Taking Inspiration from Michael Phelp's way training, the author puts down the step of creating your own Mental Movie Method.

I can only review the book, but the effectiveness of the method can only be rated after it's tested.

So will complete the remaining review after I take action towards creating my own Mental Movie.

I only wish the author had cut down on some of the blabbering !!!

An excellent tool to learn how to make mental movies

Since the first time I saw Apollo 13 with Tom Hanks, I learned that peak performers rehearse over and over again until they master the task they are doing. NASA it’s the first example, gold medal athletes and the good news is that you can do it too.

This book teaches you five principles.

“Give me a one-page bullet-list of exactly what I should do.” – Alwyn Cosgrove

Chicago author Raza Iman has written several successful books on health and fitness – UNCONVENTIONAL FITNESS TIPS, THE SCIENCE OF GETTING RIPPED, HOW TO BURN BELLY FAT, THE LEAN BODY EXPERIMENT, and he tops these off with a cookbook to support the intake of foods that in turn support his passion for the lean body – 17 EPICLY SIMPLE FAT BURNING MEALS IN 12 MINUTES OR LESS. Now that he has helped prepare our body and diet he steps into the arena of tending to our mind with 30 DAYS OF FOCUS: THE STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO SUPERCHARGE YOUR PRODUCTIVITY AND CRUSH YOUR GOALS IN THE NEXT 30 DAYS and this current THE MENTAL MOVIE METHOD. And if Raza is the model for the images in this book….then take heed. As he states in biographical notes, ‘I'm not a 22 year old fitness guru. I'm not an "Instagram hottie" I don't live or work in a gym. I don't have chefs prepare my meals for me. I'm a busy father of 3 young kids. I work in IT for a major hospital in Chicago with a 2 hour daily commute. I have to (and like to) eat my wife's cooking - which doesn't always stick to my "macros" I go to birthday parties, and barbecues, and business lunches, and family gatherings. But I've figured out how to stay in shape despite all of that. So I decided to become a Kindle author to write about my experiences and show simple strategies and tips regular people can use to get healthier, stronger, and leaner.’ And now, more Focused.

Raza is joined by co-author EAC Andrews in stepping into this concept of the mental movie mindset by saying ‘Before it start laying out the specifics of the mental movie method, let me just establish the proper foundation for the solution. You have to go through this. You have to have a clear understanding of how this works so you can straighten up what you need to straighten up. You can let go of certain limiting beliefs, you might want to forget about certain limiting assumptions that you may have subscribed to. It all boils down to your mindset. How You Choose to Perceive a Situation Leads to Control Have you ever wondered why otherwise well-prepared and highly-skilled and talented people choke in the worst way possible? It’s not like they lack for training. It’s not like they’re not talented. But for some reason or other, they choke. They fumble the pass, they say the wrong things at a sales call, they misread messages, and they don’t get the date. What do these all have in common? It all boils down to perception. They perceive the situation in a way that they lose control. At the very least, they perceive a situation in a way that they’re no longer in a position to respond in an optimal way.’

The Michael Phelps (the all time record holder in the Olympics) method - ‘one thing stands out. He is using a version of the mental movie method. His coach taught him to play a
mental videotape; this is before and after his training sessions. He sees himself assume a certain posture; he looks at his surroundings, and then he sees himself swimming through the water in a particular way. When he does this, everything flows according to plan. There’s a script that he is following in the movie. In this movie, all the details are clear. Ultimately, it ends at the moment of victory. I would add that after playing this movie repeatedly, he anticipates what could go wrong and how to fix them.'

And the core of this book is - ‘The secret to the mental movie method, if it isn’t obvious already, is that it is all about rehearsing what you’re going to do in your mind. You repeat this over and over again. When you do this, you are not just daydreaming. You’re not just imagining stuff that has a very little effect on your waking reality. Instead, you’re tapping the power of your unconscious mind. You are programming your unconscious to align itself with the reality you choose. I can’t emphasize this enough. You chose the reality because you popped in a specific movie with precise actions and scenes. It all begins with your choice. You are in control of what goes on in that movie. Now when you play that movie over and over in your mind, your unconscious is triggered. It starts aligning itself with the reality you choose. You start developing an ideal of how you’re supposed to perform for peak results; then, you build up the script in your mind.’

Try it, practice it, adopt it – and as with Raza’s other books you will feel the power of the change
