I thought this book would be a classic fantasy/mythological story. But this turned out to be the mother of all the Telugu folk tales. I've read many folk tales and fantasy stories. But not a single one of them is devoid of the influence of this book. But because I read this book so late, everything seemed "been there, read that"
But still the main plot and the narrative were interesting through out the book. And the twist at the end was pleasantly surprising. Overall, a good reading experience.
Well I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Reads like a typical Chandamama story, only with more adult-y themes. The story within a story model was a little unnerving initially, but feels alright due to its faster pace.
