Changing Lanes by Leaona Luxx is the first book by this author that I read and I have to admit that it was an intense journey.

At first I expected this to be a second chance small town novel but I am happy that I was wrong and this story turned out to be so much more than that. It was not only well written and well developed no – it had even small suspense elements and it was so complex that the reader was taken on the journey together with the characters.

These characters were intense and I liked or disliked them as the author intended (I think) and there is really only one characters development that I disagree with and that is “THE” father.
I hope that it is no spoiler because I try to keep it as vague as possible while still telling my thoughts. So this father I am talking about is unfortunately not believable as character to me due to events happening towards the end of the book which kind of disturbed the flow for me as his role is an important one.

But other than that this is really an author to pay attention to and I am sure I will pick up another book when I come across one.

Therefore I would like to recommend this book to lovers of second chances.

Leaona, you blew me away with this love story. Honestly, from the moment the two main characters; Brannon and Torrie meet in college, you know their story will be an epic one. Both are driven to succeed for their families but for different reasons.

I fell in love with Brannon and his soulful southern charm. His looks may get him noticed, but he's intelligent, hard-working and any man who still opens a door and pulls out a chair for a woman is attractive right away in my book! It tells you his parents raised him with unconditional love and an undying work ethic..

Torrie has a completely different type of upbringing. Her family has money, and being an only child (female at that), her father is priming her to take over the family business. She's smart and very fun-loving regardless of how she's been raised and works her ass off in college to gain her father's pride and love!

Brannon and Torrie find that opposites definitely attract while attending college together. They truly fall in love at first sight! The passion, looks, and slight touches all lead to Torrie and Brannon consuming each other with all heart and soul. The fact sexually they spark a hayloft in a barn on fire (just kidding) adds to this being a page flipper.

Their story takes you through years of realizing that "Change" is inevitable in life, but maybe, just maybe true love conquers all!

Overall, I'm not one to review a book by copying it's book cover story. You can read that on your own. I picked this book up because I made a connection with it's author, Leaona Luxx, during a Facebook Book Group Takeover. Her sense of family values and passion match that of my own.
Those values come to life while reading this story. I loved this story and all the emotions it took me through.
The main characters and the back characters all came to life for me as I read.

So, if you believe in fighting with all you have in your being for "the one" that's meant to be your soulmate in life; then you must read this book!

Changing Lanes is the first book I read by this author, but it most certainly will not be the last! This story hit home for me. It’s heart breaking, yet breath taking, I found myself reaching for the tissues more than once. It has everything
Passion
Hot and steamy scenes and have you squirming in your seat, drama with a few twist and turns along with the way.

It’s a second chance love story about a guy called Brannon, he gets a second chance with the girl of his dreams Torrie, but it’s not smooth sailing, so many issues and drama try and get in the way of their happily ever after. I found myself obsessed with them from the beginning and rooting for their relationship to work, so every time something happened, it crushed me!

All I can say is be prepared for the ride of your life, it’s a raw, emotional love story that’ll have you reaching for tissues one minute and laughing and smiling like a dork the next!

4 stars because of the strong love they felt but damn, he would have gone after her. He should have told her what the father did. And then the 360 at the end with the parents??? No cheating. HEA

Brannon and Torrie have a great second chance romance. Brannon is just a good 'ol country boy and Torrie is from a wealthy family. They have many obstacles to overcome if they want to make their relationship work. There were times I wanted to slap and then other times I just wanted to wrap them up in a big hug.
A nice little side note is we get to see more of One, Lea, Hardy, and Thayer. I loved their characters form their books, but love them even more now.

Wow, Leona...just Wow! Just finished reading Changing Lanes tonight...and you knocked it out of the park. I love second chance romances, and this is without a doubt the best one I've EVER read! I loved Brannon and Torrie's story and how it tied in with Cherry Grove and Still Creek and getting to see updates on the lives of the people in those books! Please continue this series and let us know how it goes with Brannon and Torrie's new little one! Great work

