Cowboys In Her Pocket is book two in the Cowboys Online series by Jan Springer. It’s been some time since I read the first book in this series, Cowboys For Christmas. I don’t know why I waited so long to read the next book because I really enjoyed the first one.
JJ is enjoying her life at the Moose Ranch in Northern Ontario, Canada with her three cowboys, Brady, Rafe and Dan. She made it through her first harsh winter and now its spring time. The grass is green, the weather is warm, and she couldn’t be happier. JJ still struggles with her anxiety and occasional panic attacks but not nearly as frequently.
JJ spends her days cooking and helping out around the ranch. Lately, though, strange things have been happening. Things disappearing, things disturbed in a drawer. She questions herself, maybe she did it herself. But then one of her men is attacked and they realize that the danger is real.
This is a short book but believe me, there is plenty of content. There is plenty of sexy times. How could there not be with three cowboys?! But there is also some suspense and danger as our little family tries to figure out what is going on.
JJ can’t imagine her life anywhere else than with her men but she still longs for a purpose. Something that is lacking in her life. She’s just not exactly sure what it is and how to achieve it with her anxiety. I can’t wait to read the next book, Loving Her Cowboys, to continue on this journey with JJ and her men.
I enjoyed this quick addition to the series. There's a lot of heat, indoors and out, along with unexpected lookie-loos - one with malintent.
I like the continued progression of JJ's relationship with Rafe, Dan, and Brady. I also thought the growth of her friendship with Blue was nice, as well as how she encouraged JJ to face the fears that trigger her anxiety.
The narrator is Teri Clark Linden. I do like her. I've said before that a male counterpart in duet narration would be even better, so I've nothing more to add. 😘
Prooooofondamente delusa da questo seguito, non ha fatto sfoggio nemmeno di mezzo gadget! e comunque io ho un paio di dubbi sulla fattibilità anatomica di alcune scene...
I rarely read a series, especially when the main characters remain the same in every story, but I missed my cowboys so much I had to come back for more. I'm so glad I did! I love these stories, set in the beautiful splendor of northern Ontario on secluded Moose Ranch, the perfect home for heroine JJ, who unjustly spent 10 years in maximum security prison, to work through her PTSD and to make a new life for herself in the company of the north's 3 sweetest, sexiest cowboys. The bond between JJ and her men was so tender in Cowboys For Christmas I couldn't get enough, and that bond is further strengthened in Cowboys in Her Pocket as one of the men is attacked and the group comes together to solve a dangerous mystery that threatens its newfound peace. Old favorite themes resurface as we see more of Brady's grump, Rafe's boldness and Dan's wit, and of course the men's love of JJ's cooking is as alive as ever. A fun, fast read with great sex scenes, a few new characters and a happy ending that would surely warm any woman's heart. My new favorite author and series! I can hardly wait to see what happens at Moose Ranch next!
The story definitely in some ways takes a back seat to the pleasure in this book and whilst highly enjoyable I wanna know more about Blue, see the relationship with the guys grow and yet highly enjoyable with the unexpected twist from the stalker that really shows the depravity of some minds.
I have read the first three books and I have the same problems with all of them so the reviews will be the same. First of all, why is this called Cowboys Online? Yes, that is how she ended up at the ranch but that is it. There is no other mention of it other than saying his sister runs it. I went into this thinking it would be different people each book. You know, a different person that got a chance from Cowboys Online. There is too much telling and not enough showing. The only thing that is actually shown is the sex scenes and there is way too many of them. They always think how much they love each other but it is never said. You don't even know why they are in love, other than sex. The author says they talked for hours but we don't know what they talked about. The only thing we get to hear is the ranch talk. That isn't exactly love inducing conversation. It's not like they can go on dates or anything. It just seems like they only want her for sex. No romance. We are told that the guys know a little about her from the prison but they never talk about it. They never asked why she was so claustrophobic before going to prison. They didn't discuss what she went through even a little bit. If I loved someone I would want to know. At least so I could know what to look out for. Her going to prison for that long was pretty unbelievable. No jury would have convicted her no matter how shotty the defense attorney was. I was hoping her record could have been expunged and she sued the crap out of them. She definitely deserved it. But of course that didn't happen. After all that she has gone through it seems she doesn't have all that many problems. She has no problems being tied up for eight hours which is insane. She never freaks out when the guys hold her down. It seems she only has a problem to create a little convenient drama. She went from not liking to cook and clean, not even knowing how, to being Susie Homemaker. She just loved it so much and was sooooo amazing at it. *Yeah, right!* She seemed like such a strong hard woman when we first met her but that only lasted a couple of hours after being at the ranch. The sex....was mainly clinical sounding. Or at least very choppy. All of the books had a pretty choppy writing style but I found it more pronounced here. They said it was making love and they could just feel the love but I couldn't. I actually felt really sorry for her. After all the times the guys have just slammed into her she shouldn't have been able to move. It happens multiple times with each guy everyday. That is too much for any woman. Even one that hasn't had sex in ten years. Again she felt more like their toy. It was so repetitive. None of the guys had their own style. Change out any of the names in the scenes and it would make no difference.
The guys didn't really seem to care how she was feeling. They brushed her off multiple times. If it wasn't to their liking it didn't seem to matter. Too much of them bossing her around. I felt absolutely no connection with the guys because we don't get to know them further than sex. Overall I was left disappointed. Each book I would hope my problems would be addressed but they never were. But hey, I read them so that counts for something.
Race and Brady are gone for a few days dealing with cattle business. So Dan & JJ have a couple of says together. But one frisky afternoon she and Dan have out in the field. But she sees something flash. They go back and find nothing. But then Dan s gone for the day and JJ is alone and heard something in the house and storm comes along. Dan doesn't make it back. But Brady & Rafe know something is wrong after a phone call home. She loves her cowboys can they protect her.
Cowboy's In Her Pocket was another great read by Jan Springer. JJ is on a remote Canadian cattle ranch as a housekeeper to three cowboys. She was recently released from ten years in maximum-security prison. She has started a relationship with all three cowboy's. Unfortunately mysterious things start happening on the ranch and one of the men is attacked and injured. This was another good read by Jan Springer. I can't wait to read more by the author.
So I read the first book and thought I'd read more. Yes the story around JJ and the three cowboys Brady, Rafe and Dan continues but there is no build up in book 1 or this book that JJ has a step-brother so when he appears out the blue it is a bit of a shock and then that while situation ends abruptly and JJ is back romping with her cowboys.
Now I have started the series I will finish it but this series has potential which has not been fulfilled
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
JJ is having the time of her life with her three cowboys and her stupid step brother tried to ruin her happiness just because he is a spiteful bully just like his father. I guess he underestimated how much she means to her hunky cowboys. He got what he deserved and now his wife and children are also safe from him
I enjoyed listening to the continuing story of JJ & her men. We encounter a new character with mischief up his sleeve. In such a remote area it is surprising and a bit scary. Most of the story is very realistic.
Teri Clark Linden continues to do a wonderful job bringing the story to life.
Loving this series!! JJ, lucky lady that she is, has three hot cowboys to love her. This book contains some suspense and thrills in addition to lots of hot sex!!
I loved the characters in the book all over again. I felt sad for Dan being ill in the beginning of the book. Great love stories again. I love reading 📚 Jan's books.
I didn’t like this book as much as the first one. It was very repetitive, the word three is mentioned 80 times, it drove me crazy 😜 Can’t do another, this story was definitely not working for me.
