Single mom Jenny Castelli has a temper to match her red hair. When the former mean girls of her high school insult her son, Jenny fires off a big lie—that she's engaged to a rich, handsome guy and is bringing him to their ten-year reunion. Now she needs to find the perfect fake fiancé for one night. And only one man fits the bill.
Geek turned tech entrepreneur Owen Dalton already had his heart broken by Jenny Castelli. Still, he finds himself agreeing to her proposition—even as he struggles to remember that the chemistry sparking between them isn't real. But when Jenny's ex makes a play for custody and Owen is forced to deal with the family who always treated him as "second best," their arrangement suddenly becomes very personal. And that lie they've been telling everyone? It isn't nearly as big as the one they've been telling themselves.
USA Today and Top 5 Amazon Bestselling author Michelle Major writes swoon-worthy stories full of heart, heat, and guaranteed happily-ever-afters. When she’s not dreaming up romance, you’ll find her hiking the trails (or avoiding housework) in her home state of Colorado.
Meant for You was an amazing second chance at love romance with characters I couldn't help but fall in love with!
Jenny Castelli has a habit of letting her temper get the better of her and because of it, she lies and says she's engaged to a rich man when her former classmates insult her son. Now, Jenny needs to find someone to play her fake fiancé for the night and the only person Jenny can think of to turn to is Owen Dalton, whose heart she broke two years ago. Despite their history, Owen agrees to her proposition and soon the situation gets out of control and they're left trying to determine what's real and what is simply part of the lie.
Jenny is quite impulsive and quick to go on the defensive which causes her to lash out at nearly everyone. Also, due to her childhood, she has a lot of insecurities and doesn't believe she's deserving of love or that she would know what to do with it. She does however, have an amazing relationship with her son and is a wonderful mother. Over the course of the book, she grows to be more accepting and has more confidence in herself and her abilities.
Owen is used to being the odd man out in life, having never fit in with his family. Despite the strained relationship with his family, he spends a large part of his time trying to make them proud. With his friends and those he cares about, he's a very kind person and goes to great lengths to help others in need. I also really enjoyed his relationship with Jenny's son, Cooper. Owen understands what it's like to be different as a kid and he has some great interactions with Cooper because of it.
Jenny and Owen have a great relationship despite the past history they share. They're genuinely there for one another and willing to help each other when one of them needs it. There was also a great deal of chemistry and their physical attraction was intense. I loved watching them navigate the fake relationship and having it turn into something real when they were least expecting it.
The characters are definitely the best part of this book. The author manages to get you to care about what happens to everyone very quickly. She even managed to make me care about someone who started off as a horrible person! I loved all of the interactions with the other three couples in this group of friends (who I'm guessing are the characters from the prior three books). The friendship between all of them is so genuine and I loved how supportive they are for each other. Scenes where all of the characters got together were definitely some of my favorites.
Overall, Meant for You was a very enjoyable read and I will definitely be checking out the three previous books in the series.
** I received a copy from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.**
This was quite the little firecracker of a book. I loved how the whole fake fiance came about. It showed exactly how spirited Jenny could be LOL And I also loved how Owen stepped outside his comfort zone to make it happen. It showed how truly meant to be these two kids were :)
Jenny and Owen have history. History that isn't very favorable. They also have similar social tendencies, meaning they were both looking from the outside in as they grew-up, just in different ways...Jenny lacked the money to be a cool kid and Owen lacked the balls, for lack of a better term lol But that was then and this is now and someone got Jenny aaaaaall riled up so she turns to Owen to help her save face. Cue the journey to HEA :)
I've never read a Michelle Major book and I kinda feel like I've been missing out. The story was easy (except maybe Jenny was a little too much. She got in her way a lot lol). It sucks you in and you get invested. Owen was an adorable character that stole the show on more than one occasion. Overall, very enjoyable second chance romance you can read in one afternoon :)
Jenny was a gullible teenager and because she was so easy to manipulate she fell pregnant. She's now a proud single mother of a great twelve-year-old. Cooper's father, however, has never been part of his life. Jenny grew up without a father herself and this made her insecure and vulnerable. Plants are Jenny's passion and she owns a nursery. Everything she earns is going towards her son and a brilliant care home for her mother. Her mother used to work for a rich family and therefore Jenny had the chance to go to a good school, but her classmates made sure she never felt she belonged. That's why when she's being goaded by one of them about a reunion she tells her that she has a fiancé, Owen, who is a billionaire with plenty of money and status. How will she convince Owen to go with her after breaking his heart several years ago?
