Trapped in their basement. Raped, beaten, and broken. All I have left is my sanity. Preston took my name, and my body. Paxton took my heart. Existing only for him. Don't make me walk away.
***As if it wasn't clear enough, there are TRIGGERS in this book, and if you are not over 18, or cannot handle subjects such as violence, kidnapping and rape, this is NOT the book for you***
Shannon Youngblood is a thirty something, foul mouthed, erotic romance writer, who loves telling a story full of broken pieces, and broken people. There is no subject too graphic, or too taboo, to grace the pages of her stories. Shannon believes that life is not always Happily Ever Afters and Flowers, and sometimes her stories might reflect that. (Non HEA's OH NO!) Shannon loves hearing from her amazing, dirty minded fans as well! Be sure to follow her on her social media sites!
The warning attached to this story is definitely warranted! As an avid reader, I know when we see warning at the beginning of a story, we get what we call the "reader eye roll" and a yeah ok whatever because it's a complete exaggeration. This is the NOT the case with the story. Trust me!
I freely and unashamedly admit I wasn't ready for the pitch blackness of this story. As a connoisseur of the pitch black I've read quite a few books outside the realm of reality. However, this story knocked me on my hind parts! The reveal and epilogue is bloody brilliant! I love an ending that is NOT the normal ending.
I am sure the more I warn you, the more you will want to read it. Be very careful. Drink lots of wine. Hell forget wine. Get Jack Daniels or Jim Beam....you're gonna need it!
**PSA~ for this Goodreads review, there might be some excessive swearing which will be edited for the Amazon review**
Holy mother of hell! I've read read novels by Shannon Youngblood before, but nothing will compare to Trapped. I fucking loved it! Yes, I swore, which is incredibly rare, or at least, I try not too so that I don't have to pg myself later on, but I believe that this review warrants it. It's not your conventional romance story, or dark romance for that matter, so you HAVE to go in expecting EVERYTHING and NOTHING. I know this author has a huge penchant for non-HEAs and I promise you, I swore at the end because, not from a lack of HEA (in a sort of sadistic way, I did get one), but because I still had some questions. Questions I created for myself, not because there was any created from the story itself.
She has no name- or rather, she did, but it was no longer useful or needed considering her current predicament. For too long she's been homeless and continuously wondering where her next meal will come from until she wakes up in a room blindfolded. Her only indications are that she is to become the perfect slave, with no name other than the one that they will give her, to follow every single command that is given to her unless she wants to go through the worst kind of punishments. Her only saving grace from the training that Preston is handing her is his twin brother's, Paxton, aftercare that takes care of the physical damage his brother dolls out while healing her mind.
5 hot and sweaty dreams
Don't be fooled by the short 'blurbish resume' of the book I just wrote out. It's not a completely beautiful story ~ yes, there are parts that gave me the awe inspiring moments, but all in all, Trapped forces you to actively pay attention at how much a human being can be put through and still SURVIVE. She survived and she excelled at so many things that I couldn't help but be impressed by the girl that Paxton named Wendy Darling. Many of the punishments she went through made me cringe ~ I believe that this girl explained it perfectly - Preston is unhinged .
So yes, beware when picking up this book, chances are that for many, this will be riddled with triggers. Go in expecting nothing and everything and I assure you that you WILL absolutely love just how Shannon Youngblood took this story and pushed the boundaries of your mind, brought her characters to life and then make you scream out in surprise and then frustration. Trapped has certainly made it in my top3 books (and I'm VERY picky when it comes to giving my books the topXX rating) and for all the reasons that many will see as incredibly wrong, I fucking LOVED this novel and can't wait to read it again and again, and even more from Shannon Youngblood very, very soon.
Holy friggin hell! This was my first read by Shannon Youngblood, so going into it, I had no idea what to expect. The entire time, my mouth was open. This was one of those books, where you need to make sure you clear your day, because you clearly aren't going to be getting anything done. Without giving anything away, we're centered on a young homeless girl that was kidnapped. She doesn't appear to have a name, but one of her captors, calls her Wendy Darling. Wendy, is then tormented, in the most unimaginable ways, because she has to be prepared to be sold as the 'perfect slave.'
Wendy basically has no shred of hope, as anything vile you can imagine is her punishment. She has one person in her corner, the one she seeks comfort from, but even that is a stretch. The writing style of this author is beyond superb, and I honestly cannot wait to read more from her.
This book is listed as having triggers. That's probably an understatement. If you love dark twisted reads, and aren't bothered by violence, rape etc...Then this book is for you. Which those are my kind of books, which is why I loved this!
