Kim once smashed into a tree while skiing. The accident led to a concussion, a cracked sternum, temporary notoriety as a sixth grader returned from the dead, and the realization that fictionalized accounts are way more interesting than just slipping on the ice.

An unhealthy obsession with conspiracy theories combined with a love of travel and happily ever afters led Kim to write her YA novel, Starr Fall, where a secret organization decides 17 year old Starr Bishop is not only the model student, but the ideal assassin. While in hiding, Starr meets dark, moody, and dead sexy Christian Evergood. Cue the swoon worthy music. But it’s not all happily ever afters for Kim. Her NA novel, And Then He, explores the dark and scary corners of the human psyche. Following a night of innocent flirting with a handsome stranger, Tiffani finds herself in the midst of a nightmare she can’t escape. And Then He is available now through Amazon and other major book retailers. Starr Fall will debut November 2016 with Inkspell Publishing, followed by Starr Lost in January 2017.

When she’s not doing something writerly, Kim can be found jumping into snow drifts with her three kids, husband, and dog. She’s careful to avoid trees.

Starr Lost is the second installment in the Starr Fall trilogy and picks up exactly where Starr Fall ended except for a short prologue which summarizes the events of the first book.

Still on run from the Organization, Starr and Christian find protection in the Qualla boundaries. Christian's cousins Ben and Coda join them on their quest for hunting out the Organization and so does Starr's old friends, Frank and Di. These six closely knit teenagers are determined to uncover all secrets of the mysterious Organization and seek revenge for the murder of Starr's two best friends. Along with some action, this book is full of emotional turmoils, loyalty and betrayals. The narration is dual point of view, one of Starr's and the other of Di's. Slightly unconventional yet fiercely loyal, Di's character was refreshing and it was fun reading the events from her POV.

When I started with this series, I was under the impression that its a YA thriller with a dash of romance, or so it seemed from the premise. Even though the first book was a bit heavy on the romance side, I didn't mind that much because it seemed necessary for the plot and overall Starr Fall was a promising start to what I expected to be a story filled with thrill and anticipation. However, I was slightly disappointed in Starr Lost, primarily because it is focused much more on the relationship dynamics of the characters rather than the plot. I can think of no major development that took place within the first half of the book. The discovery of who is behind the Organization was too abrupt and very coincidental. I agree that coincidences happen and are more than necessary in stories like these, but they need to be melded smoothly in order to appear believable. This felt more like a YA romance with a dash of suspense.

I wish there was more on the Organization, we hardly got anything in the last book either, maybe we'll get all of it in the final installment? I really hope the finale would bring with itself tons of action and answers to all the questions, most of which are still left unanswered.

In spite of all its shortcomings, I can't deny Starr Lost was quick and fun read and that cliffhanger at the end was wholly unexpected. I am quite interested in finding out how it all ends up in Starr Gone.

4 STARRS

From what little I know, I could be happy here. I could be very happy here. I'm just not sure I want to play house while the Organization exacts their brand of justice on innocent people.

In the continuation of the series Starr Fall, we see our hero and heroine in an adventure that seems to be getting riskier and riskier with every step they take. I loved that this one had suspense, scenes with an adrenaline rush, characters that shocked me and actions that shocked me even more. I enjoyed reading about the character development in most of them and I can't wait to read more about these characters further. Especially Di and Frank, but also Ben and Coda. I feel like I'm so invested to these characters and I want them all to survive the mess they got themselves into.

He creates a charge so powerful we could generate our owwn electricity.

The plot twist near the end somehow became clear to me through the book. If you could ask me about it at the first book I would be shocked as hell, but somehow while reading the second book, it became clear about it. I wasn't a big fan of the particular plot twist, but nonetheless I am truly excited to read more about it and see where this goes.

If you're looking for a sweet, but also suspenseful story, this is the one you have to pick! I'm looking forward to reading the last installment in the series and see the conclusion of it.

