Gibson’s Legacy #1
Gibson is a rock star with a reputation, it started before he and the band became famous and has followed him into adult hood. Chloe knew him slightly way back, enough to see how he earned said reputation. Though she feels she missed a chance back then she has no intention of becoming another notch to him. Life has been hard for her, a long term relationship has left her with little trust in men. A wrong number phone call hours after beginning a new life gradually sparks something inside her.
Lots of angst and misconceptions make for a bit of a roller coaster of highs and lows for this couple, it is intense and sometimes raw with emotion. Frustration for Gibson in trying to do right by Chloe but at the same time his need for her is overwhelming. For Chloe it is the fear of trusting again, the feeling of not being good enough and of just being someone Gibson wants only until he gets what he wants from all women then him dropping her like all the others.
This is a fast paced read with a good flow throughout, the emotions go through a full range right along with these two characters. Just the sort of read I love, I tend to get lost in the story and suck it all in, I get a lump in my throat when the characters are upset and I find myself clenching my fist when things are tense.
Only draw back is that this isn't a stand alone book it continues into book 2, a bit like KL Shandwick Ready For Flynn Series so you need to be prepared to commit to that before you read. Do I feel its worth doing that? YES I do without hesitation, I enjoyed the other series and this first one in this series doesn't disappoint in any way.
Trusting Gibson #2
This second book in Gibson's series picks up right where book one finished which is awesome, it means no gap and no missing anything. Boy so much anguish and pain in parts of this had me reading with a massive lump in my throat, I do love stories that suck me right in so I just don't hear or see anything else while I'm reading it and this definitely did that. There is so much content and so many different aspects of this couples lives and you just want everything to work out for them, Gibson has a great charm with his cheeky grins and hot looks. But he is honest about his faults and quick to own up when he knows he has done wrong, making him very loveable. He is also very loving and loyal, willing to give everything and protect those he loves to the maximum no matter the cost in money. Chloe has such a vulnerability from being abused by Kace before finding the strength to leave him, now she is trying to get stronger and learn to trust again until the unthinkable happens. The love between these two is strong and the bond they share will hopefully get them through all life chucks in there way. Honestly this series is a serious rival to the Ready For Flynn Series in popularity, it has everything and more that you could want from a romance and is well worth the investment of reading a continuing series. I read and am given a lot of arcs and early read books from authors in return for honest reviews but I am very happy that I actually bought these two books and still happier to give honest reviews for them. KL Shandwick has yet again shone through with her writing and I cant wait for more.

After trying allsorts and having tests Chloe & Gibson are resigned to not having children of their own, but fate steps in.
Piper desperately grieving the loss of her mum is still a minor, just before her mum died however she had a talk with Gibson and Chloe to discuss what would be best for Piper.
Having lost my own mum at a young age and the desperate grief that completely over whelmed me I could really empathise with Piper, my heart was breaking for her. How both Gibson and Chloe handle Piper with understanding and help was so sensitive, being open and honest with her as well as lots of hugs and love was just what she needed. There is another twist though to this story and I felt sad for this loving and supportive couple, glad they stay strong together. Being upfront and honest about their feelings pleased me, it would have spoilt my view of both of them had they changed.
Its a raw and very emotional read, it has a powerful plot that has you in tears one minute and chuckling the next. This is a novella companion to the main series story in the Last Score series, (Gibson's Legacy and Trusting Gibson)of which take place before this, to understand this couple fully I do suggest you read them first. I very much look forward to more, especially Piper's book. I cant wait to read how that goes with Gibson playing a very alpha male protective dad.

