USA Today and Amazon #1 Bestseller M. L. “Matt” Buchman started writing on a flight south from Japan to ride his bicycle across the Australian Outback. Just part of a solo around-the-world trip that ultimately launched his writing career.

From the very beginning, his powerful female heroines insisted on putting character first, then a great adventure. He’s since written over 60 action-adventure thrillers and military romantic suspense novels. And just for the fun of it: 100 short stories, and a fast-growing pile of read-by-author audiobooks.

Booklist says: 3x “Top 10 of the Year.” PW says: “Tom Clancy fans open to a strong female lead will clamor for more.” His fans say: “I want more now…of everything.” That his characters are even more insistent than his fans is a hoot.
As a 30-year project manager with a geophysics degree who has designed and built houses, flown and jumped out of planes, and solo-sailed a 50’ ketch, he is awed by what is possible. More at: www.mlbuchman.com.

Oh, great. Now the 5E series must get added to my TBR list!
(champagne problems)

Nikita and Drake's story spins some familiar elements from the Firehawks and Kee/Archie/Dilya stories into an exciting dark ops romp anchored by deep emotional intimacy and team work. Target of Mine is fast-paced fun.

The Book That Shouldn’t Have Been: Target of Mine

What writer in his right mind would make his heroine the first woman to qualify for SEAL Team Six? And pair her—in all her glorious strength and determination—with a beta hero? And then locate this oddly matched, quintessentially military couple on a luxurious cruise ship making its leisurely way down to Honduras?

Nikita Hayward, the first female SEAL, should be terrifying, right? Talk about competence porn. No matter that Nikita looks like the girl next door, her abilities should make her the “girl least likely to be a romance novel heroine.” But no, in Matt Buchman’s capable hands, Nikita is perfect—perfect for the mission—taking down Honduran terrorists aided by Titan, the toughest group of military contractors on the side of angels.

And Nikita is perfect for Drake Ramon, gunner on the Night Stalkers’ DAP Hawk helicopter Beatrix. Handsome as any Hollywood hero, Drake has always found women to be easy. Getting into the Night Stalkers is the only thing he’s ever really worked for. But nothing about Nikita is easy, and the challenge of winning her attention, her admiration, and her heart makes Drake reach and strive and sweat. You like a hero who grovels? What about a hero who really has to dig deep and work hard to win the heroine? Masterful.

And the luxury cruise? A totally new back-drop for Buchman, but the perfect showcase to display Nikita as a feminine heroine, surrounded by lavish clothes, sumptuous food, cruise crew eager to serve.

What else makes this entertaining and fun? Seeing Nikita chafe at wearing designer clothes, longing for her rifle, at the same time Drake is using every small advantage to keep her off-balance. Engaging secondary characters like Zoe the drone pilot who understands clothes and image and fearlessly bosses around Nikita’s superior, Lt. Commander Luke Altman; like statuesque Esly, the Honduran cop turned baddie. And I loved the perfect resolution to the mission—so intense, so satisfying.

I enjoyed the interaction between Nikita and her team and the Titan leaders, J-dawg and Sugar. I haven’t read any other Titan novels, but I’m intrigued by this introduction. Sugar, like Nikita, is another woman I want to be when I grow up.
I received a free copy of this title from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I've read by M.L. Buchman and I just have one thing to say about that...why has nobody told me about him before? I honestly loved this book, military thrillers with a twist are one of my first reading loves and this book definitely fits the category. It has everything; action, suspense, humour and romance. It felt organic in its telling; that everything happened at the right time and the way it should, no one theme overpowered the other. It was the perfect blend. When a mission takes Navy SEAL Nikita into unfriendly territory she must depend on the skills of her team, which includes Night Stalker Drake Roman; they'll be fine, if they can just survive the attraction and get to the bottom of the unknown threat. The chemistry between the characters was perfectly written, the change in the characters as the story progress was believable and had me rooting for the good guys. The inclusion of Team Titan was just the right amount and the interacts had me chuckling. I definitely need to go and read more by this author.

Team 5E finds themselves on an unusual mission - a luxury cruise ship in Honduras. Impersonating the owner of a mercenary outfit seemingly involved in all sorts of illegal activities from drugs to government overthrows, Drake finds himself leading a mission rather than simply being a supporting player, with the kick-ass Nikita playing his arm-candy. There's a lot less action and a lot more pure romance in this one, although there is quite a dramatic action sequence that wraps up the mission in the jungles of Honduras. Did I also mention that there is a hurricane roaring through at the same time? It was fun, the usual strong female characters and many who are more than they first appear (Sugar and J-dawg need their own story if there isn't one already), with the addition of a bit of humanitarian charitable work after the bad guys are overcome.

It was fun to see the crossover characters from Cristin Harber's Titan novels me up with the protagonists from The Night Stalkers 5E. I enjoy both series, so this was a treat.

Really liked these new characters, and there was some good character growth as well over the course of the book. This story had a good balance of the suspense and action on one hand, and the lighter romance and camaraderie parts on the other. Mostly an enjoyable read.

