I first ran across Lapham's Quarterly this past Christmas in a Barnes And Noble. The topic "Home" caught my attention and when I turned the first page I was hooked. Being a History major, one of my favorite assignments was finding first person accounts of events in history. What was the point of view of the person living through the actual event that I was studying? Here in one place was a whole collection of first person accounts or "Voices in Time" gathered around one subject. From Saint Benedict to Mark Twain to Alice Munro people across history tell us their thoughts on Home.