Gibson and Chloe’s story in a boxset is just perfect because once you’ve finished reading Gibson’s Legacy you will most definitely head straight for the next book to continue their story. Not realising there was a boxset to purchase I have read the books individually. So here are my reviews showing my thoughts and feelings about both books. I’m certain you’ll enjoy this story too!
Gibson’s Legacy
Gibson’s Legacy is another great Rockstar romance story penned by K.L. Shandwick.
Gibson Barclay has always been a cocky man-whore, even in his club singing days. As the lead singer of the hugely successful band M3rCy, he has access to an endless stream of women who are more than willing to tend to his needs. What I loved about him is that he knows this - it’s the way he has always behaved and he doesn’t shy away from acknowledging his previous behaviour, even when he is trying to impress. I also loved getting to know the real Gibson and seeing him consider how his actions in the past may have affected others. He is frustrated because he wants others to see the real him and not the public image that is portrayed, which I could totally understand. He certainly isn’t the man I originally thought he was going to be and although he could have dealt with certain situations differently, I felt it showed his human side.
Chloe Jenner and Gibson have met before and I enjoyed the way that they were introduced back into each other’s lives. They certainly have a connection and the sexual chemistry is off the charts! Chloe hasn’t had an easy time over the past few years and her story broke my heart. I could see and feel her reluctance to trust others and her hesitation regarding future relationships. She’s young and beautiful and deserves to be happy, and I truly hope that she gains the self-confidence and self-esteem to succeed in all areas of her life.
I love that the story is written in dual POV. Learning the thoughts and feelings of both Gibson and Chloe enhanced the story. However, when I read a book my preference is that the story should always progress and at times some of the scenes in this story were repeated, switching to show the other person’s side of a particular scene using the same dialogue which irked me a little. As I say, this is just the way I like to read and other readers may enjoy gaining a greater insight into a certain situation this way.
I really enjoyed reading Gibson’s Legacy. It certainly isn’t the first book by this author that I have read as she’s a favourite of mine. I am glad I can head straight into the next book in this series, which is Trusting Gibson, as I am intrigued to discover what happens next with Chloe and Gibson.
Trusting Gibson
The title of this book couldn’t be more perfect for this story. Trusting Gibson continues Chloe and Gibson’s journey where Gibson’s Legacy ended and trust is extremely important to Chloe but it is also something that she struggles with. Gibson is a mega famous rock star that every woman wants a piece of and add to the mix how the media often distorts what they publish, then you can imagine that they are probably going to have some bumpy moments along the way.
The first half of the book I felt gave us an insight as to how Chloe and Gibson’s new life together was evolving. The second part was unputdownable as the pace of the book changed and the couple faced situations that was so hard for me to read at times. I felt that the author did a fabulous job of showing us how certain scenes affected both Chloe and Gibson and it was heartbreaking to see them both go through what they did.
I love Gibson but there were times when I didn’t know whether I wanted to hug him or throttle him. I adore Chloe’s strength and determination which she shows an abundance of in this book. They really are perfect for each other. The love that they share and the chemistry between them is undeniable and I loved seeing the couple work to try to overcome the obstacles that kept standing in the way of them finding their HEAs together.
This is another great story from K.L. Shandwick and I’m feeling lucky that I have Gibson’s Melody ready to read as I cannot wait to see what Gibson and Chloe can achieve together.

If you love rock star romance look no further than Gibson’s Legacy (Last Score #1) featuring Gibson, his band and Chloe the girl who falls for the womaniser rockstar. This is the first book in the series and it really is the perfect start to the series and if all the books are as good as this one Ms Shandwick will certainly have a hit on her hands.
Gibson and Chloe met years when Gibson and the band where just a group of friends playing for fun, now seven years on when they reconnect Gibson is the famous rockstar who seems to have found fun as a womanising rocker. Gibson is tired of people thinking they know him, it’s time to show the world the real man behind the bad boy rockstar and Chloe could be the woman to help him. Problem is Chloe has her own issues, hiding from her past and dealing with a traumatic past relationship means this girl could create even bigger issues for Gibson. So will the Chloe be Gibson’s salvation or will Gibson trigger to many memories from the past…..
Gibson’s Legacy touched me on so many levels, this journey tore me apart and it put me back together again, I fell hard and fast for Gibson and my heart broke for Chloe, I loved everything about this book from traveling with the band to their late night groupie visits but it was Gibson and Chloe learning how to build a relationship that took this hook to another level. Great start to the series.

Chloe went through so much with Kace and we are now starting to see her grow stronger, starting to put her trust in Gibson unto the unthinkable happens.
Gibson will do anything for the ones he loves, he knows his faults and he owns up to things he has done wrong but he is still a rockstar and that means fame and parties. So how will he deal with Chloe and her traumatic experience and will he come out the other side when his love is put to the test…..
This is an emotional read that will keep you on the edge of your seat, it’s a story about love, loyalty and passion but more importantly it’s about opening up to your vulnerabilities and learning to trust your feelings. Life is cruel but I believe everything happens for a reason and this book really shows us we can be strong and overcome anything if we believe in ourselves and we have the right person by our side. I was captivated by this journey and I struggled to put my reader down, I needed to know if Chloe and Gibson got the happiness they both deserved. Trusting Gibson has all the feels, I smiled, I cried and at times laughed because this book has the perfect mix of love, passion, humour and angst.
I can’t recommend this book enough, it’s a romance all rockstar lovers need to read.

