My name is Jessamine Baker, and I’m being blackmailed over a terrible sin I can barely remember committing. I wish I could take back what I did that night. Wish I had never gone home with those guys. But I did, and now I’m left trying to forget what happened.
My blackmailers refuse to let me forget, though. And they’re not just your average guys. They belong to a group called The Unveiling and want me to play some sort of game. I know the game can’t be good since the last time I played I blacked out and woke up with blood on my hands.
Not knowing what else to do, I pack up my things and fly back to my hometown where I can be near my brothers and sisters. And Milo.
In high school, Milo and I were extremely close until he told me he loved me and I didn’t say it back. After that, our friendship fell apart.
Despite our rocky past, I trust Milo completely. At least I thought I did. But when he shows up with a guy delivering a message from my blackmailers, I wonder if I can trust anyone.
Volume 1 in The Unveiling Series. Approx. 20,000 words
Jessica Sorensen is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author from the snowy mountains of Wyoming. When she's not writing, she spends her time reading and hanging out with her family.
A novella it is. I like it but not all of it. it didn't lure me enough. Speed it up a bit but not since being a novella within a series. A girl, American living in London, pursuing her dream and also left her family. One day or better one night something happen. That led to this book. everything in this book was a mystery since things changed, one just lead to another one. So what it's that society, that made me though of Nerve (the movie, I'm not sure if the name of the movie, the one from 2016 where they were players and watcher where players earned money from dare) but that mivie but scarier. What about Milo? yes the big question. Milo is the guy, the good guy, the heartbroken guy the protagonist left.
