In Crave Me, it’s time for the sole sister in the family to discover love.
Wren O’Brien isn’t your typical female. As the only girl from a loud Irish family with seven siblings, she prefers fast cars to lip gloss and bad boys to good men. It’s the reason she’s nursing a wounded soul and keeping her distance from a dangerous ex.
Evan Jonah is running an empire and just moved from the lavish thoroughfares of London to the gritty streets of Philadelphia. When he walks into the nearest dealership, he’s expecting to find a reliable vehicle to handle the brutal winters, not a sexy female car rep with killer legs.
Wren doesn’t know why “Hotness in a Suit” asked her out. She doesn’t expect a great time or a night of passion that knocks her on her ass. But that’s exactly what Evan shows her.
She also never counted on how hard and fast she’d fall. But men like Evan—good men with even better hearts—don’t desire tough-talking Philly girls for long.
Evan has never met a woman like Wren. But he’s up for the challenge and ready to prove her wrong.
Cecy Robson is a New York Times, USA Today, and international bestselling author.
As an immigrant of El Salvador with proud Nahua Pipil indigenous heritage, Cecy worked as a registered nurse for twenty-three years and is honored to have received multiple accolades for her writing. In her free time, Cecy creates magical worlds, heart-stopping romance, and young adult adventure.
You can find Cecy laughing, crying, and cheering on her characters as she pens her next story.
Cecy has this fantastic ability to suck you into her stories. She takes difficult topics head on and doesn't cut corners in her portrayals. Wren and Evan are no exception. Their first meeting was memorable and the premise not something I've read in my "several hundred books a year" experience, so I enjoyed it. Wren is a strong heroine with a vulnerability that humanizes her. Evan is a man with dimensions that knows his mind and doesn't play games. Together, they compliment one another in a way that gets a reader engaged.
The story laid out a strong foundation for a believable relationship that had an opportunity to experience growth. The plot was interesting and paced well. The writing excellent and consistent throughout the series thus far. This is an auto-read author for me and she continues to earn that loyalty with every book she pens. Safety: No others for either of them. Yes to abuse. No to rape.
4.5 Total Cecy Robson Magic Stars * * * * 1/2 Spoiler Free It's Live!!! As you can tell from the title of this review...I fell hard for this book.... It had everything I love in a romance or any kind of book, for that matter... You have the amazing central core of the O'Brien Family... Loud, Loving and mostly men who like to tease and torture each other while caring about whether everything is good in their world. Each family member has been fleshed out and we have been wanting to know all there is to know about every single one.
Wren O’Brien has been a huge point of interest ... as the only daughter... surrounded by all these Manly Men, Strong Parents and Tough Town...She has had to be one Strong Cookie...
And that is the outside image she has always presented in every way...Especially when she broke up with her ex. Wren being Wren, a tried and true Philly girl, would never let her family know what the real cause of the break up was...She was too embarrassed...too humiliated. Better to let it all go and move on.
And for Wren, she did... every day. She was a woman in control...She was the top notch sales person at the Ford Dealership where she worked. It was a "Mom and Pop" lot that had been her first job. Very quickly she moved through the ranks as the dealership grew... from doing the administration to being the top closer on the floor. Her honesty and straightforward way of communicating with the customers became legend. Wren had a wall of honors and photographs in her office... Rows and rows of happy customers...some, the children of past customers... all smiling and waving keys to their new Fords beaming out at her. Thank You letters and cards dotted the walls, too. All keepsakes and concrete proof of the type of woman Wren was...
If you look in the dictionary for Suave, Sophisticated, British James Bond Type and Opposite of Wren O'Brien....You would find Evan Jonah, Tech Genius. He was "Hotness in a Suit". A man who had lived a life of decorum, of serious business success at a very young age and had incredible loss and pain. This was a man determined to save the State Side Division of his late Father's Company. He was up against it...as there were factors which had been causing all kinds of wrong... and he was in Philadelphia to make things right.
What was not going right was the Jaguar he was driving on the snow slicked roads. It was only a matter of time before his luck would run out and he would be a casualty from the way these drivers were moving. Evan sees a huge dealership and makes the decision to get a vehicle that can handle this weather.
Wren is in the back of the showroom and sees the maneuvering of a crass salesman trying to take Evan away one of the newer associates who just happens to be a woman...The guy does this all the time and she will not have it.
As Wren gives this guy a What For... Evan is taking this all in...
He is captivated... He is enthralled... And he has decided this woman is someone he wants to know better. Only problem...Wren doesn't date customers.
Although....this Evan is something else... They have a lunch...She thinks of it as just "Closing the Deal". He thinks of it as "Getting to know her".
And we are off ....
These two... these supposed opposites...are perfect together in their differences... She is afraid her ways and big family will scare him... Little does she know, everything about her and her family is all he has ever wanted in his life...
And most of all...when these two are "Together Together", heh heh.... OMG... it is more than ANYTHING either of them have experienced before...They are equals to the core and bring out the best for each other...Wren allows Evan to feel... experience real passion and joy. Evan allows Wren to let her guard down and be herself...even the unsure part of herself.
There is more to this story then just this romance... there is a couple of subplots which are woven in and work perfectly. They are the necessary weight and intrigue for the read. We get delicious bits of the O'Brien family, their dynamic and love for each other. We see them look out for Wren and with the addition of Evan... it is engaging.
