Cora Reynolds and her baby were abandoned by her ex and are evicted and made homeless for Christmas. There is no one to turn to and salvation is thousands of miles away. An oncoming snowstorm threatens the life of her child and she can’t afford to tough it out.
She must act now.
Cora has always done everything by the book but desperation has changed her reality and she will do anything to protect her baby. Even if that means breaking the law.
Joseph Stone, security guard and bear shifter, believes he is happy with his solitary life. He likes the simplicity of his routine, enjoys the safety that it provides him.
Ask anyone: he doesn’t need or want change.
But one snowy night an intruder upsets the balance of his world. He’s used to dealing with shoplifters, but this break-in is far from the norm.
Now with a crying baby in his arms, Joseph is left considering something he’s never entertained before. Fatherhood!
Father Shiftmas is a short paranormal holiday romance with a HEA and no cliffhangers.
I liked this but I'm bummed that nothing in the blurb stated that it was in a "multi author set" so I got this for nothing. I did like the story the first time I read it though
Right before Christmas, Cora’s landlord kicked her out and threw her clothes all over the ground. The rent was due and she had no money to pay it; there were no jobs to be had in the small town; now she and her baby had nowhere else to go. She was desperate to keep her baby daughter safe, especially with snow on its way at any moment. She pawned the last of her possessions, an old watch her Dad had given her before he died. At least it would allow her to pay for the bus out of town.
Joseph was a security guard. His friends wanted him to meet a nice woman and settle down, but he was satisfied with his life the way it was. His co-worker, Lonnie, told him a warehouse door had a defective latch and it was scheduled to be fixed the next morning. Sitting in the security shack watching the monitors, Joe noticed a flickering in the shadows inside the store. And he heard the sound of a baby crying! What would happen to Cora and her baby now? Would she be arrested and Ava taken away from her?
This was an adorable Christmas story. The characters were very likeable. Cora was doing everything she could for her baby, but there was no one to help her. Joe was a kind, loving person who led a quiet, lonely life. The author did a wonderful job of telling the story so that the reader cared about these people. Even the secondary characters let us see wonderful, caring people. I definitely recommend this book. It was a wonderful read and well written. I was given a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it. My comments reflect my honest opinion.

Even though this is only 8 chapters you get to know both main characters well and their back stories. A nice mix of shifter and romance. Personally I would have liked another chapter or two showing how they settled more into their relationship, but in saying that I enjoyed what I read.
Joseph a Bear Shifter, was shopping for his dinner. Joseph the the night security guard for market, he was shopping for his dinner. Cora a human and single mother of Ava, her baby girl. Cora and Ava has been evicted from there home three days before Christmas. Joseph, Cora and Ava, we're Fated to be a family!
Cliché puro. Instant love, personajes sobrenaturales, mujer desamparada. Demasiado aburrido.
Hunter has disappeared, leaving Cora and her 4-month old baby, Ava, at the mercy of Mr. Buckley; he is throwing her out 3-days before Christmas. Cora has a plan; against her better judgment, she pawns her father’s watch and heads out to a store a few towns over, intending to seek shelter for the night, before travelling on the next day. Joseph, a bear shifter, works as a security guard on nightshift; content, he didn’t need any crazy excitement in his life, but now there is an intruder in the store. Joseph is ready for action, but the last thing he expects to hear is the sound of a crying baby. Cora wonders if she imagines the bizarre pull she feels when she sees Joseph standing there with Ava in his arms; like he would do anything to protect her. It is the most unconventional of meetings, but Cora senses there is something alluring about Joseph; Hunter has never made her feel this way. Meanwhile, Hunter escapes the local sheriff, heads into the store, and comes face-to-face with Cora. There is a heated argument and a situation to be remedied, but it doesn’t go the way everyone expects it to! An excellent shifter story that was a pleasure to read. Title: Father Shiftmas Author: Edith Hawkes Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Genre: #PRN My Score: #5Stars☆☆☆☆☆ ♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡•°•♡ Omg this is so heart rendering, I had tears in my eyes many times. For a short story Ms. Edith blew me out of the water. This lady characters match perfectly and as she thickened her plot in this book, I was on the edge of a cliff expecting to fall. Wow this lady can write. Cora was holding Ava her baby outside in the cold just begging the landlord PLEASE DON'T IT'S CHRISTMAS. Hunter that jerk left without a word knowing rent was due weeks ago. In a little town there were no jobs and Christmas is here so all the teenagers got the holiday jobs and she has no money, no job, not even a roof over their heads now. It's snowing she's in deep trouble. Joseph is a Bear Shifter who enrolled in a program that got him a job, to establish himself in a different community plus it's possible to find his mate. Working nights as a security guard was good for him he liked it. Nothing ever happens teens stealing that it. Then on the monitor he see a faint light. Going to the grocery store to check it out he walks in and there's a smell what's up its a fantastic smell what is it. Then a baby cries what's going on. Shifters with a heart!!!!! That's what I found in this story. Our security guard bear shifter Joseph find homeless mother Cora and her baby Ava while working at the security job he has. I loved it from start to finish.
This was a cute, short, bear shifter Christmas story. I would liked to have seen a little more in depth story about Cora and Joseph's adventure instead of just the grocery store scene. But it was a good story.
Loved this story. Absolutely perfect for the holiday season. A warm story that has a little sexual content and a bit of violence, but a whole lot of heart and holiday spirit!