Brannon is the down to earth country boy, Torrie is rich girl from New York, their worlds couldn’t be further apart, but their hearts know they were meant to be, if only they could convince the people in their lives of that fact. Just when it seems they can make it, they are torn apart, trust is broken by a lack of communication and hearts are destroyed, now 10 years later there could be a second chance, if they can see past the hurt to the truth, another book full of love and loss, I’m loving this intermingled series of books!.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Love follows no rules, it comes with no prejudices.  Love comes how it wants to, whether it fits society’s mold or not.  Love determines for itself where to settle.
There are books that you fall in love with.  There are books that simply amaze you.  Then there are books that give you bone defying chills while reading it–leaving you with a depth that simply leaves you in ——WOW.
I have read a lot of books and Changing Lanes has grew to be in my top 10 favorites of all times.  This story touched me in a way that I didn’t see coming, if I am honest.  Reading the blurb I knew it would be great but I just didn’t know how great.
Changing Lanes is breathtaking and heartbreaking all at the same time. How can a story be both you say???  By having a touching story that draws deep into the heart that’s how.  This book will definitely have you feeling like you are on one of the wildest rides of your life constantly “changing lanes” never seeing what’s coming.  Leaona definitely has your heart stopping at times and constantly never knowing what’s coming next.
“There’s gonna come a time when you’ll have to decide between the love you have and the love you want.  I just hope I’m here in the end.”
This book starts off with them in college.  Brannon O’Hurley is 18 and just starting college with a full ride scholarship to Virginia Tech hoping to major in engineering.  Brannon wants to just simply focus on school and get that engineer degree so he can go back home and put it to use and make his family’s farm everything his father and mother have ever wanted…he needs no distractions but on his first day–he gets just that–
Torrie Harrington is studying business at Virginia Tech hoping to one day take over in her father’s place as CEO of their family company.  But we learn really quick just how much of an asswipe her dad is.  My heart broke for how Torrie was treated because in the end all she has ever wanted from her family is to be loved and have their approval–mostly her father’s.
When these two meet on that first day–it was instant attraction.  A longing neither have ever had with another being.  The pull they had to each other was spellbounding– chemistry out of this world.  After beginning a relationship together they fall more and more…feelings growing more and more deep for each other.  They make plans to visit their families for the holidays but they soon realize that there are people out to make them unhappy.  Her Father is furious and makes it quiet obvious just how upset with this relationship he is so lies are told—-hearts are broken—trust is broken–hearts turn cold—walls are built.
Leaning closer, I drive my point home.   “I’ll be damned because you refuse to see me. I’ll be damned because you will never give me the opportunity to be forgiven.  I’ll be damned because my entire being burns to touch you, hold you, love you.  Yes, Torrie, I’ll be damned forever.”
10 years later fate decides for these two–and their lives are brought back together when her Father’s company has a project coming up.  Torrie and Brannon are brought face to face to the impending lies that where told and are faced with having to try to work through one of the biggest problems they will ever face.  They fight like you have never seen before and your heart will break for them.  You will want to do everything in your power to help mend their hearts back together after being so damaged—but sometimes there is too much damage and repair is no where in sight.  Words are said–emotions are shown and will have you fighting along with them for what we all want for them—for them to find their way back to each other.
“No one should ever judge how someone else finds love.  No matter the age, the person or the social acceptance.  LOVE IS LOVE.
Leaona will have you on the edge of your seat in her latest novel. This book tore my heart into.  Made me laugh.  Made me want to throw my damn kindle against the wall.  She brought forth a novel that was exceptionally well developed. Both the first and secondary characters where developed and I felt pulled to them all.  She gives us insight in just how badly people, whom have a high social status, can impact a person.  How they can damage her person.  People are cruel and it takes hearts like Brannon and Torrie to see that just because you are impacted by these people who can’t come out on top.  Incredible novel written by an increbile author.  This book will leave a huge impact on your heart.
It’s a novel that you will always remember.
5 AMAZINGLY AWESOME STARS!!!

******************************************
I actually wasn't asked to review this book from anyone...I just picked it up because I wanted to read something that was different from what I'd been reading. I was intrigued by the blurb and after reading the intro that they give you on kindle unlimited, I decided to buy it. I did not know that the same book I was getting ready to read was from the same author I would meet a couple of weeks from then. OMG!! I held myself together but really y'all...I was astounded that I didn't hop over her table and mob her. I wanted to buy ALL her books but I reserved myself to this one because it was the first one and only one I've read so far. It holds a very special place in my heart because it was not only my first book from this author (who by the way is awesome!!) but my first conference. I cried, I laughed, and I even wanted to throw my kindle at the wall a couple of times because of the absolute stupidity of Torrie sometimes...hindsight is always 20/20. I wanted to reach through and shake her and go "GIRL....please just ask Brannon about what happened!!! For the love of God, if you don't stop throwing it up in his face every 5 seconds - He needs to run yo tail over." I was seriously saying that and a bunch of people who know me so well are shaking their heads because....they know me.