This series works on so many levels. We always have the main story with an O'Brien finding their person...but we also get bits and pieces of this family, causing us to want more...and the next entry is going to be a doozy.
Declan, Mr. Know It All, has finally met his match and can't seem to do anything right around her...
~~~~~ Before Reading ~~~~~ Oh, what fun... A Feisty Gal... A Sexy Man and Total Attraction on both sides... ●•●•●•●•●•●•●• Dec 15, 2016 Cecy Robson has already stolen our hearts with the O'Brien Family and all of their siblings... The First O'Brien Brother was Curran and his blast from the past, Tess in Once Kissed Then we fell hard for Brother Finn and his woman, Sol in Let Me
Now Wren O’Brien has the spotlight on her ... And this ought to be Very Interesting Because Wren is not your typical Girly Girl... And the man who goes after her will stop at nothing to make her....
Crave Me-February 28, 2017
A gifted copy was provided by author/publisher for an honest review.
A deliciously sweet, sexy and heartwarming story that gripped me from start to finish.
As the youngest of seven and the only girl in the bunch, Wren O’Brien loves sports more than fashion, is as loud mouthed as any of her brothers and is equally brave. But her bad choice in men has left her with more than a few painful scars and a sociopath stalker that pushes her to avoid any kind of relationship with the opposite sex until a well-dressed, well-mannered, mouthwatering, nerd visits the car dealership she works at and changes her life forever.
Evan Jonah moved from London to Philadelphia to save the empire his father left him. He’s overwhelmed with work, consumed by his need to succeed and barely has time to eat much less to get involved with the sexy sales rep who helps him find the perfect car and captivates him with her strength, gregariousness and ability to make him smile. Will he run for the hills when her past comes knocking or will he prove to her that as with his company, he’s not afraid to fight for what he wants?
Cecy Robson became an instant author to look out for with her great writing, loveable characters, good plot development and a story with just right pace wrapped up in sexy, sweet and swoony delightfulness, and Crave Me definitely delivered on all fronts.
I liked Wren instantly, she didn’t take anyone’s baloney sitting down, she’s outspoken and strong, smart and not afraid to work hard. I kind of wanted to be her friend. Evan is perfect, actually he was a little too perfect for me at first with looks, smarts, money, he doesn’t just want to save his company, he wants to help the world be a better place. But I couldn’t help but fall for the man as I got to know him, who can deny a wonderfully sweet, attentive robotics nerd with an alpha caveman edge?
From the moment they met the attraction was clear and they didn’t hesitate much to act on it. Even though they came from different backgrounds they complemented each other well and I loved how Robson builds their sweet and very hot relationship from lovers, to friends, to a very deep and lovely romance even though the road to get there is somewhat bumpy.
There were so, so many sexy moments as well as very tender ones I highlighted my eReader I had a really hard time deciding what to put. I’m glad Robson made great teasers!
I really enjoyed Wren’s family and all the rest of the supporting characters which gave the story an added layer. I can’t believe I haven’t read the first two books in the series, something I’ll remedy ASAP and I can’t wait to read the next one.
Crave Me is book #3 in the O’Brian Family by Cecy Robson. It is a standalone contemporary romance told from both points of view with a happy ending.
I admit I was a tad wary going into Crave Me as I didn't get on with it's predecessor, Let Me, but most of what I've read from Cecy Robson has worked for me in the past and I do love the O'Brien family, particularly Wren.
There is nothing quiet and unassuming about Erin O'Brien: she's grown up with six brothers, 5 of them older, so to say she's headstrong and driven would be an understatement. But she's lovely with it and, as her feelings for Evan Jonah develop, we get see deeper into her: beneath her confidence lies a vulnerability and one that is hugely understandable. Evan is a complete sweetheart, I loved him. British, a gent, wealthy but so down-to-earth, he's a big-hearted loveable geek, who brings out the very best in Wren as she does him, and I appreciated how angst-free their relationship generally was and how they were simply two people navigating their way down the path of true love.
"I’ve been trying to be good. But tonight, I want more than a little naughty."
There is drama and action--you don't pick up a book by Cecy Robson and not expect to find that--but it wasn't overplayed: it didn't take the focus away from Wren and Evan's romance and instead added to their growing feelings and being of importance to the storyline. Basically the complete opposite to Let Me. And I loved the technology aspect with Evan's invention, Alfred who is basically the bigger, badass brother of a fairly well known voice controlled machine from an equally well known online retailer.
"As much as I’ve lived, I wasn’t alive until I met you."
Crave Me is romantic, sexy and full of feeling, and was an all-round, well-paced enjoyable visit with the O'Brien clan. And with Declan featuring a little more this time around, still amusingly putting his foot in his mouth when it comes to Mel, I'm hoping their story is soon.
As I am book obsessed and I know that I am surrounded by like-minded people. I’m sure that you know that when you go on a book one click binge or request binge that you are so stuck in your mania that you can’t really remember what you did. Never happened to you? Then you’ve never lived.
When after a couple of weeks you back track to see what is on your kindle and you realise that you have a book that you requested you recognise the author from one other book you read by her and it didn’t quite work for you. Is like shite what was I thinking?
I do not back down from a challenge so I took the plunge and read it anyway. Let me tell you something.
I love everything about this book. I’m floored by how much I actually enjoyed it.
