Rescued Heart

"Please, Jordan. It’s Emme.”

The last thing Major Jordan Grant expected was to be pulled off his unit’s deployment for a civilian mission. But when Titan calls, you answer — especially when the mission is to rescue the younger sister of your childhood best friend.

Moments away from death, NGO nurse Emme France could only pray for a miracle. The last person she expected to see in the smoke and dust was Jordan Grant, her teenage crush and litmus test of all the men she’d dated ever since.

Lying low at Titan’s exotic Abu Dhabi headquarters while the media furor around her rescue settles, Emme and Jordan explore a mutual attraction that is no longer young and innocent. Days in the desert paradise ignite desire and blur reality… until they return home, where Jordan rejoins his deployed unit and Emme is left alone to reevaluate her life and priorities.

Their passion was forged in the fires of combat. Will the home fires be enough to keep the burn alive?

This is the only book in the Titan World series that I pre-ordered because I really liked Stitched-Up heart, the author’s debut novel. And Rescued Heart didn’t disappoint, at all! I’m not really a huge fan of novellas, I need the detail, I need the feels, I need the angst and I really need the story to be fleshed out and not feel rushed. Again, Rescued Heart didn’t disappoint, although the end was a teensy bit rushed, which I think would have benefited from another chapter. But that’s just me being greedy.

A brilliant read that kept me hooked from word one with really likeable characters that were honest, spoke to and listened to each other, with no ex drama or no pushing and pulling.

4.5 that hit the spot stars.

Rescued Heart is another fantastic addition to the Titan World Series. I can’t get enough of them. I hope when you read them that you feel the same.

5 Emme Lou Who & Jingle Balls Stars

Major Jordan Grant Army Ranger, scarred, slightly tortured as always known the Army but lately he feels as if something has been missing. After meeting Jordan briefly in Stitched up Heart I did a little happy dance when I saw this. Jordan intrigued me the tortured Hero, the man who has lost his way. The man who needs to find a purpose again.

Emme a nurse practitioner decided to go to work in Mali for a non-profit organization while treating patients she is kidnapped and held for ransom. The ransom money is ten million dollars. Money the friends and the family do not have.

Jordan’ best friend’s little sister Emme shared a kiss together as teenagers. Chaste, innocent yet special. Jordan realized that Emme had turned into a beautiful woman but felt that the age difference was a hindrance and well there was his best friend and their father to contend with. Since that kiss he avoided her like the plague. He didn’t want to admit his feelings although they were there.

Emme’s father a General has pulled in every favor that he has been owed

Enter the Titan Group.

A simple rescue mission. To make things easier Jordan has been requested by name to go along so that she has someone she knows, he is pulled off his upcoming deployment which he isn’t happy about although he hesitates he agrees to help although there are some incentives for him involved he doesn’t help out because of them.

Jordan stays on to take care of Emme when they get to Dubai and the underlying feelings or the crush turns into so much more but what happens when they are back in the real world. Jordan will be deployed for six months but they both want it to work. They are great together. They have an easiness about them that is endearing and just wants you to have them have their happily ever after. Emme is strong heroine, sassy but let her insecurities get in the way but Jordan also had insecurities but they manage to work out their differences but in saying that Emme should of held on slightly longer.

Normally I am quite stingy when it comes to giving 5* and originally it was a 4* star read for me but this book is like a good whiskey hence me changing my mind.

Ms. Deaton’s talent flawlessly extended the Titan World and you can’t help but not forget the world around you when reading Emme and Jordan’s story. All the elements that balance out the book the angst, the romance, the suspense and the couple in itself are perfect and I can’t wait to read more of the author’s work in the future.

Parting words from the author:

And Team Titan – I hope I lived up to your expectations and did your boys proud. – You sure did in my opinion.

Tarina Deaton blew me away with her first book Stitched Up Heart. When she asked me if I’d like an ARC of her next book, Rescued Heart, I was super disappointed there was no way I could get to it right away since I just knew it was going to be a great book, and I was right.