Owen's family never appreciated him and the two women he loved left him. He is rich, drives a fast car and has a gorgeous place to live, but he doesn't have anyone to share it with. Jenny was the love of his life and when she asks Owen to play her fiancé he doesn't think it's a good idea, but he can't refuse her anything. He even buys her a ring and accompanies her to the reunion, but there's something Jenny has to do for him in return. He wants her to pretend to be his fiancée as well, for an entire week when he visits his family. Will they be able to keep their deal strictly business or are there so many feelings between them they forget their engagement isn't real?
Jenny always says what she thinks, she swears all the time and she's completely herself in every situation. I liked her immediately. She has a heart of gold and she's a wonderful mother. Owen is rich, but Jenny doesn't care much about money. She needs it to pay the bills, but she's happy when she's among her plants and doesn't need to have a fancy lifestyle. She likes Owen because of who he is, not because of what he's achieved and how much money he has, which is something I loved about Meant for You. Owen is a kind, caring and gentle man. He's a sexy nerd and always has the feeling he isn't good enough because he isn't athletic. This made me feel sad for him, because he's such an amazing person. He's sweet, generous and chivalrous and he doesn't get the appreciation he deserves. It's clear from the start that Owen and Jenny are soul mates, but Jenny is afraid he'll hurt her. I kept hoping she'd let him in and give him a chance. They have fantastic chemistry and there's a beautiful deep connection between them.
Michelle Major's writing has an easy flow and she has a great sense of humor. Jenny is funny, she usually speaks before she thinks and that lands her in the most complicated situations. She's bold and endearing at the same time and that combination of character traits managed to continuously put a big smile on my face. Owen is so adorable that he kept melting my heart. They're such fantastic main characters that I fell in love with their story from the beginning. Meant for You is a charming, cute and spellbinding romantic story and I highly recommend it.
I have been a fan of Owen and Jenny since the beginning. My heart broke for Owen when Jenny sabotaged things. Now, in Meant for You by Michelle Major, they finally get a chance to find their own HEA, while working through their own demons. One knew that theirs was not going to be an easy road; the things that are worth it usually aren’t easy. Their courtship is like much of their relationship, Jenny is prickly and Owen is wary. Family dynamics certainly add an extra layer of conflict as both are still dealing with childhood hurts. It takes them far too long to figure out that they are better together, but Major makes it worth the wait. Sadly this is the last of the four friends. I can only hope Major has found a way to keep this series going.
This story was ok as a standalone. As part of the series, it has some issues which I found very distracting. First the bad: 1. In book one, Jenny has gray eyes. In book 4, her eyes are caramel-colored. 2. There is a timeline discrepancy. In book 1 Ty says that Jenny was barely 18 when she had Cooper. In book 4, Jenny is attending her 10 year high school reunion (making her 28-29) but Cooper is 12 years old. 3. In book 1, Ty says that Jenny's father had been his family's gardener/landscaper, taught him everything he knows, and that he worked for him many summers. In book 4, Jenny has never known the father that abandoned her as a baby and she has some serious daddy issues. This was repeated so many times throughout the book, it began to feel like filler words to make a word count. I personally felt like this part of the plot was unnecessary as Jenny could have had enough issues just from her teen pregnancy. 4. Ben's nephew is named Zach in book 2 and Austin in Book 4 (and book 3). Ben's niece is named Abby in book 2, Claire in book 3, and Abby in book 4.