This is the second book of the Starr Fall series. The author was so generous that she gave me a copy of this book to review. Thank you again, Kim Briggs. I am also honored to be a part of your exclusive team of bloggers and reviewers - Kim's Rising Starrs.

The story picked up right where Starr Fall left off. The story focused more on Starr and Christian's developing relationship. How they crossed the line between two strangers in high school to people who trust each other with their lives. Christian is now heavily invested on Starr. Starr also is now so attached to Christian. This story also talked about Starr, Christian and their friends' plan to try to bring down the Organization. They wanted it to pay for all the crimes it has committed, especially for taking the young lives of Starr's two best friends.

A lot of revelations were in this book. Feelings, family secrets and other things. The ending was also very shocking and it left me thinking, how in hell did that happen? Definitely, the series is promising to be more suspenseful and I can't wait to read the next book. With that being said, I think I liked the first book than this one but the host of revelations had me wanting for more. The best part of this book was the ending. It was such an "OMG" moment.

One other thing I liked about this book was getting to know more of Starr friends--Di and Frank. These two put life into this story. Their personalities helped made the story less of a monotone. I am looking forward to still having these two in the next book. I am looking forward to their wisecrack comments and conversations.

I give this book 3/5 blueberry muffins. I am rooting for Starr and her friends to put a face and name on the man behind the Organization and to expose them to the world for all the bad things they have done. This actually reminds me of the TV series Nikita. Nikita (Starr would have been like Nikita if she had accepted the Organization's offer) was trained by Division to become an agent. Division is similar to the Organization. It recruits and trains mostly orphans, addicts, and runaways to become agents for this super secret government organization. Division takes care of highly classified operations within the US and around the world. Later in the series, the head of Division turned rogue and started doing assassination assignments by whoever is willing to pay the price. I am hoping that the Organization is not a government sanctioned secret operation because it would a Herculean feat for Starr and friends to bring it down.

I envy these carefree people living their busy lives, with places to go and money to spend.

This review is also on my blog: Adele Is Reading.

Starr Lost is the second book in the Starr Fall series by Kim Briggs. The series is a Young Adult Thriller. I really enjoyed the first book, Starr Fall, so when I was asked by the author to read and review Starr Lost I hopped onto the chance and said yes!

The beginning of Starr Lost starts with a prologue. Which is great since I absolutely enjoyed and appreciate the fact that the prologue of Starr Lost is a quick recap of the events in the last book, Starr Fall.

What’s different about Starr Lost from Starr Fall is that the point of views aren’t just from Starr anymore. There’s a second point of view as well. And while the majority of the view in Starr Lost is from Starr herself, the second view point is from Di. I didn’t know if I would end up liking Di’s point of view at all, but I realized that I actually enjoyed Di’s view on things. Di’s point of view brings the story to another level because we aren’t just given the low-down on everything from Starr. So having Di’s POV is refreshing.

Starr is still Starr; in the sense that Starr hasn’t really changed all that much in character growth. Starr’s very heavy minded about her decisions and once she’s made up her mind, there’s little to no chance at changing it. And Starr still has her almost freakishly accurate sixth sense to her.

While Starr Lost was still on the small side (in iBooks on my phone the total amount of pages is 497) there were quite a few things that happened. Without spoiling anything major… 1. There were a few characters that reconnect(ed) with each other., 2. There is nothing within or surrounding the Organization is as it seems.., and finally, 3. Just like the ending in Starr Fall, Starr Lost ends in a cliffhanger. — Which I don’t particularly mind.

I ended up giving Starr Lost, 2.5 of 5 stars.

Happy Reading!

