This was the last book in the Seasons series.... I am so happy I decided to take a chance on Jess Michaels work! I have enjoyed this series immensely and I look forward to checking out more of her work!
In all four of these books, they had the perfect balance of romance, sex, and mystery! Throughout the stories there was a bit of suspense and questions that kept me eager for answers! Finally in the end we get all the answers!! Everything came to a head beautifully!

'Adored in Autumn' by Jess Michaels is book is book four in the "Seasons" series. This is the story of Felicity and Asher. This book can be read alone but book three "One Summer of Surrender" did touch some on Felicity story. This book also ends this great series!
Felicity has been in an abusive relationship and is now trying to escape from it. But she is finding things are starting to catch back up to her. Asher was Felicity young girl crush and is now back into her life. Asher started off as a servant's son but with time, education and money he has brought himself up in the world. When Asher meets Felicity again he stays to try to solve her problems.
This was a nice second chance at love story with an additional story of surviving.

Absolutely loved this book. It was the final (I think?) in the series and it was very well wrapped up. I really felt for Felicity and her sad history, and I think the author dealt with this very sensitively. Asher was also an amazing hero, perfect!

Fenici questo romanzo regency inizia con il botto, nel vero senso della parola! Abbiamo la nostra protagonista Felicity ingabbiata in un matrimonio con un uomo che io in genere definisco “bello ma che non balla”, nel senso che l’involucro è il top ma il carattere e i modi di fare sono una merda. La tratta sempre male, è violento e tenta di ucciderla, ma per fortuna lei riuscirà a sparargli, uccidendolo. Grazie ad alcuni servitori che le sono fedeli tutto verrà insabbiato, o almeno così sembra… Qualche anno dopo, per evitare che la notizia trapeli e si diffonda come una macchia d’olio, la famiglia di Felicity chiama in aiuto il suo primo amore Asher, che era sparito dopo una sessione di baci appassionati, eh no caro mio non si fa mica così!
Passione e desiderio si intersecano in continuazione durante tutto il romanzo, dando vita a scene d’amore e di dolcezza che riscalderebbero una teiera di tè in pochi secondi. Le descrizioni sono molto accurate e di certo non adatte alle lettrici più giovani. Il rapporto tra i due protagonisti non si rivela affatto facile perché lei dovrà imparare a fidarsi di nuovo sia di se stessa, dopo che negli ultimi anni si è chiusa tenendosi dentro tutto il dolore e la paura, ma anche degli altri, soprattutto di Asher che già l’ha abbandonata una volta, anche se con dubbi risultati. Asher invece dovrà capire se l’amore che prova per lei è degno di esser vissuto fino in fondo e a discapito di tutto. La trama è molto bella, ci sono uno/due colpi di scena che ribaltano un po’ la situazione e rendono il ritmo ancora più incalzante.
Un libro che leggerete tutto d’un fiato perché sicuramente vorrete sapere come va a finire e soprattutto vi legherete a ognuno dei personaggi grazie all’autrice che riesce a delineare tra le pagine anche le storie dei romanzi precedenti, senza essere pedante o noiosa. Ho adorato entrambi i protagonisti ma soprattutto Asher per il tipo di uomo che è, pur essendo nato “servitore” è nobile nell’animo e nei modi di fare, avrebbe potuto approfittarsi di Felicity senza problemi e invece si è totalmente dedicato a lei in tutti sensi. E non vi nascondo che l’ho amato fin da subito e sono sicura che lo farete anche voi. Di Felicity invece ho apprezzato molto la sua voglia di prendersi tutto ciò che desidera, cosa per l’epoca non affatto scontata, anche se all’inizio lo fa per i motivi sbagliati. Un romanzo che non dovete farvi sfuggire e che sicuramente non vi pentirete di aver acquistato.

Eccoci al gran finale di questa serie historical che mi ha fatto tanta compagnia negli ultimi mesi, e che mi ha portata con tutte le scarpe dentro le storie della nobile famiglia Stanfax. Dopo aver conosciuto superficialmente la storia travagliata della sorella minore Felicity, approfondiamo la sua conoscenza, il suo passato segnato da un marito violento, e soprattutto il suo amore di gioventù, o meglio il suo unico vero amore Asher, figlio di un servitore della tenuta di famiglia. E' proprio Asher, diventato stimato avvocato, a intervenire insieme alla famiglia, per salvare Felicity dalla situazione complicata in cui si trova e dai pericoli che rischiano di rovinarle l'esistenza. L'amore di gioventù dei nostri eroi non si è mai spento, e come spesso accade nei romance di questo tipo, sono stati separati da una serie di forze avverse, ingerenze familiari, differenze sociali. Ma la scintilla scoppia di nuovo ed è irresistibile, Asher e Felicity non sono più dei ragazzini, sono un uomo e una donna con sentimenti profondi e una passione matura, che torna lentamente ma in modo inesorabile, insomma ci troviamo di fronte a un second chance che conquista in ogni senso. Quest'ultimo capitolo della serie è indispensabile secondo me, perchè chiude finalmente i misteri rimasti aperti nei precedenti libri, chiarisce tutti i punti oscuri, è pienissimo d'amore e fa anche finalmente giustizia. Degno finale di una serie che mi è piaciuta tanto e che mi ha riavvicinata a un genere che avevo abbandonato da un pezzo.

