Unwrapped was previously published by Cari Quinn in 2011. This book has been altered and re-edited.
USA Today bestselling author Cari Quinn grew up wanting to be a singer more than anything else. When she realized she probably wouldn’t be hired as the opening act for the Foo Fighters, she stopped singing and started writing. Now she happily writes about rock stars, MMA fighters, suited heroes, bodyguards and everything in between. And she blasts her music as loud as the neighbors can stand, because hey, she’ll always be a rock star in her own head.
She's also half of the duo Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott, as well as one half of the USA Today bestselling author Taryn Quinn, who writes steamy small town romantic comedies (among other things.)
I didn't read all the blurb when I purchased this from Amazon, I just read that Cit wanted to lose her virginity to one of her flatmates, so imagine my suprise when I get to the man on man prt of the book, damn near dropped my Kindle and thought what the fuck, then went back and read the whole blurb on Amazon..lol..This book had shitloads of sex!! Unwrapped was tastefully done and an amazing read. I loved it. The characters pulled me in from the very beginning and kept me engaged throughout..
Unwrapped was a steamy holiday romance by Taryn Quinn. It was s stand-alone and was my first book by the author.
Cait, Tristen and Matt, had been best friends for over a decade. They worked, lived and secretly loved each other. It was pure sex combined with whether a long term relationship between three people could last and was it even worth a discussion. They each had some baggage and the author shifted focus for each one as the layers of each were peeled back and addressed. In the end, it was a realistic and sexy read.
“I received a copy of this book and chose to review it.” This book was hard for me to review - I wanted to like it more. I found it very angsty and the Heroine was at times emotionally immature and judgemental, and I could not understand the attraction her two roomies/business partners had for her, except they have been besties since college and that bonding happened prior to the start of the story.
I was uncomfortable with some of the consent issues early on, but they do get resolved and consent is asked and given, but red flags here and there. Although one of the male leads understands her kinks, the surprise acting out of them felt way too out there for their first sexual encounter. Neither kink was my cup of tea, so was not into that part of the story.
My favourite part of Unwrapped was the honest and open sexual and romantic relationship between the guys.
The latter parts of the story were brave in the exploration not just of ménage, but the complications and logistics of a polyamorous relationship.
Maybe the Heroine in particular was too young or emotionally immature, but I found the story was filled with angsty melodrama and game playing and had less of the humour and wit that I loved in their later books, so I did not enjoy this story as much as those in the Manaconda Series by Taryn Quinn. Final Rating: 2 Stars
The cover gives a pretty good indication of the way this story plays out. It's an erotic MMF menage/triad romance with lots of steamy scenes between the trio in a variety of couplings. Caitlyn wants to get rid of her pesky virginity and can't choose between her two best friends, Matt and Tristan. When she catches them together in the home they share and realizes they are already lovers, it makes her choice even more challenging- until the guys comes up with their own offer. The story is an interesting take on moving from the friend zone into more intimate territory, but also doesn't shy away from the reality of how their threesome will be perceived by their family and friends, and what the possible future consequences could be for a child. It's an easy read, good bedtime material ;-) 3.5 stars

Right here is your ultimate dirty Christmas read and I mean that in the best of ways. Sinfully hot, it will leave you in a cold sweat, a totally good one.
When Cait decides she’s ready to lose her virginity, it’s not just one man she’s after. Her 2 business partners are not just work colleagues, the are roommates and best friends. Taking that leap in one thing discovering Matt and Tristan are already enjoying the benefits of living together. Having no idea Cait catches both men in the throws of passion. Left feeling devastated but so hot, it doesn’t take long before Matt and Tristan stake their claim on her virginity but immediately, her heart.
On a roller coaster of emotion, hot sex and love, Matt, Cait and Tristan enter into a new relationship, discovering their threesome is everything they all want. Coming clean to the outside world scares Cait, but never fear alpha Tristan has everything under control. So not only are the ménage scenes scorchingly hot, but the story is also well written and told by each character giving the reader all of their, thoughts, feelings and emotions.
Reading is a luxury I can barely afford these days, time wise. With my day job taking up the whole day and my new exercise regime taking up quite a patch of the time available for reading, I am too tired most nights to really concentrate on a book and see it through. But Unwrapped by Cari Quinn, which I opened up with quite a few reservations since I have never delved into a ménage themed book before kept me engrossed late into the night, my fascination for the characters, the storyline and of course Ms. Quinn’s fabulous way with the words that just refused to shake off its hold on me.
