This book and the previous one needed a "copy editor," I think, a review of the text for meanings. Although the story line was good and flowed well there were several typos that stopped me as I read; it interrupted the story flow. For example, there were several instances of "that" when it should have been 'than', or "blanket" should have been 'blanked.'

At this point the book gets split into 4 points of view, as our main character goes off in one direction to search for Ava. Another group goes in another direction also to search for Ava. His aunt and uncle are trying to defend their kingdom from a group bent on world domination.
And the last point of view, Ava, which is there just to tell us she survived the explosion in an earlier book, and is being tortured by people who just want to make our main character suffer. (Because his father defeated this guys son, before he was even born.)
In the end the kingdom falls, and as refugees end up back in the village (now a kingdom) that the story started in. Ava gets rescued, but of course was poisoned and in George RR Martin fashion kills her just because.
2.5 This series is getting tiresome.

Like the other series, the Stoneblood Saga started out as an interesting read set in an interesting world. The world continues to interest me. However the author lost my interest. Like the other series, the story went downhill as the books progress. Although I have other books in this series and by this author in my queue, it is likely to be a long time, if ever, that I read anything more by them.

yup very dark tidings

Spoiler alert

At the end of the last book I figured Ava was lost
I am still hurt and disappointed
However, having all the primary characters survive is not realistic
There are new and interesting characters
Enough politics to get boring but keep it real

Mostly bad laws and bad people kill you
Using the laws to protect and preserve takes fore thought and planning

Great book
Great stories!

So many spelling mistakes and so maby wrong words in locations was disteacting to the flow. Trying to make sure I had the right things in my head as I was reading kept me going back over things.

However, the story itself was good.. And yet sad. With yet another loss to the main character, it brought tears to my eyes.

Such a good book, even with dad parts!

I am so involved with the characters that when something sad is recalled or happens I find myself crying. It's not a pretty sight. I don't cry cute. This book was really good and kept my interest all the way through! I'm anxious to download book five and follow "my friend's" adventure .

War and rebirth

I have enjoyed this book. It has old characters that you care what happens to them. Also it has a storyline that evolves as the books continue.
Loved the new characters and I look forward to more from this world.

The writing is really off. The characters have been mixed up and even been called by different names beit the first or last names, so disappointing. Also, the contents page says 25 chapters in the book, there are 34 and the are not clearly marked as new chapters as the first 25

Excellent, Intriguing and full of Adventure!

My five star rating of the "Stoneblood Saga" series is for the Author, Robyn Wideman. I recommend her books and look forward to enjoying more. My only comment to her that I feel phrases like "totally awesome", very cool"and "really neat" were too 20th century to keep the fluidity of the reader's imagination.
I am aiming my rant at Editors or Proof Readers that apparently depend on Spell Check too heavily. There were many occurrences of typos, missing or wrong tense of words, and misplaced punctuation. As an avid reader, I have seen enough in a few series to finally bring me to comment. I am in my early 60's and spent many years advancing from magazine advertising to becoming the Associate Editor of a magazine. My strength was proof reading so I cannot pass them by without wanting to red-line them! Thanks for tolerating my small rant, I hope I speak for others. When I am 'in' a story please don't throw me back into the present!

I really love this series, though this book was a little short, I enjoyed it so very much. I just wish it wasn't so far in between books. I want to see where it goes to next. Great Reading Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
