Malice had loved, and lost; but the world had not ended. There was so much more to do, so much anger to release. But when a messenger arrives with word of a love returned, after all this time; and carrying a warning that will send ripples across the expanse of space and time, Malice must find the one who holds the key to unlocking the secrets of the enemy, and free Marena from her sweet slumber.
Marena, had been captured by the enemy, torn from Malice's grip as her heart broke. She had been everything to Malice, and was still to this day, though Malice had found herself wrapped in the arms of another. But still, Malice could not resist the urge to answer Marena's call, delivered by the lips of a Demon. Her love had been lost, and though found, remained trapped in the prison of her own mind; a mind, the enemy had warped and twisted...
Kember had been called many things, but she was, by birth right, of royal blood. A Witch, like her mother, she had ties to the outer worlds, that not even her closest friends had knowledge of. She knew things, knew people, and when word of Marena crossed her path, she knew there was one person, who could help her.
Banished from the Order, for breaking their most sacred law and saving the life of another, she remembers nothing; but the visions that plague her. Not even her own, she is forced to witness the lives of others spread out across time, though never catching a glimpse of her own. Written on pages, and collected within a leather bound cover, were the words of days past, and those yet to come. Engraved with swirls and laced with thin strips of copper cord, the book, and the visions recorded inside, was but a journal; and Navina, was the key.
Lync, had no family. No parents, no nothing. Cast out into the world, each memory forged on his own, he knows nothing of where he came from; just another orphaned soul, lost in the Verse that was. He knows his female is something special, though. He knows that she harbors a dark secret, but his love for her is stronger than ever, and he would die before letting his Navina suffer. 'Write it all down, my love. Let the visions come, record them, and let them be free of your thoughts!'
Together, with the help of smooth talking Demon, and the daughter of the Lord of Darkness, himself, they will find the answers they are looking for; even if it takes them beyond the rift. The stories contained within that leather bound book, would guide them to places they could never imagine; and unlock the mysteries surrounding Marena, and the enemy from the other side.
Get in to those comfy pants, gather what you'll need for the next day or so, and sit back... because this book is going to suck you in and not let go. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and your heart will feel like it ran a marathon as you read each chapter of.....
I've always been told I have a wild imagination! And what better way to release some of those pent up ideas, than by adding them to paper to create a one of a kind story.
I've always dabbled in writing, creating intricate webs of storyline to excite my friends, though it wasn't until recently that I was able to put them out there for others to read. I for one love reading, and will read just about anything.
Above all though, my family is my world, by blood or by marriage, or just by being there, spending time with me and mine, family means the most to me! And hey as it turns out, they all think I'm wild and crazy too!
So what started out as a way to put a few of my books, printed and published on my own shelves, has turned into something I can't put down, and led to so many other possibilities.
I really liked the story of Navina as she discovered more about herself and her gifts, and enjoyed reading about her relationship with Lync. The story did seem to jump when Vina had her first vision, but I understood the reader was supposed to identify with her, as if the vision was shared. How would we, as readers, feel if we were suddenly sucked into a battle between good and evil and couldn’t even figure out where or when we were? Confused? Crazy? Desperate to discover the truth? Likely, it would be all of the above. The authors handle a large cast of characters and fight scenes with an ease that is at times difficult to follow, but the writing never suffers from the confusion. I did find myself flipping backward a few times to figure out who certain character were and why they were there. It didn’t detract. This is a “Devil’s Daughters Crossover”. I only wish I had read the books about the daughters first so I knew them better. That’s easily remedied. Once I have read their stories, I plan to re-read Legends and then read the next four stories in the series. Great action and battles, mythology with a twist and fast-paced drama. Read, and plan to love it.
It's a remarkable story which kept me engrossed right from the very beginning. There is so much happening in this novel, so many turns and twists, it's truly an amazing read. Navina dreams about things that are not her memories, or may be they are, she doesn't remember much of her past. All she knows is that she was one of the Order. They are destined to witness what happened in the Verse but they cannot interfere. When ever she has one of her dreams she right it down. May be some day these things will make sense to her... Lync is her male. No one knows who or what he actually is. All they know is that he is not human, and that he can't live without Navina. Kember is a witch and their best friend. When their world is threatened they're forced to work with daughters of the Lord of Darkness, and their mates to try and unravel the mystery of their past, present, and future. Sometimes things go their way, sometimes not so much, but through it all they learn to survive. Slowly the mystery will be solved. But there is still more to come.... The story is set in a fantasy world. It's a mixture of sci-fiction, paranormal, fantasy, romance, and adventure. In other words this book is perfect for anyone who loves to read fanciful stories. I received a complimentary copy of this book to voluntarily leave a review.
First book I have read by this collaborating pair, and I can honestly say it has been well worth it. The story flows nicely taking you to other worlds, meeting fabled Valkyries, Gods, Goddesses, angels and demons. You get introduced to different creatures and other planets, as you learn to identify with strong characters. The story moves between past and present, memories and visions of possible future events, and leads you to want more and more. The seemingly normal amusing banter between characters makes the book an enjoyable read. The characters are strong and you find yourself attached to them. I am thoroughly looking forward to reading the next few books and then reading there second series Valkyries, which promises to be even more exciting