Caitlyn Sachs is about to turn 25 and has a teeny tiny problem that she wants to deal with and be done over with. Cait has always been the good girl in the family, the one her mother has always counted on to follow the rules. The fact that her childhood had been spent trying to become as different from the rest of her family as possible had led her to be one of the extraordinarily rare women to still be a virgin, and she would like nothing better than to ask one of her best friends to take care of the problem. A couple of thrusts in and out and the one she choses would be done with it is how Cait envisions the encounter would be, not really knowing the complete 180 degree turn her life would take once the cat leaps out of the proverbial bag.
Matt and Tristan have been biding their time, their love for the woman who shares their professional and personal life a visceral part of the bond that keeps them together. So when Cait stumbles upon Matt and Tristan in a position that will forever be etched onto her mind, Matt seizes the opportunity to finally make all their dreams come true knowing that either they would all come out as winners or lose a friendship that means so much to all of them.
Though I am not new to the erotica genre, I am a virgin when it comes to ménages and sex between more than two heterosexual partners. And I don’t really know how to express on what I was expecting when I delved into Cari Quinn’s latest because lets face it, if the author is Cari Quinn my response has always been “Hell yes!”. So there I was, gingerly turning the pages, as skittish as a new born colt, prepared to flee the minute things got to be too much for me. But I should have trusted Cari a bit more because underneath the very hot and well done encounters between two sexy as sin heroes and one very virginal heroine, Cari managed to give me the angst, the emotion and the conflicts that she handles so very well in her stories, something that I crave for in my romances.
As much as the off the charts scorching hot sex got to me (and believe me it did), it was the emotional impact of the novel that had me glued to the pages, foregoing sleep just so I could experience the magic that is the combination of Cait, Matt and Tristan. The complexities of such a relationship, its impact on their loved ones and other such questions I have always had about such an arrangement even long before I read this were answered and though I know that this is fiction, it was heartwarming to see Cari give all aspects of at times their complex relationship equal amounts of time and attention.
I loved both Tristan and Matt. They are both so different from one another but yet they are a case of opposites attract, their relationship forged out of their mutual desire for the woman who shares their lives, though Cait might be totally clueless at first. I loved Tristan’s intensity, the way he has that no holds barred attitude towards their sexual encounters as well as the other more complex aspects of their relationship. It is Matt who serves as the peacemaker, the one who formulates, plots and plans and kicks into gear the weekend of decadent pleasure that is initiated to win over Cait’s affection.
Cait is the glue that holds their three pillar relationship together. Though Cait might crave for “normalcy” and wants to write off their weekend as a one time thing, deep down inside she knows that without Matt and Tristan in her life, she might as well be buried six feet under. And I loved Cait’s character because she knows exactly what her two lovers want and need from each other and has the guts to prick and poke at them until they are ready to give in.
I have that first encounter between Tristan and Matt that Cait spies on etched which would be onto my mind forever. The power and restrained violence of the encounter (whew!), needless to say, I could totally become a m/m fan girl if that is what the genre entails.
Though I would always remain a m/f fan girl at heart, I am just thankful that my first attempt at reading a ménage featuring sexual acts between the two males involved didn’t scar me for life. In fact in true Cari Quinn style, Unwrapped charmed and enticed me to look beyond the surface to find out that underneath all the panty-drenching hot sex, there is ALWAYS plenty of emotion and character development happening in her novels that just makes Cari’s style of erotica unbeatable.
For those who love ménages of the m/m/f variety, Cari Quinn’s Unwrapped is definitely a treat for your senses. And for those who love their erotica not just for the sake of panty melting hot sex, Cari Quinn definitely delivers on the emotion and angst that undoubtedly makes this book a winner all around.
Memorable Scenes: - Cait catching Tristan and Matt in the 'act' > awesome scene, what a way to introduce the m/m part of this story! - Every. Single. Sex scene > no explanation needed, they were trademark Cari Quinn: hot doesn't even come close!
Caitlyn 'Cait' Sachs likes her ordered life in contrast to the chaos of her family's. She wants to do well in life, she’s ambitious, has a wild imagination sometimes, and underneath her good girl reputation she's wicked and naughty when it comes to her sexual needs. She’s also independent and headstrong. Cait isn’t perfect and I loved that about her. She has her flaws and the way she perceives her family (mother and sisters) is one of them, but she’s willing to face that and acknowledge her faults.
