VAMPYRIE: Origin of the Vampire

Tina was inspired to write GABBY AND THE QUADS when her niece had quadruplets. A child's moral compass develops early, and she wanted to write a book that was ethically as well as traditionally educational. Gabby is an only child who is about to become big sister to quadruplets! How will she handle this? Her parents decide on a unique approach to introduce her to and help her accept this awesome experience. Follow Gabby as she learns all about babies and the joy of loving.

Different View of Vampires!
Vampire: Origin of the Vampire is a new twist on how we look at vampires. This book views vampires in a different way as benign creatures but the bad ones are known as rogues.
The author has created a fascinating and action-packed story of intriguing characters with strong personalities. The main protagonist is Phoebe. She is strong willed and opinionated and is always questioning everything and everyone in her path. When she meets a real life vampire her world is turned upside down and nothing is the same.
There is action, excitement, confrontations between good vampires and rogues. There are secrets that are uncovered and surprises that are revealed that will keep the reading hanging on every word.
I don’t usually read books about vampires but this book is not your average vampire book. It was a pleasant surprise and an enjoyable read by a creative author who made this reader believe that vampires are real and benign characters. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a different take on vampires.

I found the author's take on the origin of the vampire myth to be an interesting one, and thought this book was a pretty good read for the most part. The only reason I don't give it the full five stars is that there were times when I felt the characters were behaving in ways designed to steer the plot in a certain direction, even if it went against what should have been right for the character based on what we'd been led to believe about him or her previously. The main character in particular was supposed to be an intelligent woman who had been studying both the physical and mental aspects of martial arts since childhood, and yet often behaved in a way that made her seem like a spoiled and naive child who's prone to being wreckless and getting herself in to trouble because she either doesn't think before acting or is unaware of her surroundings.

A fabulous new take on the ancient vampire legend. The characters are beautifully woven through this tale and I at times felt sorry for the main character and at other times want to shake her. Sign of a good writer, that. The plot was full of twists and turns which surprises at the right moment. A well written and very enjoyable read.

Normally, I am not a fan of vampire or other “monster” genre stories, but when I read the book’s description along with Frisco’s idea for the book, I was intrigued. Plus, I am fascinated with the Viking myths. As I read this, it reminded me loosely of an old 70s movie, "Frankenstein: The True Story," which told the classic monster story from a psychological and scientific point of view.
Author Tina Frisco offers a compelling and realistic view of the origin of vampires. The characters in Vampyrie are believable, although their penchant for keeping secrets delivers the story slowly, like the peeling of an onion, but with good results. The inexorable development of the heroine, Phoebe, is satisfying to see as she comes to grips with her past and her true identity.
This is not your average horror-genre vampire story, complete with bloody fangs, but a scientific, what-if story that is guaranteed to draw the reader into its paranormal plot with a sci-fi twist. Frisco’s writing is on-point, snappy and consistent. This is a page turner that will hold a reader's interest for hours! What the "Twilight" series did for paranormal romance in the world of vampires, Vampyrie does with a realistic, medical explanation for the origin of the vampire.