Ho appena concluso il quarto volume di questa bellissima serie e ho ancora un nodo alla gola. Jess Michaels, per me, è diventata una certezza: ogni volta riesce a trascinarmi dentro le sue storie e mi fa provare emozioni sempre nuove e fortissime. Felicity è un personaggio che non si dimentica facilmente. Ha sofferto tanto, ma nonostante tutto, non si è mai arresa, e la sua forza mi ha toccata davvero tantissimo. Poi c’è Asher, con un cuore immenso: sarà davvero impossibile non amarlo. La loro storia non è solo passione, ma anche fiducia, paura e coraggio. È vera!
In quest’ultimo volume, le vite di tutti i personaggi precedenti si intrecciano con quella di Felicity e Aher, e tutti i misteri rimasti in sospeso vengono finalmente svelati
La scrittura di quest'autrice è come sempre piacevole, diretta e mai pesante o forzata. Ti ritrovi a pensare “ancora una pagina, poi basta”... e invece le ore volano, senza che ve ne rendiate conto.
Se cercate una storia che vi faccia sentire qualcosa di vero, dovete assolutamente leggere tutta la serie completa. Anzi, vi consiglio di leggere tutti i suoi romanzi tradotti in italiano, perché meritano davvero tantissimo.
I miei complimenti vanno anche alla traduttrice della serie: il lavoro è davvero impeccabile.

L'amore che trionfa e vince le differenze!

