From New York Times best-selling author Cristin Harber and USA Today best-selling author Megan Mitcham comes an exciting collaboration...
Jillian Cooper never wanted Callum, until a dream morphs him from her best friend's husband to a singular nocturnal fantasy. Revolted by her own mind and loyal to a fault, she refuses to give the dream life. Still, it manages to make her awkward around her only family; Amery, Callum, and their two stunning daughters.
As an orphan and an Explosive Ordinance Tech with the Navy, things have a way of crashing down around her. The world crumbling call came in the form of a single car, single fatality accident. Amery died.
While she spins in dizzying circles, the girls she's loved since they were in their momma's belly cling to her. When Callum's strong arms fortify them and keep them all from falling apart, Jillian's inner struggle reaches a breaking point. She does the only thing she can to honor her friend's memory... run to the other side of the world to contract for Titan Group, an elite private securities force in need of an EOD.
Callum Bradfield adapts and overcomes. Even after the tragic death of his wife, his core values as a Navy SEAL march him forward... to safer waters. His gig as mission transport for Base Branch - the special operations force for the UN - isn't as adrenaline laden, but he refuses to make his girls orphans. Things are beginning to regroup when Jillian bales on his girls - and him - without a word. To ensure she's safe, he hacks her personal information and follows the crumbs into Titan's database. Crossing that line gets them both under a microscope in the middle of a desert, searching for the proof they need to show their innocence, while he tries to convince Jillian he's more than just her dream.

The sexy times are incredible and the action/work drama was spot on. Some of the personal drama did hit me the wrong way and I didn't enjoy the feeling it gave me. Hence my lower star rating :( Having said that, I am absolutely positive that it won't make a difference to other readers and this novella will have massive success :) It has also sparked my interest in the Titan World and a want to get to know Megan Mitchams other works for sure!
Jillian Cooper wants her best friend's husband. Her friend, Avery, died months ago and Jillian is finding it extremely hard to quit thinking of Callum like a lollipop. They were once all family ...Avery, and Jillian like sisters, Callum the bigger brother she never had, and Callum's two daughters .. the children she never had.
Feeling guilt fixed up with all the other emotions, she decides she must run ... to the other side of the world. Being an explosive expert with the Navy, she can have her pick of where to go.
Callum, upset that Jillian has gone without a word of why .. or where... the Navy Seal hacks his way into Titan's data base to find Jillian. That hack turns into a nightmare.
When Callum is ordered to go with an operative of Titan, he knows he's in big trouble ... not only with Titan, but with Jillian, as well.
Crossing that line gets them both under a microscope in the middle of a desert, searching for the proof they need to show their innocence, while he tries to convince Jillian he's more than just her dream.
This is a Romantic Suspense, with an emphasis on romance.
WARNING: EXPLICIT SEX AND LANGUAGE.
Being more a novella than full length novel, it's a fast easy read. It's well written with likeable characters, although not highly suspenseful.
I wish to thank the author / Inkslinger PR for providing a digital copy of NEVER MINE. The opinion expressed here is unbiased and entirely my own.
4 dusty, dirty and explosive stars for NEVER MINE.
Jillian Cooper and Callum Bradfield have been friends for years, but after Callum's wife and Jilly's BFF Amery dies, their relationship is strained. And when Jilly takes off for Abu Dhabi to work at Titan Group's Middle East HQ disarming bombs, Callum fumes – he's furious that she won't return his calls or acknowledge him in any way. Doing what he needs to do to get her attention, Callum does some creative maneuvering to get some face time with her. The pair soon realize that their long friendship has grown into something more, but while Callum easily comes to terms with that new reality, Jilly can't let go of the guilt of being in love with her BFF's husband and their two little girls. Can she figure out this new dynamic or will she risk losing Callum and the girls completely?
