A Circular Economy Handbook for Business and Supply Chains is an easily digestible and comprehensive handbook that provides a clear guide to the circular economy, helping the reader create future-fit, sustainable strategies. Real examples across a range of market sectors help businesses, students and policymakers understand the theory and fast-developing practice of the circular economy. To help the reader generate ideas, A Circular Economy Handbook for Business and Supply Chains provides a holistic framework for the design and supply chain and supporting business models, and includes tools the reader can use to get started.
Whilst growing global consumption presents fantastic business opportunities, our current linear systems (take some materials, make a product, use it and then throw it away) are not fit for purpose. The circular economy unlocks this problem by decoupling resources from consumption. Engaged businesses are re-thinking product design, material choices, business models and supply chains. A Circular Economy Handbook for Business and Supply Chains is a must-read for anyone who wants to apply the circular economy today. Online resources now PowerPoint slides of figures and tables from every chapter created by the author.

Many will be familiar with the term “the Circular Economy” but perhaps far fewer will know what it really means. Within the general business and supply chain context the author seeks to give – through this book – practical guidance as to how it works to benefit companies-at-large.
Built around real-world case studies from many well-known companies, theory and good practice are seamlessly mixed in to show how one may migrate from a supply chain to a supply cycle. Just one changed word can make a world of difference. You don’t even need to be deeply entrenched within the supply chain sector to gain great knowledge from this book, although being able to practically implement matters surely would be the icing on the cake.
Of course, there is no one rigid formula to approach to change a chain to a cycle. Each business and industry sector will have differing requirements, even if the headline cycle may appear the same, so different models, trends, requirements and frameworks can be examined and considered through this relatively compact, yet powerful book.
The author has done a good job in making this book accessible to readers on all levels, its open style works with academic references and influences. The reader may, if desired, dig deeper whilst being a light-ish read for everybody else. It manages to cover a lot of information within a few pages to great aplomb.