Buongiorno amiche lettrici e lettori!
Dopo aver letto un romanzo per ogni stagione ed essermi innamorata delle coppie che si sono create lungo il percorso, ecco che, immersa nelle tinte ambrate tipiche dell’autunno, prende forma un’altra vicenda che sa risvegliare i desideri: l’epilogo della serie Stagioni firmata da Jess Michaels. Ma attenzione, l’autrice non si limita ad accendere i sensi, ma ci trasporta in una trama colma di emozioni, dubbi, intrighi, segreti e misteri, puntando il dito sulle differenze e sulla condizione della donna, priva di diritti. Al di là delle scene sensuali e della maestria narrativa che l’hanno consacrata tra le più apprezzate firme romantiche d’oltreoceano, pulsa un intreccio fitto di nodi: verità celate, menzogne ben architettate, ferite mai rimarginate e speranze che, nonostante tutto, non smettono mai di esistere. Anche se credere nell’impossibile, per Asher e Felicity, non sarà affatto semplice né privo di ostacoli!
Ma chi sono i personaggi e quale legame esiste tra loro? Prendete appunti: Felicity, la figura principale di questa storia, è la sorella di Grayson Grayford e di Lucien, l’attuale Conte di Stenfax, protagonisti rispettivamente del primo e del terzo volume. Chi ha già letto la serie sa che Felicity è la vedova del visconte di Barbridge: affascinante come il sole, ma malvagio come un demone! Sa anche che è una presenza costante nella saga, perchè ha sostenuto i fratelli nelle loro vicende, diventando anche amica delle loro rispettive mogli, Rosalinde ed Elise, e di Celia (sorella di Rosalinde), ora unita in matrimonio con l’ex agente segreto della Corona, John Dane. In realtà, Elise è sempre stata la sua migliore amica, fin da quando erano tutti bambini.
Elise, Felicity, Gray, Lucien e Asher, il figlio del valletto del padre, (l’allora Conte di Stenfax), trascorrevano le giornate insieme nella tenuta, e la giovane protagonista, ha sempre nutrito un sentimento speciale per questo ragazzino bellissimo e molto attento a lei. Un’emozione che si è rivelata apertamente la sera del suo debutto in società, quando, trascinata all'ombra sulla terrazza, ha ricevuto il suo primo bacio, proprio dall’unico ragazzo che aveva sempre sentito come suo… e che, nel suo cuore, lo sarebbe rimasto per sempre. Peccato che il giorno dopo, Asher sia scomparso senza nemmeno un saluto! E’ partito per studiare legge, lasciando la ragazza distrutta, senza una spiegazione e priva di ogni speranza. Il motivo? Lo leggerete, perchè questo è uno dei tanti misteri che verrà rivelato nel corso della narrazione.
Ancora una volta, come accaduto per John Dane e Celia, la differenza di estrazione sociale giocherà un ruolo determinante in questa storia, ma come se non bastasse, si aggiunge il tormento di un passato doloroso che ha segnato profondamente Felicity, protagonista di un gesto estremo, che torna a mostrare il suo volto minaccioso, proiettando nel futuro degli strascichi tanto subdoli quanto pericolosi, che rischiano di gettare l’intera famiglia e le persone più amate in pasto allo scandalo. Proprio ora che Gray, Lucien e i loro amici più fidati hanno finalmente trovato stabilità nei sentimenti, tutti accanto al grande amore della loro vita, ma soprattutto, aver trovato la pace, dopo aver lavorato duramente per ricostruire fondamenta economiche solide, salvando così il loro casato dal tracollo!
Anche in quest’ultimo capitolo sono numerosi i personaggi che si avvicendano sulla scena, ognuno con un ruolo preciso e un compito da svolgere; presenze rilevanti e che entrano all’interno della narrazione, in maniera molto più incisiva rispetto agli episodi passati, tanto da conferire al romanzo una struttura decisamente corale.
Ma sono soprattutto i protagonisti Asher e Felicity, a essere i più sofferenti, intrappolati in un passato capace di annientare ogni possibilità, mentre il cuore viene trafitto e tormentato dai ricordi di quel legame tanto speciale nato nei primi anni, ma che non ha potuto crescere e svilupparsi. Fin da bambini erano sempre insieme, cuore nel cuore, a rincorrersi con lo sguardo, ad amarsi quando ancora non conoscevano il significato dell’amore. A cercarsi nel buio, in quell’unica notte in cui si sono scambiati un bacio colmo di promesse, desiderio, fame di sentimento e determinazione nel voler superare qualunque ostacolo. Eppure, tutto si e frantumato. Si è rivelato un sogno fin troppo fragile, presto dissolto nel giro di poche ore, lasciando dietro di sé un vuoto incolmabile: la rabbia di Asher, per non essere nato in un'altra situazione, insieme alla delusione feroce di Felicity, una nostalgia e un tormento che non hanno mai perso intensità, e che ha fagocitato entrambi, nonostante siano trascorsi sei anni… nonostante nelle loro vite sia accaduto di tutto, soprattutto eventi dolorosi per quanto riguarda la giovane protagonista.
Una donna che ha perso fiducia nell’amore e negli uomini, perché alla delusione patita, per aver confidato nel suo grande amore, ed essere stata delusa, si è aggiunta la beffa di aver creduto che l'abito potesse fare il monaco e la nobiltà dei natali, fosse sufficiente per scongiurare la possibilità di unirsi a un mostro…e invece non è stato così. Rabbia, delusione, terrore, paura, angoscia e tormento, questa è stata la sua vita per due anni e poi?… E poi la fine di tutto e l’inizio dell’incubo, di un segreto da nascondere, di una bugia da celare, di un solco nell’anima che non se ne andrà mai!
Una recensione che faccio fatica a scrivere, dove il rischio di spoilerare è alto, poiché questa serie, pur essendo composta da volumi autoconclusivi e indipendenti, è legata da un enigma che affiora già nel primo libro, per poi intrecciarsi ad altri complotti, macchinazioni e minacce che seguono da un romanzo a quello successivo, per dare il via a una corsa continua verso la verità e la risoluzione di ogni nodo, fino a raggiungere l���ultimo libro, dove tutto viene finalmente rivelato nella sua completezza e complessità.
Una cosa è certa: ci sono personaggi particolarmente meschini e pericolosi, affiancati da figure altrettanto subdole, capaci di mettere seriamente in difficoltà i protagonisti maschili della serie, i quali saranno costretti a guardare il pericolo dritto negli occhi e a mettere in gioco tutte le loro abilità per proteggere la serenità di chi amano e costruire un futuro sicuro. Per fortuna il bandolo della matassa che rischiava di far crollare un’intera famiglia unita e armoniosa, viene finalmente accerchiato ed eliminato, grazie alla prontezza di John Dane, ex spia della Corona, e di Asher che essendo avvocato, dimostrerà grande competenza nel seguire le tracce dei flussi di denaro, ma anche coraggio e astuzia nell’agire di persona, per braccare chi possiede ciò che prova una verità che vuole usare a suo beneficio. Ma a contribuire in modo decisivo, è anche l’intuito di Felicity, astuta e brillante, sebbene talvolta incline a concedere una coscienza a chi, non ne possiede affatto!
Un romanzo che chiude degnamente il cerchio, in cui l’autrice, ancora una volta, mette in mostra la sua abilità nel mantenere ben saldo il controllo di un intreccio articolato, scandendo il mistero per tappe e intrecciando gli eventi alle storie d’amore che, di volta in volta, si sono susseguite: intense, romantiche e passionali, sempre equilibrate e mai predominanti rispetto a quelle situazioni che hanno alimentato il giusto livello di suspense. Una linea narrativa costante che ha reso questa serie avvincente e coinvolgente.
La scrittura risulta scorrevole e piacevole, anche se, forse, in questa occasione, il continuo soffermarsi sui dubbi e sulle difficoltà interiori di Felicity ha leggermente rallentato il ritmo. Tuttavia, questo piccolo neo, è ampiamente compensato dalla sensibilità con cui l’autrice affronta alcune tematiche e sfumature della vicenda, dove entrano in gioco fiducia, controllo e abbandono, non solo tra le lenzuola, ma come riflesso concreto dei sentimenti e delle intenzioni dei protagonisti.
Cosa dire di Asher? Un personaggio splendido: un uomo capace di esserci sempre, generoso e attento ai bisogni degli altri, ma soprattutto pronto a mettere in secondo piano i propri desideri per il bene della donna che ama. Da sottolineare anche la pregevole traduzione di Isabella Nanni, che riesce a valorizzare la prosa dell’autrice, trasmettendo a noi lettori l’intensità delle emozioni e della passione che prende vita in ogni romanzo di Jess Michaels.
Un libro che consiglio per la profondità dei sentimenti e per quegli intrecci che regalano il giusto tocco di mistero, quella suspense tanto amata e capace di rendere ogni storia intrigante e avvincente! Non solo passione ma molto di più! Buona lettura e alla prossima!

