Rashmover

Rate this book
Born in southern Ireland, Rashmover dreams of becoming a great racer. After setting a course record in her first race, and running impressively in her second, she is bought by an Englishman and taken to Swindon for further training. She has always been fascinated by her mother’s stories of the Great Greyhound Tradition – the pact between man and hound – but comes to believe that this sacred pact has been broken by mankind. We accompany her on her first races on the track, her subsequent adventures, and to her eventual retirement home on the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire. This is a unique novel full of insight into the ways of dogs and man, with expressive characterisations and warm humour throughout, but also with moments of true pathos.