4.75 stars. I'm just speechless. I don't know how the author has written this. This is the darkest book i have read this year so far and one of the darkest ever. And as amazing as it was it wasn't easy to read . I would definitely recommend that you be very careful before you get into this one
Ok. Trapped: Her Love Story. Finally finished. Don't get me wrong my reason for two stars is NOT because this book is too dark. I love dark reads. I've read FAR, FAR better and DARKER. This book is BORING. As another reviewer said, it's all abuse, torture, rape, repeat. There's no real reason for it other than to shock I assume or to take away from the lack of decent dialogue and plot. The "two" brothers being the same person was obvious from the start. 'Wendy darling' lacked personality, therefore, at no point did I care what Preston/Paxton did to her. One star for math. One star for getting five-star reviews.

This is my first book by this Author and it will not be my last. I need to check out her other books.
This book has messed with my head I am not even sure where to start with a review so i keep it short..
This book is twisted and Dark.. I really liked Number 12 or Wendy darling such a brave young girl.. and i just wanted to crawl into the book and take her away.. my heart broke for her a few times..
The book was well written.. I really enjoyed it from start to finish.
Trapped is the first book that I have read by Shannon Youngblood. And, what a mind fuck type of book it is! https://giphy.com/gifs/6DLcYgtItBxJK/... (I know I will have to change my verbiage for my Amazon review). But, this book is full of mind fuckery!
I could not put Trapped down! I will let you read the synopsis on your own. I think the author does a far better job than I do.
Please read Shannon Youngblood’s warning because this is a VERY DARK book with a twisted ending. So, if those are things you don’t like in the warning don’t read this book. If you like reading dark books as much as I do then I think you won’t be able to put down Trapped either.
I loved Trapped: Her Love Story and I will be reading more of Shannon Youngblood’s books. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book and I give it 5 stars and I look forward to reading more from Shannon Youngblood.
Warning!!!! This book isn't for the faint of hearts. You will experience graphic scenes. Read of your own risk.
This was hard to read at times..One man got me through it. I would carefully get through the rough parts to cherish how well Paxton is with her. She appeared with no name. Paxton renamed her Wendy. She was to forget who she was and become the Wendy they would train her to be. The girl with no name was taken from the streets to become one person she never dreamed of being. Homeless to slave. A girl who was to be sold off and if she survives being prepped by Preston. She endured everything you could imagine. One man tore her apart while one man kept her going..He was her survival. He was on the verge of killing her. But there is a twist. One you don't expect and definitely won't see coming. The ending just killed me..She was free or was she? She took everything that had happened to her, past and present.... 10 stars!!!!!
I don't know where the HELL to start with this review...... In this we meet "Wendy Darling" or "number 12", a runaway, who's living on the streets after what has been a seriously messed up past. Then we meet Preston and Paxton,......Preston has to be one of the most sick, twisted evilest slave trainers I've EVER read! The things he does to her, the punishments she endures are just so depraved! Then we've got Paxton, who isn't necessarily a slave trainer but kind of is..His training of her is different ...... WOW! Twists, turns, seriously sick and depraved punishments...This book was RIGHT up my street as far as dark reads go. A few times I had to stop as there were so many "WTF" and "SERIOUSLY!!" moments. An absolutely amazingly written story that I absolutely LOVED!!
WOW and yes I made it to the end. And what the freak did I just read??? Seriously this book is NOT for the feint hearted for sure. This book was so twisted on so many levels and by far probably the darkest book this avid reader has ever read. I devoured this book so yes it's dark, twisted, ummmm probably demented on so many levels but couldn't stop reading it. I had to find out if "12" got her HEA!! Well read the book!! I am not a fan of BDSM but this took that scene and multiply it by X10 seriously. This book has you guessing the outcome to the very last page!! I actually cried for "12" and the twisted atrocities that is done to her I mean damn I could never imagine in the darkest recesses of my mind this story. Its a really well written book but seriously DARK so fair warning if you pick it up to read. I don't do spoilers so I think I am done......just dang this book blew me and my mind away!! Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
This is a new to me author and I'm so happy I got to read it. The short blurb and the warning had me jumping right into this story.
The nameless girl hasn't had it easy when she finds herself homeless after running away from her foster home. Wendy Darling as she's called now finds herself naked and afraid in a basement. Preston her master is training her to be the perfect slave. He abuses her body in whatever way he can. Paxton eases the pain after each session.
This is a well written, dark and twisted story that had me basically ignoring everything and everyone so I could read it in one sitting. Heed the warning as this isn't a sweet romantic story. My twisted mind loved it. As for the ending wow... I'm not sure wether I should scream or applaud the author. Full stars from me.