Anche se credere nell’impossibile, per Asher e Felicity, non sarà affatto semplice né privo di ostacoli!
Ma chi sono i personaggi e quale legame esiste tra loro? Prendete appunti: Felicity, la figura principale di questa storia, è la sorella di Grayson Grayford e di Lucien, l’attuale Conte di Stenfax, protagonisti rispettivamente del primo e del terzo volume. Chi ha già letto la serie sa che Felicity è la vedova del visconte di Barbridge: affascinante come il sole, ma malvagio come un demone! Sa anche che è una presenza costante nella saga, perchè ha sostenuto i fratelli nelle loro vicende, diventando anche amica delle loro rispettive mogli, Rosalinde ed Elise, e di Celia (sorella di Rosalinde), ora unita in matrimonio con l’ex agente segreto della Corona, John Dane. In realtà, Elise è sempre stata la sua migliore amica, fin da quando erano tutti bambini.
Elise, Felicity, Gray, Lucien e Asher, il figlio del valletto del padre, (l’allora Conte di Stenfax), trascorrevano le giornate insieme nella tenuta, e la giovane protagonista, ha sempre nutrito un sentimento speciale per questo ragazzino bellissimo e molto attento a lei. Un’emozione che si è rivelata apertamente la sera del suo debutto in società, quando, trascinata all'ombra sulla terrazza, ha ricevuto il suo primo bacio, proprio dall’unico ragazzo che aveva sempre sentito come suo… e che, nel suo cuore, lo sarebbe rimasto per sempre. Peccato che il giorno dopo, Asher sia scomparso senza nemmeno un saluto! E’ partito per studiare legge, lasciando la ragazza distrutta, senza una spiegazione e priva di ogni speranza. Il motivo? Lo leggerete, perchè questo è uno dei tanti misteri che verrà rivelato nel corso della narrazione.
Ancora una volta, come accaduto per John Dane e Celia, la differenza di estrazione sociale giocherà un ruolo determinante in questa storia, ma come se non bastasse, si aggiunge il tormento di un passato doloroso che ha segnato profondamente Felicity, protagonista di un gesto estremo, che torna a mostrare il suo volto minaccioso, proiettando nel futuro degli strascichi tanto subdoli quanto pericolosi, che rischiano di gettare l’intera famiglia e le persone più amate in pasto allo scandalo. Proprio ora che Gray, Lucien e i loro amici più fidati hanno finalmente trovato stabilità nei sentimenti, tutti accanto al grande amore della loro vita, ma soprattutto, aver trovato la pace, dopo aver lavorato duramente per ricostruire fondamenta economiche solide, salvando così il loro casato dal tracollo!
Anche in quest’ultimo capitolo sono numerosi i personaggi che si avvicendano sulla scena, ognuno con un ruolo preciso e un compito da svolgere; presenze rilevanti e che entrano all’interno della narrazione, in maniera molto più incisiva rispetto agli episodi passati, tanto da conferire al romanzo una struttura decisamente corale.
Ma sono soprattutto i protagonisti Asher e Felicity, a essere i più sofferenti, intrappolati in un passato capace di annientare ogni possibilità, mentre il cuore viene trafitto e tormentato dai ricordi di quel legame tanto speciale nato nei primi anni, ma che non ha potuto crescere e svilupparsi. Fin da bambini erano sempre insieme, cuore nel cuore, a rincorrersi con lo sguardo, ad amarsi quando ancora non conoscevano il significato dell’amore. A cercarsi nel buio, in quell’unica notte in cui si sono scambiati un bacio colmo di promesse, desiderio, fame di sentimento e determinazione nel voler superare qualunque ostacolo. Eppure, tutto si e frantumato. Si è rivelato un sogno fin troppo fragile, presto dissolto nel giro di poche ore, lasciando dietro di sé un vuoto incolmabile: la rabbia di Asher, per non essere nato in un'altra situazione, insieme alla delusione feroce di Felicity, una nostalgia e un tormento che non hanno mai perso intensità, e che ha fagocitato entrambi, nonostante siano trascorsi sei anni… nonostante nelle loro vite sia accaduto di tutto, soprattutto eventi dolorosi per quanto riguarda la giovane protagonista.
Una donna che ha perso fiducia nell’amore e negli uomini, perché alla delusione patita, per aver confidato nel suo grande amore, ed essere stata delusa, si è aggiunta la beffa di aver creduto che l'abito potesse fare il monaco e la nobiltà dei natali, fosse sufficiente per scongiurare la possibilità di unirsi a un mostro…e invece non è stato così. Rabbia, delusione, terrore, paura, angoscia e tormento, questa è stata la sua vita per due anni e poi?… E poi la fine di tutto e l’inizio dell’incubo, di un segreto da nascondere, di una bugia da celare, di un solco nell’anima che non se ne andrà mai!
Una recensione che faccio fatica a scrivere, dove il rischio di spoilerare è alto, poiché questa serie, pur essendo composta da volumi autoconclusivi e indipendenti, è legata da un enigma che affiora già nel primo libro, per poi intrecciarsi ad altri complotti, macchinazioni e minacce che seguono da un romanzo a quello successivo, per dare il via a una corsa continua verso la verità e la risoluzione di ogni nodo, fino a raggiungere l���ultimo libro, dove tutto viene finalmente rivelato nella sua completezza e complessità.
Una cosa è certa: ci sono personaggi particolarmente meschini e pericolosi, affiancati da figure altrettanto subdole, capaci di mettere seriamente in difficoltà i protagonisti maschili della serie, i quali saranno costretti a guardare il pericolo dritto negli occhi e a mettere in gioco tutte le loro abilità per proteggere la serenità di chi amano e costruire un futuro sicuro. Per fortuna il bandolo della matassa che rischiava di far crollare un’intera famiglia unita e armoniosa, viene finalmente accerchiato ed eliminato, grazie alla prontezza di John Dane, ex spia della Corona, e di Asher che essendo avvocato, dimostrerà grande competenza nel seguire le tracce dei flussi di denaro, ma anche coraggio e astuzia nell’agire di persona, per braccare chi possiede ciò che prova una verità che vuole usare a suo beneficio. Ma a contribuire in modo decisivo, è anche l’intuito di Felicity, astuta e brillante, sebbene talvolta incline a concedere una coscienza a chi, non ne possiede affatto!
Un romanzo che chiude degnamente il cerchio, in cui l’autrice, ancora una volta, mette in mostra la sua abilità nel mantenere ben saldo il controllo di un intreccio articolato, scandendo il mistero per tappe e intrecciando gli eventi alle storie d’amore che, di volta in volta, si sono susseguite: intense, romantiche e passionali, sempre equilibrate e mai predominanti rispetto a quelle situazioni che hanno alimentato il giusto livello di suspense. Una linea narrativa costante che ha reso questa serie avvincente e coinvolgente.
La scrittura risulta scorrevole e piacevole, anche se, forse, in questa occasione, il continuo soffermarsi sui dubbi e sulle difficoltà interiori di Felicity ha leggermente rallentato il ritmo. Tuttavia, questo piccolo neo, è ampiamente compensato dalla sensibilità con cui l’autrice affronta alcune tematiche e sfumature della vicenda, dove entrano in gioco fiducia, controllo e abbandono, non solo tra le lenzuola, ma come riflesso concreto dei sentimenti e delle intenzioni dei protagonisti.
Cosa dire di Asher? Un personaggio splendido: un uomo capace di esserci sempre, generoso e attento ai bisogni degli altri, ma soprattutto pronto a mettere in secondo piano i propri desideri per il bene della donna che ama. Da sottolineare anche la pregevole traduzione di Isabella Nanni, che riesce a valorizzare la prosa dell’autrice, trasmettendo a noi lettori l’intensità delle emozioni e della passione che prende vita in ogni romanzo di Jess Michaels.
Un libro che consiglio per la profondità dei sentimenti e per quegli intrecci che regalano il giusto tocco di mistero, quella suspense tanto amata e capace di rendere ogni storia intrigante e avvincente! Non solo passione ma molto di più! Buona lettura e alla prossima!