The Good: I felt like the way Jenny's emotions relating to her mother's advancing Alzheimer's was handled was very good. Having experienced that particular progression personally, I felt like Jenny's feelings were very authentic. I liked Cooper and how he seemed wise beyond his years though still acted like the kid he was. I liked Owen and how his character struggled with developing himself into who he wanted others to perceive him to be without losing his sense of self.
Overall, I felt like there were too many things going on in this book and none of them developed particularly well. It felt rushed, redundant, and underdeveloped. I believe it had potential to be a great story. If it had half the plot devices and better development I would have really liked it.
The lack of continuity in the series was jarring. This series was my first time reading this author. I felt the writing was good, the ideas were strong, and the settings were described beautifully. Unfortunately, I think that the author could use an editor who looks at the whole series when editing in order to avoid issues like those mentioned above. 2.5 stars
MY RATING: 3/5 STARS I received a copy from Thomas Allen & Sons in exchange for a honest review.
Meant for You is the forth book in the Colorado Hearts series and having read the first one, Kissing Mr. Right, I have to be honest and let you guys know I didn't finish it. I couldn't bring myself to care about this story because the way it was written was very bland or boring or just so structural that I lost interest in our characters. And my god, did I want to enjoy this story but I couldn't push myself to finish.
Meant for You follows the story of our spicy hot heroine, Jenny Castelli, who is a single mom who made a very poor mistake when back when she was just Jenny and not a mom. Well, Jenny's a firecracker and when she heard the mean moms making a side comment about her child not having a father, she tells everyone that she's very much in love and possibly engaged to a millionaire tech mogul. Enter her saving grace and also her ex and possibly the one person that she might have fallen head over heels for, our hero, Owen Dalton. Owen used to be this geeky man who looked like the stereotypical tech nerd but now after years and heartbreak caused by Jenny, he changed into this sophisticated sexy man who rock Jenny to the core. It was fun to watch Jenny being all flustered in front of Owen now instead of the other way around. I also must admit, I was extremely attracted to Owen. I just have a thing for nerds.
But even with a hot nerdy man and a firecracker heroine, I couldn't get myself to finish the story. I'm sure it's just me and my personal problems with the lackluster writing style and the story was actually really touching, emotional, romantic etc. For now, I must DNF and maybe in the future when I'm in a better head space, I might go back and like it.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
As a mom, you will do anything to protect your kids and Jenni is no exception. Twelve years ago, her world was turned upside down with an unexpected pregnancy, the rich boyfriend who turned out to be a douchebag and once again all the "mean girls" at her fancy private school looking down on her as if she were the trash that needed to be taken out. Now the mean girls are back and have goaded her into attending her high school reunion with her current fiance, the one and only Owen Dalton. You know, the nice guy that she just happened to run off because he was "just that into her"? Oh, did I forget to say he was rich, too?
Owen hasn't forgotten Jenni or what she did to him almost two years ago. He misses the friendship he had with her and hasn't quite gotten over the feeling that he wasn't enough for her. One more person in his life that he wasn't quite enough for. His parents tended to think he wasn't athletic enough, his former fiancee' probably thought he wasn't sexy enough and it was obvious that his brother thought he wasn't enough of anything since he was the one who stole his former fiancee' away from him.
Today is different. Jenni needs a favor and so does he. Owen will pretend to be her fiance at her high school reunion and Jenni will return the favor at his brother's wedding. The sticking point? What will Jenni's twelve year old son think? Turns out that Cooper is the man with the plan.
"Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review" I really liked this story about a man who feels ostracized by his family, despite his professional success, and the impulsive single mother he’s in love with. I thought it was an original perspective because in the end neither the hero’s assumptions nor the heroine’s about each own family were completely right, but those assumptions shaped who they are. I enjoyed watching how the hero begins to see his family dynamics in a new light with the heroine’s input. The hero is yummy, slightly damaged, caring and kind. The heroine is full-mouthed, and, when scared, tends to sabotage the good things happening to her. Her son is a great character, and there are a bunch of other good secondary characters. Good writing, good characterization and setting, a lovely story! I'm grateful to the publisher, Montlake Romance, and NetGalley for providing a free copy.