Wren O’Brien comes from a big, loud and boisterous Irish family. Wren is actually one of my favourite female main characters that I’ve read this year. She has a heart of gold. She is funny, potty mouthed, clever, sassy but has a vulnerable side that not a lot of people see not even her family does. She isn’t your typical female and that is exactly why I love her. She is a lady who I would go out and get rat arsed with. I’m totally girl crushing on her.
Evan Jonah is the opposite of Wren he has a quiet strength to him. He is a nerd on the surface but in reality he is an absolute beast. Especially in the bedroom. His intelligence is sexy as hell. He’s always been somewhat of a loner and kept himself apart from the rest of the world.
On the surface they couldn’t be more different. Evan likes chess. Wren likes sports, Evan has no clue.
“You don’t watch sports?” He shakes his head. “I suppose the races are out of the question.” “Horse races?” Jesus God, help me. “NASCAR,” I clarify.
Evan has been waiting for a woman like Wren, hell even the in your face Irish family. But dig a little deeper and they are made for one another. They have things in common and the things they don’t? Makes the even better together.
They are explosive in the bedroom and although Wren has always kept an impeccable reputation she can’t help but fall for Evan. And they both fall hard. But not all is smooth sailing. Wren has a sociopathic stalker. There are several close calls.
There is a great balance of suspense with banter and passionate that makes you want to read it as soon as possible. At the end I was left wanting more.
“Sauron, you’re eleven. I’m twenty-eight. I know you don’t want to hear this, but you and me, are never going to happen. By the time you’re old enough to drive I’ll already be two point five kids in, driving a mini-van packed with diapers, binkies, and one of those bouncy chairs your little sister can’t get enough of.” “Love knows no age limits, baby,” he counters.
I love Ms. Robson’s writing style in this book and will at some point go and back track and read the first two books in the series and hope to see more of this hilarious Irish family.
My verdict is that I would reread it again without a shadow of a doubt. But the one thing I was irritated by is that I didn’t get an epilogue.
Crave Me by Cecy Robson was a great read. From the first page I was hooked, I found myself turning the pages and getting lost in Wren and Evan and all the O'Brien clan :D The storyline was sweet, romantic, swoon worthy, angsty and HOT! The characters Wren and Evan were wonderful, memorable characters and I couldn't get enough of them. They made me laugh, they made me swoon and they made me cry. Damn I loved!
Having read the previous books in the O'Brien Family series I couldn't wait to read Wren's book and I'm thrilled to say it didn't disappoint. Author Cecy Robson created the perfect man for our beloved Wren. Evan was smart, sensitive, funny, patient and I loved how he wasn't afraid to open his heart and to give all of himself to Wren.
Crave Me is a beautifully written, heartfelt book that will bring out all the feels and leave you with a huge smile on your face. Another fab read by author Cecy Robson, and I highly recommend it!
If there is one thing I can count on whenever I open a book written by Ms. Robson, it is that I'm going to get one hell of a story that will tug on my heart strings, make me smile more than cry, and always give me a good time with a heart stopping, heart pounding romance that will leave me melting into a big puddle of goo by the time the story is over.
And with her latest story, that is exactly what I got.
I have to confess something first, lately, this genre, once upon a time my most favorite genre of all time, just hasn't been doing it for me lately. In fact, I avoid them like the plague. I have no idea why other than I think I was burnt out on the same ole same ole getting repeated time and time again but when I saw Cecy had a new book in her O'Brien series I knew that no matter what, I needed to come out of my romance funk and try it because it would be great, because let's face it, all her stories are great.
I'm so glad I took a chance because not only have I been waiting for Wren's story, but it truly was worth the wait and the dive back into this genre. I seriously gobbled it up and even wanted more by the time it was done. It was heartfelt and heart warming and all those things that first made me fall in love with the genre to begin with.
Once again Cecy delivered with a punch to the solar flees at times and stomp to the heart at others but in the end, always delivering with the happily ever afters that we all love and crave. This was such a wonderful story and one I'm so glad I took the time to read and love.
I had an absolute blast with this book! I like a good romance and have seen Cecy Robson's books around for several years but had never had the chance to read one so I excited to give her work a try. I think I have been missing out because this book was amazing. Once I started listening, I didn't want to stop. I am so glad that I decided to take a chance with this book.
Wren and Evan were such great characters and they worked really well as a couple. Wren is tough, smart, and seems to win everyone over very quickly. Evan is dedicated to keeping his company going and is willing to make the necessary sacrifices to make it happen. He is very focused on business until he meets Wren. I thought that these two characters had fantastic chemistry and their relationship felt really authentic.
This book has so many elements that I enjoyed. I loved the fact that there was a good amount of humor worked into this story. I was actually laughing out loud as I read certain passages and had a big grin on my face through much of the story. I also liked the bit of mystery in the story. I had a feeling that something was going to happen but I was never quite sure what it would be. There were a few pretty exciting moments before this book was over.
Tara Langella has easily made her way onto my list of favorite narrators with this book. She really brought this story to life through her narration. Her voices for Wren, Evan, and the other characters were all incredibly varied and full of emotion. I thought that the special effects that occasionally showed up during phone calls and other similar events really added a nice touch to the overall audio production. I think that the quality of the narration really added to my overall enjoyment of the book.
I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. This is the third book in the O'Brien Family series but I thought it worked perfectly as a stand alone. This was a wonderful romance filled with fantastic characters that really had me wanting to see them find their happily every after. I can't wait to read more from Cecy Robson.
I received a review copy of this audiobook from the author via Caffeinated Services.