Then there are the two heroes of this story. They were awesome each on their own but together they were irresistible.
Tristan Baldwin is seemingly unflappable, yet volatile when he loses his calm. He can be very stubborn and quick-tempered but he’s also sweet, refined, impulsive and protective.
Matt Collins is the rational, sensible one of the triad. He’s also rugged and patient. Even though he’s not the one prone to talking about his feelings he's the one who discusses the feelings between the three of them first and sets the whole ménage in motion.
So we have three best friends, working together at their graphic design business and living together with the two men turning to each other when their desire for Cait remains unanswered. What they don't know is that Cait wants to lose her virginity and intends to ask one of them to take care of it. What Cait doesn't know is that her best friends have been dying for a chance to have her...together. This is the perfect set-up for this magnificently written ménage. A wild weekend turns into something permanent, but not without some complicating factors along the way.
The sex scenes nearly did me in. They are so hot and so excellently written. I’ve said it before and I'll say it again and keep repeating it till the day I quit reviewing romance novels: when it comes to sizzling, explicit, arousing sex scenes no one beats Cari Quinn. It's like she goes into my head and finds what I find extremely hot and puts that on paper. And let me tell you that’s pretty eerie. She writes erotic romance that will heat up even the most frigid readers. And if her writing doesn't affect you that way, erotic romance just might not be your thing!
The secondary cast of UNWRAPPED is comprised of family members of all three main characters. They all played an important role in the emotional part of the story and even though some of them weren’t always likeable in their reactions, I mostly liked them and the way they offered support to the main characters. I especially liked Cait’s youngest sister Valerie. Brave, brave kid!
Cari Quinn has been on my favorite author list from the first ever book I read by her. And with every next book she just secured that spot more. UNWRAPPED is once again awesomely written. It's the perfect combination of the elements Cari Quinn always masters in a brilliant way: hot explicit sex, extremely likeable and believable characters, talented writing and the emotional intensity that just gets to me every single time!
I adore how layered Cari Quinn's work is. Both in her writing and in her characters. On the surface the topics and her characters may seem everyday and common but the layers she puts on them through her writing and the emotionality makes her books stand out in the vast pool of erotic contemporary romance. UNWRAPPED could have been just another friends-to-lovers ménage story with a holiday-themed background but Cari Quinn makes it into so much more by giving the characters and their story a uniqueness through the emotional difficulties and by putting them through some realistic and believable dilemmas.
I knew UNWRAPPED is an erotic romance so a HEA is guaranteed, but still Cari Quinn had me biting my nails sometimes, wondering how that HEA was going to be reached as there were many emotional moments of doubt, of fear of how other people might judge their unconventional relationship. Between Cait's insistence on their weekend together not being anything more than just living out a fantasy, Tristan family stuff and silent stubbornness and Matt's worry about the practical sides of a permanent threesome, they had me in knots and relying on my trust in Cari Quinn to make it all work in the end. This trust wasn't unfounded. She definitely did...in an awesome way!
Cari Quinn and Loose ID seem to be the perfect match as this is the second book by Quinn I've read published by Loose ID that I must give my highest rating! UNWRAPPED is the first m/m/f I've read by Cari Quinn. I love ménages but I'm picky when it comes to m/m/f as I am not fond of m/m sexy times. There are a few authors who make me love their m/m/f ménages and Cari Quinn has joined those ranks with a bang: a perfect 10 rating as there was absolutely nothing I did not love about this book!
Caitlyn's birthday is coming up and the only thing she wants from one of her two best friends to rid her of her virginity....the only problem is that she cannot choose between Matt and Tristan. She has been attracted to both of her best friends for years, they each have something that pulls her to them. When Matt finds out what Caitlyn wants he makes her an offer that she cannot refuse, not either Matt or Tristan, but both of them!
This book was so hot it was like a porno for your mind. There was so much sex going on it was hard to believe that Cait was a virgin...we have some MM, MF, and of course MFM.
I have to admit that I liked the after effects of their weekend together, I felt it was pretty realistic as to what may happen if you believed that after the weekend you would all just go back to your normal life....yeah that's not happening!
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book given to me by the author, this is a completely honest and non-incentivized review** I also purchased a copy of this book once it was available.