Michelle Major is one of my favorite authors. A big reason why is because she exposes love from all sides. She shows warts and all. That makes for stories that are at times heartbreaking but rewarding. Meant For You cast a spell on me. It's hard to be vulnerable when it can lead to open wounds, hurt feelings and insecurities. Jenny is a warrior when it comes to protecting her son and her pride, but this mama lion has scars embedded into her heart so deeply, that her biggest strengths have also become her worse weaknesses. Case in point, a lie of convenience snowballs into more than she bargained when she has to put up or shut up. Will the solution turn into an answer to a prayer or the beginning of an even bigger nightmare? I lost my heart to Owen. He was a man with his own share of painful insecurities but his heart was a thing of beauty. Identifiable characters and memory defining moments made for a poignant read.
I absolutely loved the premise of this book and the author's voice. I simply couldn't put it down. I love stories where people are suddenly forced to be together but find they are strongly attracted to each other.. The main characters were interesting, not cliche in any way and their love story was believable and sweet. The secondary characters were all fantastic. This author was great to discover! Thanks for letting me read the book.

Meant for you by Michelle Major. This is colarado heart book 4. A very good read with some good characters. I liked the story. I liked the cover too. 4*.
I really enjoyed it, loved it even, Jenny and Owen had chemistry and the fake relationship plot is one of my favorite trope. I loved Cooper and his mercenary ways. I like their friends and that Jenny had real life problems and that Owen wasn't an alpha jerk with a black card here to save her. I liked that they both had their own insecurities to overcome.
I'm not sure I really believe how they did though. And I hated the last hurdle before the HEA...
When you have flaming red hair can you expect her to have anything other than a red-hot temper? Especially, when it comes to someone talking bad about her son, Cooper. Not to mention when it is coming from the meanest of girls from high school the cheerleaders. Not any cheerleaders but the ones that adored the man that was the football star of their high school and the father of her son, Trent. Who from the minute she told him he would be a dad was totally against it. He a has been a deadbeat ever since. Now ten years later and it’s Jenny Castelli’s high school reunion of ten years. She hadn’t planned on going to. You see she was not ever really welcomed at her school. Her mother was the cook/nanny for a wealthy family and the family thought highly of her mother Mona and said that they would send Jenny to the school their children went to. Of their three children, Ty was the only one that ever-accepted Jenny and they became best friend which stuck to this day. Although he was five years older than she was he never made her feel less than. When Ty married his wife accepted her and Jenny inherited her friends also which she loves so much, because no matter, the fact that they all come from money that has never treated her differently for not having any. They have always encouraged her. They all know that if she was Ty’s friend she was their friend and same for her for them. Through these friendships she meets Owen Dalton a billionaire that she is put on his landscape project by Ty. She felt not happy about being put in charge of it because she rather put her hands in the dirt rather than dealing with people because she is not known for her tact. But once she got talking about the project with Owen she and he became more comfort about the project. What amazed him is that it was like she had been inside his head because her presentation was what he had wanted. She was rough around the edges but he always knew what was on her mind and he never had to worry if he was getting anywhere with her or not. When they started dating all was going well and they made a great trio with Cooper too. Owen loved her little man. But the two men before Owen that had Jenny’s heart had broken it badly so with things going so well it was scaring her. So, rather than talking it over with Owen or with her friends she decided to do something…sabotage the relationship. It was bad enough that it has been two years of kind hellos and circling one another when at the same parties. It had been harder on both of them, than either of them allowed, them let on. Because there were still, feelings that they both had, she wanted to run from her he was too mad to want to admit it. So, on this day she was on her way to lunch with her friends when she runs into her friends and the mean girls corner her. Letting her know that her son’s father would be attending her son and that somehow referring to him as the mistake. Getting her dander up. But when they mention that he needed a father figure she said he had one and that he was way better suited for Cooper in all ways. She let them jump to the conclusion that it was once again Owen. So, right before her eyes she sees them on their phones. To which they announce that they were lagging in bodies for the reunion but they know that with her and her date now going that they would be sure to get a better attendance. She then went pale. Asking if she named names. They said no of course not but that they did name is business. Now she was sunk she could either tell them the truth or save face. So, she did what she had to do she when to Owen asking him for help. Oh boy, it was not pretty but oh so funny. They both had conditions and then Owen had his own condition that Jenny had to agree with. Life had just become interesting. What a fun book to read. The potty mouth of Jenny could not be saved by her son, Cooper even with his cures jar. The friendships were a joy and the love of her mother was an amazing thing even with her illness. I give this: 4 stars. Provided by netgalley.com.

