Zekke

Product Description
A sci fi alien romance that can be read as a standalone, although it is recommended that the books be ready in order.
The Azziarin Series:
Jakke (Book 1)
Dazz (Book 2)
Kollin (Book 3)
An Azziarin Christmas (Book 4)

A military male at heart, Zekke wants no part of having a mate. Mates make one weak, vulnerable; he would rather be on his warship, fighting the enemy. When King Mallik orders that Earth be protected, Zekke doesn’t hesitate. He was born to command a fleet of ships; it’s what he lives for. But what he finds on Earth is the very thing he’s trying to avoid.

Ava Thompson, a sergeant with the United States Army, barely escapes the initial attacks that destroy most of the military. A few like her have survived, and now she is second in command of the ragtag group of six who try to protect the city each night from the Tureis. Every night is the same guerrilla warfare for her—until she comes face to face with a white-haired alien, and her world is turned upside down… again.

Note to readers: This sci fi romance contains a lot of action, plenty of angst, and a steamy romance. So if you like strong women and alpha males, this is for you!

Zekke the Commander and Ava the Sergeant.
I know it's not really a 4 star read when compared to Jane Austen or Niel Gaiman, but for this genre it's a sweet read. I like this author because she can always create tension without making the reader wallow in it or either MC lose strength. I can always feel the chemistry and tenderness between the MCs too. The aliens are pretty 'human' but there's a token effort to create a different culture.
Those pesky Tureis Aliens are still wreaking havoc on Earth and Ava is in charge of one of Earths Guerrilla squadrons to fight the enemy back. A brief meeting from a distance and Zekke knows that she is his true mate. But he really doesn't want a true mate. So there's push and pull and destiny and all that. But what stops that from being annoying, is the way Ava responds to his cr*p attitude. And yet I found myself just as ready to forgive Zekke as Ava was. Not that she doesn't make him wait a while first for hurting her.
OW free with a wee bit of OM wannabe stuff. No biggie.
A fun read, although the ending as usual is a wee bit schmaltzy!

Sergeant Ava takes command

I enjoyed Zekke's story, and I loved Ava. He's the military Azziarin prince, not into mating, young, family, none of it. Life aboard ship with his soldiers, fighting the Tureis - that's Zekke's thing - until a trip to scout for the Tureis on Earth leads him to Ava, sergeant in the US Army, or what remains of it. Her rag-tag unit is fighting a losing guerrilla war against the invading Tureis, but Zekke's sudden appearance throws her mission, and his, into a tailspin. Ava needs all her strength of purpose and her habit of command to holder own against a seven-foot Azziarin prince in the grip of mating fever - but she, and he, face all manner of challenges before they work out exactly who and what they are to each other. HEA and a few series loose ends tied up - this is pretty good stuff. I'm up for more.

Oh, Zekke makes me so angry in this. I mean, the way he treats Ava at first is shameful. I get him being worried and all, but surely he isn't a stupid man, especially after watching his brothers and their mates. Ava should've kicked his butt 3 ways from Sunday. He would've deserved.

And Jamison. Ugh. I really hate men like him. Someone should definitely kick his butt and get him to get over himself.

I know that it sounds like I'm negative on this book, but I'm really not. I think Ava is an incredible character. She isn't going to take anything off of anyone. She's going to make sure that she gets what she wants and what she deserves. Good for her.

Great story!

I've been enjoying this series a lot and this book was fun to read. The hero, Zekke, is a prince and is sent to protect Earth from the aliens that have attacked it. He doesn't want a mate, but the first time he sets foot on Earth he meets a soldier named Ava who happens to be his true mate. He fights against it, so she forces another alien to return her to Earth. Zekke is going crazy without her, so he goes after her and brings her back to his ship. Little do they know, Ava is carrying a secret that will change their lives.

I'm really loving this series! This series continues to enchant me with their wide variety of characters and situations. I loved Ava, she is strong and independent and evenly matched with Zekke, although he stands too much in his own way. He is the single thing ruining their relationship even before it starts. There are some intense fighting scenes and I'm loving when the Turies get smoked. Can't wait to read the next one!

Good

Very good I would almost go 5 stars but when he kept lying to her and about the mating and everything that was just too much. She kept forgiving him and I think the way it was written I seemed she forgave him easier than maybe she did but I am not a fan of liars. Other than that this was an awesome book. I’m excited for the next book.

My favorite one so far

This series has been good but this story is my favorite one so far. This is about an army sergeant who sees an alien and instantly knows something is drawing her to him. Zeeke doesn't want a mate but it seems he found his regardless. He makes some unfortunate mistakes dealing with a strong female human that stands up for herself. Good read.

Liked it

Zekke is so mean. Not sure he deserved Avas love after the way he treated her. Wasn't sure they were going to work it out.

Zekke

I enjoyed the book but was very irritated at Zekke . I thought the author had Ava forgive Zekke to easily and she kinda rushed the endding.

~3.5 stars~

The storyline and plot seemed to be a bland. There wasn't a whole lot going on in those regards. I don't think I ever felt the slightest moment of suspense while reading this. I did, however, enjoy the characters. Even though the actual story seemed to be lacking, I still enjoyed the characters and their interactions. I'll likely read more in this series, especially since they are offered on kindleunlimited.

Zekke is the weakest book in the series but by no means does it mean that its a bad book. Plot wise, it was poor. Nothing much really happened which was a shame because with Zekke and Ava both having military backgrounds, the potential to kick some Tunis butt was explosive. The read was very quick which left me feeling really unsatisfied. There was a really nice twist I didn't see coming at the end and the teaser for the next book is promising.

Rushed, but Good

I enjoyed the story of Zekke and Ava. At times, it bounced around, a bit jarring as if trying to get through a block with filler. But, that being said, the overall story was quite good. Zekke has watched all of his brothers find the true mates, each with a human female. He's certain that being mated will be a weakness and he's hoping that a year long mission to help Earth defeat their mutual enemy, the Tire is, will keep him occupied and fulfilled. Lo and behold, the first time he steps foot on the planet, he catches his true mates scent and feels he is doomed. The mating fever takes over and after a few days, he returns to Earth to find the female and kidnapped her. Not the way to start a relationship, big guy. Them to add to his mistake, which he makes plenty of by the way, he tells her he does t want a mate, uses he like a consort, and lies to her. Yeah, I didn't hold out much hope for Zekke!

This "heroine" lost all my respect and interest towards the end of the book at the second crisis (trying not to spoil anything). I understood her forgiving the hero the first time. The second time, not so much. Especially after just a couple minutes and an oops. No, there's no oops, no real reasoning, and the supposedly strong female character just rolling over made me cranky and look at the whole story with a much more jaded eye. The author seems to be just stretching for drama, and/or has no respect for her own characters in this particular book.

The series in general is good; this book is a total miss and was immediately removed from my library and won't be a re-read.

Zekke

Here is the 5th book and the warrior Prince Zekke. He is going to earth to help fight the bad aliens. While there he meets his warrior mate. But not all goes as he planned. No mate ever. When she finds out all galactic hell breaks out. Now can he love with his decision? Or will he end up crawling to her. Also there is a surprise appearance for one of the wives on his home planet.

Better & better

Each book in this series is better than the last. These are uncomplicated tales of the complex process of becoming mates when you are from different worlds. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
