Quantum Vibe: Venus 23

Rate this book
One thousand years from Bolivar Eustace Clark, or “Bok” to his friends, is missing his father and trying to cope with life on a backwater colony world known as “Zytemonde” to its inhabitants. The android rulers of Zytemonde take care of humans’ material needs, but also control every aspect of their lives. And for some reason everything seems to be decaying. And the history they’re taught doesn’t make sense. But a visitor to this world, working behind the scenes, has been fomenting subversion, managing a clandestine network of misfits involved with forbidden trade, both in technology and a mind-expanding substance known as “tartar sauce.” When Bok and his friends meet this visitor, they are transported to a very different world, one with advanced technology where people are free to pursue their own goals. And they must figure out how they can rescue Zytemonde’s creative sparks or even avert the colony’s eventual collapse. Quantum Venus 23 is the fourth volume in the Quantum Vibe series. 186 pages.

I love graphic novels but do not get to read nearly enough of them. I really enjoyed this read. This is a well drawn graphic novel with the writing just as good as the art. I have not read the earlier novels, but did not feel lost or confused, so this works well as a stand alone graphic novel. The nature of the novel is original and compelling. For sci-fi lovers, this is a must read.

Venus 23

Wasn't sure what was going on at first the time jump threw me off. Once I realized what was going on, it made sense. It's still a lot of fun. I'm going on to the next book.
