Great Ending!
Loved it. I had waited a long time for this book. It felt like forever. Ellie and Alex will be a story I never forget. I felt a little let down at one point but I realized that the story was about Ellie finding something she so desperately deserved. I loved the epilogue. I must have Lukes story now.

After falling in love with both Alex and Ellie in Stalemate...I couldn't wait for Checkmate.
This book was even better than the first and that is saying something. Rose sawyers writing had me under a spell, I couldn't put this book down and read it in 1 sitting.
I was on the edge all the way through, just when I thought I knew what was coming I was thrown in a spin.
This book CAN NOT be read as a standalone!!!!
We all know this couple had an electrifying connection and were great together from the first book but their relationship was based on lies and deceit.
Ellie had fallen hard but has to protect Alex, they were never supposed to be forever. She was out for revenge and he was a way in...Now he has her heart but she cant stay.
Alex is head strong and he refuses to give Ellie up without a fight. He is the only woman who has ever captured his interest and heart. She is the perfect 10.
When truths and secrets are revealed they both have hard decisions to make but will the be the right ones and for the right reasons???
Were this couple doomed from the very start?
This is a sexy, fun suspense filled read and I would recommend it to everyone

What a conclusion to this series! It was mind blowing as secrets and truths are revealed. It causes Ellie to run to protect Alex and Alex to never give up on her.
This was certainly an edge of your seat and a nail biting read but it is an absolute must have read 'Stalemate' first. Ellie's response is to protect Alex by being apart from him but Alex refuses to give up in spite of everything that he discovers about Ellie and her past.
I found myself completely pulled in and immersed in this story of intrigue, romance and suspense. I shouldn't like Ellie because of what she does but her strength, courage, independence and determination won me over. Plus we get to see her softer side of her with Alex.

If you're a fan of Rose Sawyer's first book in this series, Stalemate, this is one of the most anticipated releases to ever grace your "to be read" list. Never, has any other author evoked such emotions- laughter, swooning, and definite tears reading this series. The conclusion of Ellie and Alex is just simply a beautiful, sexy story. Alex, who must deal personally with what "threat removal" actually means in Ellie's job description, is everyone's number one book boyfriend- from the very first time we meet him in Stalemate. Ellie- a gorgeous, heavily trained murderous "assassin" who developed feelings in the first book for Alex King- is left to battle with her fight of revenge and the love she feels for Alex. This series is an ABSOLUTE must read.