Unwrapped was originally written by Cari Quinn in 2011 and now it is re released after being reworked and extended by Taryn Elliot. It's a complex sizzling hot story about three best friends, Caitlin, Matt & Tristan who met up in college and continued to work & live together. They are hard-working and are slowly gain respect in the busy advertising world. This is the story of their love affair and how they dealt with three of them loving each other. It is a well written and evocative story and it's very easy to understand why each of them fell I love with each other plus it's a highly charged tale of erotica as Matt and Tristan include Cait in their own affair which began about a year before the story began. I enjoyed the banter, between them and learning about their dynamics made it very clear what characteristics each bought to the trio. Cait was very rigid in the beginning, insisting that their menage would last a weekend and go back to "NORMAL" on the following morning because "real" people wouldn't want to be in a menage-style relationship. She was also heavily influenced by her sisters life choices & tried to be as different to them as was possible. She struggled with the premise of the 3 of them staying committed and used every possible way to end it all and she caused considerable paint and suffering doing it. Taryn Elliot dealt with this sensitive topic with a light hand and lots of frenzied love making. But there was sweet and gentle as well plus a very moving part where they finally acknowledged their true feeling and needs. This was a very well written story about a highly erotic way of living and a beautiful love story as well. Unwrapped it's a must read book; I hope you decide to read and enjoy it as much as me..
This book has me wishing I had best friends like Caitlyn! When you could care less about what people think of unconventional love, is maybe when you will find true happiness. This was definitely a book that requires a cold shower if you aren’t as lucky as Caitlyn but oh, so fun to read! These authors never disappoint.
I received this book as an ARC for a freely given honest review.
When it comes to triads, there's always this part of me that isn't quite convinced that the feelings that all three members of said triad are on equal footing. It's rare when I'm actually swayed to believe the three partners involved in a relationship like this (not just a fling or a one-time thing) love or care about each other with the same intensity. In the case of Unwrapped, I wasn't moved towards changing my original stance on triads because I felt Cait and Matt loved Tris more than they did each other. That doesn't mean, however, that I didn't enjoy the story; I did. There was enough about this book that allowed it to be different from other threesome love stories and I've always enjoyed the combined writing efforts of Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott, as I've enjoyed their writing as individuals. I look forward to seeing what Taryn Quinn have in store for readers next. Four stars go to Unwrapped. ♥
Caitlyn Sachs has decided that 24 is old enough to let go of her virginity. After holding onto it so not to be seen as easy as she perceives the rest of her family to be, it has now become more of a burden than a thing to treasure. However, there is only one of two people that she can fathom sleeping with and convincing them may be a problem. Matt and Tristan are her best friends, work-mates and flatmates; convincing one of them to become her lover may be a step too far. When she returns home one night unexpectedly, she finds them in the middle of some seriously steamy sex. Upset that they have never told her they were lovers, convinced that she may have missed her chance to sleep with one of them and very turned on, she tries to flee the scene of the crime to clear her brain. When Matt comes to confront her, conversations take an unexpected turn and she finds herself one step closer to the secret fantasy she's been harboring for years; the one where they all end up in bed together.
Matt and Tristan have been in love with Cait for years. A year ago, they turned to each other in solace when she seemed to fall hard for her current beau. The situation between them has grown to become something far more than just sex, but they can't help feeling that they are incomplete without their flatmate with them. When Cait walks in on them, all their secrets desires come spilling out. Can she accept that what they want from her, what she wants from them, doesn't make her a "slut"? Can they all accept that by accepting their true natures they might not be acceptable to everyone else?
This is a festive read, with most of the main action happening over the Christmas period. I have always said that I like a ménage more when everyone is happy with the situation. This doesn't necessarily mean that everyone has to be sexually attracted to each other; it just means I can't abide ménage where one of the men is constantly aware of where their penis is in relation to the others penis. I want a happy threesome and these three don't have a problem with the sexual side of their relationship, they just have a problem of the logistics of "forever". The character with the most hang-ups, and the most annoying character for me, was Caitlyn. Caitlyn is not a very nice character. Judgmental of the choices that her family have made for themselves, she goes out of her way to "not be like them". She mainly has a problem with the fact that her mother had a lot of boyfriends and that her younger sister has four children. She lets this judgment cloud all of her actions hence she ends up a 24 year old virgin. She just wanted rid of it (which I didn't mind) but was willing to use her best friends to do the deed. She wasn't actually thinking of them at all when she made this decision, she was going to let them basically toss a coin for her and then act as if it never happened the day after. She kept up this kind of attitude throughout the majority of their interlude and I hated every second of it. Her deep seated fear of being seen as a slut hurt both men deeply during the course of this book as she was happy to use and abuse two men who loved her for her own personal gain.