Wow what an edge of your seat story! Scary and very descriptive Wendy as she is called is taken from her cardboard box home and finds herself strapped to a bed in preparation to be trained as a sex slave. Paxton the man who comes and explains things to her tells her that if she does as she is told she will survive or she will be punished. Preston is the twin of Paxton and where Paxton is gentle Preston is viscous. When Preston begins to train her is is unbelievable, how she survives an hour is unreal. If reading physical and mental abuse is hard for you don't read this but if you can read it you would be amazed at how the mind can cope with such horrific acts and still function
I ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!! I don't even know where to start. This book is a total mind f**k. Throughout most of this book I cried. The torture that Wendy Darling went through, I don't even remember if her real name was ever mentioned, but the torture was so unbearable I don't know how she didn't die right there on the spot. Preston was Satan himself and Paxton was, well, not completely the opposite but he was someone with feelings who really cares for Wendy Darling. At times I had a feeling I knew what was going on but then the suspense would get so intense I almost peed my pants. The pain that Wendy endured on a regular basis made me cringe. It was almost unbearable to read. This book is definitely not for the weak of heart. There were surprises around every corner or should I say page after page. Sometimes each one was worse than the next. The closer you get to the end and things start to really begin to be revealed leaves you sitting there with your mouth open, eyes wide in surprise thinking WTF? or HOLY SH*T! Anyway, even though there were alot of surprises, the one with Uncle Bill blew me away. Then I was racking my brain trying to figure out who was with Paxton the night Wendy got the count right. Then when the truth comes out I was surprised but not shocked. Before the ending when she's kissing Paxton I was bawling my eyes out. And then the end is beyond breathtaking, it's both so painfully heartbreaking and a blissfully peaceful. I was so torn. I hate that there are so many things to say but you can't without giving something away. So I'll just stop now. This story is so dark I have to give caution to people who may have triggers. Otherwise I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE!
This was my first book by Shannon Youngblood and WOW..get ready for a deep dark gritty ride. As the warning states there are some dark subjects in this book so if you can't handle them this isn't the book for you. This is one of the darkest books I've read in quite a while. It's a well written twisted story about number 12 (Wendy) and the terror she endured at the hands of Preston. Preston emotionally and physically destroyed her while Paxton heals her body and mind. As twisted as the book was I couldn't put it down until I read the last page. This story drew me in and left me completely surprised by the ending yelling at my kindle. I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for a great twisted dark read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book for Quill and Ink Review.
WOW......This book makes your skin crawl, your muscles shiver, and your thighs clench. This story takes all the deepest darkest depraved thoughts that mankind has ever thought of, and used them against a girl. You want to put it down, you tell yourself you have to put it down, there is no way you can read it. Yet the pages keep turning, the story gets darker. Soon the story ends and you ask yourself did I just read all of that in one sitting? The answer is yes...and your looking for another story by the same author as the ability to drag you into the story is soo great, you're looking for more.
Oh ho!y mother of God! If you lime kink, an evil sinister character, plot twist...TRAPPED should be a book you read! I refuse to give spoilers, but I will say I would sooo read this again! I love dark n twisty turns, and this book messed with my mind- and I f'ing loved it! Be for warned tho, it has triggers, it's not for readers under 18
What a gripping story!! Shannon had me at page 1. The BDSM was spot on!! The horror and thrills, so many ups and downs..... I found this to be a fast paced page turner!!! I want to read every book she has now!!!!
5 DARK STARS & MORE!! Reviewing this without spoilers is hard for me so I'll keep it short & sweet, although there is nothing sweet about this book! The girl without a name but sometimes called Wendy Darling has had one f**ked up life. Finally being free from foster homes, she's snatched from the streets only to be prisoned in the type of hell your worst nightmare can't even describe. This was my first read of Shannon's but she's got me feening for more! Told from characters POV, extremely dark (do not take authors warning as a joke) & effing fabulous!! Thank you, Mrs Youngblood for the opportunity to read your brilliant work. You've earned yourself another stalker!
Trapped was my very first Shannon Youngblood book, however it DEFINITELY won't be my last! I was left feeling in AWE of this talented new to me author. I am a HUGE fan of the dark, and twisty world. Not gonna lie, I LOVE books with trigger warnings. They get my blood pumping! And Shannon hit it out of the ballpark with Trapped!!! Just absolutely BRILLIANTLY written!!!
A runaway at 18, living on the streets, that is until she awakens one day in a strange bed. She soon learns she's been taken, and will be trained and sold as a sex slave. No name, nothing!