First things first the first book to this trilogy 'Starr Fall' was alright but enjoyable however... the second book had been so hard to put down and has left me craving for the third book.
Kim Briggs has added more action to this story keeping it faced paced, and leaving no chance for a dull moment!
and ummm how about that ending...
I just had to get that out before I started the more detailed review.
Score:
Romance:5/5
Violence:1/5
Mystery:3/5
Magic: 0/5
Swearing: 3/5
Writing: 4/5
Emotions: 4/5
Publishing:3/5
Book cover: 5/5
Age reccomendation: 14+
Over All Score: 4/5

Writing
Okay so in the first book Kim's writing was very basic, good but basic. In the second book the writing has imroved drasticly! Her detail has doubled showing good description but also good emotional feel. Her writing while detailed wasn't over detailed and didn't create a complicated book, Starr Lost was a nice chill book (Which is my favourite kind). Kim picked up right where she left off from the first book and I'm very very thankful for that.
I could also feel the description of the charcters better and Kim Briggs was able to capture the thoughts and feelings of the different kinds of 'types' of teenagers.
I also enjoyed how she added a second charcter perspective. I did get a little lost in one or two spots as to whos perspective I was in but I still felt I got a better look at the action with the two point perspective.
I love how Kim has made this book with double action while still sharing the pages with romance. Just loving the action!
Aswell as a mind twisting ending leaving me twitching for book 3 in June!
The only thing I didn't like was the swearing. I absolutly hate swearing in books.
Publishing:
I did have an E-book copy but still the font and colouring of the words didn't leave them running into each other so I wasn't double reading my sentances.
The book cover again was awesome and what did draw me to the book!

So yes I will reccommed the Starr series to anyone who loves a good action romance novel, as I'm really enjoying it. I've flown through the first book in half a day and I'm just dying for the third book!
What an awesome job you have done Kim Briggs in making a reader who isn't that keen on romance novels fall in love with this action packed romance book!

Happy reading

Still on the run from the organization; Things are getting more intense now, Starr is determined to get revenge from the organization, and when Starr Bishops wants something, she gets it !
But what makes the whole situation more bearable is that She finds the comfort and the love of a real family between Coda and Ben, Christian's cousins, and her best friends Di and Frank, who came immediately to her rescue.
But with the new relationship of Starr and Christian and the arrival of Di and Frank, things are about to get more complicated and fun with two love triangles and some unresolved emotions.

I gave the first book 4 stars, but damn, it gets better, this one is more than just 5 stars, I couldn't put it down, it was that good.
Kim Briggs, let me tell you, you are brilliant; I had fun reading this book, I really did.
I was actually laughing in the chapters from Di's perspective, she is really funny and dark, after all, she's the devil's concubine, right?
The love between Starr and Christian is growing and they are actually really cute together, their scenes were my favorite thing about the book.
The action scenes in this book are way better and more intense than the first book, I get adrenaline rushes whenever Starr comes up with an idea!
and the end!?? are you kidding me? how could you do that to me? that was a hell of a cliffhanger.
I absolutely loved the romance in this squeal and I can't wait to get my hand on book 3 xxox.

" I did. it didn't matter how much I tried to bury my old life. every time I saw Starr, I would remember. Every time I saw her in class. Every time I saw her in the halls. She made me remember, and I hated her for it. Then when you told me about her visit to your house. I had to find her. I didn't have a choice, I didn't want a choice. Am I in love with her? Yes. s she in love with me? Yes. we're meant to be together. I'm my old self, only better. she makes me happy. She makes me remember the good times in my life, and with her, the bad times aren't so bad."

No spoilers!

Okay! This book to me was much more enjoyable to me than the first one! I loved the involving of Di and Frank as well as Jude whilst still containing parts about Starr and Christian’s relationship evolving.

Like Kings Cage (my previous read and review) I really liked the multiple POV’s of Starr and Di. It was so awesome to see Di’s perspective on everything as well as how she felt in different parts of the book. The only thing that I slightly disliked was changing the POV in the middle of a chapter. Even though it was obvious who was speaking next and there was the page breaker that kind of split it, I felt it a little bit confusing and then I was sometimes thinking it was Starr when it was Di and vice versa.

One of my favourite parts which Kim Brigg’s did brilliantly was splitting the book into interesting parts. Let me explain what I mean. During the first book, it involved alot about Christian and Starr but what was good was Coda and Ben were involved further along into the book. This book was amazing because alot of different characters were involved (which I loved) and the plot was never off track. They were constantly searching for information about the Organization but other fun parts were still involved. Ya know what I mean? 😉

I also really enjoyed Starr and Christian’s relationship evolving as well as Frank and Di’s friendship.