The boys were lovely. Matt was the more easy going, rambunctious, act-now-ask-questions-later type of guy. He was also very proud of his oral skills Under the surface veneer of confidence and charm was a very insecure man. He feared that he was a stop gap for Tristan and that he was second choice for Cait. At one point he wonders if they would be better without him...I was definitely team Matt this book. Tristan was the more intense one out of the two but I don't think that the book would have worked without him. He wasn't as easy to like but his feelings for the two of them were undeniable. His love of Dominance also made me VERY happy he was in the book. He wasn't willing to let her go easily and made it incredibly difficult for her to leave, constantly reminding her of what they could have if she would stop caring what others thought. Both of the men were desperately unhappy with her demands but took on the challenge of trying to change her mind. I wanted to slap her a little; if she loved them like she claimed, she would have steadfastly refused sex with them, knowing that she would ultimately cause them great amounts of pain. She redeemed herself slightly towards the end, but she still upset me with her actions. As a ménage, they worked very well but as individuals, she was too selfish for such lovely men.
The sex scenes were ridiculously hot. The fact that no one had any limits in the bedroom just made it absolutely scorching to read. There was M/M sex between two very manly men, M/F/M ménage, M/M/F ménage, Voyeurism, spanking, bondage, home-made porn.....the list was endless! I can honestly say that this book spiked my libido like no other has in a while.....sweaty palms and a raised heart rate were the least of my worries :) I love Cari Quinn's erotic scenes....she is one of my "go-to" authors when I need a steamy fix :)
Overall this one was a fabulously smutty read that kept me entertained throughout. With a variety of different sexual techniques and themes, I honestly think there would be something in here to tempt anyone with a pulse. A definite re-read :)
I know there’s no such thing as stereotypes when reading an MMF, but if there was, this would be it… and I don’t mean it in a bad way (mostly). It was the equivalent of having a California roll when being introduced to sushi, if you catch my drift. It was cute & to the point with mild drama.
I feel like I read a different book then everyone else that posted their review of it. With the 2 star rating it is evident I did not like this book. I'm sorry I wasted an entire day reading it.
Spoilers contained below.... . . . For some reason in the beginning I knew I did not trust or care for Matt or Caity's (the virgin) characters. Unfortunately, my gut was correct. This was supposed to be a mmf Tristian/Matt/Caity ménage relationship but personally it read more of a mf (Matt & Caity) one. Here is why I feel Tristian's character got shafted in this so called ménage relationship:
1. Matt was a self absorbed character who only cared about his own sexual needs/wants whether it was with Tristian or Caity. Hence why when Tristian went for a walk to clear his head Caity very willingly lost her virginity to Matt in their bed. And when Caitly finally started to feel bad about it Matt called Tristian "a moron" and they continued having sex because neither wanted to stop. All the while unbeknownst at them Tristian was outside and watched some of it happen through their window completely heartbroken. Even after they finish in bed the two are about to go for round 2 in the bathroom when Tristian returns and Caity wonders why Tristian is acting a little strange then she remembers the window next to the bed and deduces he saw them. Of course Matt especially nor Caity seem to feel a decent shred of remorse (remember Matt did call Tristian his lover/best friend/business partner "a moron" the betrayal is brushed under the rug. After I read this scene I only continued reading because there had to be scene of Tristian confronting Matt & Caity's betrayal or have them show a remorse of remorse right?
2. When Matt's mom is visiting for the Christmas holiday and staying with them (both boys have separate rooms) Caity and Matt are about to have sex without Tristian of course when his mother walks in and realizes she is interrupting him in bed with a woman. When she sees it is Caity she is over joyed and Matt starts to tell her about their "ménage" but chickens out. And that is when Tristian is standing in the door and hears everything then goes back to his room completely heartbroken. Well, Caity finally puts her big girl pants on after Matt's mother goes to bed and tells him they are telling their parents the truth about their mmf relationship tomorrow (Christmas Day). Matt reluctantly agrees (I'm surely only because she is so pissed off/disappointed in him he is sure she won't have sex with him unless he does. Not thinking of Tristian at all once again) and the two end of up in Tristian's bed having no idea he overheard his friend turn into a complete coward at his expense. We finally see Tristian realizing how much Matt only cares about himself & Caity in this relationship but then he rationalizes Matt's behavior to himself and lets it go. SERIOUSLY!!!