Gibson's Legacy
There's nothing simple about Gibson Barclay. His irritation at not being seen as a person behind the rockstar persona has him becoming increasingly frustrated with those around him. An extraordinary chance encounter with Chloe, a girl he knew briefly five years ago, has him wishing for more than the rockstar lifestyle. However, their burgeoning relationship is anything but straightforward and misunderstandings abound.
Desperately trying to overcome events from the past, Chloe's lack of self esteem, feelings of being manipulated and her suppositions as to Gibson's motives make for one rollercoaster ride of a story. Well written, this is an angsty, steamy, emotional read. It was great to get inside the heads of both these characters and to understand the reasons behind Chloe's mood swings, even if I did want to sit her down and give her a good talking to! She is a complicated and conflicted young woman, whose understandable fears, given her background, threaten to drive a wedge between them. I can't say I blamed her for some of her assumptions, given Gibson's lifestyle. However, a dramatic event turns things on its head and we see a deeper, more mature side of Gibson as he attempts to be the man not just who Chloe wants but who she needs. He may be a rockstar but this story is about the man behind the music, his thoughts, his passion and his love for the woman fate brought back into his life.

There's nothing simple about Gibson Barclay. His irritation at not being seen as a person behind the rockstar persona has him becoming increasingly frustrated with those around him. An extraordinary chance encounter with Chloe, a girl he knew briefly five years ago, has him wishing for more than the rockstar lifestyle. However, their burgeoning relationship is anything but straightforward and misunderstandings abound.
Desperately trying to overcome events from the past, Chloe's lack of self esteem, feelings of being manipulated and her suppositions as to Gibson's motives make for one rollercoaster ride of a story. Well written, this is an angsty, steamy, emotional read. It was great to get inside the heads of both these characters and to understand the reasons behind Chloe's mood swings, even if I did want to sit her down and give her a good talking to! She is a complicated and conflicted young woman, whose understandable fears, given her background, threaten to drive a wedge between them. I can't say I blamed her for some of her assumptions, given Gibson's lifestyle. An amazing rockstar read! Gibson’s a rockstar that often plays in the bar where Chloe works. Chloe and Gibson are attracted to each other right from the beginning. Chloe has encountered Gibson in compromising situations on several occasions and doesn’t have the best impression of him. Gibson thinks Chloe is innocent and sweet and definitely not the kind of girl he’s used too. They go their separate ways and five years later they reconnect again over a wrong phone call. No spoilers from me!! I absolutely loved this story and highly recommend you give it a read, you won’t be disappointed.

Gibson and Chloe
I read the first two books in this series. May contain mild spoilers. The beginning of this book grabbed my attention. I enjoyed the dual POV at times but that seemed to drag the books out. I felt like I was just rereading the same thing only with a few minor changes when the POV changed. If not for the repetition of scenes this would have been one book I feel. At times it really drug on and I felt myself skimming. Also, I will concur with other reviews about h never really addressing with H about things that he did. He would say "I'm a rock star so this is normal or my friends made me do it or it was the alcohol" and h seemed to be fine with what he did. This book also deals with domestic violence, mental health and self-esteem. I gave this 3 stars for the repetition of chapters, minimal character growth, big storylines being just ok when resolved, the editing and skimming of chapters. I was really pulling for this story with the positive reviews from a blog I follow. Unfortunately it just didn't hit the mark for me.

December 7, 2019Oh wow! I just couldn’t put the Last Score series down. With a lovably imperfect (not to mention HOT!) rock star in Gibson and the awe inspiring fire cracker that is Chloe I loved every twist and turn and bump in the road. KL has done such an incredible job of capturing the reality of some of the uglier experiences in life and she made me really feel every word. I love that you see things from both Chloe and Gibson’s perspective as it helped me to really grasp how differently they see the world and at the same time how their emotions, hopes and dreams mirror almost perfectly.

I loved Gibson he was truly an amazing character...I liked Chloe also but Gibson was my fave. Theirs was a rock star love story. I liked how Gibson was patient and kind to Chloe. There were parts that made my heart hurt for Chloe and then at times I hurt for Gibson. The angst was there but not over the top. I would love to read about Toby and Jill. That one would be a heart breaker.

I Love this series!!! I love the story line and the characters Gibson and Chloe. This is not your typical rock romance and thats why once I started reading it I couldn't put it down ( it made for a lot of late night reading).
This story has all the bells and whistles when it comes to a hot romance, Sexy Man, Beautiful Woman, Happiness, Sadness and don't forget about the Steamy Sex !!! You become a part of the story and that is what makes this series so wonderful. I highly recommend this to everyone. This is a definite MUST Read !!

Wow I love sexy, gorgeous rockstar meets beautiful but slightly damaged girl stories and this one did not disappoint, it had everything you'd expect and more. Gibson, despite his earlier manwhore ways, you couldn't help but love him, and although I warmed to Chloe in the end sometimes she was so frustrating! Definitely a series I will read again.

I absolutely adore this series. The progression of the characters throughout makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. KL Shandwick's consistently brilliant writing makes reading these books so easy that you get lost in the story within minutes. Difficult subject matter is covered and KL does so with complete respect and sensitivity. Overall a beautiful series.