FINAL DECISION: I love the cross-class story where the man is of the lower class. Here, there was a bit of angst, a bit of drama and I really liked that the characters knew the value of characters over title or privilege.
THE STORY: Felicity, Viscountess Barbridge, killed her abusive husband in self-defense. Now her secret is in the hands of her family's enemy. In order to track down the potential blackmailer, her brothers call in Asher Seyton, solicitor and financial advisor, to help with the financial investigation. Asher is the son of a servant and grew up with Felicity and her brother. Asher broke Felicity's heart when after a kiss, he left her. Now Felicity and Asher have to face their long ago feelings and the current threat on Felicity's future.
OPINION: I love books with cross-class romances -- especially ones where the man is of a lower class because it upends the normal trope. Here, Felicity is an aristocratic woman, the daughter of an earl and Asher is the son of her father's valet. The two were children together and friends (along with Felicity's two older brothers). As Felicity grew up, however, an attraction grew between Felicity and Asher. At her debut six years ago, the two had their first and last kiss as Asher left the next day. Felicity married the Viscount who beat and abused her. Now Asher has returned at Felicity brother's request because Felicity is in danger.
In the prior book in the series, an enemy of the family has found out that Felicity killed her abusive husband in self-defense. The potential blackmailer must be tracked down before the secret is revealed, ruining Felicity and her family. This plot moves the story along, but the center of this book is the romance between Felicity and Asher.
Felicity is a woman who has closed herself off after her horrible marriage. Fear, disappointment, lack of trust in herself and others dominate her life now. When Asher returns, Felicity begins to feel again and wonders if she can at least have a sexual relationship free from fear.
Asher and Felicity are good people who got torn apart by their class differences. Asher feels keenly the class differences. I thought this book did a really good job of showing that even if Felicity *thinks* that the two of them were always equal, Asher's reality was something different.
There is something very sweet and gentle about these characters together and yet their is definite heat in their relationship. I liked these characters quite a bit and the story is not dark or angst filled but rather is about two people working their way through past obstacles and finding a future together.
This is an enjoyable read and a fine conclusion to series as it wraps up the ongoing storylines and gives readers a look at all the characters coming together and solving the mysteries that have arisen.
WORTH MENTIONING: Everyone gets what they deserve in the end.
CONNECTED BOOKS: ADORED IN AUTUMN is the fourth and final book in the Seasons series. The romance in this book is self contained by there are continuing storylines that depend upon the prior books in the series.

Somewhat wallpaper in its historical context: Ladies at the time were discouraged from masturbating; not to mention that if her husband was so abusive, she would not know what an orgasm was, let alone be interested in giving herself one. The author should stick to contemporaries.

