He read every science fiction book in his local library, growing up on a diet of Andre Norton, E. E. 'Doc' Smith, Clifford D. Simak, Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clark and other iconic science fiction authors.
He wrote science fiction stories in school notebooks when he was a boy, but as he grew up he put those away and switched to writing in computer languages instead. He kept reading though, hundreds and hundreds of books, especially science fiction, and never stopped dreaming. One day, he started to write those dreams down.

a solid follow up to the series
Another entertaining tale in the Foothold series! I really enjoyed parts of this book, though there were places I did not like so much. The plot really dragged in the sections where the colony was trying to develop some form of government for their suddenly much larger population after the arrival of the Inspiration. Then the power struggles; it started to seem too much like back here on Earth.
Things definitely picked up as the story progressed and I found myself very interested in what happened next. The story wrapped up pretty well, though I could see a few seeds planted for future installments.

Best of the three
Character development has been great. You will want to stay and learn from these people. As the first two books this is a goo read and decent story. Awaiting the next arc.

This concludes the first arc of the series and it was quite nicely done overall. Some of the dialogue is still a bit rough but otherwise an enjoyable read.

Once again I don't feel this book quite hits the heights of the first in the series. An enjoyable read nevertheless.

Outstanding Book Three
Book Three is a great storyline, with action at every turn. Good triumphs over evil. Can't wait to get into Book Four.

Another great read!
The story unfolded with unexpected twists and turns. I will definitely read Book 4 to see where this story takes us.

Another great add to the series. Also a great stopping point but hope to see more! I feel like (unlike a lot of serial-esque books) this was a great way to really end it. However I can't wait for the next one to come out.
It did feel like two short books but together, but I was happy when the first half ended and we got to what I thought was more exciting.

fantastic read. I couldn't put it down!
other than some minor issues with character arcs (Carla being the worst), I deeply enjoyed this book. I was very disappointed in the second novel and nearly didn't purchase this one. That would have been a shame.