Initial Thoughts I loved this book! I may end up bumping my rating up a star once I have a chance to process this story. Evan and Wren were great together and I loved the fact that they didn't play a lot of games with each other. I thought that the humor added a really nice element to the story. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator, Tara Langella, did an amazing job with the story. I thought that the audio production was really top notch with a few special effects for phone calls really taking everything to a new level.
The narration here was exceptional! I loved how this narrator gave voice to Wren who had a deep Philly accent that I’m actually going to miss now that it’s over. I did struggle some with her British accent for Evan but I loved everything else about this narration that I was able to quickly adjust to it. (I did have to adjust the speed a few times when she was giving us his POV.) Each character here had wonderfully distinctive voices that I adapted to quickly and was able to recognize. This was just an amazing listen and I’m definitely going to be hunting up more from this narrator.
Wow! This book was wonderful! I loved Wren and Evan! Their relationship was completely organic. I enjoyed watching them grow closer and even deal with “real life” as Evan is struggling with his business. When the big conflict between these two arose, I was really, really afraid one of these characters was going to make an awful decision. I was thrilled when this author kept what Wren and Evan felt for each other true and allowed them to work through it.
This had a great pace to it and a ton of steam and chemistry between the hero and heroine. And holy heck! I’m absolutely in love with Wren’s family! That alone will have me searching out the other books in this series. Overall, I can’t recommend this book enough!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Dual POV Safe Triggers drugged and coerced to have sex; physical abuse
Wow! This book will make you fall in love with both the hero, Evan, and the heroine, Wren. They were great together! I laughed, swooned, cringed and was close to tears at both awful and happy times. I wish there had been an epilogue. Wanted more of their story :)
H - Loved the H. Think he was around 31 years old. Not a manwhore. He's been celibate for 10 months. The biggest negative for me was that he had two long term relationships before the h. One lasted for 2 years, the last one lasted 3 years.
h - h, 28, grew on me. I don't usually like h's that cuss a lot, but she was pretty great. Tough, smart and a good person. Celibate one year.
ow drama - Minor. Ow wants H, but he has never been interested in her.
om drama - Yes. Ex doesn't want to let h go, but h has zero interest in him. He is crazy and tries to sabotage h/H relationship.
Safe sex - Yes. Condoms used to start with. Later, safe sex discussion and went bare.
Violence/bloody/disturbing scene/s - Yes. I was really bothered by something that happened in the h's past. We are kept guessing what happened in the h's past and that's probably for the best. When the details come out, I did have to take a few days off from reading this. It was the ultimate betrayal.
I've been looking forward to reading Wren's story ever since we were introduced to the O'Brien family and Crave Me didn't disappoint. As the only girl growing up amongst six brothers Wren learned to stand up for herself from a young age, her brothers are all incredibly protective of her but she has grown up fierce and ready to fight her own battles. She has a loud personality and knows exactly what she wants from life but she also has a really sweet, generous and loving side and she cares a lot about the people in her circle.
Evan is a wealthy businessman who is working hard to turn his company into something successful after the previous managers nearly ran it into the ground. He's is a bit of a geek, definitely a tech expert and he's totally different to the kind of guys that Wren usually dates but there is no denying the attraction between them. They are opposites in many ways but their differences compliment each other and when it comes to important values they're definitely on the same page.
I absolutely loved the way their romance develops, their attraction may be instant but the friendship and respect that builds between them takes time in a totally natural and very believable way. They have great chemistry but they fit together outside of the bedroom too and I really enjoyed watching them work together to achieve their goals. There are some issues that they have to deal with, mainly thanks to Wren's stalker of an ex but I though they handled their problems brilliantly and I liked the way they talked things through with each other and came up with solutions together.
We get the chance to catch up with all of Wren's brothers which is always fun and it's just made me more eager than ever to get to know the ones who haven't had stories yet. I'm not sure who I hope comes next but I have a feeling it might be Declan, I want to read all of their stories eventually though so I don't really mind what order we get them in. This series is definitely a must read for me, the sex is hot, the romances are sweet and well developed, the banter is amusing and the sibling rivalry always makes me smile. The O'Brien's are a close knit family, they may drive each other nuts but they are always there for each other and I love the way they're so protective of each other, you just know that if any of them has a problem the others would drop everything to help them.
Cecy Robson’s talent must never be doubted, and this volume is proof of it once again. I could praise her novels and especially her romances but I think you will understand it yourself if you get started! I sincerely think you will not be disappointed, I am as always under the spell.
We discover Wren O’Brien here, the only daughter of the family. She did not have an easy life, far from it and her bad choices in men made her very suspicious. However, as soon as she meets Evan, something changes, a link is created between them. But Evan is very different from the men she usually meets, he is kind, good and he listens … A man too good for her and yet she can not help but hope that maybe it could work between them. Evan is all that he seems to be, but he is also a hard worker. CEO in his father’s enterprise, he hopes to finally get it out of the shipwreck in which it has placed itself in order to make survive what remains of his father, but this success is only possible by continuous and intense work.
Their meeting is really cute, and despite their problem we feel a real attachment on each side. But they are going to have to try to find time for each other, to overcome their uncertainties and it will be a big job to carry out all that as Wren still has to manage the consequences of her last relationship. Indeed, it seems that she is harassed and the culprit is nothing but her last lover. With crescendo problems, can our two lovebirds manage to save their story?