Adored in Autumn is book 4 and the final book in the Seasons series. This is a very tightly interwoven series of books and are best enjoyed in order starting with book 1. Honestly, I would not recommend these as stand-alone books. Each book does have a happily ever after, and no cliffhangers, but there are loose ends throughout the series that don't get wrapped up until book 4.
The end of book 3 sets up the story of Felicity, Lady Barbridge, and her reunion with Asher Seyton. In book 4, Asher comes to the aid of the Danford family at the request of the Earl of Stenfax, specifically to help trace the money that is being exchanged for the coded secrets contained in the elusive book they seek.
But Asher's reunion with Felicity is bittersweet. Seeing him again is heartbreaking to Felicity since he walked away from her years ago. As the son of a servant, he had a duty but at the same time he was given leave to be a child and spend time with Lucien, Gray, Elise, and Felicity. Ultimately, he and Felicity had growing feelings for each other that became thwarted by their class differences. But fate has brought them back under the same roof, with Asher now a successful solicitor (and still serving the upper class), and Felicity is a wealthy widow and a viscountess to boot. Can Asher allow himself to be welcomed into the family that turned him out? Will Felicity allow her true feelings to lead her heart? Will Asher take the advice of John Dane, a man who knows better than anyone about deserving love and protecting it at all costs?
I really enjoyed this book but it was more because it wrapped up the series nicely and tied up all those loose ends, including the mystery of Rosalinde and Celia's father, and the discovery of the book of coded secrets that threatens Felicity and the Danford clan. We also learn why Asher was sent away after he and Felicity shared a kiss at her come-out ball. Asher's father and Felicity's mother also had roles in all of these secrets that finally come to light. My one issue with this series is that there is a general shortage of actual romance. Felicity is still in love with Asher, and Asher has never stopped loving Felicity, but their steamy moments together were for the wrong reasons, and Asher knew it. So does the reader, so for me, it kinda ruined what should have been beautiful, happy reunion moments. Instead there was anger, resentment, and they spend so much time not telling each other how they really feel even though everyone else sees it.
The author weaves very good stories in this series and I do look forward to reading more by Jess Michaels. I give this book 4 stars. It would have been 3 for lack of real romance, but I loved how everything came together in the end, and everyone gets what they truly deserve, good and bad. Steam level is a 3.

Adorata in Autunno è il quarto e ultimo volume della sua serie Stagioni, e tratta alcuni temi che amo molto nel romance storico: il superamento dei traumi, le seconde possibilità e le differenze sociali.
La protagonista è Felicity, sorella di Stenfax, una donna che ha sopportato un matrimonio violento. La sua sopravvivenza è stata ottenuta a caro prezzo, attraverso una scelta disperata che ora minaccia di distruggere la sua nuova quiete.
A tornare nella sua vita è Asher Seyton, l'uomo che era stato il suo primo e proibito amore adolescenziale. Figlio di un servitore, ha studiato duramente e ha migliorato la sua posizione sociale, diventando uno stimato avvocato. Torna nella tenuta della sua infanzia per aiutare la famiglia di Felicity con una delicata questione finanziaria, ma presto si ritrova a doverla proteggere dal suo segreto. Ho amato molto entrambi i protagonisti: Felicity, donna forte ma ferita, simbolo delle donne vessate e vittime di violenza che però rinascono come Fenici con grande forza. Asher, uomo delicato e forte insieme, generoso e sensibile. La storia non è quella della riscoperta di un legame ma il riaccendersi di un amore mai veramente sopito.
Il romanzo presenta diverse scene ad alto tasso di sensualità, tipiche della Michaels, ma la vera forza del libro risiede nella profondità emotiva.
Felicity dovrà imparare a fidarsi di nuovo. Dopo anni passati a nascondere il dolore e la paura, il cammino verso la condivisione e l'accettazione dell'amore è complesso e toccante.

La Michaels usa questo segreto in modo efficace per legare i due protagonisti: il loro amore non può fiorire finché la minaccia non viene eliminata, e l'unica via per l'eliminazione è la completa unione di intenti e la collaborazione tra loro.
È stato bello ritrovare i protagonisti dei libri precedenti, tutti di supporto a Felicity e alla risoluzione del dramma. Ottime come sempre le descrizioni degli usi e costumi nonché degli ambienti così come sempre perfettamente adeguate sono la traduzione e le scelte lessicali. Ormai autrice e traduttrice si conoscono bene e ne nasce sempre un romanzo perfettamente aderente alle intenzioni stilistiche originali. È particolarmente consigliato a chi cerca una storia di riscatto, con protagonisti adulti e feriti e una conclusione perfetta che celebra la forza dei legami familiari.

Ottime come sempre le descrizioni degli usi e costumi nonché degli ambienti così come sempre perfettamente adeguate sono la traduzione e le scelte lessicali. Ormai autrice e traduttrice si conoscono bene e ne nasce sempre un romanzo perfettamente aderente alle intenzioni stilistiche originali. È particolarmente consigliato a chi cerca una storia di riscatto, con protagonisti adulti e feriti e una conclusione perfetta che celebra la forza dei legami familiari.

