitable/is his enemy is also his mate. Thankfully this had a much better and more original story line than this.
Witches, shifters and vampires all co-exist in this world, although not always peacefully and with very little love lost between them. In this book Robbie, unwilling acting head of the dragon shifters, becomes entangled with Sophia, a witch with vampire connections.
We join them in their quest to find out who is killing shifters and journey between New York and Ireland as the adventure slowly unravels and long-kept secrets are revealed.
I loved the very cocky and super-hot hero, Robbie and the tough, smart-mouthed heroine, Sophia. I really felt their connection, the chemistry between them was scorching, and thoroughly enjoyed following them as they embarked on a series of adventures and battles. The plot flowed smoothly and had good pace, keeping my interest from start to finish. The writing is good and not only could I follow the story easily I could also picture the people and places that were described.
Whilst this is a complete story for Sophia and Robbie (NO cliffhanger ending), and can be read as a stand alone, there is a background story that wasn't finished. I enjoyed this book enough to want to continue the story with the other dragon shifters.
I loved this story! Murders are being committed and it looks like paranormals. Robbie, the temporary dragon alpha, and Sophia, the vampire's resident witch are tasked by their respective counsels to check it out. Staking out a vamp bar, they have a run-in with a rogue vamp and bear shifter and made it out alive by the skin of their teeth. Before Sophia even knew his name, she nicknamed him "savior shifter". When she was compelled to save him everything changed for both of them. With the uneasy alliance between the two, they have a huge problem. Rogue vamps and shifters are coming out of the wood work with nothing on their mind but kill, kill, kill. The trick will be for Sophia and Robbie to find out what's going on and try to stop it, without dying in the process. Loved the beginning.
Sophie and Robbie have a less than auspicious first meeting where he is almost killed and she jeopardizes her future by saving his life and getting him help. She does not realize that her life saving technique of giving him some of her blood will bond them together. Oops. Her being a witch that works with vampires and him being a dragon shifter who is currently the head of his small clan does not make them perfect mates. Now the vampires are out to kill her and Robbie is her only hope to hide from them while a better solution is sought. Of course, Sophia had one more secret she isn't telling Robbie...
I feel cheated I got to 37% of the way through the book them it finished I thought I was buying a book that had over 300 pages 😕 not 3 different books or whatever it was. The book that the blurb is about was great and I can't wait to see what happens next hopefully it won't be as deceiving as this one was and will be as long as it says its going to be. I really did love the story and its deserving of 5 stars but because of it stopping before it was ment to I'm only giving 4 stars. Worth the read but
Sophia was a witch who worked for the vampires, her father was one. when Robbie saves her she is now on the list of kills for the vampires. when her father's second takes her and makes her a rogue robbie will be there to help. she saved his life by giving him blood to heal never knowing their fate was now sealed to each other.. loved all these..
Loved this book and can't wait to read the next on one in the series. J.S. Striker can certainly write a sex scene that'll make sure your toes curl. Shifter novels are my favorite, this is the first time I believe that I've read one that has more animal shifter possibilities than the expected bear, wolf, lion or dragon.
Sometimes you just don't want to read a whole book, sometimes it is great to just read a bunch of short stories. This is the book for you, then. It is a really good read.
💋 I love this book the plot is a little slow, but I enjoyed the characters for the most part. The heroine was a little bit of a bitch and she made me mad a couple of times. Hey I want a book to bring emotions out of me when I am reading. Even it’s not the best of moods.
I really liked this little novella about a dragon shifter and a shifter clan comprised of several different types of shifters. I found it entertaining and enjoyable.
The book started out really good but the author lost me along the way. There were too many unanswered questions for my liking. But I like the setup for the next book.

