Prevarication, Deceitfully Yours
Jessica is a beautiful Creole nursing student whose life has not been easy. Her mother Anna Marie was murdered when Jessica was very young, and she was bounced between families within the foster care system. Some experiences were pleasant; some were Hell on Earth, especially since Jessica developed early into a highly-desirable teen. Now 18 years old and attending a university, she meets and falls in love with a young man named Justin at a party her roommate and friend Kayla urges her to attend. As their relationship develops, Justin gives her all that she needs emotionally, mentally, and financially. But there’s a kinky side to Jessica that wants more than Justin seems capable of giving her.
She begins a taboo relationship with Denver, one of her teachers, who is very experienced and more than happy to fulfill her sexual appetite. But he is married, with two daughters who attend the same college where he teaches…and where Jessica is also a student.
Through Denver, Jessica experiences the darker, kinkier world she has longed for. An additional shock, but heightened pleasure, occurs when not only does Amore, Denver’s wife, know of the affair – she happily joins in for a highly erotic threesome.
Meanwhile, from things Jessica tells him, Justin realizes what she wants and, because he loves her, he is determined to become more dominant and willing to “man up”, so to speak, to satisfy her wildest desires.
But Denver and Amore’s daughters discover the affair and one of them exposes the truth to the dean of the university. Not only does this cause controversy about the ethics of the school and one of its teachers, but it also illuminates the story of the ultimate separation of Amore and Denver because he wants to spend more time with Jessica. The scandal catches the attention of the public through a blazing front page story in the local newspaper.
Kayla tries to give comfort and clarity to Jessica as her love life grows more twisted, but Kayla is tortured with her own personal situation with her mother, who turned a blind eye when Kayla was raped by her mother’s husband. She has an encounter with her mother, who is still hateful toward her, saying that Kayla “caused” the rape. But her mother has another message – Kayla’s real father has just passed away.
Kayla leaves for Okinawa to bury him and attend to his final affairs, leaving Jessica to fend for herself regarding her murky and dangerous love life. Justin is aware of Jessica’s affair, but has been an eager student of hers and finds that their sexual escapades are thrilling for him, too, though he still has a softer side.
When he takes her one day to spend quality time with his mother Kimberly, it’s unknowingly revealed that, in an eerie coincidence, Kimberly was once beaten by Charlie Daniels, the same man who killed Jessica’s mother. It’s more than Jessica can bear and she abruptly leaves, saying she needs time alone. In truth, she intends to visit Charlie Daniels in prison, to discover the truth about both situations, and to uncover whether he may have been her real father.
Before the story ends, Denver is found dead, Kayla returns a married woman, and Jessica will make a major decision that will affect the rest of her life.

I received this book almost a year ago and somehow over looked it in my reading material, I know, I'm hanging my head. This is the first book from Monica Smith I've read and as I started to write my review found out it was no longer in print, which is a shame. The storyline flowed easily with a plot flowing through with a fast paced action. The characters are completely relatable all flawed from a troubled past. Definitely worth a read if you can find in your library.

That was a third book in a row that I read that contained kinky sex, and I have to admit that ‘Prevarication: Deceitfully Yours’ was my favorite one. The story was refreshing, as it didn’t focus on sex and romance only but also contained many sub stories. The plot was interesting and it was impossible to get bored thanks to the fast-paced action. Actually all of the main characters were haunted by the dark past, about which they’d like to forget. There was an affair, a threesome, an unwanted fame, a trip to Las Vegas and even a crime – all interspersed with love and sex. I undoubtedly recommend this book!

A brilliant exploration of love, deceit, kinky sex and sexual discovery.
Monica has opened the book with an excellent orientation that flows into a great plot.
The characters are really well developed.
The sex is erotic and quite explicit but is not porn.
I gave this 5 stars.
Definitely want more from Monica.