When Emme gets taken hostage in Africa, her family asks that Jordan, a ranger, go with Titan Security to rescue her. They’ve known each other almost all their lives and her family wanted her to have a familiar face there. She’s his childhood best friend’s little sister and she’s always held a special place in his heart. He not only agrees to this plan, he then stays with her for a couple of weeks while she recuperates away from the eyes of the press.

The rescue was heart-stopping and gave me the action that I absolutely crave. It then settles into a love story chock-full of feels and loads of sweetness. This was super sexy with lots and lots of steamy action between the sheets. No wham, bam, thank you, Ma’am’s here, Jordan knows how to take his time, do it right, and let his woman know how he feels the whole time.

The emotions are where this book shines. Even though it’s a novella, I felt them falling in love and as well as the sadness when they were separated. I was not a fan of the little monkey wrench thrown in towards the end, but I got over that. There were a few things that threw me a little, like why her parents didn’t rush to her side once she was rescued, but again, I ignored it all and focused on the awesome feels this book inspired.

Ms. Deaton continues to impress me with another solid read, that was sweet, sexy, and full of goodness that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Great off-shoot of the series. Really enjoyed the story. Had to mark it down though because I had absolutely no idea why he had to make a "grand gesture" He did NOTHING wrong! I love grovel, but only when required....

However, it was still super enjoyable!

Rescued Heart is the incredible, emotional, angsty love story between Emme France and Jordan Grant who have known each other since childhood. Jordan was Emme's older brothers' best friend growing up (and he also happened to be Emme's teenage crush!) It's been 15 years since they've seen one another, but it doesn't take long for all the feelings and all the attraction to come back full force!

When Emme, a nurse working in Mali, is kidnapped and held for ransom, her father engages Titan to go in and rescue her....and as a retired General he pulls some strings to have one Major Jordan Grant pulled off deployment to help Titan bring Emme back from the brink of death.

I loved both Emme, her passion and her kind heart and Jordan, the gorgeous, sexy alpha with a heart of gold! The love scenes are at times panty-melting hot, sometimes soul searingly tender, making you sigh contentedly.

The story of how the insane attraction between these two turns into love and the intense issues that they have to deal with combined with some angsty twists and turns makes this book a page-turner and a book I would highly recommend! I can't wait for the next book from Tarina in the Combat Hearts series!

4 rescued and reunited stars for RESCUED HEART!

When childhood friend Emme France is kidnapped from the clinic she works at in Mali, Army Major Jordan Grant is determined to get her back. Pulled from active duty by the Titan Group to assist on her rescue, Jordan and the other men are quickly able to get Emme back. Killing time and hiding from the media circus back home, Jordan stays with Emme in Abu Dhabi to help her heal and re-assimilate. The two quickly realize that the friendship they had as kids has morphed into something potent and insistent, and they spend the next few weeks gettin' it on. But Jordan is due to meet up with his Army unit, and Emme needs to get back to the US to her parents. With their bubble bursting, will the two have a shot at making it?

RESCUED HEART is a novella by Ms. Deaton in the Combat Hearts series, as well as an addition to the Titan World series by a variety of authors writing in and around the world of the Titan series by Cristin Harber. This is just Ms. Deaton's second novel, and for being so new to the industry, she really wrote a fabulous novel! Emme and Jordan had such chemistry and a really strong connection, and their story was both sweet and incredibly sexy. I loved the action in the beginning of the book, and my only wish is that there was some more of that spread throughout. Even so, this is one new author that I'll be looking for in the future, and I'll definitely pick up the first book in the Combat Heart series!

Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing; condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; some military violence/murder. - See more at: http://www.theromancereviews.com/view...

I enjoyed Emme until she jumped to conclusions and made Jordan suffer. Use your big brain Emme, he's deployed, near a combat zone and often goes on missions...HE CAN'T SKYPE EVERYNIGHT!!!!
Other than that, Emme is a strong and likable heroine. Jordan is just what I needed. A big dose of an in control, hot military man who is large and in charge!

I borrowed Rescued Heart from the Kindle Unlimited Program.

Major Jordan Grant is pulled off his upcoming mission to join the Titan Group in a rescue that is personal for him. They are going to rescue his best friend from childhood younger sister, Emme after she is captured by local terrorists in Africa where she is working as a medical provider for women in the area.