Not a fan of undercover plots, especially when it requires the women to dress skimpily and pretend to be stupid. I prefer the stories without any undercover parts, and more helicopter parts.

"Target of Mine" is a great read in the world of romantic suspense. It is a crossover book in the Titan World' with some great characters that we have seen in other books. It is, however, a book that stands on its own. Nikita was one kick a** woman with some issues to resolve, and was just the right fit for sexy man Drake. It was a bit softer in a lot of ways, but again, it was a different series and not a continuing book in the 'Night Stalkers' series. Jared and Lily of the 'Titan' Series being a small part of the story blends with the two worlds crossing over. I agree with one reviewer that if you are looking for a 'Night Stalker' book, this is not it. However, I do recommend reading any of M.L. Buchman's books and seeing for yourself. I would like to thank the author for gifting me with "Target of Mine" and asking for my honest review. This is mine. 4.25 Stars!

Ignore the stupid cover, this is only a romance in the same way that Walter Scott or Jane Austen wrote romances. The plot is central, the action entwines with the characters, it's just good writing. I binge-read Buchman's military romances when I was percolating my own fictional universe (I write science fiction), and I suspect that's why my characters solve their internal and external problems within the framework of military and exploratory/science. But this author is writing contemporary fiction (without a jingoistic flavor) with heroes(ines) who are decent, honorable warriors. Strong female leads and men who respect/admire that. You'll enjoy it - no matter what genre you usually read.

You know you’re really not into a book when you get to 90% in a story and don’t bother to finish that last measly 10% because you just don’t care how it ends. I used to adore ML Buchanan books, but they just don’t hold my interest these days. The writing has gone downhill, I believe.

Target of Mine is M.L. Buchman’s submission to the Titan World series, an 11 book series written by 11 different authors, based in (or related to) Cristin Harber’s Titan series.

Of the five books of this series that I’ve read so far, this one has been the closest to a Cristin Harber book - and for me, that is completely a compliment!

I have to confess, at first I felt the story was a little slow to get moving. Not in the action sense - no, the story hit the ground running. Which made it hard for me to follow. I’m not a strict “military ops/suspense” genre fan. So when gun types and helicopter names were thrown around, I got a little lost, and wasn’t terribly interested. But I’m glad I stuck with the book, because the interaction of the characters was great. For me, the story got a little bogged down during the technical, military parts - but that’s just because that isn’t something that really interests me. I think this might be a “romance” book even a man might like!

Which brings me to the main characters and their relationship. I’m always curious to see how a male author handles the romantic side of a story, and I think M.L. Buchman did a pretty good job. Because Nikita and Drake have known each other for a while, and have had a mutual attraction, a special mission that pairs them together is the perfect set-up for their relationship to begin. Their interactions were entertaining and filled with action, and with the addition of Jared and Sugar from Titan, I ended up enjoying this book quite a bit.

A couple things that detracted from the greatness of this book (other than all that military talk - which I didn’t hold against the author ‘cause that’s my hang-up and not the author’s fault!)...there were quite a few typos/editing errors. Nothing terrible, but a good proofreader could be used to catch those pesky errors. And I’m sure this is a hazard of stepping into another author’s “world” - but there was a reference to Cash and Nicole. Us die-hard Titan fans know that Cash’s girl is Nicola. But that’s just me being picky, mostly because Cash and Nicola are my favorite couple from that series. I also found myself getting lost frequently during the action scenes, which is probably more because the military genre isn't one that particularly interests me and less because of poor writing on the author's part.

What I learned from this book is that even though I may not like certain parts of a story, it pays to power on through the parts which don’t necessarily interest me. This book may have leaned slightly more on the military suspense genre than I typically like, but had enough romantic relationship to keep me more than interested in finishing the book!

M.L. Buchman presents readers with an action lover's trifecta of bullets, beauty, and boats in this addition to the Night Stalkers series.
This installment pairs the best of SEAL Team 6 with the brightest of Team Night Stalker. To create an action packed and suspense laden romance; worthy of the top notch stars of the military elite, tailor made to take the lead in this most readable adventure.

As the first woman recruited to SEAL Team 6, it is more than safe to say that Nikita Hayward knows a thing or two about defensive maneuvers. But because this mission seems to be just as much about her feminine polish as it is about her prowess with pistols. Let's just say that there are more than just a few aspects of this mission which are serving as game changers for this star defender

Doing double duty, at seeming opposite ends is Nikita's beta on this mission and her alpha pain in the ass, one Drake Roman. Mr. Roman finds himself at opposite ends because, while it may be his mission to support and defend Nikita. His is his personal desire to break down as many of her defenses as he possibly can, and ensure her sensual service under his command forever.

Target Of Mine may not be the first book in this series, but it does prove to be a standout adventure nonetheless. Merging military precision, tactical mindset, and combat excellence with an endearing personal vulnerability. The characters of Drake and Nikita temper the kick ass with equal doses of compassion and passion. As they learn and fight their way through both danger and desire in the wilds of Honduras.