Brannon - Dude had the patience and heart of a saint. I think I would have seriously buried her body on my ranch...probably halfway through and called it a day. But, then that would have been the end of the book! I hated Torrie's dad - I kind of kept hoping that he'd get hit by a semi, but that just NEVER happens or a bird would just crap on his head at the closing ceremony at the Hotel opening but nada...no poop!!

As a side note, working in mental health has taught me about women like Ava...Jesus help us for those types of women and y'all know if you're reading this and you've read the book if you're an Ava. I have this mental pic in my head of her and it's just crazzzy eyes lol. Leaona did this book an awesome justice and I'll definitely be reading her other books!! Pick it up and if you don't...then you're crazy!!

The premise of this book idea awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book do to the fact the characters had promise and the plot was spot on. Lots and lots and lots of drama. Wow, these two need to learn to communicate- because seriously.

Brannon and Torrie fell in love, and it was actually very sweet. But both of them have issues with family or ex's that need to be dealt with. The drama and anger created through this series of unfortunate events, by the third parties, made me want to throat punch someone. Years go by and it doesn't get any better... And Ava?? What is wrong with this chick. It just goes to show people aren't always as they seem.

Now that they have run into each other after so many years, the tension is high, and forgiveness doesn't seem even close to bubbling to the surface for either of them. So do these two figure it out? Do they show enough love to forgive one another? This book is definitely worth reading to figure that out.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. It's the first book from this author that I've read, and I very much would read another. 3.5/4 stars.

So I knew diving into this Lea was going to twist and turn my emotions. If you've read her first two books, you know she always breaks out the big guns and steals your heart. Well this book by far is the best thing she has ever written. I dove head first into this story and didn't want to come up for air. Within the first twenty percent my heart was breaking in half. Torrie comes from money and Brannon comes from almost nothing on his family farm. When they meet in college it's almost instant chemistry but Lea makes you work for it. They take their time in falling but not everyone wants them together. It's like one door after the other keeps slamming in their faces. At one point my heart was pounding and being ripped out of my chest at the same time. I was bouncing on the edge of my seat! She gives you so much emotion that you don't know which way is up or down. I literally fell in love with each character and would so read this over and over.

Man these are some crying folks, ok so I might have gotten a little teary eyed a time or two while enjoying this emotional and beautiful story by this author. This isn't my first book by this author but it was just as enjoyable. This book tells the love story, well love interrupted story of Torrie and Brannon. Thru hits and misfires and lack of communication and so much more these two run the gambit of it all to claim their love. But at the same time is this wonderful love going to survive and will the second time around be any better?

It's great to see some old friends from other books from this author and maybe just maybe the school of hard knocks they all dealt with will help Brannon and Torrie see the light. Loved it!!

I really loved this book. So many feels.

Soooooo Brannon & Torrie, Loved them but at times I really wanted to hurt both of them. (lol)

Ava, OMG hate hate hate her. Manipulative little wench. She was the cause of alot of drama for these two.

Of you've never read Leaona, pick up this book. She really makes you feel like you know these characters, that they are your friends. Personally that's what I love about a book.

This review is vague yes but alot happens in the story and I don't want to spoil anything. I mainly went in blind and so glad I did.

*Honest review for an ARC from the author. Which it no way affects my star rating*

This book was AMAZING! I absolutely fell in love with Brannon and Torrie.... To see what they went through for years and then to be met face to face. I got angry, at Ava... and Torrie, and even Brannon a couple of times. I laughed, I cried, and I wanted to jump in the book and beat someone. I think this might be my favorite book written by Leaona yet. It was such and emotional story. I found it hard to put down. I'm not going to give anything away, so I'm going to say this..... GET THIS BOOK! You won't be sorry.. I can't wait to see what is going to happen next.

This book was a little hard for me to review. When I started the book I didn't immediately connect with the story. But I continued to read. Both the main characters were cute and sweet. I was excited that the book was a second chance story. But I don't know some of the parts in the book seem to be dragged out. I didn't Ike Ava. I felt like she was too much and I couldn't like her character at all. The story is cute and it has emotional sections which I liked a lot. Both characters have struggles throughout the story. If you like second chance stories this book is for you!