Emme and Jordan find their mutual attraction from when they were kids leads to a strong romance with several problems along the way. They did find their happy ending after he made his grand gesture.

The last thing that Major Jordan Grant ever expected to see when he walked into his CO's office, was the very worried face of his best friend. Moreover, the very last thing that he wanted to hear was that the sister of his best friend, now a nurse working in war torn Africa. Was being held for ransom by terrorists.
The first thing that he, and members of the Titan group want to do is get her back.
They may be in it for the mission.
But he's in it for love!

This is a love story made for today's reader. Overflowing with realism, grit, and heart. This tale of a childhood spark rekindled is sweet, compelling, and one that reader hearts and minds will find hard to let go.

The strength and fortitude that both Jordan and Emme exhibit during battle, serve them will long after the dust has settled and the echoes of gunfire are but a distant memory.
When the two must navigate an even more treacherous and uncertain minefield. That of the heart.

While neither of the two combatants in this war of emotions is willing or able to fight the overwhelming attraction that they feel for each other. Each is willing to grant no quarter to the other on emotional grounds.
Until...
After two weeks together, filled with mindblowing sex, intimacy, and healing. Jordan is once again called away on deployment, and Emme's fears about the validity of his feelings for her are allowed to resurface.

This is a story in which the drama never stops. Instead only slowing a bit to change from the physical stressors of life and death, to the emotional and psychological ones of PTSD, and relationships. While the sex scenes found here are molten hot. Each one bears a very significant weight within the framework of this plot. Because it is here that the true depth and breath of Jordan's and Emme's connection to each other is truly expressed.

The writing, pacing, and character development found here are exceptional. Meriting any work from this author a permanent place on this reviewer's shelves. As well as automatic auto-buy status.

Tarina Deaton is another new author for me and Rescued Heart has made me a fan.
I really loved the characters Deaton brings us, as well as the suspense and deep heartfelt romance.
Her characters not only fight the seen enemy, but are fighting some emotional battles as well. Rescued Heart features some familiar faces from the Titan Series as well as some new characters I had not met. But if you haven't read the Titan Series or The Combat Heart Series, no worries, Rescued Heart stands alone very well.

I enjoyed this book, but not as much as the earlier books in this series. The characters weren't as well-developed, and the insta-sex relationship between Emme and Jordan was a little off-putting, especially since it happened following a traumatic near-death experience for the kidnapped (and still recovering) Emme, and she and her rescuer Jordan hadn't laid eyes on each other for fifteen years. After that, the story of their time together was 90% sex and 10% sweet. I would've preferred if their relationship started out more on the sweet and tender side before the heat took over.

Also, the "poor me" reaction by Emme when Jordan didn't contact her while he was deployed on a military mission infuriated me a little. Even her father, who was retired military, didn't think a soldier on a dangerous mission might have a damned good reason for not checking in with her? That's bogus. Jordan didn't have anything to apologize for, dammit! My husband was a grunt in Vietnam, and not hearing from him for a long time caused concern for his welfare, not a "poor me" response because he hadn't been in touch. [End of rant]

As other reviewers have already noted, this book could have used a lot more editing. In fact, all of the books in this series would be a lot better with the elimination of the misspellings, grammatical errors, and other careless errors. Too bad.

Nonetheless, I've already ordered the next (and final) book in the series. I'm in this far, so I might as well stay the course, because in spite of my grumbling, these ARE enjoyable books.

Three and a half stars.

I need someone to come rescue my heart because Tarina Deaton has stolen it! What a way to sweep a reader off of her feet and immerse her in a world that she loves! Through this journey of Rescued Heart, I found myself moved to tears I laughed so hard. Deaton's Rescued Heart is a perfect collaboration with Cristin Harber's Titan series and one that will leave a smile on any Titan fans face! This story flowed and mashed so well that I had trouble putting it down! That thing called sleep got in my way once. I have become a fast fan of Ms. Deaton's and look forward to more of her work, whether it be on her own or more of Titan. She is the true definition of Titan Strong!

