James Wallace
148 books21 followersJames I. Wallace, Ph.D., has spent his career practicing as a clinical psychologist, educational psychologist, and sport psychologist. He has practiced golf a lot, too, with little success. He has earned his knowledge of aikido by serving as the chief instructor (Sensei) of two dojos in Southern California and one in Ithaca, NY, before running the Colgate University Aikido Club in Hamilton, NY, the past quarter of a century. He lives there with his wife, Colgate University Professor Ann Jane Tierney, and he teaches P.E. courses in wellness, as well. They have two young adult daughters, Jasmine and Gemma, striving to live well in Virginia and Colorado, respectively.
In addition to his more recent book, Holy Rollers, Dr. Wallace is the author of a nonfiction book about the physical and mental aspects of athletics, [Book:On Target: Comparative Challenges of Sports & Games|31917960], along with several magazine articles about aikido.

There are many of the usual good vs. evil books out there, this is not one of them. What a wild ride of battles, blood, death and at times humour. Taunya being the first born of her lineage has become the vessel for Jinxx, Mankind's Greatest Champion. They battle the forces of evil, namely demons together when not butting heads about who should do what and when.
As the demons become more plentiful and dangerous Taunya's family comes to her and Jinxx's aid for the battle of all battles.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves an action packed thrill ride of mankind's protectors battling the big bad.

The story of evil vs good has been around since the beginning of time. Wars have been waged between these two and continue today. From a long time ago a warrior has come forth to help win the current battle raging in a city that has been protected by one family for eons in order to keep the balance of good and bad. When the war begins on their home turf, the amazing team of Taunya and Jinxx unleash their own fury and an epic battle ensues!
James Wallace, the talented author of the Zombie Theorum series has proven that an author with a creative and vivid imagination, can write in more than one genre and succeed at it. Something I have found not every author is able to do. Jinxx is a fantastic story that I became deeply engrossed in from the first few pages and couldn’t put down until that last page was turned. Filled with action, emotion, family loyalty, and love, you can’t help but cheer for the good guys as the fight begins and yes, we lose some of the A team which you feel emotionally from the author who put so many feelings into the scenes. I truly enjoyed this story and feel anyone who loves a well written, entertaining book will also like it. This is definitely an amazing story and I can’t wait to see where the next story takes us to in this continuing series!

I had previously read books by the author in the zombie genre, but I wasn't sure what to expect from this one. I am happy to say that I enjoyed this book a lot, even though the genre is one I rarely read. It is well-written, with great character development and world building, all wrapped up in a great story.
Taunya is a vessel for Mankind's Champion, Jinxx, but she is reluctant to give over control to her "other half". But, when the battle against evil heats up and she is forced to fight demons like she has never seen before, she has to give in.
This book reminded me of other superhero stories, but it was never boring. Full of great characters, awesome battle scenes, a bit of romance, and just enough humor, it is a quick read and wildly entertaining. I also liked the nerdy touches brought by Taunya's brother, Skylar, with his great inventions. The book ends on a bit of cliffhanger and I look forward to more adventures with Jinxx and friends.

Overwhelmingly surprised
After reading the book blurb, I wasn't sure if I would like this book, but I am very glad I gave it a try. Mr. Wallace has a wonderful gift that enables him to tell a great story with his writing. This book was full of action from the very beginning to the end. It had characters that were easy to love and hate. It was fun to read and very well written. Give yourself a good time by buying and reading this story.

I love this book and was thrilled to learn that the next one is already completed. I enjoy this unique take on characters which throws out most traditional stereotypes of heroes and make you take the time to get to understand the character better. I look forward to many great things from Mr Wallace

An interesting and unusual tale, unlike others written by James Wallace. As with all of his stories, it is well written and a great read. The main character, a unique female, is thrown into a battle against an evilness she was unaware existed. I enjoyed this book.

It took me a while to get into the book, it is very different from other books I have read by James Wallace. But the book is very interesting and entertaining! I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys strong female characters fighting evil!

LOVED this book!! The story was so captivating, and going on this wild journey with Jinxx and Taunya had me rooting so hard for the characters. If you're looking for a YA fantasy with LGBTQ+ and disability rep that will pull you in and keep you at the edge of your seat, please give this a read!

An action packed story that will keep you entertained. I listened to Jinxx on a road trip with my husband. With Jinxx playing the whole way the trip seemed to fly by. Although the narrator could have put a little more emotion into her reading, the story was excellent. It had great character interaction and was action packed. If your looking for a book to listen to on your next road trip, or just around the house, I would highly recommend this one.
