SHE WAS EVERYTHING HE’D EVER WANTED
Simon Tremaine has quite possibly fallen in love. There was only one problem, she believed him a complete bore. How better to show the insufferable tempting woman than to seduce her? But when a treacherous secret comes to light, friendships are tested and boundaries are drawn. An enemy lurks in the shadows and as desire grows between them, Simon must find a way to keep the threat from separating them forever or risk losing his heart’s only desire.
Tanya Wilde developed a passion for reading when she had nothing better to do than lurk in the library during her lunch breaks. Her love affair with pen and paper followed soon after she had devoured all of the library’s historical romance books!
In 2020, she won the Romance Writers Organization of South Africa (ROSA) Imbali Award for Excellence in Romance Writing for Not Quite a Rogue.
When she’s not meddling in the lives of her characters or drinking copious amounts of coffee, she’s off on adventures with her partner in crime.
Wilde lives in a town at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains, South Africa.
The third book in the Misadventures of the Heart collection was fantastic. Belle and Simon are both adorable. This book had a mix of romance, humor & intrigue. I hope there will be more books in this series. I'm looking forward to reading lord Craven's book. Maybe the Shaw brothers, the Middleton brothers or even Belle's crazy cousins will get there stories told.
Couldn't put this one down! I loved the way Simon continuously tried to protect Belle while falling madly in love with her and the more he did, the more she tried to outwit and out run him. These are a such an interesting pair of characters that the story couldn't help but write itself around them and what a story it is! Totally captivating! I would definitely recommend this page turner for all the entertainment it provides as well as the really tense and also the very funny moments in it.
A solid 2-1/2. I was resisting this at the beginning (straight into a ball, woman obnoxiously determined to stay single, all the stuff we've seen before) but once Simon decided he was going to win her over and the odd humor grew as the villain threatened, it grew on me.
A few editing misses but nowhere near as many as the last travesty I picked up on the freebie lists.
Simon and Belle, love so unexpected, this book had it's elements of surprise, intrigue, but it was the interjection of humor that made it complete. The lengths that Simon would go to not only protect Belle, but also to win her heart.
The misadventures of a lady who was attached by a spy in her youth, the gentleman she tried to avoid but fell in love with, the agents who were trying to catch the spy but never came close, an so much more in this enchanting story
This was a fun book to read, but with a lot of spelling and grammar errors. It detracted a bit from the reading. I feel some of the points of the book were repeated too often, making it tedious. Overall, not bad.
This romantic love story is sure to make your heart flutter! From its breathtakingly beautiful beginnings to its soul-stirring climax, you'll be swept away on a whirlwind of emotion as you follow the bittersweet journey of two historical lovers.
A Gentleman's Guide to Save a Lady is my first book by Tanya Wilde. Ms Wilde has delivered a well-written book. I love the characters she has penned for this story. Belle and Simon's story is loaded with drama, suspense, humor and sizzle. I enjoyed A Gentleman's Guide to Save a Lady and look forward to reading more from Tanya Wilde in the future. A Gentleman's Guide to Save a Lady is part of the Misadventures of the Heart Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I picked this up the other day, interested by the cover and the description, but didn't realize it's part of a series because it doesn't specifically mention the others or have a numbered order. I could tell when I started it that the characters discussed a shared past, but it didn't take away from reading the book on its own. So if you've read the others, you'll probably get a kick out of seeing familiar faces so to speak, and if you haven't, you can still enjoy this book as it is. Without spoiling anything, the story revolves around spies either for or against the crown. Which tickled me pink because I enjoy adventure in my stories. I have some mixed feelings on the book. I did enjoy it, I want to say that because it's true. But I'm an author and editor, so I did notice quite a few errors inside the book that need to be fixed. They are little things, a linking word missing or the misuse of one word where another should be in its place, but they're there and noticeable. If the author fixes those, that may well improve my rating. I'm not overly fond of characters lying to each other or just not telling each other things when it would really save them all the trouble, not talking about villains of course, and it does happen in this book, but it's done fairly well. The characters don't have a lot of stupid misunderstandings, secrets instead are kept because they're very personal and that's not something lightly shared so it works well. I liked Belle, she's a strong character through the story, though at times she was almost too strong - pushing away help when it was reasonably needed and doing things she admitted weren't smart. I liked Simon, the poor guy, he was quite often berated by Belle and he certainly had strong feelings to keep at it. But he was such a good guy it's impossible to not like him, especially when he sets his mind to doing something. Funny enough, my favorite characters were Craven, Lady Lucinda, and Lord Beaverstoke. The rake, and the happy couple respectively, who just happened to catch my interest. Despite the villain being described well, I felt little fear from him. Instead I just sat back and enjoyed the story as it revolved more on the romance side of things.
A supposed Hero who thinks he can just kiss a lady after treating her abominably? A guy who thinks he can just enter her bedchamber after no courtship whatsoever? Who does he think he is?!!