L’autrice ci regala un finale che parla di rinascita, di seconde possibilità e di amori che non si dimenticano, anche quando la vita — e il dolore — ti cambiano per sempre.
Ho amato ogni volume della serie Le Stagioni, ma qui c’è qualcosa di diverso. Forse perché conoscevo già Felicity. Dietro la grazia e la compostezza della viscontessa si nasconde una donna ferita, sopravvissuta a un matrimonio crudele, che porta addosso cicatrici profonde ma non si arrende.
L’autrice la tratteggia con una sensibilità rara, Felicity è fragile e forte allo stesso tempo, piena di dignità, paura e desiderio.
E poi c’è Asher Seyton, figlio del valletto della famiglia, cresciuto accanto a lei ma diviso da quel muro invisibile fatto di classi sociali e convenzioni.Tornare nella casa del suo passato significa ritrovare Felicity, ma anche tutto ciò da cui aveva cercato di scappare.
Felicity e Asher mi hanno letteralmente catturata — due anime divise dal tempo, dal dolore e dalle convenzioni, che imparano di nuovo a guardarsi e a fidarsi. Ultimo capitolo della serie "Stagioni" di Jess Michaels. Anche se fa parte di una serie può essere letto come storia a sé stante.
Asher Seyton è stato il primo amore di
Felicity, dopo quel primo bacio al chiaro di luna sulla terrazza della sua abitazione la lascia senza una spiegazione. Sarà costretta a prendere una decisione che la porterà dritta tra le mani di un mostro. Il suo non è stato un matrimonio felice l'uomo che aveva sposato si era rivelato violento e crudele. Le scelte disperate che è stata costretta a compiere sono le stesse che le hanno salvato la vita e che anni dopo tornano a perseguitarla.
Asher nonostante la profonda amicizia e il forte sentimento che prova per Felicity sa di essere soltanto il figlio di un servitore e che non potrà mai essere alla sua altezza.
Anni dopo ha migliorato la sua posizione sociale e ora è uno stimato avvocato. Sarà costretto a fare ritorno nella casa della sua infanzia per aiutare Felicity e i suoi fratelli a risolvere una questione molto delicata che rischia di compromettere il buon nome della famiglia.

Adored in Autumn, Book 4 in the Seasons series, was about the widowed Viscountess Felicity Barbridge (sister to both Lord Lucien Danford, the Earl of Stenfax, and Mr. Grayson Danford), and Mr. Asher Seyton, their childhood friend and son to their late father's valet, who had become a respected solicitor.
Having survived two hellish years married to Erasmus, the Viscount Barbridge, his death freed her from further abuse. However, she was now in danger of someone threatening to reveal certain secrets that, until recently, not even her brothers knew about.
When Lucien sent for Asher to assist in unraveling secrets held by Elise's late husband, it brought Asher and Felicity together for the first time in six years. Both were wary of meeting again, but both knew of the necessity of bringing the danger to an end.
The story was well written, the characters were better developed...or maybe more fully developed...than in the previous books. Perhaps that's because, since this book was a completion of all the books combined, the author was finally able to completely flesh out each character to their fullest potential.
The drama and the angst were in high gear from start to finish, but there was just enough humor to ease the tension a bit. The chemistry and attraction between Asher and Felicity were apparent from the moment they met again and didn't let up until the end of the book.
There were times that the book became frustrating...such as when Felicity's character called her late husband an EARL when, in fact, he had been a Viscount. Shouldn't author's be able to keep up with their own characters' titles? Also, there was a tremendous amount of redundancy throughout the story, "FREE" to speak FREELY", etc. It got a bit annoying after a while.
As this book was the culmination of all the previous books, it was an excellent ending to the series. It still only earned less than a five-star rating and, like the other three, it won't be added to the Keeper for the Shelves collection. But at least it was not another cliffhanger.

Torno allo storico con Jess Michaels, un'autrice dalla penna peperina e piccante, nonostante si muova nella Londra del Bon -Ton.
Nei suoi romanzi tocca sempre temi sensibili con molta delicatezza e pur non entrando troppo nei dettagli riesce a far arrivare al lettore tutto lo strazio e la drammaticità degli eventi. Altro elemento essenziale la famiglia, quella che si costruisce con legami di onore e amicizia e non solo quella data dal sangue.
Nei suoi romanzi ci sono sempre gruppi, club di donne forti e uniche e di uomini straordinari, il cui valore è dato dalla purezza del cuore, dai comportamenti più che dal cognome che portano o dal rango.
Ultimo per caso e non per importanza il mistero: nelle sue serie c'è sempre un caso da risolvere che introduce nel primo libro e si risolve nell' ultimo.
Elementi che si ritrovano anche in questo romanzo e nella serie.
Quando la viscontessa Felicity Barbridge si trova in guai molto grossi, che potrebbero travolgere la sua famiglia, i fratelli convocano l'amico di infanzia, figlio di un loro servitore, ora diventato avvocato: Asher Seyton. Un legame speciale si era creato fra Felicity ed Asher, un legame che era stato spezzato, ma non superato. Asher corre e non si tira indietro, pronto a mettere in gioco la sua stessa vita per la donna padrona del suo cuore, pur sapendo che per loro non c'è futuro.
Nel capitolo conclusivo della serie “Le Stagioni” l'autrice unisce abilmente sensualità, dolore, speranza e redenzione. La storia di Felicity e Asher è avvincente e ben costruita: tra passato da affrontare, passione da esplorare e fiducia da riconquistare. La Michaels dimostra ancora una volta la sua duttilità nel trattare temi forti senza perdere la vena romantica.
Una storia per chi ama i romance storici con protagonisti segnati dal passato, con divisioni sociali e second chance di grande impatto emotivo. Perfetto per un pomeriggio d’autunno col plaid e una cioccolata calda, e se possibile davanti al camino.

