The book was written at the time when the intellectuals were trying to make an effect on young children by story telling, a very special time of the history. However, since I still enjoy reading children's books I enjoyed this one too, especially because it brings me to the time that apparently many things was more meaningful (like the ones this book try to teach children). The vintage illustrations are unique and original and the traditional stories still hasn't lost their sense.

A childhood favorite book that I reread with my son. My son liked the animal stories in this book too. For me, it was pure nostalgia!

Dieses Buch habe ich schon als Kind geliebt, und meine Söhne lieben es auch. Den Krapfen kann ich schon auswendig!