Sophia's a witch who arent necessarily liked all the well. However, they are liked a lot more than vampires. She works for the vampires as a healer and clean up when crap happens. When gruesome murders happen and she investigates and cleans up she runs into Robbie, a shape shifting dragon who investigating the deaths as well. When he gets injured she feeds him her blood not knowing the consequences. They are mated. Oopsy. Neither one is happy about it and can they solve this mystery without killing each other?
First and foremost I did like the book. I do have to agree with one other reviewer who mentioned the Prologue. It didnt make much sense when I got into the book after reading that. I have to assume Francesca was the victim they were discussing in the meeting in chapter 1? Assuming she was a shifter. I dont honestly know. They never mentioned her name or anything. I honestly think it should be taken out.
I liked the characters in the book. I think they could have been more developed slightly. I actually felt a little cheated that Sofia never got any closure with her father talk about mega disappointment for her. I liked Robbie and Sophia but there were times they annoyed me to no end with their back and forth feelings. At the beginning of Chapter 2 Sophia was bored. Chapter 2....still about the middle of it, Sophia was bored again. Just little things like that. I think it was a good book but it did have that rushed feeling around the end. Author was trying to push too much information at us and wrap it all up too quickly. Its not a mess but should be cleaned up a little. I think Henrik's whole thing was strange. His disappearance and then sudden appearance I just didnt buy.
I think the author did good work here. I also think she should write this as a series with a different character in each book. Write about the other characters because I did like them.
I enjoyed the story. It started off a little odd and I think it would have been even better if the author removed that opening scene of the teen being attacked. I thought I had the wrong book at first as it is confusing and does not add to the story.
Robbie and Sophia are an interesting pair. She is a witch with ties to the vampires and he is a dragon shifter who is temporarily alpha. The shifters and vampires have a tentative peace agreement but recent attacks jeopardize it. When these two meet, she does something that has unintended consequences. It creates a bond that neither wanted but both find hard to deny. I loved the chemistry between them.
There is a lot going on in the story and it definitely kept it interesting. I would like to see more stories featuring the characters and get more information on Sophia's past. I feel like we missed out on that and only got a hint at the end.

A bit of a slow start with a couple of unnecessary point of views but once it settled down into the story of Sophia and Robbie it began to come into its own. I liked how capable Sophia is, her strength and her independence. Robbie is a great partner for her, especially since he keeps it together when he realises what their blood exchange has accidentally done and despite the fact that she refuses to acknowledge it. The story is reasonably well written and has some twists, it is certainly good enough to keep your interest to the end. The world building is fairly well done and there are certainly plenty of options for where the series will go. A good read.
Sophia a powerful witch for the vampires. One night, a dangerous situation and a hot Shifter changes her world. Robbie for some reason can't leave Sophia alone as she goes off into the night. This leads him into danger and something he sure as hell didn't expect to happen.
Both so strong and stubborn. Stuck in a situation they need to try and get there heads round. It was a little slow at first, but once I got into and all the fun of these two being stuck together, I enjoyed it. Funny, heartbreaking, intense heat and death. I like Finn and would like to know who hooks him. I would've liked the ending fight scene to have more but was still good. I would definitely like to know what happens in the next book.

The book started off good, but then it kinda got messy -in a bad way. I felt the last third was rushed, leaving unexplained loop holes in the plot. This really took me away from the story, as I was focusing on those loop holes instead. It does end with an HEA for the couple, but with a decent set up for a series. The world building could have used a bit more, I felt like I missed a book or a prequel or something to explain some things that were going down. The flow was good until the last third of the book. The main characters were likable for the most part. Did not inspire me to want to continue with the series though.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book I loved it a which and a shiftier Sophia Gray has done some spells and had made a packed with the vampire pack and they protect her so everything was going good but know some how the shiftier is tied to her and they have to figurine out what happened Robbie Sebastian he is the head of his shiftier clan and he has had a primal need to go after Sophia Gray one he should not want and need as the vampire's and his clan have had a trues but now it is falling apart. Great book awesome characters and great story line Michelle
Switch off reality for a while and dive into an interesting world filled with magic portals, Vampires, witches, a range of shifters and of course Dragons. The story is a little complexed at times but as you read on it will unravel and reveal a great fantasy world filled with action, mystery and a raunchy romance.
I voluntarily read & reviewed this Advance Reader Copy.
This book was a bit tricky for me to follow. The opening sequence of events had me wondering if I was reading the correct book! Once I muddled through the beginning, it started making sense.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. It's not a plain and simple shifter story but a mixture of vampires - witches - shifters. Like all super natural combined. Some twists which made me sometimes wonder what's going on but i liked it. Looking for Finn's story.