Can we please take a moment to appreciate that cliffhanger? I’m not going to go into detail but…… WOW! I’m actually scared and very excited for the next book!

Overall I rate this book 4/5 stars! I reallyyyyy enjoyed this book much more than the first one!

Also, thank you again Kim for sending me this! Bring on the third and final!!!!

Starr Lost takes off where Starr Fall ended. Starr doesn't rest, instead she is busy putting together a team to fight the Organization. Her discoveries about who is behind it are shocking, most of all for Starr. But that is not the only surprise awaiting her. Once Di and Frank join the team, the action moves from fighting the bad guys to sorting out their personal relationships. Tension is high and there is a lot of teenage angst going around.

The story is told from Starr's and Di's points of view and their narrative voices are very distinct which added to the appeal of the story. What I also really liked were the Cherokee Indians' stories and traditions because that helped situate the story in the environment and added background to some of the characters.

After all the suspenseful build-up in this novel, I'm expecting an epic battle in the last instalment.

I loved this one just like the first book in this awesome trilogy and can't wait for the third and last one to sum things up! Christian was just as good in this book as he usually is, quenching my thirst for a protective, sweet and strong male love interest. But what was just as good was the fact that our female lead really came out of her shell, even stronger and more independent than usual.

This second instalment had a bit of a feel of waiting around for something to happen, like a big drama or something similar, however this fit well into the cliff hanger ending.

The rest of the 'gang' really got to shine in this book too which I really enjoyed, expanding into more characters to love.

The ending was really, really good. But kind of in a way where you want to throw your phone or book at a wall, because it really does leave you on the edge of your seat!

Okay so Kim once again sent me this book for review (thank you Kim you're a star!) and after reading Starr Fall I didn't think anything could top that at all. Then I read this book and OH MY GOD WAS I WRONG! This book was just amazing, the characters were so well described, I love that we now have a different POV of the story, and there's that sense of family in there too. It's not all about the love story, or the suspense there's such a nice hidden tone of the fact family doesn't need to be blood relatives, sometimes in your time of need, the people around you become your family. I just loved it, and the ending was INCREDIBLE. It's safe to say that I need the next book now and I am so excited to see where it goes from now on! Kim you are a star ⭐

Take six strong-willed teens, lock them in a safe house headquarters, and all the emotional tensions of friendship, unrequited love, requited love, jealously, and loyalty play out. Then set them loose to investigate the mysterious Organization, and devastating secrets start to unravel. As Starr begins to discover her true history, her drives, her talents, the book title becomes ironic--she may be hidden, but she's finding her power and place. Her best friends from book one, Di and Frank, step on stage to develop an intriguing presence of their own, not just as satellites to Starr. And watch out for a last minute twist that leaves you reaching for Book Three!

Starr Fall left me thirsty for more. Starr Lost has me on the edge of my seat waiting for June! YA fiction has become one of my favorite genre because most of the time the stories are fast paced and intriguing. The Starr series has kept me up until I finished the books. Starr Lost has many twists and turns that I never saw coming. Each chapter left me thirsty for more as I followed the characters on their mission for justice.