NEVER MINE is a novel by Ms. Mitcham in the Titan World series by a variety of authors writing in and around the world of the Titan series by Cristin Harber. I liked this book a lot, especially the prominence of the Titan team in the Middle East. Jillian and Callum's relationship--I'm a little less enthusiastic about. I had mixed feelings on the admission of love that the two of them felt when the wife/BFF was still alive. Even so, there was nothing unsavory about their unconventional family dynamic (other than some dirty Navy SEAL dreams). I loved the adoration between Callum's girls and Jilly. She was in so many ways a second mother to them and they all acted as such. The couple has such an easy rapport and camaraderie, and I wound up really liking them together as the book progressed. There was the perfect amount of danger and sex in NEVER MINE as well, and both of them were nicely written (and in the case of sex, yummy). I'll be picking up more in Ms. Mitcham's Base Branch series.
Never Mine by Megan Mitcham ***** I loved it! Jillian and Callum are perfect for each other and find their way after a slow sizzle. Their story has friendship, sexiness, angst, love and danger. So good!! Disclosure: I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Never Mine: A Base Branch Novella, by Megan Mitcham is another great credit to an amazing author. This book, from her Base Branch Series, is a foray into Cristin Harber’s Titan World Series. Being a long standing fan of both series, I wondered how combining the two would come out. Of course Ms. Mitcham blended the two worlds perfectly. Many of Ms. Harber’s character creations are present and each is written consistently with their original character. Jared is busy barking out orders while trying to keep some semblance of order, and the ever voluptuous Sugar even pays a visit. Cash is there to kick butt as usual, with Roman on the ready to back him up. And Parker is busy employing his genius while banging away at his computer. Then we meet new operative, Jillian Cooper, who was an Explosive Ordinance Tech with the Navy. An orphan, Jillian’s only family is that of her best friend, Amery, who she recently lost to a car accident, leaving Callum, Amery’s husband, and two daughter’s Ashlyn and Aria. If that tragedy weren’t enough to deal with, she’s been having thoughts of a very naughty nature about Callum, which is where the story opens in a VERY HOT scene. At the six month anniversary of Amery’s accident Jillian’s dilemma culminates and her guilt drives her to make dramatic changes in her life and put plenty of distance between her and Callum. Callum has left the SEALs and taken a less dangerous position with Base Branch to be more available to his two daughters. I have found that sometimes for me when young children take a major role in a story it detracts from the plot and especially any budding romance. That is absolutely not the case in Never Mine, as the precious Ashlyn and Aria only add to the story as motivators. I really enjoyed Callum’s interactions with his two girls, especially when he tried adult reasoning with them, which worked sometimes, and humorously, not so much others. The role of fatherhood is one Callum approaches as he does everything else, with logic and the ingrained determination of a SEAL. That very approach helped him carry on after losing his wife. While he wonders if he is cold hearted, I found his character very warm and likeable. He is the perfect combination of tough yet tender, each when called for. When Jillian, who Callum considers a member of his family, disappears, he takes what he feels is appropriate action to locate her and make sure she is safe. Unfortunately, that action is not taken well by Titan or Base Branch. So Callum is sent to the Middle East, just where Jillian happens to be, to fix his breach of security. What follows is a wild ride so worth reading. I really appreciate how Ms. Mitcham wrote both the characters of Callum and Jillian, and the depth of each of their loyalty to Amery’s memory. And the chemistry between the two is amazingly hot! The dramatic ride to the final resolution is a truly enthralling one. I really liked that Jillian was determined to go where she was most needed and sought a mutually advantageous arrangement for all. I really like a heroine who follows her dreams as well as her heart. And I loved Boomer! I thoroughly enjoyed Never Mine and enthusiastically recommend it. It’s a must read for romantic suspense fans or any romance fan. It is an absolute must read for Titan and Base Branch fans!
Yet again we are snared and carried away in a world of intrigue and fast paced action with Alpha males who are all that and a bag of chips yet somehow can't seem to get one over the seriously independent and strong willed women who grace Megan Mitcham's novels.
This novel actually is the pilot to a collaboration between 'Titan Group' (a series written by Cristin Harber) and Ms Mitcham's 'Base Branch Series'. If anything we were introduced to some new characters that I am not shy to say I wouldn't mind getting to know .... Titan Group here I come!!