3. When the truth comes out to each of their parents of Matt, Caity and Tristian ménage relationship of course Tristian is the one all but disowned by his parents. Are Matt or Caity there for him? This is a big fat NO! In fact maybe less then a week goes by and none of them are having sex and this really bothers Caity because "I'm having less sex now then I did when I has a virgin" she tells Matt at work. They are both ready to fix that problem. Of course this conversation takes place while Tristian is out picking up their dinner to bring back to eat together all the while Caity is only envisioning Matt carrying her off to bed with Tristian not even in her frame of thought. But, surprise surprise it is actually Matt who decides to call Tristian to come back home but Caity takes his phone and calls him herself. After listening to him does she realize/remember what a selfish bitch (I added that word) she has been in their relationship. She is determined to fix it and pulls Matt into her scheme of kidnapping him.
Once they get to the cabin with a bound up Tristian, Caity and Matt get very cozy on the couch for him to witness. But, he doesn't have the reaction they expect and they both get worried maybe they took this too far or he just doesn't want either of them anymore? (IF ONLY) Caity is actually about to shed a tear because she is worried this is the end and Matt the self absorbed sexual ass is even tense and won't look at him. nope. Tristian realizes he has been in the wrong and too blind to see what a loving relationship they have been sharing all along. At this point in the book I really was kicking myself for powering through it and wasting an entire day reading it.
This book had so much potential if it would have explored more of Matt & Caity's betrayals (that is what they were) especially since Tristian was the one that fought so hard to get them into a mmf relationship and it keep it. This book could have been so much more then the boring predictable sex fest with no real story to it other than to make sure their was a ridiculous happy ending. Not for this reader it wasn't. Hence why I gave it 2 stars.

Unwrapped is officially being placed on that very special keeper shelf of mine, and on the even smaller shelf of holiday themed books worth revisiting year-round!
Caitlyn "Cait" Sachs is twenty-five, successful, and a virgin simply because her life has been driven by the need to succeed and the fear of an unplanned pregnancy that seems to afflict her family. It's not that she doesn't want to have sex, she does. And now she's ready to finally give in to her fear and give herself the ultimate Christmas/Birthday present, but it has to be on her terms so there's no room for error. That's why she's decided it has to be one of the two men in her life whom she trusts unconditionally and loves in a way that is far more than a roommate and best girlfriend should.
Tristan, Matt, and Cait have been friends since college, forming a bond unlike any other that has forged into a deep seated friendship as roommates and eventually working with one another at Tristan's self started business. Tristan and Matt have secretly carried a torch for Cait themselves, but when neither could divulge in that fantasy, tension mounts, passions soar out of control, until they direct that bottled-up fire towards one another.
In that one moment when Cait walks in on Tristan and Matt in a passionate scene she's always wanted for herself, a new door opens, a new opportunity always thought to be out of the question, a new future for them all. But hesitancies, fear, uncertainties, and real life prejudices threaten their happiness and fate that each truly wants for themselves and one another.
Cari Quinn delivers when hellava hot menage read that steams up the room and melts your heart in this friends to lovers troupe story. While the sex and intimacies are nothing short of super hot (Seriously. Hot.), they are also filled with the emotions that come with a connection between three people that are meant to be with one another. For readers who love to indulge in m/m scenes, you get them, and wow are they fabulous! And for readers who often shy away from them (like myself) I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy them too. I did. I found the connection between these two strong males was fabulously established by the author, which made their scenes that much hotter.
Each of the main characters are strong, contributing to the story in their own purposeful way. They're successful, and seem confident in all ways people would perceive them to be, but at each of the characters' core is a doubt about themselves, a vulnerability that they want no one to see but for the two others they know would protect their deepest weaknesses and insecurities. Their interactions with one another were so life-like that I could actually see a triad like theirs taking place in real life.
And speaking of real life, Cari Quinn does not shy away from establishing the main conflict of prejudice towards same sex relationships and the impacts that it may carry when coming out to family. This is a powerhouse of a story. You simply get it all: Fabulous sex scenes, fantastic characters, strong storyline, funny moments, passion and love, and societal conflicts.
If you're looking for something other than the fireplace to warm you up on your Christmas vacation, I highly recommend Unwrapped.
I felt this was menage with a realistic bent. A lot of menage stories don't address American society's prudish and judgmental ways. I think most people in America wouldn't understand a permanent threesome (and some would be insanely jealous, lol).