Picking up where the last book left off, we dive deeper into the mystery of the organization and get a whole lot of teenage drama in this one. I have to say that Starr was really starting to frustrate me in this one with the way she acted. I loved the addition of Di, she's quite an entertaining character.
The twist at the end was priceless leaving the story in a cliff hanger and I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Okay, where do I start? This book was fantastic, I loved each and every page of it. I've been in the worst reading slump this year so it took me a while to finish this book, but let me tell you this! NO MATTER HOW BAD YOUR READING SLUMP IS, YOU'LL KEEP THINKING OF THIS BOOK AND DYING TO KNOW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN NEXT!
What's interesting about reading this book over a long period of time is that I grew to love it even more, whenever I was feeling down or anxious I just turned on my phone and read and when I reached the end of this book, it hit me how much it actually helped and how much it made me laugh and giggle even when I didn't feel like it (I would like to thank Di for this. I love you)
Starr's character development is out of this world. She becomes more decisive and THIS. GIRL. KNOWS. EXACTLY. WHAT. SHE. WANTS. YAAAAAAASSSSSS GIRL! I love how she gets some alone time to deal with her grief and most importantly I LOVE HOW SHE DOESN'T TAKE SHIT FROM OTHER PEOPLE! YOU KEEP BEING YOU, STARR BISHOP.
Now let's talk about my child, the love of my life and everything good in this world. Di aka. The Devil's Concubine LOL! The love I have for this one character makes me want to cry! Di maybe rough around the edges, she has a sharp tongue but this girl has a heart of gold. Starr is leading this team, but my child (Di) is holding it all together.

The friendships formed and the love between this group is so heartwarming and beautiful!
Last but not least, I am ending this review with some of my favorite quotes!. So . . SPOILERS

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*
*GO READ THE BOOK FIRST*
*SERIOUSLY THOUGH... SPOILERS*

- "I am no longer in modern day Cherokee. I am at the beginning. The creation of all people where harmony and balance are the rule, not the exception. A time when people live in rhythm with their surroundings, not in spite of it. I want to celebrate life. I want to dance. I need to dance. The music pulses through every pore of my being. The fire mesmerizes me. My body moves to the beat of the drum and my partner moves with me. No restraint. No control. Just movement. Two halves moving as one."

- "I smile at him. A full-on toothy smile. A smile I haven't allowed myself to give for two years, and you know what, I don't want to bash Starr's head in for stealing Christian. I don't want to rip out Christian's intestines for breaking my heart. My heart's really not that broken, and I think it has to do with my singing and my smiling and all the people squeezed into this van."

Oh Di, you're good at brining tears of joy to my eyes!

- "Somewhere in the middle of the chaos, I found a family I would risk my life for, and Starr's the one who brought us all together. Someday I need to thank her for all she's given me."

AND THIS ICONIC QUOTE:
- "This church is no place for the likes of you. You are not ready to hear the word of God dressed like the devil's concubine. We do not welcome the devil or his mistress" and then Di storming out of the church screaming "The hell with y'all" I love her....
LOOOOOOOOOOOOL I'LL NEVER GET OVER THIS!

Starr Lost is the second book in the Starr Fall trilogy, and picks up exactly where Starr Fall left off. It's a fictional novel that follows the story of Starr and Christian as they try to escape the mysterious Organization with the help of several friends (Ben and Coda, Christians cousins, and Di and Frank, Starrs old friends). With the combination of Coda's humour, Frank/Christians disputes, the mysterious and intriguing information found on the Organization, and the plethora of love interests within the group of them, you'll never want to put this book down. I love how this book is written, the style, the storyline, all of it. Each of the characters are so different and wonderful, but they fit together so well and make the story all the more interesting. Starr Lost is a beautifully written, light novel with and well balanced mix between romance and action. Also, Starr and Christians relationship is honestly so cute!!! I love that Christian is so strong and dependable but Starr is still very capable. The ending though! It came so unexpected to me and the cliffhanger left me needing to know what happened! This book contains so many twists and turns that I was unable to become bored of it, and can't wait for the next one! 4.5/5 starrs!! -Maizie :)

"Starr Lost" picks up where we left off with "Starr Fall" and we look a little closer at The Organization. Who's behind it? How far are they willing to go to get Starr? She teams up with Christian and her friends to solve the mystery of who is The Organization and that is where things get interesting! While solving the mystery of who is the organization, what was more interesting was the mystery of their personal lives. There was the love quadruple going on. Starr and Christian love each other but Frank is in love with Starr and Di is in love with Christian, but they're all supposed to be friends! Can they keep it together long enough to solve this mystery or will their personal lives lead The Organization right to them?