We met Preston her Master, he's a sick and twisted monster. He does horrific and unspeakable acts to her. He tears her down both mentally and physically. She wants to give up!
Then we met Paxton, the man who takes care of her. He's there to help her heal from the damage that Preston inflicts. Heal her mentally, and physically. She ends up falling in love with him.... But not all is as it seems!!
HOLY HELL so many twists and turns, and unexpectedness in Trapped. DAYUM!!! I was completely blown away!!! 5 twisty stars for sure!!
*I received an ARC from Quill & Ink reviews in exchange for an honest review.*
CRAZY AF! CAPTIVATING! DID I SAY CRAZY?! There are a lot of graphic details, stuff taking place that will leave you wondering wtf... This was an amazing story, from beginning to end. As I happen to be a reader that was there from the beginning to completion, this story line was amazing. The ending had my mouth left open. I suggest you read this when it comes out! It is one of those story lines, that starts and then you just can't put it down. The details of the events that were occurring wasn't too much, so that is a plus. It was a lot though. You have a woman who is lost with nobody to turn to, running way from an abusive stepfather. She is captured by a man and his brother. They are training her to sell her. To be a slave. The events that takes place to get her through the time leaves you wondering what in the heck was the author thinking. Shannon gives just enough details to let you use your own imagination, and you better believe my imagination was running wild. You then have brothers one sensitive to her needs and one who is training her and tough on the outside. The craziness and madness, above, and love. The characters are well developed and the ending leaves you wondering yet again WTF! You will not regret reading this story when it comes out! Keep a look out and if you haven't read any of her previous work, you are definitely missing out and you should never sleep on anything that Shannon Youngblood puts out.
READ WRITERS WARNING ABOUT TRIGGERS BEFORE READING
****SOME SPOILERS**** My review is based off reading the Beta of this book.
This is the first book I have read by Shannon and it definitely won't be the last. I wasn't sure what to expect when I agreed to read this book. But I'm so glad I did.
Trapped is dark, twisted but brilliant. At the age of 18, she ran away from a horrid life, and is living on the streets in her own personal hell. She's taken and wakes up in a luxury bed instead of a cardboard box. Things have got to be better. But the luxury bed is in a basement and she soon finds out she's now a sex slave and living in another hell. Preston is her Master and puts her through so much pain and mental torture its unbelievable. Paxton is she saving grace after her sessions with Preston, he physically and mentally heals her. She hates Preston and has grown to love Paxton.
There are loads of twists in this story, So what's real? Will she be the perfect slave? Will Paxton save her? Or will she be forever trapped?
I wanted to like this book, but... So here's my brief yet SPOILERY review to try and make sense of my thoughts. ******************************* Overall, I was very meh about this. Until the end. And then it was a very confused, what the hell?? I didn't find the sex scenes erotic or disturbing because I lacked any sort of connection to the story or its characters. The 'bad guys', twins Paxton and Preston, felt one dimensional leaving me ambivalent towards them. Paxton is the sensitive one who likes to bandage, cuddle and discuss Wendy Darling's feelings, leading to painfully awkward and silly dialogue. Preston was so, Hulk Smash! in his inexplicable aggression. I mean, they're trafficking sex slaves, so sure, they're not good people. But he's abusing and causing what should be irreparable damage to the merchandise. Like, dude, chill. Reign yourself in and exert some control. The human trafficking - where did the number 12 come from? It was so random and arbitrary, yet a huge deal in the book: they must train and sell 12 girls. Everything's done in twelves or multiples of twelve. It seems so pointless because I don't think it actually meant anything. Then the auction - a gang bang with 100 dudes...jeesh - was like a bunch of newbies who were overcome with lust with their first whore. And at how grossly used she was, I can't imagine anyone wanting to spend money to own her. Also, pretty sure a passionate mob mentality of 100 sexed up men would have had her dead within minutes. Because honestly, what would they care? They wouldn't. She's a dime a dozen. When the reveal finally comes to make sense of it all... I was like, whaaaat? I mean, talk about hedging your bets on the long game. They had planned it all for years to someday own her? Invested tons of time and money without an assurance of return on their investment? It's so weird and a majorly major plot hole. Time frame, plausibility, etc. - it didn't work.

“Wendy, Darling” also known as, “Girl”, is plucked off the streets where she was homeless, taken to be trained as a sex slave. The men holding her captive are not your typical abductors. They are brothers and very different from one another.
Paxton: gentle, patient and sweet. Preston: dominant, brutal and uncaring.