Megan did a slam duck job as I have grown so much to love, the fast paced action and hard nosed characters who live a serious on-the-edge lifestyle, yet always a secret soft spot that endears them to you and you see the human side of these larger than life heroes and heroines.
This book starts with a bang!!!! Well more like a moan, a groan and a seriously wicked dream!! Definitely catches the reader's attention and it doesn't stop there ... O no sah!! Action ripples throughout the book .... Action of all types - heart pounding, nail biting and even tear jerking... To name a few! Actually if you've read any of the other books in the BB series you'd know what I mean... And for those of you who haven't ... Tsk! Tsk!Well no time like the present to get a great head start... And btw the first 2 books are free (check at the end of this book or Ms Mitcham's website) so you have no excuse!
We meet Callum a muscular, tattooed piece of sexy man who is a sweet and loving mush when it comes to 'his girls' (2 daughters and Jilly). After the loss of his wife he now has the opportunity to allow his feelings for Jilly to fully surface. He is a member of Base Branch, after leaving the Seals to be there for his children, while Jilly, a top notch Bomb Expert, after trying and failing to keep her mind and dreams off Callum, joined Titan Group and moved clear across the world to alleviate her guilt of loving and fantasizing about her late best friend's husband. However, as all things planned, everything goes sideways and after a security breach and Callum being sent to Titan to explain his reasons behind the breach he teams up with the group to stop a terrorist and nuke threat put things right. He also used the time to demonstrate to Jilly... all night long... why they too make a great team. Would that be convincing enough? Is he enough for Jilly? ... Come inside and see for yourself.
Great characters, great action and non stop roller coaster ride that has your head pivoting to take it all in!!! A smasher!!!
On the POV of the collaboration, I love it as it opens a whole new world of exciting journeys with new characters and ones we have grown to love and follow. Excellent idea and can't wait to read more and enter new worlds. Love it!!!
"I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Opinions and comments are solely my own."
Never Mine; A Base Branch & Titan World Novella; By Megan Mitcham OMG. This was my first Megan Mitcham book, and y'all, now I am hooked!!! Never Mine was amazing! The characters, the suspense and the steaminess were all perfect! I straight up love the characters. Jillian, our heroine is a total bad-ass-B! I don't want to spoil anything, but I love it when the leading lady is just as tough, if not tougher than her male counterpart. Not that Callum is lacking, in ANYTHING, I promise. She is just that cool. The whole novel is seeping with suspense and combined with some intense action, the pages fly by. I even got to catch up with some of my favorite Titan Series characters as well as meet some of the Base Branch operatives. If you haven't read either series, no worries, Never Mine stands alone just fine. I haven't read any of the Base Branch books and I never felt lost, just compelled to get my hands on them! *ARC Review*
The Base Branch Series Enemy Mine, Justice Mine, Stranger Mine, Warrior Mine, Danger Mine, Prisoner Mine, Versions, Virtues, Variations, Never Mine.
GENRES: romanctic suspense, military romance, action suspense SERIES: Yes, the Base Branch Series, and Titan World WARNINGS: dirty language, bloody violence, and steamy naughty times. AGES: 18+ RATING: 5/5
Well with two great authors series combined how can you go wrong, Titan series by Cristen Harber and Base Branch series by Megan Mitcham. Jilly is trying to distance herself from her best friends husband and children in the aftermath of her death, she feels massive guilt because not only does she feel as a single person it should have been her that died but also she is very attracted to Callum. There is a lot more to this story than the basics, Jilly is trained in bomb disposal and there is one that needs finding and disarming. Intrigue, suspense and action. Confusion, love and angst. Two adorable little girls, plus Titan hotties and a surprise appearance by one of the women and a tiny one. For fans of both or either series this is a must read. Exciting and captivating read I loved it and the characters.
This is a new series for me. I picked this up as a free offer, not knowing it was this far into a series. I will definitely look for more. It was a good read and the characters were well written. Callum particularly and his relationship with his girls was great.