Single mom Jenny Castelli has a temper to match her red hair. When the former mean girls of her high school insult her son, Jenny fires off a big lie—that she’s engaged to a rich, handsome guy and is bringing him to their ten-year reunion. Now she needs to find the perfect fake fiancé for one night. And only one man fits the bill.
Geek turned tech entrepreneur Owen Dalton already had his heart broken by Jenny Castelli. Still, he finds himself agreeing to her proposition—even as he struggles to remember that the chemistry sparking between them isn’t real. But when Jenny’s ex makes a play for custody and Owen is forced to deal with the family who always treated him as “second best,” their arrangement suddenly becomes very personal. And that lie they’ve been telling everyone? It isn’t nearly as big as the one they’ve been telling themselves.
My Thoughts
Growing up Jenny Castelli was often the target of ridicule as she did not have wealthy parents like many of the girls her age.
Owen Dalton always felt out of sync with his peers as well as his own family, a true geek at heart he did not play sports in school nor did he desire to be part of the popular crowd. At first he is wary of Jenny’s plan but upon further thought the benefits to both far outweighs any negatives.
Jenny finds herself in need of a fake fiancé to escort her on the night of the 10th reunion of her High School graduation. She had no intention of going until cornered by one of her former bullies, then for some reason the lies just started pouring out and Jenny found herself caught in a web of deceit.
What started out as a way for Jenny and Owen to provide each other support soon becomes so much more complicated, in the best way possible, than either ever dreamed about over the years.
What can I say but love second chance romances, especially the ones where the couple fight their feelings tooth and nail before finally realizing they are meant to be together.
[EArc from Netgalley in exchange for honest review]
There’s a lot to like in this second chance romance with a bit of fake fiancé(e) thrown in for good measure. Mostly Owen, because he’s all kinds of sexy and special, but I also really liked Jenny’s son, Cooper, and the fierce way she loves him is wonderful.
I liked Jenny. She’s been through a lot, but she’s strong and fierce and determined, and when she loves someone she doesn’t hold anything back. So it was understandable that falling for a man was so terrifying for her. That didn’t stop me wanting to scream with frustration at the way she self-sabotages at times. I loved the way she defended Owen when he really needed it, which of course made me all the more annoyed when she hurts him. She’s a mess, and I’m not wholly convinced by how certain things were resolved.
I loved Owen. He’s smart and adorable and his family are horrible. He’s trying so hard to be the tough guy, but he’s just a marshmallow inside, and a wonderful one at that. He’s also super forgiving – which is lucky, else this book might have ended in a very different way.
Cooper was also a great character, smart and crafty, he brought some much needed lightness to Jenny at times, while her mother’s Alzheimer’s provided real emotional turmoil.
In all, I enjoyed this. It has it’s lighter moments and it’s sadder ones, but also heat and romance and plenty of family woes. Throw in a set of likeable characters and I couldn’t ask for much more – although less foolishness from Jenny might have been nice. Overall it was a good second chance read. On the strength of this one, I’ll definitely be looking out for more from this author in the future.
Meant for You, the story of Jenny and Owen, is one that had me immediately buying the others in the series. I fell in love with Jenny, a single mom who was struggling to make a go of her life's dream of owning a small nursery and raising her son Cooper, who was now a tween. What I loved about Jenny was her ability to speak without a filter. She just said what she was thinking in the moment, whether it got her in trouble or not. It mostly got her in trouble. In this case, she blurted out that she was engaged to Owen, whom she once briefly dated before breaking his heart, and who now just happens to be a billionaire.