I really enjoyed this novel and the characters. We find all the ones we had already discovered and it was a pleasure to learn a little more about Wren this time. This heroine may seem strong, full of determination and have confidence but it is finally a facade and we learn to discover her insecurities. The poor girl had to go through a lot of hardships alone, but Evan may finally help her get her head out of the water.
It was a lovely romance that I enjoyed reading. I was really glad that Wren was finally tumbling on someone good even though she had a lot to deal with.
You know, I don't think I've ever read a book by Cecy Robson that I haven't just absolutely adored. This was no different. She gives you characters you can identify with and a story that enthralls you.
Wren was great! Smart and sassy, but hiding a vulnerable heart. And Evan was perfect. Both had some issues in their past and have worked hard to not let them define who they are. They brought out the best in each other.
As always, the rest of the O'Brien family was great! I love their loyalty and protectiveness.
*thanks to Tasty Book Tours for sharing a copy of this with me*
Crave Me? Why yes, I did. I love the O'Brien series and anticipate each new story about how an O'Brien sibling finds their way to love. In this story, we get Wren, the only sister and tough gal. Who would be the special man who could accept an openly strong, brash alpha female and see through the obvious to the beautiful woman inside, too? Well that was the million dollar question, wasn't it? And I worried a little, but Cecy Robson has a gift and she gave us a hero that Wren and every other woman will swoon over- dear Evan...
Crave Me is book three in the O'Brien series which spins-off of the older Shattered Past series. While this one would be doable as out of order or standalone, it does build on the earlier books as Wren was revealed in her brothers' romances.
The story opens with new to town and overwhelmed, Evan Jonah trying to traverse winter on the Philly streets and finally deciding he needed a better car for this. He pulls into the first car dealership that catches his eye. And that was the moment he met the colorful and brazen, but generous and fun, Wren O'Brien. Wren sells him a car and leaves him with a new private project- figuring out how he can coax Wren into seeing him again.
Wren has been struggling privately getting over a huge mistake when she trusted the wrong man with her heart. He abused more than her heart and now, he won't let her go even after the big dust up and she can't go to the cops or her brothers because the jerk is a cop and will not hesitate to bring harm to her family or cause her family to get into trouble going after him. So when gorgeous, attractive, and sweet gentlemanly Evan Jonah comes along, she is tempted, but gunshy.
Evan is in Philadelphia because he is trying to turn around the failing US branch of the family tech business. For so long his father was too ill and had to trust managers, but now Evan is of age and ready to save his father's dream. Because he won't deal with unethical buyers, its a long slow grind back into the black. Too many employees have gotten away with doing little and doing whatever they want. He needs staff he can count on and begins going about it, but he's alone and nobody has his back until Wren O'Brien strides back into his life.
Wren gives into her wants and decides to take on helping Evan bring his business back online. Oh and who is she fooling, she wants Evan too. Only her past will not let her go and now has Evan in his crosshairs too. Wren can no longer hide her weakness and mistake from her family or Evan if she wants to stand a chance at future happiness.
Alright, this was another fantastic O'Brien story. I adore the setting of Philadelphia, old family and friends, and plots that blend personal growth, a romance that is layered and true, and the ongoing story of family. This story didn't miss a trick and hits all the emotions and the senses.
Wren is the tough gal and only girl child of the O'Brien family. This keeps her from going to family and letting them soothe her wounds when she picks the wrong guy (a sociopath) and he abuses her emotionally and mentally while stalking her after she broke away and tried to move on. She's a self-defense instructor and comes from the hard streets of Philly so she struggles to believe that she let herself be the victim. This is her survivor story and how she grew to understand that she made a mistake when she shut everyone out. It was thoughtfully and beautifully written.
Evan is a brilliant man and is a hard guy in the office, but Wren is the one who gets past his defenses and does it with her brash, funny ways and her honest approach to life. He knows that this is the woman for him, but must figure out to how to balance work with life outside the office. And he has his own painful past that he must learn from while figuring out how to be the man Wren needs when he learns her story.
The overall plot of Wren's stalker and Evan's race to save his business were the perfect action to blend with their romance. It kept the pace moving and offered excitement, but I was happy for the scenes when all the O'Briens came together, too. The romance is the big draw to the stories, but the family togetherness is integral and the heart of these stories.
In summary, this built on the overall amazingness of the series. Wren and Evan's story made me laugh, sigh, swoon, hold my breath, and tear up once. All that a contemporary romance fan could ask for. Ready for the next O'Brien to get his story...
My thanks to the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
The O'Brien family is made up of seven children and Wren is the only girl which means she is tough as nails. She has a mouth of a sailor but looks like a beauty queen and the combination throws Evan for a loop when they first meet. Evan is quite and would never date someone like Wren, but there is something about her that he is drawn to and it's not just her looks.
Crave Me is a classic case of opposites attracts but the way Cecy Robson writes it, it's far from boring. Robson takes you on a ride that involves romance, laughter and suspense. Taking that ride with Evan and Wren was peer joy. Wren is the type of woman you want to be friends with and Evan is the sweet, sexy guy that you would want for your own. Seeing how they grow to love each over months (that's right there's no instant-a-love here) and how the enrich each others lives made their HEA all the more sweet and believable. Do not worry, it wasn't all "sweet" there was plenty of naughty in their journey to that HEA and if you like a bit of mystery and suspense with your romance than Robson has you covered too.