When you've found yourself fantasizing after a man you shouldn't want, what do you do to protect yourself? If you're Jillian Cooper, you join up with Titan and trek yourself halfway across the globe to get away from the temptation in the hopes that it goes away.
But when you are a man like Callum, nothing is enough to keep you away from the woman who has become family to you, especially when you start pieceing together how your relationship has changed since your wife's death.
Question is - Can these two figure it all out and find more together? Or will their past and guilt over their blooming feelings stand in their way?
Never Mine was a quick read but very fulfilling. Jillian and Callum's relationship had its problems, but I really liked how they both attempted to do the right thing by not only each other but the entire family. I loved how Megan Mitcham brought the two teams, Base Branch and Titan together on a mission that also gave these two the perfect place to talk and try to figure out the details. Filled with a touch of suspense, a large dose of sexual tension, and a few comedic moments, Never Mine is a wonderful addition to both series and totally worth a read.
I received this ARC book free in exchange for a voluntary honest review. Two of my favorite writers and series collaborating under on book...OMG. Jillian lost a best friend but her friend lived on her her daughters and her friend's husband. Feeling guilty for coveting her friends husband in some no so friendly ways leads Jillian to leave her current life and move half way across the world to be with Titan. Though never feeling apart of the Titan family. Cullum lost a wife and left the SEALs to raise his young daughters. Joining Base Branch let him stay safer for his kids and let him raise the girls right beside his friend Jillian. But when Jillian leaves and disappears, he finds a way to track her down joining in on the dangerous mission. Can they find their way past the hidden truths to find that they need each other
A steamy romance between two warriors with the ghost of his wife between them. Rather than give into the infatuation she feels for her dead friend’s husband, Jillian signs up for a dangerous mission in a war torn area of the Middle East. Callum and his daughter’s do not take her desertion lightly and when he tracks her down, it causes Jillian untold embarrassment. Despite her best efforts, the attraction between Jillian and Callum just will not be laid aside, and when Callum is called in to explain his actions, they are drawn towards one another like powerful magnets. Never Mine is an exciting, steamy read. Ms Mitcham doesn’t pad the story with unnecessary words, but allows the story to race along towards a very satisfactory ending. I received an ARC from the author, and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Wow! Talk about starting out hot! The opening chapter just blows your mind, and then the whole book continues to do so. When I read this, I couldn't help but want to go back and re-read every Titan World book all over again! The use of the Titan characters was spot on! The attitudes, the interactions. This book was so well done! The witty banter, the sexual tension, this book will hook you in and drive you mad, insane, work you up into a frenzy, and never let you down.
"Hmmm." Winters popped a handful of Dots into his mouth, grinned and chewed. "What, hmmm?" she snapped. "Little Jilly's on the lam." Cash chuckled. "On the lam from love," Winters finished.
"Delta, don't make goo-goo eyes at Cooper or Bradfield will try his damnedest to pop them out of your skulls."
You won't be disappointed if you pick this up! Intense doesn't even begin to describe it!
Loved this spin off of the Titan men. Jillian tried to do the right thing by keeping away from Caleb, but Caleb wasn't having it. I love a strong, alpha man who knows what he wants and goes after it without apology. Intertwined with the plot at hand, he and Jillian end up having to work together, which gives him the perfect opportunity to convince him that she belongs with him and his girls. This is not an insta-love story. Their romance has been slowly brewing, unbeknownst to them, until things finally became crystal clear. Great action and suspense, steaming hot love, a kickass heroine, and an HEA. This was an exciting read from beginning to end. I'm really enjoying the Base Branch team. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Let me start by saying, I've never read anything by Megan Mitcham before, so I had no clue if I would enjoy this book or not. I read it because it's part of the Titan World Series and I love Cristin Harber's characters. Well, crikey, I absolutely loved this book. I'm completely in love with Callum, and poor Jillian; she was dealing with some tough feelings but was still a total badass. The ending had me in tears. I need to know more about Base Branch - you can bet I'm going to be reading much more by Megan in the future. For those concerned about the Titan boys...don't worry, you still get plenty of them and they're the characters you know and love.