Making this hot pot of Alpha goodness all the more delicious is the addition of a unbeatable supporting cast. Filled with dialogue brimming with snap, snark, sex, and even a chuckle or two.
The way that these characters interact, the lightening fast pacing, and pretzel twist plot ensure that this read is a definite Roger Wilco, for those in the mood to lose themselves to the danger, desire, and duty of Night Stalkers 5E/ Titan World, Target Of Mine.

*This book is one of two parallel series, Titan World and Night Stalker. Though it is strongly recommended that readers read at least one of its preceding novels for background. It is not necessary to do so.*

Titan World.

Wow, what an action packed rollercoaster of a read. I love the main characters, Nikita and Drake, they made an explosive yet wholly believable loving couple. At times I had to go back and read parts again because so much was happening at once. A brilliant read well worthy of the Titan World title.

"I received a free copy of this title from the publisher in exchange for an honest review."

I started reading Target of Mine and was immediately hooked, as always, by M. L. Buchman's new characters. I hadn't yet read Target of the Heart or Target Lock on Love, so I immediately stopped reading Target of Mine so that I could figure out how these characters fit into the Night Stalkers world. What is the 5E? I'd last read about the 5D. Why were these guys so special?

Well, it turns out that the 5E of the Night Stalkers are just as impressive as the Delta Operators or the 5D we've enjoyed reading so much about. This isn't just your typical group of Night Stalker recruits though, they were hand-picked to form the newly created 5E. Connie and Big John make a surprising cameo (which lasts quite a while), and we get to see some SEALs working with the Night Stalkers as well. I truly recommend this 5E spin-off and will be looking forward to them in the future. I would recommend reading them in order though, so that you can get more out of the character building (though it's not absolutely necessary).

In this novel, Buchman also introduces another author's Titan World military contractors. They were not the main characters in this work, but are the initiators for the main plot and kept themselves on the scene throughout. I will definitely be picking up some of the other Titan World books now as well!

Excellent adventure of NightStalkers 5E and the Titan Group, with some SEALs thrown in. Titan is looking to clean up a mess; Jared and Sugar give the assignment to the military. Jared and the commander select Luke Altman, a SEAL Commander, Nikita Hayward, the first female in DEVGRU and Drake Roman of the NightStalkers.

A wild and crazy masquerade, scavenger hunt, manhunt, and role play ensue. It involves high fashion, deadly mercenaries, a super-luxury cruise ship, and a severe tropical storm.

I'd be doing it a disservice if I tried to explain more. Just read it. Buchman has, as usual, nailed the background, the warcraft, and the deadliness of the sniper's accuracy. He has also developed a very playful attitude to the playacting his team does, as well as a good insight to Jared and Sugar.

This is a book from the new Titan World series. This is where series that are alike come together with those of the Titan series, created by Cristin Harber. If you are already familiar with the Titan series, this is going to be a joy for you. If you are as of yet unfamiliar - I am curious, where have you been?

Nikita had met Drake before, when they worked on a mission. After turning him down once, he never tried anything again. She is unsure whether there will be anything in the future for them beyond the flirting they need to do to keep up their cover.

Drake wants Nikita in a way he has never wanted another woman. She is already a very accomplished operator. Now, if they can just stay alive and get past their own selves to take a chance....

This was such an incredible rush of a book to read! Fitting into the Titan World, by not only them and action - there are surprises for the reader with visits from favorite characters. It was heart pounding fun that I felt from page one. I loved watching the characters nearly tumble over themselves for one another!

Target of Mine is fast paced, has good love scenes and some interesting characters. Drake Roman is the lead male role and Nikita Hayward is his beautiful, tough as nails Navy Seal.
Can these two go undercover as lovers and still get the bad guys ?
Titans Jared and Sugar will be some help to the four man team made up of Drake , Nikita, Zoe and Altman. Drake's team is sent out to clean up another one of GSI's disasters. Can this team take down the bad guys and still have some R & R.
I am do hoping Buchman will give Zoe and Altman a story together.
Happy Reading!!!

I received a free copy of this title from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Buchman scores another hit with this riveting story, which is a melding of The Night Stalkers 5E with the Titan characters (Cristin Harber). It was fun to see these two worlds interact and to witness the adjustments on either side.

As always with Buchman's military stories, this is about strong, smart women and the warriors who love them.

(And if you haven't already done so, be sure to read his Night Stalkers series and related Christmas spin-offs!)

I found M.L. Buchman by accident the middle of 2016, specifically the Night Stalkers and started devouring them. When I had a chance to review his books, I was in heaven! I love the series. If you like military, strong women but vulnerable, kicking a** and taking names, along with the men you will be thrilled with this series, and learn things as well. I received this free from the author and volunteered to review. To top it off he has some other series too, woohoo!

Since I have read both the Night Stalkers 5E series and the Titan World series it seemed seamless to have both groups together in one story. It's a very fast read because it's only 120 pages long, but it was quite entertaining.

Nikita and Drake seem to be cut from the same cloth. Two tough nuts that would be hard to crack. Teaming up together on a covert op for Titan shows them they work well together and their growing personal feelings may have a chance of working but does that mean that Drake expects Nikita to give up her position with DEVGRU. Very action packed, loved it.