This is the best book I have read from Leaona Luxx. This a heart wrenching romance that spans ten years. Brannon and Torrie are the most frustrating but loveable characters I have met. They go through many obstacles to get their HEA and reading this book is totally worth the tears and screams. I highly recommend that this book be read by everyone. You will not be disappointed

It's true what they say when your young your invincible and your just not very smart especially when it comes to one thing her name is Ava she's the kind of trouble that will follow Brennon for a lifetime. And one mistake before he leaves for college to Virginia Tech will ruin his chance with Torrie his soul mate. Brennon has just landed at college and he knows he's found the perfect girl they may come from completely different backgrounds but there ment for each other until her father interfere andit will be 10 years before he has a chance at happiness again.

Torrie is just trying to please her father know matter what she's tried for years to be the son he never had she went to the school he wanted she joined her fathers company and lost the love of her life Brennon but that's his fault or so she thinks there's allot of pain and lies between Brennon and Torrie can them working together on a project for Torrie's father fix what's broken or will Brennon's ex be the final thing that ends there second chance.

So I liked this book but there were times were the emotional drama was to much Ava well she was definitely a side of crazy and not in a good way and Torrie's father was so wrong and awful how could Torrie forgive him so easily in the end. Did I feel like maybe things were drawn out a bit in the book kinda could I have done with a little less arguing between Torrie and Brennon yes both of them had listing problems and truth problems but by the end they finally got there so this is a drama angst ridden emotional roller coaster ride of a read that will either make you want to slap a character or just give them a shoulder to cry on.

This is just my second book by Leaona, but she is definitely an author who’s books I want to continue to read. Her writing brings such a mix of realism as her characters face adversity and obstacles, with enough heart to feed your soul. Her writing will evoke emotions, LOTS of emotions!

I love reading books that engage my brain, my emotions and my imagination. Leanna’s books certainly do that and more. The two books I’ve read have full of characters I want to get to know more, and learn about their journeys. These books have each stood on their own within a connected series.

When I go back and read the earlier books in the series even though I will ‘know’ where these characters end up and with whom, I know their stories are going to be just so rich and engaging that the ‘knowing’ won’t matter.

As all other Leaona’s books that I read, this is not a simple story.
The twists and turns doesn’t end, but keep you breathless, didn’t know what to expect next.
Some twist are predictable, but others are not. And all tha book you just wonder what will happend next?
Torrie and Bran are wonderful people - real, with flaws and all…
And even that sometimes their stubbornness exasperated me, I really liked them.
And their story is heart welming.

I must say I already read Ava’s HEA in “Love, Riley” and there she was endearing.
I was sorry for her, for her choises, her mistakes… I partially understand her, and in the end, even liked her.
But here, Ava is a total bitch!
I recommend “Love, Riley” to see how she redeem herself. Worth it!.

Two young lovers torn apart by family, obligations, and total lack of communication. Ten years later Brannon and Torrie find each other again and even though the attraction is even stronger, without talking about the past, learning what really happened all those years ago, they will never get past it. This is the story of two people so right for each other that I couldn’t help but cheer them on while at the same time sit them both down to talk until they could see not only their miscommunication, what they were told was not always the truth.
A great book proving second chances at love do happen.

Brannon and Torie meet in college and have an instant connection. They come from different backgrounds, but they don't seem to care. Things don't end well between them, and Torie puts everything behind her to move towards taking over her family's business. When a job isn't going as planned her father sends her to deal with it. This is when she runs into Brannon again. Will they get their second chance to be together?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This emotional rollercoaster will have your heart all over the place. Torrie only wanted to make her father happy since she wasn't the son he wanted and did everything her controlling father wanted. When Brannon and Torrie connect much to her father's angst does everything in his power to break them apart. Ten years later they reconnect through a project that brings Brannon in. The sparks are still there between these two and when the truth comes out about what happened years ago, will it be enough to have Brannon and Torrie rekindling their love?

This story is basically in two parts, ten years ago and present time. We also get a lot of our other Cherry Grove friends and family in the present part of the story, but it is not necessary to have read any of the other stories first. Brannon and Torrie have a real roller coaster ride. They both act pretty irrationally at times (especially Torrie), but I think it is more understandable as the story plays out. They are very intense. Their insecurities are their downfall, along with Torrie’s father and Ava.

Southern Comfort is a beautiful second chance love story between two people who were destined to be together. Torrie and Brannon were young and in love but her controlling father was against it so he made sure they broke up. Years later they reconnect and the spark is still there. They finally get their second chance at love. I have read nine books so far by Leaona Luxx and I have loved them all. The writing is well done and the characters are well developed and believable. The story flowed smoothly and the ending is perfect.
