“Tell me the truth. You like it when I touch you there…” Imagine if you told a lie—a really big lie that could get you into all kinds of trouble. Well, that’s what I did. And the worst part? I lied to the one man you never lie to. My sexy and terrifying billionaire boss, Ashton Carter… When Mr. Carter discovered my deception, he made me a deal. He would let me keep my job. But in return, I had to promise to tell him the truth no matter what he asked me. Then he started asking about things I never imagined telling anyone. Made me admit my deepest, darkest thoughts and desires…including that fact that I wanted him. Now he’s using my own fantasies against me—acting out everything depraved thing I’ve ever dreamed of doing with him. It’s better than I ever imagined, and more terrible than my worst nightmare. Because Ashton Carter is not a nice man. In fact, he’s ice cold. And now he owns me completely.
In general I'm fun of romance with good background story. I'm afraid this a author failed to deliver good story although there is hot and steamy romance. But even that would be much better appreciated if it came with a bit of an effort to create suspense. There is nothing more frustrating and boring to see the female main character so easy, a doormat for her male partner. Yes strong A male is so sexy etc but don't underestimate female and don't make her weak and unimportant. Also sudden change in Ashton behaviour towards Brian in a matter of a day I'm sorry but really doesn't convince the reader. It is also so annoying to read so short books some 40 pages or so. Fortunately I'm KU subscriber otherwise I would certainly not buy it. Unless the author's storyline becomes interesting and main characters, male and female, equally with some depth and true character I'm sorry but I won't join the fun club. I'm a big fun of this type of books but quality first, it's three stars simply because of hot romance nothing else.
It's a well written book and a decent story line with some twists that other similar books do not have. It would probably be a 5 star read for me if it was one whole book and not 4 chapters then a new book.
Ashton and Bria's story continues with two more chapters and then and abrupt stop.... to be continued in book three. I like the story just wish it was an entire book to enjoy instead two chapters at a time.
This review is just me recounting the events of what happened in the book so I can I remember waht I've read.
I suggest not reading this if you don't want to know all the details I'm recounting.
Still got bria & Ashton. They keep on having their fun. He has her doing her secretarily work but now she gets all pissy (even though it's her job, which makes no sense but whatever) & takes his lunch at 2 at a hotel he earlier requested & fumes at him all the while, but before she can leave, he invites her in & they have some fun there. Then everything's going well till the next morning when she comes into the office & sees a pic of them coming from the hotel that morning on her computer screen w/the word whore all over it. Then after some more fun between them, she gets a phone call from some woman that asks if her date w/Ashton later that week is still good for them to go. She hangs up & leaves. He confronts her anger, she tells him, then she storms from the office. Tbc

The second installment of Cold is even better than the first. As things begin to heat up between Ashton and Brian you are given a glimpse of the closely held secrets each is struggling to hide. I can't wait for the next book in this fascinating series.
i am enjoying this series ... but it get really hot & steamy ... & then ends ... what? that is a bit frustrating for me ... would think it would or might be for other readers too? ( ;