Jillian Cooper she is a orphan and the only friend she has is Amery who is married to a navy seal and they have two beautiful daughters but she has had nocturnal dreams and she is loyal to a fault so one day she gets a call Amery has died in a car accident she clings to the two girls and the dad but she keeps getting hot dreams and she goes to the far reaches of the planet but it is not far enough lol loved this book cried and got lots of excitement oh yeah hot and exciting read great book. Michelle
I loved this book! Callum has to be a favourite for me. He is so steadfast and dedicated to his family, while still being that hot alpha male type that gets the blood boiling! Whilst Jillian is so completely loyal to her friend, that when her world changes she can no longer deal and runs, it sets off a chain of events that will keep you turning pages until the book is finished! I truly couldn't put this one down. While this is a novella it is in no way a hurried storyline, nor does it end abruptly like some others do. I cannot wait for the next in this series!!
I can only imagine what a heartbreaking and difficult position Jillian found herself in. To find yourself in love with your best friend's husband is bad enough but the friend to die, leaving you feeling more guilty than you felt before. Callum being the strong dependable person that he is , initially doesn't understand why she's distancing herself from him and his children, he only knows that he needs her to make him whole and them a family.

First story I have read by this author and I enjoyed it. Mitcham did a great job with Titan Group. I loved with a series like Titan is expanded and other worlds from different authors add entire new experience. I am looking forward to reading more by Mitcham. Happy Reading
A really good read. Gripping and frustrating all at once. I loved the action scenes but Jilly drove me mad. How could such a brave courageous woman be so afraid to face up to the love she had for Callum and his girls? Thank goodness for Jared and Sugar enabling Callum to claim his woman.
I enjoyed reading this book, it has a great storyline. Can't wait to read more from this author. I received a FREE ARC copy to read volunteerly for an honest review.
Loved this story. It is the first one I have read from this author and I love how it aligns with the Titan World - bringing old favorite characters back to live with new characters to follow.

My Thoughts: I actually think Never Mine is worth four stars but I felt like considering I missed out on previous books and minor cameo's and history involved and a few things I felt I might have better enjoyed had I read the previous books. That being said I liked the world, I liked the characters, the sex was good and the journey they go on together to over come their obstacles that kept them apart was worth the wait for this novella.
I want to read the previous books in this series so that I can enjoy more this whole world and the people involved.

For months Jillian Cooper was in love with her best friend Amery’s husband, but never acted on it, only in her dreams. Now Amery is dead and Jillian does not want to be disloyal to her dead friend so she retires from the Navy and takes a mission for the Titan Group in Abu Dhabi, the Middle East, as a bomb explosives expert to be as far away from Callum as possible. Callum Bradfield, Base Branch operative, and his daughters, misses Jillian as she was part of their family before Amery died and always will be part of their family. Jillian is MIA and Callum is worried, so he searches for her and in the process hacks into Titan Group’s secure system and causes a storm. Titan have Callum flown to Abu Dhabi to educate them in his hacking methods. In Abu Dhabi Jillian and Callum have to work together to find a missing warhead and find who is responsible for stealing it right under the Titan Group’s nose. Jillian has a hard time not to give in to her feelings, but Callum has no problem and opens his heart for Jillian, but she turns away from Callum. If you want a quick read with a lot of action, some suspense, hot romance and a truly HEA, then this is the book for you. Combining familiar characters from the Titan Group with Base Branch feels like reading about old friends. Great book once again by Megan Mitcham!
This is a different kind of story which fits perfectly in the Base Branch series. The start is intriguing, then sadness, wittiness, funniness, action and sexiness take place in a roller coaster of emotions. I loved the characters, especially Callum and his babies. Totally recommended!
A bit much military lingo for me but not a bad read. I have to be in the mood for this type of suspense I guess but I was sucked in by the "I'm in love with my dead BFF's husband" premise. At least it was a quick read.
Fantastic romance suspense with terrific characters and a thrilling storyline. This one’s a little tragic and sad but a really good relationship develops out of the sadness. Love the characters’ journey to love. Nothing like a sexy Seal single dad.