Owen was never quite the guy his father wanted him to be although it wasn't for his lack of trying. When Jenny comes in, on the verge of begging him to pretend to marry her for a night, he agrees. He later sees his opportunity for her to repay him. He needs a date to his sister's wedding on the East Coast and what better way to prove to his family (mostly his father) that he's succeeded than to show up with a beautiful fiancee on his arm? Let the games begin...
Meant for You is a great story of two people who actually belong together but are too stubborn to see it. They fight it until they realize they could have it all if they just gave in to their feelings. It's a great read if you like humor and romance mixed together with a little fun!
This book was given to me by NetGalley for my honest review.
Quick Info Standalone/Cliffhanger?: Standalone Part of a Series?: Yes ---------------------------------- Meeting the Characters Jenny Owen ---------------------------------- What happens? Jenny needs a fake fiancee for her school reunion. Everyone assumes she is marrying Owen who she was last dating until she sabotaged that relationship. Unable to think of a way out she begs Owen to help her out. Owen is reluctant to go along with Jenny's plan but when it leaks out that they're engaged it works out that he could do with the fake fiancee story too. Using her favour as getting her to be his fake fiancee too they go along to his brother's wedding and discover that maybe their real relationship isn't as done with as she makes out. Final thoughts Loved this. Lost a star because I got a bit put off by Jenny. Owen actually is far too nice and good for her but then I think like that with regards to my husband so maybe that is normal. Really nice romance. Very feel good. Love the bully comes to her for help and Jenny helps her and sees a different side of her(the bully). Jenny is a sweet character, her son Cooper is just awesome if a little unrealistic for a young teenager. I thought actually he made the book better for me even if I did think I doubt he'd be this agreeable all the way through. Would I read again?: Yes Would I read this author again?: Yes Would I continue on with the series?: Yes
Jenny Castelli can put up with a lot of things in life except for anyone talking bad about her son. When she runs into the clique of mean girls from high school, several comments are made about her son and how he is being raised by a single mom. Before Jenny can stop herself, she lets out a whopper of a lie claiming that she is engaged to mega rich Owen Dalton and that she’ll be bringing him to their reunion. Jenny somehow manages to convince Owen to be her date despite the fact that the two have a history and that Jenny sabotaged their relationship. All Owen wants in return is for Jenny to be his date to a family wedding that he is dreading. The more time that Jenny and Owen spend together, the more they remember what brought them together in the first place. Will Jenny and Owen get a second chance at love? Jenny has a HUGE chip on her shoulder for a good chunk of the book. The daughter of a single mom herself, Jenny feels a ton of guilt for doing the same to Cooper, her son, even if his dad is a complete jerk. She is constantly trying to prove to herself that she doesn’t need any help raising her son. Strangely enough though, Jenny has a big fear of commitment. She purposely destroyed her first relationship with Owen by cheating on him. This time around she is even more hesitant to commit to Owen because he just seems too good to be true and she wants to protect Cooper. After his relationship with Jenny the first time around, Owen had a massive broken heart. Tired of being the geeky guy who got friend zoned all the time, Owen comes to the conclusion that he just isn’t good enough for any woman. So he sets out on a mission to change his appearance and shed’s his geeky façade. Fortunately for Jenny, the nice guy is still there waiting to love her. Much like Jenny, Owen has massive insecurities. Despite being CEO of a huge tech company and doing so much good for the community through his foundation, Owen still doesn’t see himself as successful. The visit home to West Virginia shows just how much Owen wants to earn his father’s love but seems to never measure up. Meant For You by Michelle Major is a fantastic standalone romance. Major focuses on the insecurities we all have in life, while proving that they don’t have to control us. If you love contemporary romance/second chance romance, this would be a good read for you.