Survivor. Savage. Sovereign.

A lone woman crosses the stars, in search of a tribe to belong to.

Stranded on a wild ancient world, Tabitha finds herself fighting tooth and claw to survive an alien wilderness and the coming winter. Tested to the limits of her endurance, she finds that her evolution is far from over.

Back in the ruins of New York, an unhinged mutation butchers his world’s invaders. With all the power of a god to rain down on them, he may even convince them to leave his city alone to grow. His way.

In a distant galaxy, four figures plot to hijack an empire of worlds. There’s a new planet on the frontier; wild, undeveloped and out of bounds. And with enough natural resources to fund the biggest private army in history. With a secret, highly illegal mining expedition bought and paid for, there’s only one thing standing in their way: a simple tribe of native savages, and their mythic warrior queen.

I'm Andrew, a human. My first novel, Tabitha, is a science fiction which mixes aliens and superpowers with a post-apocalyptic world. It explores ideas about human nature, our place in the world, and how cool it is to battle swarms of alien spiders.

Tabitha's sequel, Sky Queen, takes her further into the realms of sci-fi action – with plenty of survival, strange abilities and huge explosions. Tabitha's third book, Ghost, completes her epic trilogy in an all-action grand finale.

Eventhough I didn't enjoy it as much as the first, this still a good solid read. And I'm definitely looking forward the 3rd book as well.

This book goes in a different direction than the first installment. While it is interesting to read about the protagonist's journey into finding a world where she belongs, it is a bit convenient that every sentient alien she meets have a lot in common with humans. The setting is expansive but not very diverse in terms of culture and behavior. It was a missed opportunity to show something that is more exotic.

A True Adventure

I have read over 700 books with my kindle. Even more thanks to Kindle Unlimited. No other book has haunted me like Tabitha’s story. It’s one of the few precious book I always come back to. It’s has everything I desire in an story and more. Adventure, Aliens, and of course a Female Lead who is smart strong... and feels real. Reading about her just sucks me in and interested!!
I feel like I’ve been waiting centuries for the next book, and I’d wait more.... I can wait patiently for a new book, as long as it Does arrive someday!

Want the next one.

As good as the first one. It strings you along, spins you and spits you out all in one chapter. Some parts are depressing, some stirring and others high as a kite.

If i have one gripe its how tabitha can go from struggling to beat someone in a fist fight to slauthering living metal constucts. I thing she needs to stay a little more badass given the later.

Still a great book, read it.

This story gets better and better.

I was vicariously empathising with all of Tabatha's trials & tribulations when hard pressed by enemies.
Looking forward to the next book in the trilogy.

Excellent read

Better than the first in the trilogy. Moves faster with better action and very believable characters. Tabitha has grown into a heroine, not a whiner. Much better all around. Looking forward to the next installment in the series.

Wow. Just... wow. Having already been blown away completely by book 1 my anticipation levels for Sky Queen were sky high, and now I've finished it saying I was not disappointed feels like something of an understatement. To anyone who hasn't read the Tabitha series yet I highly recommend starting it-- you're missing out on something very special.

This action packed sequel follows a former human, now mutated alien hybrid as she attempts to find a place for herself in the aftermath of an unimaginably devastating alien invasion. I don't want to risk leaving spoilers in case anyone who hasn't read part 1 yet sees this review, so I won't talk about the plot events in great detail. But sheesh, what a plot. SO MUCH happens in Sky Queen. It's an absolute roller coaster of a journey, taking you to far away planets, dropping you into life or death struggles against monstrous creatures, touring through otherworldly halls of power to the heart of dangerous alien politics. It never feels overwhelming or like overkill though. Every detail is perfectly connected, each stage of the book flowing easily into the next. I've never read anything quite like it, an elaborate scifi epic brilliantly crafted. Despite the long length of this novel it still leaves you wanting more.

The only negative moments for me occur in the early-ish chapters. A rescue mission felt like it should've happened slightly sooner given the bond between the characters involved, and recurring fight scenes against one particular foe start to come across as a little repetitive. But the overall sheer quality of the book more than makes up for this.

Just like in book 1 Andrew Hall's narration and descriptions are vivid, thought provoking, moving and poetic. I absolutely love his writing style. The sudden plot twists are amazing and the action scenes almost leave you breathless, their incredible conclusion ultimately setting one hell of a stage for book 3. I have no idea how this series is going to end, but I know for sure I'll be very sorry once I have finished it. Mind-blowing magic

As much as I loved the first book in this series, I found myself loving this one even more. From the get-go, the story was enthralling. From the melancholy search for a new world to the discovery of something wild and challenging, I was fully along for the ride. I really loved how the first portion of "Sky Queen" focused on Tabitha's survival, taking everything away from her and breaking her down to nothing only for her to bounce back stronger.

At the beginning I wasn't sure about all the different POV characters in this novel. We followed a few extra characters than we do in the first book in the series, and I wasn't particularly enthused by this, as the tone seemed a little jarring. But I accepted that Tabitha's universe was expanding, and by the middle of "Sky Queen" it all came together in a smart and exciting way.

I also loved how thoughtfully and creatively the author portrayed Tabitha interacting with various alien cultures and learning their ways.

The action was fantastic, the tech was neat, and the plot was never boring. Unlike the first novel, which dragged for a while in the middle, the pace was always driving, even during quiet moments. The only thing that bothered me regarding the plot is that it could have ended after a particularly exciting battle about 85% through and have felt narratively satisfying, so the fact that it continued on for a while after that felt unnecessary . . . UNTIL THE PLOT TWIST.

I'm trying not to give anything away, so forgive me for being vague, but you NEED to read this book. The writing is great, the characterization is great, and the scifi world-building is phenomenal.

What a week and ineffectual character I’m glad this book only had a trilogy.

I don’t know what the author was attempting with this character. Part of the time she was courageous, other time she was very indecisive, in other words wishy-washy. Was she trying to be a queen a.k.a. a liter or a cryin Little girl. Her powers did not develop during the first two books as I probably would’ve liked them too. The Dragon is the star of the show. I walked away from the first book without a review because my opinion was very mixed. So I waited a wild before I read the second chapter. So that my perspective would not be tainted. I do like the characters I just do not like his portrayal of Tabatha. Probably will not read the last book in the series

I would drop these books if I didn't like Tabitha and her friends so much. I just don't believe the Watcher and Ministry's motivations. I get wanting resources from new planets, but the wintry minister also stated that in the vastness of space there are plenty of empty habitable planets. So why are these people bothering to fight over planets with people on them?!

And all of that ignores the recycled plot.

In classic middle act style, Sky Queen throws Tabitha's continuing story wide open. Not only does it further explore her developing character, but it introduces whole new characters, angles and possibilities, expanding the scope far beyond the first book. There's esoteric alien technologies and exotic races abound, but non of them feel hackneyed, and everyone has they're own motivations. After finishing it I marvelled at how far the title character had come on her journey, and found myself eager to find out where she would go next.