Wren's ex is a dangerous man who likes to pop up from time to time to remind her of the hell he put her through but between her overprotective brothers and Evan she has nothing to worry about or does she? You'll have to read Crave Me to find out if this couple makes it unmarked to their HEA.
I highly recommend Crave Me to romance lovers and I can't wait for the next novel, Feel Me [May 23rd 2017] featuring Declan, Assistant District Attorney, one of many of Wren's brothers, but until then I'm going back and reading Once Kissed and Let Me.Read this review in its entirety at The Book Nympho
I was charmed by this one right from the start. I like how strong Wren was, how smitten Evan was with Wren. They were so different you wouldn't think they would match, but they did. Wren helped Evan become a bit more laid back, to do something else more than work, while Evan seemed to allow Wren to shine when given the opportunity. The two of them worked miracles with the company, thought out of the box to make it stronger and still hold to the morals that Evan wanted.
While not a happy conversation I liked how both Wren and Evan talked about their parental issues. It helped both of them understand better.
Wren's ex was such a problem in this one. I loved that when the ex pulled the big hurt, Evan let Wren know he backed her in a great way, one that helped the problem go away.
The best part was the ending, loved how Evan had Wren's whole family in on his plan and showed Wren know just how much he loved her.
As we have been getting to know the O'Brien family in the previous books in the series, I have loved Erin aka Wren's character. She is the only sister in a family of seven kids, so having 6 overprotective brothers has shaped her to be a little different than many women. She learned at an early age to give as good as she gets, and she can more than hold her own when any of her siblings decides to go into caveman mode on her. That strength has served her well in her job as a car salesperson too as we see in the opening chapter much to the amusement of the potential buyer and the annoyance of one overbearing chauvinistic jerk of a coworker.
Having only recently arrived in PA, Evan is quickly learning that his current mode of transportation is no match for snow and ice so he heads straight to the nearest dealership to find himself something more appropriate. His first encounter with Erin is nothing like he would have expected, but he is immediately intrigued by her straight talk and obvious strength of character. She is radically different from the other women he has had in his life previously, and that is not a bad thing. For a short time, he loses himself in conversation with her and is actually able to forget his worries over his company's future for a short time. Although she initially shoots him down when he asks her to dinner, Evan is a man used to getting what he wants so he won't be giving up that easily.
Wren is painfully aware that they are from 2 very different worlds but that doesn't stop her from thinking about him constantly. She learned the hard way that nice guys don't always turn out to be so nice in the end since she is still dealing with an abusive ex with stalker tendencies who seemed to be a great guy on the surface. Evan's persistence wins her over, and as she gets to know him a bit better, he really does seem to be as great a man on the inside as he looks to be on the outside. But how can a wealthy and extremely hot guy like him possibly be interested in a straight talking Philly girl who is as comfortable on the streets as she is in a corporate setting?
Evan may be a corporate powerhouse who is a genuinely nice guy, but he definitely still has the soft heart of a lonely little boy beneath the exterior of a confident business man. He and Wren discover they have more in common than they realized as they learn more about each other, and she is definitely drawn to every aspect of this amazing man more with every day that passes. His confidence and poise certainly come in handy when he unexpectedly meets not one but all 6 of her brothers and their significant others after one hot night together- and oh boy, does he ever need it when their aforementioned caveman tendencies show themselves full force at the thought of their baby sister actually being with a man *gasp*! Erin puts them in their place in short order but I couldn't stop laughing at their antics.
Remember the borderline stalker ex I mentioned earlier? Well he doesn't just toe that line, he jumps right across it and leaves it well in the rearview mirror to complicate Wren and Evan's life before too long. She has always prided herself on her strength and independence, so she is ashamed that she couldn't handle the problem on her own. When the incidents start to escalate though, she has to share what happened with Evan and her brothers Curran and Declan who both work as part of the justice system.
Crave Me had a wonderful mix of love, heat, and humor to offset the moments of danger and suspense. Erin and Evan had plenty of chemistry and there were more than a few fan-yourself moments in this one! She also teaches him how to connect with his employees as she helps him navigate the troubled waters surrounding his business's future. And her 11 year old neighbor Sauron adds some levity to the pages as he fancies himself in love with Wren and tries to intimidate Evan in his own little street-tough ways that had me giggling right along with them. If you have read the previous books, then you will enjoy the familiar faces of Sofia, Killian, Curran, Tess, Finn and Sol, but if you haven't then have no worries because each book in the series easily stands alone to enjoyed separately. Now I am really looking forward to her brother Declan's story which will be coming in a few months. That man may be a successful up and coming attorney in the DA's office, but he has a horrible talent for completely putting his foot in his mouth over and over again with the one woman who has piqued his interest in years, and she is going to give him a run for his money that I cannot wait to witness! In the meantime, be sure to 1-click your copy of Crave Me and get to know Wren and Evan in this highly enjoyable story!
Overall rating 4.5 STORY: 4 Robson’s Crave Me gripped from the first sentence of this fantastic romantic suspense staring the most unlikely of couples and didn’t let go until The End. From the filterless mouth of the real-deal heroine to the smooth British accent of the smooth talking super nerd hero Robson spins one heck of a story combing a love story that’s a mix of naughty and nice, sassy and sweet with both humor and angst and some combustible love scenes then adds an OMG edge of your seat suspenseful thriller. The pace is quick and the dialogue is a perfect mix of her Philly slang and his English proper that will bring laughs, sighs and a few gasps too. This is my first of the O’Brien clan’s tales but it definitely won’t be my last!