OMG... talk about being on the edge of your seat! Twists and turns everywhere! Finding out who created The Organization, didn't see that coming! Starr Lost ended in such the perfect way that has me excited for book 3. I cannot wait!

First off let me give a huge thank you to Kim Briggs for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

This book picks up right where book 1 ends.

There was a lot of romance and teenage drama/jealously in this book compared to the first one. And once again it left me with so many unanswered questions which is good in a way because it makes me want to continue this series to find out what happens.

I really want to know more about the Organization—you’re killing me Kim. Lol just kidding...good things come to those who wait. Although we do start to get small pieces of the big puzzle that is the Organization in this book.

I totally hope Di & Frank hook up they deserve happiness too and I think they’d be uber adorable.

That cliff hanger though...wow...😱 ((speechless)) I can’t say I didn’t see that coming. Although I’m pretty oblivious and can’t predict things most of the time 😅

Overall I give Starr Lost a 3.5/5 ⭐️ and can’t wait to continue the series with Starr Gone.

Thanks again Kim for letting be a part of your Rising Starrs.

Oh my goodness. With sequels I never go in reading with high hopes, but my expectations were certainly higher than usual after finishing Starr Fall in one day. Great news! My high expectations were certainly met with the crazy twists and turns hidden in this seemingly low-key book.

To be completely honest, I felt like this book was a lot of planning. However, bringing in Di and Frank certainly added some much needed excitement. Going from Starr's POV to Di's kept the pace up and helped usher out any feelings of "Well what was everyone else doing?". I can't say much, but trust me when I say the plot has definitely thickened. The Organization has basically infiltrated the most human way of thinking: Religion. I just cannot contain my excitement for Book 3!!!

So thank you to Kim Briggs for writing an absolutely amazing and definitely worthy follow-up!

Starr Lost picks up right where the first book, Starr Fall lets off. Starr is on a mission to bring down the Organization and she is not doing it alone!

There is plenty of friendship, jealously, unrequited love, lots of love, and some action.

I have to say I love Frank way more than Christian. Christian just seems so needy and overly protective to me. But Starr seems to like those qualities in him. I am Team Frank all the way though. I love how there was more of Di and Frank in this book and I really like Ben and Coda too. Jude gives me the chills and Starr is the same strong willed girl from the first novel!

Di even gets her own POV chapters in some parts of the story. Di definitely is a dark and hilarious character. Someone I’d definitely would have been friends with in high school!

The end has an amazing last minute twist and that made want to read Starr Gone as soon as possible. These books are great, smoothly written reads that I read in one sitting! I recommend this to anyone who loves a good action and romance, contemporary read!

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

We got some answers. Not many, but some. There is still so much I want to know!!

I'm not liking an aspect of the Organization so far. I was hoping it would have been something entirely different. Anything else actually, but I really, really, REALLY wish it didn't bring the church into it. There has been a lot of that in fiction already. After all the build up, I was hoping for something more unique for the Organization. Hopefully, all is not how it seems though. As you'll also find out in this book, the Organization and those within it are pretty crafty, so maybe things were a set up, and the characters are barking up the wrong tree.

I really liked the prologue in the beginning. It was nice to have a little reminder of what we read in the first book to refresh the story line. I wish more authors would do that.

I still don't trust all of the characters, but they are fun so far. They make a pretty good & entertaining team too. There was a lot of making out between Starr and Christian. Their relationship was a heavy focus of this story.

This time around we get Di's point of view along with Starr's. Her perspective was nice to have. She gave us a different look at some things. I love this author's writing style. It pulls me in. The pacing is quick, and it keeps my attention.

I'm ready to get to the real meat and potatoes of what's going on with the Organization! Bring it Organization! Bring it!

I liked meeting the new characters and learning more about the old ones. I had hoped to read more about the big bad "Organization" but the book seemed to focus more on the characters meeting and Starr and Christian's relationship. The fact that they couldn't keep their hands off each other or control themselves when the Big Bad is out there was a big story disrupter. We don't get much story line of them fighting the Organization in this book and I was excited to see how things would turn out after Starr Fall.