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it won't be the last, I really enjoyed this second chance romance. Jenny Castello is a single mum doing her best to raise her son, run her business and provide for her mum who is in a care home. The last thing she needs is a high school reunion with girls who made her life a misery but more to the point she doesn't need to see her sons father who walked away when he found out she was pregnant, Jenny comes up with a big fat lie letting them believe she is engaged to a rich sexy geek turned entrepreneur, problem is she needs to convince Owen to go along with her.... Owen Dalton had his heart broken by Jenny once before and now he finds himself being asked to play a fake fiancé for the night, he can't say no to Jenny but she must do something for him in return. Owen has always been the child that was never good enough, even though he is now one of the US's most eligible bachelors he stills thinks he has to prove himself so taking the beautiful Jenny to his brothers wedding is perfect. Will the feelings that Owen and Jenny still have for each bring happiness or will the people from their past ruin their stab at second chance romance...... I loved this sweet romantic story, the characters are loveable and once you add in a delightful little boy call Cooper you have the perfect book to take to the beach or curl up in front of the fire with. Looking forward to reading more from Michelle Major I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book which was provided by the publisher through NetGalley
The story Jenny met Owen two years ago and was smitten. But she self sabotaged their budding relationship out of fear, and she’s been regretting it ever since. When her classmates prod about the upcoming reunion, she alludes to her fiancé. Cue asking Owen to be her fake fiancé. It’s the chance he’s been hoping for, but will she do him a favour in return?
My thoughts This story has fake relationships and second chances written all over it. Jenny and Owen were an important part of the first book in this series and I enjoyed coming back to their story years later in this final instalment. I love how fiercely protective Jenny is of those she loves, but struggles to value herself. The happily ever after is hard won but very sweet. ❤️
I absolutely loved this story! I will definitely have to go back and read the first 3 stories of the series. I loved the interaction between Jenny and Owen and loved seeing the secondary characters throughout and how they shaped both Jenny and Owen. I loved Copper- what a kid! He is so grown up for his age and really helped Jenny to mature as well and see the bigger picture. I was angry with Jenny and her decision on how to handle Cooper's father and her relationship with Owen but got so excited when Owen came to many realizations; one, on himself and his family, and two on how Jenny really felt but her insecurities. Overall, a great read that I can definitely read over again.
I couldn’t finish this book because Jenny was too unlikable. It really didn’t matter to me if she staged the sabotage of her first relationship with Owen or if she actually cheated on him, the action was cruel and vicious. She spent most of the part of the book that I was reading as a big liar. She didn’t have integrity. The scene in the bathroom at the reunion with the mean girl telling Jenny to get her hands of her seemed utterly bizarre and distractingly fictional. Jenny may have been a dedicated mom but still doesn’t know how to behave properly in a relationship like a mature adult. She needs to grow up. I started skimming but then I just quit.
This was an okay read. I really liked Owen and Cooper, I thought they were both great characters. The only one who annoyed me was Jenny. I didn't really understand her motivations for doing some of the things that she did and I definitely think there needed to be more making up/groveling on her end before Owen accepted her back. Also, I never read the first few books in the series, so I did feel a little confused with Owen and Jenny's prior relationship. Overall it was alright.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Goodreads.
Meant for You, the story of Jenny and Owen. What I loved about Jenny was her ability to speak without a filter. She just said what she was thinking in the moment, whether it got her in trouble or not.It mostly got her in trouble.
It's a great read if you like humor and romance mixed together with a little fun!
Jenny runs into some girls She went to high school with who were less than nice to her. She makes up a lie that she is engaged and they assume she means Owen. Jenny has to ask Owen to pretend to be her finance for her reunion. This starts a chain of events. Can they make it all work?
DNF 10% I just couldn’t get over my dislike of the h. I read the previous books a few years ago, so I had forgotten why I didn’t continue with this one. Now I remember. She’s obnoxious, entitled, with a huge chip on her shoulder, and a bad attitude. I forgot how she cheated on Owen (H) in previous books. Apparently now that’s called “self sabotage”. Ugh.