NARRATION: 5 Tara Langella’s narration is exceptional and the best way (in the opinion of this reviewer) to enjoy this novel. She can go from male to female and between the bold Philly accents of the O’Brien clan to the smooth seductive Brit speak of Evan seamlessly and with every emotion performed to perfection. But it’s the sassy, smack talking Wren that’s unforgettable and spot on!
Brash, trash talking Philly native Erin (Wren) O’Brien is the only girl in her loud family of six very protective brothers. So when she brings home a new man they’re all ready to run him out of town. She knows he’s something special but with a dark cloud from her past hanging over her she can’t really give him or her what she wants. UK transplant Evan Jonah has only one thing on his mind, to get his floundering tech company solvent. Which means he needs to keep his entire focus on his work. That is until he meets the most intriguing genuine woman with a potty mouth and a heart of gold. Can’t he have both a successful company and a sexy woman too?
My thanks to Caffeinated PR Services for this audio book in exchange for an honest review!
Another fantastic book from the O’Brien series! 4.5 well earned stars!
Erin O’Brien aka Wren is a woman who knows just what she wants. Having grown up in a huge Italian family she’s loud, crass, and downright awesome. Evan is a nerdy businessman who is putting everything he’s got into turning his company into a success. I love the way their story progresses, the attraction is immediate but Evan is shy and asking Wren on a date is a struggle for him at first. The twos biggest challenge is time, they’re never able to spend any together because of Evan’s work schedule. Then Wren gets a stalker who destroys her work prompting her to need a new job at the same time that Evan’s assistant gets the ax. Wren swoops in and saves the day at Evan’s business and the two are able to carve time out together while they’re working together.
I love that we also get to catch up with all the O’Brien boys a bit in this story as well. This book had me in stitches when Evan is cooking breakfast while Wren is in the shower and all her brothers show up and threaten to beat up Evan. This was a super fast pace read with tons of drama and romance. Evan was one of my favorite characters in a long time, he’s nerdy on the surface but a total beast in the bedroom. Can’t wait to see which of the O’Brien’s we get next!
Following the O’Brien’s through it all has been fun, exciting, intriguing, alluring, and more of a pleasure than I could have expected the first time I picked up the series book. I have enjoyed a great deal getting to know about this Irish family that loved hard, protect fiercely and have ties that bound and bond a family beyond the ordinary. This time around we get Wren. She has punch that will set you on your toes. She was not in the past book or know the typical female. That makes her that much more fun to get to see up close.
Wren was not your typical female lead and she was the one sole female in a clan of boisterous males. I found that Evan made a perfect match for her he had his own strength of character. Nerd or alpha. Guess you will need to read to find out which Evan will be or would it be both in different ways.
The characters here are rich and satisfying. There was no insta-love. This was a relationship between two people that had time to grow. Become more with each new encounter. The fact that real life occurred and happened allowed for the characters to feel that much more like a friend you were working to support.
Wren, the only daughter of seven O’Brien siblings is a mouthy car sales person.
Evan is a mild mannered genius nerd from England looking for a more rugged car to cope with the Philly weather. Wren sells him a car but the sparks fly and they become more.
When Wren’s psychotic ex deliberately torches her place of work she comes to act as Evan’s PA and help him save his company.
This has billionaire nerds, psychotic ex-cops, jealous PAs, unscrupulous adversaries, an electronic ever/present ‘assistant’ and endless sex. OMG no wonder the company is circling the drain, Evan spends like 15 hours a day in his office having sex with Wren. Watching themselves in home videos and taking erotic selfies.
This was just ludicrous, unbelievable, ridiculous and OTT.
This was actually quite the enjoyable read. Yes, it is still a story with lots of spice but even that was actually balanced out nicely. I think personally I just like the characters Cecy Robson creates.
The outspoken yet loyal O'Brien clan return in this scorching tale with a bit of suspense thrown in courtesy of a vile ex and a grasping woman. Add in a scorching romance where opposites attract and it all adds up to an engaging read that had me turning the pages furiously.
Wren is the only girl in a family of six brothers who's always prided herself on being strong. She always thought she could defend herself but one night of trusting the wrong person left her full of doubts and shame that have tarnished every chance at happiness since that night. Meeting Evan, the workaholic Brit, has her seeing things in a whole new light and drawn to him despite trying to stay away to save him from the baggage she carries. As her past creeps ever closer, the connection they've forged could be over just as it's begun, leaving both of their lives in jeopardy. Wren's an outspoken woman who's not afraid to tell it like it is. She's full of life and makes friends easily as she bursts in on things unrepentantly. Her connection to Evan is combustible resulting in numerous erotic encounters, but they also had moments of heartfelt talks that solidified their feelings for each other. Wren's ultimately a strong-willed heroine, teeming with a caretaking nature, brought low by a painful event in her past that she eventually rises above with Evan's support. I admired her for her no-nonsense attitude and larger-than-life personality which brought a smile to my face.