The story starts out with the virginal (really, just a technicality) Cait trying to figure out which one of her roommates will pop her cherry. She's kept her virginity because the rest of her family seem to have loose morals and she doesn't want to be like them. Her mother had Cait relatively young, didn't hang on to the father, and then went through several more men (and babies). Cait's younger sisters seem to be on that same path of having babies without the fathers around. Her youngest sister seems to still be on a right track.
So anyway, Cait wants to lose her virginity just because she's tired of it and almost 25. And she loves both of her roommates -- they've been together since freshman year of college -- and she can't choose. She arrives home early -- they all share the home -- and she discovers her two roommates having sex. And she's floored. And pissed that she was left out of it and that she didn't know. I mean they do everything together... why not this? Except she just doesn't think she can have a threesome. Because she's not a slut (remember her family?). But once Matt figures out that she wants them both, he hatches a plan for him, Cait, and Tristan to get to know each other much better.
But I think what was most realistic was their internal thoughts about how this could possibly work long term. They don't think they can walk away after the weekend, but they're also not sure how to move forward. They decide to tell their families, and the families' reactions seemed quite real as well.
There was a bit of angst, but ultimately an HEA. Cute story.
Three college friends who start their own design business commit themselves to each other permanently in a menage a trois. This is a delightful book to read if you like it scorching hot and like menages. Two of my favorite authors have renamed themselves to Taryn Quinn. Remember that Name for great erotic reading!
Cait lives and works with her best friends from her university days, Tristan and Matt. They've done quite well for themselves and their ad design business: Tristan's Designs. Tristan and Cait do the designs, and Matt handles the books, the computers, and tries to rein in Tristan's excessive expenditures on his wardrobe. They share a two floor large loft with the large first floor for business and the second floor for them each to have their own apartments.
Cait is approaching her 25th birthday and has yet to get her V card punched. She has decided to approach her best friends that night, since they discuss everything together, and decide together who will do the 'deed' for her. Simple she thinks. She loves them both equally. They are both scrumptiously sexy, gorgeous examples of hot testosterone!
She comes home an hour earlier than expected and discovers them doing each other. Surprise! More like shock. After years together, she had no idea since she knew they frequently dated girls and had sex with them at the loft.
Matt catches her downstairs making tea and they have a heart to heart discussion. She tells him her dilemma. He suggest that both he and Tristan take care of her little problem. Matt plans everything! Most of it without telling either Tristan and especially Cait. All three are in love with each other. Only Cait is unaware of how deep Matt and Tristan's feelings go.
This a FUN book to read! It's erotic, romantic cabin in the snow, a bit crazy at times, but we get our delightful HEA!
Wow! Sit back and get ready for a lot of sex. Male on male sex. Male on female sex. Menage sex. Oral sex. Anal sex. Dom/sub sex. Videotaped sex. Sex on the table. Sex in the hot tub. Sex in the car. And even (*gasp*) sex in the bed. You might be asking yourself... with so much sex, is it possible there is actually a story to be found in there somewhere? The answer is... well, yeah, though it's a pretty simple one.
Cait is a 25 year-old virgin who lives with her two best friends, Tristan and Matt. She decides she wants to pop her cherry and plans to ask one of the men to do the deed. But before she can, she walks in on the guys having sex. They've been sleeping together for months, though both men are also secretly in love with her. She's hurt, at first, by the deception, but eventually comes around to the idea of trying out a threesome. That's the set-up... and from there, the sexin' takes over until almost the end of the book, when our lovers must decide whether it was a grand experiment or something they want to try on long term.
It was hot, no doubt. I'm not a fan of the whole dom/sub thing, but there was enough variety in the sexcapades that there is something for everyone. It helps that the relationships between the characters were already in place before the book began and there was very little awkwardness regarding the m/m part of the threesome. There were some sweet moments and a little bit of angst, but for the most part, it's really a steamy and sexy read with a very high heat factor. It won't change the world, but it'll warm you up on a cold night. 3 1/2 stars.
I must admit, menage stories really need to draw me in to be successful. Add in my first m/m/f romance and I was a little nervous on the read. Thanks to Mz. Quinn I think I'll even try a few others. She really captured the passion of a relationship that pushes preconceived boundaries and the aftermath of a relationship that will change your life forever.