Oh, sweet handsome Jordan, did I love this spin-off from Stitched-Up Heart!

Jordan and Emme have history, but it's casual at best. When he joins the military, they part ways, not once speaking though occasionally thinking of each other. But when Emme is taken hostage in a vicious terrorist attack, Jordan catches wind and signs on for the rescue mission. It's violent, it's bloody, it's dangerous... and there's no guarantee they'll find Emme alive.

"Rescued Heart" carries the same heart (no pun intended) as its predecessor. In fact, Jordan was briefly in "Stitched-Up Heart" and happens to cross paths with Bree as the story goes along. The hints at each others' worlds entwining is absolutely delightful and brilliantly plotted, all while RH keeps its own tone. There's still sass, what you expect from military slang, and verbal teasing between our hero and heroine, but they're not cookie-cutter copies of Jase and Bree. Jordan and Emme have their own motivations, their own desires, their own reactions to love, stress, and bloody battle.

Of course, being an erotica, there are sex scenes, and they're just as steaming hot as SUH. My face was SCORCHED while reading those scenes!

Highly recommended, whether or not you're a fan of military romance. Ms. Deaton's sense of humor slays, her characters are multi-dimensional and easy to care about, and her command of a sex scene is handled with the finesse of a true author.

Solid 5 stars!

Rescued Heart, Combat Hearts book 3 by Tarina Deaton, Narration by Hayden Bishop

I purchased this book and audio.
So, we kinda know Jordan but not a whole lot. We know he survived the unimaginable thanks to Bree. We know he has demons. We know he is struggling. So when I got his book I was so excited to meet this man.
Again, I have to say the narration is A-MAZ-ING!! I mean Hayden just blows me away with each book. I absolutely love love love her ability to tell the story.
Jordan is going to dedicate his life to military and service. When he gets a call to come and do a special “off the books” mission for a family friend he is stunned. He always thought Emme was something special as a kid and now he can’t imagine her as a woman. He joins the Titan Team (This is a series from Cristin Harber) who was hired by her family.
Emme is doing her thing providing care for women in another country when she is taken as a hostage. She is not sure why and is giving up surviving when she is rescued by….Jordan…..Doug’s best friend. The one guy she always crushed on???
The story of Emme and Jordan was amazing. The way he helped her get through her trauma. The way they both talked about their history and wanting to explore MORE. Of course, stuff goes sideways and hearts are on the line.
I was so excited by this couple. I love the way they bonded and how they both accepted each other for who they are. They both wanted more with the other but were scared to death at rejection or changes they couldn’t handle.

Can Jordan rescue Emme in time

Jordan has been ask to go with Jared Weston and crew to rescue Emmeline France from the men who has taken her hostage. As a favor for her brother and father, the general he's able to go with Titan to rescue her. But he doesn't ask what the incentive is that is mentioned, which may cause problems between them later on.

Emmeline France is a nurse practitioner running a clinic in Mali but she never expects to see her brothers best friend there to take her home. Can either of them resist the strong attraction between them? Once they become intimate, Jordan has to return to active duty. When an accident happens and neither Emme and Jordan be able continue exploring their new love together.

I loved Ms. Dragon's first book and this one, Rescued Heart doesn't disappoint. It's as good or better than the first book in what I hope is a wonderful series.

I am a huge fan of Cristin Harber’s Titan Series, so I was a bit mixed on whether to start reading the World books. I have to say that Rescued Heart simply blew me away. Tarina Deaton did an amazing job combining Jared Weston’s Titan Group with her series. I went and bought the first book so I could read it, she’s definitely made herself a new fan.

Jordan Grant is called off a mission to help the Titan group in a rescue. He’s not quite sure why he’s been asked until he finds out that it’s Emmeline France, his best friend’s little sister and the girl he kissed years ago. She’s been kidnapped, beaten, and held for ransom.

Jordan spends time with Emme helping her recover. He also realizes he’s powerless to stop the attraction they both feel. But what happens when it’s time for the real world?

This book was truly amazing, it had me smiling, crying, and all sorts of emotional. It’s going right into my, “Read it again!” file.