Evan's childhood was one lacking in love due to a cold and uncaring mother and a father who died before his time. Sent to boarding school he had no real friends but plenty of time to become a computer genius. His whole life has been about saving his company and becoming a success, which has left him lonely as previous relationships were cold and calculating. Meeting Wren is electrical as she shocks him at every turn with her crass language and outspoken ways. She's full of life which he wants to cling to as his rocky business and his worker's questionable loyalties are wearing on him. He longs to have someone on his side which Wren quickly becomes as they mix business and pleasure. When Wren's past gets thrown in his face though he'll have to decide if he can support her unconditionally or go back to his life of loneliness which has him making a surprisingly bold decision. At the start of the story Evan's a bit buttoned-up, too staid, to seem like a match for Wren but her fun and flirty nature brings out a charming side to him. Being with her brings him to life, in and out of the bedroom, to make them an entertaining couple that scorched the pages. Evan became a delicious hero as the story progressed as his heart opened up and he started making connections. He said all the right things to make him the quintessential book boyfriend and his care and concern for Wren and others endeared him to me.
This was a compelling addition to the series that gave us glimpses of all the family members and their caring yet mocking familial connection. Their banter made me chuckle as well as smile at their unwavering support of one another. Evan and Wren may appear to be opposites but they quickly click in a scorching relationship full of heart and numerous erotic encounters. The danger to Wren, the villain set on making her pay, is obvious from the start but that in no way diminishes how much hate I had for them. The acts that are directed towards her though become increasingly over-the-top, a bit too melodramatic, which diminished the impact of that part of the fast-paced conclusion. Though this is part of the O'Brien family series in stands nicely on its own but readers will want to read it from the start as each member of this family is more delightful than the next. The romantic set-up in this story between attorney Declan and the deaf woman he can't seem to win over is immensely charming and has me excited for the next installment and seeing the talented Ms. Robson craft yet another unforgettable couple.
“Has anyone ever mentioned you have a tendency to exaggerate?” “Never.”
I am not exaggerating when I say you NEED to read this book, and this series. I didn't think I could love the O’Brien’s anymore than I already did, and then along came Crave Me.
You guys, I was enthralled. This book was SO PERFECT, I'm not sure I can even. That's right, this book turned me into a basic white girl, and I DGAF. I'm obsessed. Addicted. Completely and utterly in love.
It's the BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD.
Where to start? Hmm, maybe with Evan… Setting aside the fact he shares his name with my brother (slightly awkward since I CRAVE fictional Evan), he is a model book boyfriend. He's everything. Alpha but sweet. Protective and dominating but not over the top. He respects Wren, he loves her right—just as she is, and everything he does to her and for her left me flushed, swooning and flailing. Which, TBH, is exactly how I like it.
And then there's Wren. We've met her in previous O’Brien Family books, and her no-nonsense, sarcastic, tough girl persona is fucking charming (I added that curse in honor of her, because that's the kind of girl she is), but is well balanced by her vulnerabilities, her inherent kindnesses and thoughtfulness and her capacity to love. I adored her and I hurt for her. I loved her.
Just like I love her crazy family. They're all brotherly love and posturing manliness, and dear Lord, they made me laugh. The first time they meet Evan? Classic. The way they pick at each other? Hilarious. The way they care for, protect and fight for each other? HOLD ME, MY HEART IS GOING TO EXPLODE.
Crave Me is a beautiful book—filled with everything that makes my heart happy. (And also, explode). It is emotional, exciting and replete with deep, true love of both the romantic and familial kind. It made me laugh and it made me cry, and it keep me invested to the very, very end.
Which was as suspenseful and heart-racing as it was perfect. So perfect. And now, gah, it's over, and I still want more. So, I wait. There are still more O’Brien’s in need of a happy ending, and I am not exaggerating when I say I CANNOT FREAKING WAIT.
She wants me to miss her, to crave her touch and her smile. She didn’t have to write it. It’s something I do every time she leaves me.
ARC Review: Crave Me (O'Brien Family) by Cecy Robson
Wren is one tough cookie. She knows her heart, speaks her mind and never turns away from a challenge. To look at her, no one would guess the insecurities that hide beneath her tough as nails exterior. Crave Me guided me through a number of firsts. Not only am I discovering a new author, but Erin and Evan are my introduction to the O'Brien family as well. Wren is the spice. The flavor that grabs hold of the senses and lingers after the last bite. Evan is the main course. He knows how to satisfy the heartiest of appetites in the most subtle of ways. If every O'Brien is as magnetic, I just may have to make a return visit. A grand introduction to a spirited family.
Cecy Robson does it again for me. I was over the moon with this book, as I have been with most of her work. I was really looking forward to this particular book because of our female lead. Wren O'Brien piqued my interest since the beginning of this series. She has six siblings, all of them men, five of them older ... yikes LOL! She turned out to be a force of her own with class! She was in control, put together, driving and quite headstrong at times but she carried it all with grace and beauty. What a great character Cecy created in her. I loved reading her journey from page one! And Evan Jonah was the perfect match for her!
What I loved most about this story is the sweet, swoon worthy romance was never overshadowed by the conflict of the story. It was perfectly balanced. There's also the family element that Cecy writes into her stories that I love. She always throws in a little sprinkle of the rest of the clan just to make sure we don't forget :)
I loved this book! I liked Tess and Cullen a lot, book 1, but Wren is hilarious and our H is sweet and endearing. They are total opposites attract and yet they worked perfectly. I loved both the characters, I try to write reviews for those books when I can because I find it rare for it to happen. I usually side with one character more than the other. The story was good. The supporting characters were good. I especially like the updates and family building of other books in the series. Also, as a Catholic I quite like the references and use of it. It's very believable. Well written, recommend.