With an odd obsession for numbers, especially the number 12, the brothers assign her a task each day that involves counting. If she does not come up with the correct answer, the punishments are harsh. I’ve read many, many stories of abduction but the punishments given in this book were quite impressive! I had never read about, “figging” with ginger or a Twilix sex simulating machine before!
Initially I was skeptical over whether I would enjoy this book since I have read so many captor/sex slave stories. Luckily, these abductors were so different from the typical kidnappers and from one another that they fascinated me. Unfortunately, the female main character was too willing a captive. Although the author does give an explanation for this, it’s brief and without a detailed history or backstory on her, it was hard to see her compliance as anything but unrealistic and unlikely.
Although the first half of this book was not as believable, exciting or as unique as I would’ve liked, the last half of this book was absolutely phenomenal! Not everything is as it seems.... The twists and curveballs knocked me off my seat, the last 25% of this book being totally unexpected! I was totally floored and extremely impressed by this unconventional, crazy story!
Wow! I am speechless. If you like dark, dirty and raw, this is it with a huge twist! This is a hardcore read so be prepared. Loved the whole story!
Shannon has a wicked mind but I love it! Her words will take you on a horrific, wonderful ride. The intensity of the story is both heartwarming, but also brutal. The fear Wendy Darling feels when she wakes up from her cardboard box, to being in a soft warm bed is incredible. Her senses tell her she should be frightened, but hearing his voice calms and soothes her. Meeting the man that declares he saved her, is both a blessing and a hell. Paxton takes care of Wendy Darling after Preston is finished with his punishments and training. Taking care of her wounds, mind and heart, Paxton has become her savior and now she must save him. Their love for one another is great but also forbidden. Being sold to the highest bidder is Preston’s only goal. He will be free once she has been auctioned off.
When the past is thrust into Wendy Darling’s present, her world is no longer as she thought it was or could be. Nothing will ever be the same again. Everything Wendy Darling endured would cost her everything, including herself.
What the heck. When I started this, I was holding in my hate for Preston thinking maybe he would turn around and end up catching feelings. I was certain this was like any other captor/captive book where the awful bad man fell for the broken girl. Ummmmmm NOPE. I grew to start looking forward to having Paxton around to give her the tenderness 'Wendy Darling' needed. Then when her test day came and all 100 of those men took turns and the 3 men promised to buy her, I had high hopes she would be bought by them. NOPE. At that point, when Bill came back into the picture and they shaved her head, I was like 'girl, just kill yourself' lololol NOPE. THEN!!!! THEN when Preston turned into Paxton and the truth came out I was FLOORED. Normally I am pretty good at guessing stuff and nothing happened the way I thought. And that ending. That ending man.. Normally I never give 5 stars to a book that don't have an HEA. Even if the book is really good, no HEA is an automatic 4 stars but this book still has me reeling an hour later and I loved every bit of it even though I am bummed it didnt end how I would have preferred, it was definitely a 5 star book. So far this author has me 2 for 2. Both books were 5 stars :-)

Trapped: Her Love Story by Shannon Youngblood Let me start off by saying this story is not for the faint of heart. At times this can be a very tough read but if you like a really good story which is dark, sick and twisted than this is well worth the read. This is the 2nd book I have read by this author and she is really moving up on my must read. Wendy Darling or girl is a runaway from foster care where she was being molested by her stepfather. Her names have been given to her by her captives who are training her to be sold as a sex slave. Preston is the one who breaks her while she is being trained and Paxton is the one who heals her body and mind after she has been brutalized. This is a story that drew me and didn’t let me go. By the end of the book I was like “What in the Hell. I sure didn’t see that coming”. I was left wanting more and would love to see where the author takes this story. I love dark, sick and twisted and this book was it with a kick. Do not sleep on this book and be prepared because you will be blown away. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and give it 5 stars.
WTF.....I am now left shocked and somewhat bemused having completed this read in virtually one sitting.... ... I am a lover of all things dark and twisted...almost nothing is off limits in my book world ...but this had to be on the farthest edge of my comfort zone....this book truly pushed the envelope...
The writing is good and the plot held my attention although in truth it is not a complex story..this poor young woman is thrown into a world of abuse, a world which is limited in space and human contact...... the story is told purely from the female antagonist's perspective and so there is a relentless feeling of impending doom, a world governed by fear and the need to obey ...and where a twisted kind of love can blossom out of necessity and dependency....
This was not a book that entertained or was enjoyable but it was fascinating and I found myself engrossed in the horrors held within it's pages...... the conclusion when it came was suitably unexpected and shocking....this is a must read....but heed those warnings well, it is a must read but not for everyone.......This book was reviewed for Summer's Eve Reads