I really enjoyed this Titan World novel. The author did a great job of establishing a past between the couple so their relationship felt very natural & believable. It was not an instant just rescued by a hot hero so let’s get hot between the sheets love. They have their place & I like them too, this book just had a cozy, intimate feel surrounding the couple, Jordan & Emme. My heart broke a little when Emme doubts Jordan & their relationship. This book pulls at all the right heart strings and has a mix of both sweet & heat scenes. I would highly recommend this book especially if you are a fan of Cristin Harbor’s Titan novels as the author stayed true to Cristin’s characters. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Jordan gets pulled off his assignment and thrust into a private rescue mission. The person he is going after is his best friends little sister. Emme is being held and beaten and Jordan will do anything to save her. The team gets her out and she is in rough shape but Jordan stays by her side to help her recover. The attraction is there between both of them. But is it just because Emme is a rescue or is it more. They don’t have much time together before he has to get back with his unit. And she questions if he really wants her or was he just working on a promotion? Eventually it all comes out and they get their HEA.

I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series, so I was expecting more of the same. Unfortunately, even if this book was still decent, it did not compare to the first book. Maybe it was too short? I did really like both MCs and the plot was good. The ending felt rushed though. Spice was spicing! I partially listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narrator (I do wish it was dual narration though, we only get a female narrator).
So all in all, I enjoyed this, but not as much as the first book.

Safety:

- No cheating
- Short separation / third act break up due to misunderstanding.

I liked this book, it's a great storyline; Nurse Emme is rescued by Titan and Army Ranger - Jordan Grant, who happens to be her schoolgirl crush. Emme spends two weeks secluded in a hotel recuperating with Jordan by her side. Where the attraction becomes too much to resist for the both of them. I liked the action, I read a lot of thrillers set around the military so I really enjoyed that aspect of the book and the fact it combined two of my favourite things action & romance. The romance is sweet and steamy. The Titan guys are on fine form in this book.

Jordan is definitely a person you want by your side in a stuffed up situation, would make a definite accessory to Titan or one of the companies it can call on for backup. Meme is no shrinking violet either, she's a regular army brat through and through, ready and full of grit in a dicey situation. Jordan is Emma's female equivalent I believe. They both have their field of expertise and excel at it. Thanks Tatiana, I seriously enjoyed getting to know the characters in this book and would love to read more.

Interesting story

This Combat Hearts book ties back into a different series I read and I like that. It also opened the door to a possible other series which I am a believer in good book series. I like having characters grow and intertwine in the next romance and intrigue. Jordan Jingle Balls finds and rescues his Emmy Lou Who once when she was young and then again as a grown woman. The bigger story is that she rescued him right back from a world he had lost belief in and the beauty in it.

Will definitely read the next I. The series.

I enjoyed the first three quarters of the book, but it lost my good favour when the hero was injured and in a coma, and ends up apologizing for not responding sooner. That just doesn’t seem like something he should have to make a grand gesture apology for. Also, he was a soldier on a combat mission, and his girlfriend assumes he is breaking things off with her by ignoring her messages rather than being concerned something may have happened to him and trying to investigate? Not an ounce of logic in that assumption. The last quarter of the book wrecked the story for me.

This was a great addition to the Titan World created by Cristin Harber. The author does justice with Titan Characters she had Sugar and Westin's banter down perfect. Absolutely loved Jordan and Emme's story. I hope this author expands with a series from "Leonidas Team". They have been mentioned in the last two books of this series.
Good story and it was great to read about Bree and Jase.

Full of passion and suspense and you should buy this book. Emme is the "is kidnapped and held for ransom in Mali. Jordan, Army ranger along with others is tasked for her rescue and save her just in time. They are evacuated to Abu Dhabi where Jordan remains by her side as she recovers. Passion, love and a rosy future evolves as they reconnect after such a long time apart.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It doesn't have a lot of action, but enough to enjoy the suspense of the rescue. It is my first time reading a book from this author, and I must say the way she wrote the love between Emme and Jordan made me really feel it and believe it. I look forward to reading more of her work.