When your blood is heated and all you're thinking about is pleasure you don't want to think about what's going to happen when you leave the bedroom. The scenes between the three of them are amazingly hot. That's trademark Quinn...but what they also do is make you think. Okay, so you might be fanning your face at the same time, but she doesn't cut corners with the hard choices in a love scene. She will push your boundaries and make you fall in love with the characters just as hard as they do.
Some people may hide a threesome relationship, some may be open about it...but Mz. Quinn takes those steps outside of the bedroom too. And for the characters, sometimes they're the stumbling kind. That's why I love her books. She never takes the easy way out of any story. Tris, Matt, and Caity are an amazing couple. Caity does the most growing in this story, imho. She has to push through family issues, sister troubles, and falling in love with two men and that's just the start of her troubles.
For a beautiful read about sex, love and what happens next...look no further.
And if you've never read a m/m/f menage this will probably convert you. ;)
I just read the most incredibly hot and sexy love story! Two powerhouse authors joined together to enthrall their readers - wow ... did they ever. Stayed up late, got up early and finished it at lunch....so much yum.
The playful and erotic lead up to actual sex is the best I've read in a long time.
Tristan, Matt and Cait are the best of friends. They are business partners and they all live together...platonically. Until thoughts of threesomes enter the minds of these three! I am not going to say a hell of a lot more other than to say....YOU HAVE GOT TO READ THIS STORY!
Review for UNWRAPPED What’s a girl supposed to do when she wants to lose her v-card and can’t choose between her two best friends?? The answer is simple…let the friends decide…except it is not quite what she was looking for..or was it??? This wild journey between Caitlyn, Matt and Tristan is utter perfection with angst, love and misunderstandings. These authors are terrific at what they do and you don’t want to miss this one either, so hop on board and follow these wonderful characters.
I'd give anything to go back to my V days and relive it like Caitlyn! I wouldn't be able to choose just one either. It's like a chips ohoy cookie and oreo..both equally satisfying in their own unique way. Only wish the story was longer :)
Funny, hot MMF romance. Plenty of banter between the 3 best friends makes it a fun read. The chemistry between the 3 is off the charts. Definitely recommend this smutty goodness
Unwrapped: A MMF Holiday Romance By: Taryn Quinn Narrated by: Wen Ross, Kai Kennicott
This is a great, smoking hot friends to lovers romance. As with all of Taryn Quinn’s books, it is well written with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are complex and continually develop as the story goes on and they come to terms with themselves and their feelings. Cait, Matt and Tristan are good friends, they work together and live together platonically. Cait will be turning 25 and she decided it is time to lose her virginity and she was going to ask her two friends for a one night stand with no strings attached. She finds out Matt and Tristan have already been intimate with each other. The two men come up with a plan to abduct her and take her away for her birthday and give her what she wants. They give her what she wants, a smoking hot birthday. But things get complicated for the hot trio when feelings are revealed, worries of what others would think, friends and family, as well as what if it does not work out, would taking it beyond friendship ruin things for them. This is a well plotted story, there is never a dull moment, there is plenty of drama, angst, some heartfelt moments and some hot, sexy MMF loving! This holiday romance can be enjoyed anytime of the year! Thank you Taryn Quinn for another great story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They bring these characters to life, give them their voices and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture and project the characters passion and emotions into their performance. They are entering storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧
I'm struggling a little with this review because I liked the story but there are aspects I felt didn't work as well as I'd hoped. If you go into this book suspending your disbelief then I think you'll do fine, and just to clarify, that isn't about the relationship but the circumstance. I just found it so hard to believe Cait was a virgin, especially with some of the bedroom antics, from her and the guys. I liked this story, it was sexy for sure, lots of sex in various combinations MM/ MMF/ MF/ MFM which I actually liked and it gave a greater feel for these characters and how they felt for each other. Cait, Matt and Tris' relationship was actually quite beautiful, I just felt that for three people that claimed to love one another from early on, they really tried their best to hurt them. Thankfully, they eventually came to their senses and the book does have a HEA. The characters were pretty likable. I liked that the book dealt with the prejudices of the people around them and the thoughts of the characters as well. I always love the love is love message.
Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross were fantastic. I loved their performances, they never fail to entertain, it's not just a read of the book but a full production. They fully capture your attention and engross you in the story, and this book was no different. The changes in tone and inflections for each character was brilliant. It was easy to listen to and follow. If you think reading the sexy times was hot, wait until you hear them. Narrator crushes for sure.