I seem to be on a Jess Michaels streak.
This one was less enjoyable than the last, but an interesting plot. However, since I hadn't read the first three books I was thoroughly confused in the beginning.
This is me in the first few chapters trying to figure out who is who. I had to keep going back to the blurb to remind myself who the MC's were.
Then I spent a lot of time reading the other books blurbs to find out why is everyone so angry/sad/happy/turned on. All at the same time.
It's an emotional orgy.
The characters are nice, the writing decent - I particularly like how the author dealt with the concept of trust and giving up control for a person with an abusive past - but the plot drains after a while. Also the stretching of the main point of contention between the MC's doesn't add to the angst but just irritates. For me, there is too much drama in the form of other characters - too much crying, too much gasping, too many family secrets, too much sudden hand holding of partners right before hearing bad news because apparently we'll collapse into a heaping mess, too much weeping.
Like really. too much.
At one point the four women all hold hands, hug and weep together. I know it was meant to show their solidarity but there are other ways to do that. This is just easier.
Ok rant over. Overall enjoyable book, but I'd suggest read the others first so you won't have whiplash.

Adored in Autumn is the fourth and final book in the Seasons series. Prologue set in 1808. The story happens in 1811 with an Epilogue at Christmas time. This erotic historical romance is thorough and lovely. Mainly because it’s supported nicely by secondary characters from the previous three stories, and all loose ends affecting all characters are tied up succinctly by the Epilogue.

But he elevated himself through an offered education and became a respected solicitor. He returns to the home where he spent his childhood years in response to a summons from Lucien, the new Earl of Stenfax.
Luckily, this book had the least of all typos in the series. (Taking instead of talking, Them instead of that, Then instead of than, No instead of not)
I highly recommend this book. I highly recommend this series.

Pues me ha gustado mucho. Le he puesto cinco estrellas porque es lo que se merece esta serie en general.
Felicity es una mujer que tuvo un matrimonio horrible. Aquí se conoce un poco más y te pone los pelos de punta. Tiene algunos descubrimientos que no me los esperaba y en general es una trama muy bien llevada.
Asher es el hijo de un antiguo sirviente, que era compañero de juegos de Stenfax, Gray y Felicity cuando eran niños. A pesar de llevar años sin verse esa amistad perdura. Contactan con él para seguir el rastro del dinero que les puede ayudar a salvar a Felicity y a toda la familia de la ruina social.
En sí es una historia de segundas oportunidades. Ambos son distintos y aunque Felicity es la que más ha sufrido, ambos se merecen su final feliz.
Aquí se resuelven todas las dudas de los libros anteriores y se descubre quién es el padre de Rosamund y de Celia.
Me ha gustado mucho este libro la verdad, no esperaba que me gustara tanto.

The plot was intriguing and fun to follow. But, I don’t think I have ever groaned this many times at a heroine. I understand she has been through a lot but, her constant fear is depressing. Not once did she smile or have a good time. Even sex didn’t seem to make her happy. A couple reviewers called her strong, but I saw no evidence, she was constantly afraid of things she couldn’t control, and let her attitude effect everyone around her. Lucien was a supportive hero, but rather boring. The author tied up some lose ends, that I really wasn’t interested in, so I skimmed the last couple of chapters. I have read several of Jess Michaels books and I recommend her to fans of the genre who aren’t looking for anything truly original or life altering. This book was my least favorite in the series. WARNING: there is sex in this book, it is not erotica, but enough to be a steamy & hot adult romance. Please do not read if you are looking for something PG. Second chance romances are not often my favorites to read and this is a good example of why. They wanted to be together but went their separate ways for legit reasons but then they meet again years later and it takes SO LONG for them to finally admit their feelings and be together. Several repetitive conversations about reasons why they can't be together, their past, what they want currently, and it all annoys me cuz you know it's gonna happen so make it happen! This family is super connected to each other and it makes a nice pretty bow of an ending so plus there. Still hard to be interested in this story vs others so it took awhile to even start.

Finalmente siamo arrivati all'ultimo capitolo della serie " le stagioni" , lo aspettavo con ansia.
Mi è piaciuto come gli eventi si siano intrecciati e poi pian piano abbiano preso forma e avuto una conclusione. La storia è intrigante, la lettura scorrevole e ti tiene legata alle pagine.
Interessante l'idea principale che tiene legati insieme i 4 libri della serie, complimenti all'autrice 😍
Ho adorato Asher fin da subito e finalmente anche Felicity ha avuto la sua rivalsa, mostrandoci la donna forte nascosta sotto quella infinita tristezza.

This story was just so boring. Everyone was so nice and too understanding and forgiving and ultimately annoying as hell. None of the characters felt like real people, they were all carbon copies of each other. I couldn’t tell any of the female characters apart. Like yes this is fiction but everything just felt so fake. The way everything was resolved too neatly with everyone reconciling so quickly is actually insulting to my intelligence.

i have mixed feelings about this books, for the main couple itself i will give the book 2.5 stars, i couldnt get into it intially, (maybe the age gap might have put me off ) though i did enjoy the characters. For the sibling relationships in the book I will give it a 4 stars, so I am rounding it down & giving the book 3 stars.

Happy endings
I suppose this could be read as a standalone but it would be better to read it as part of the series. Everything is neatly wrapped up and Felicity gets her HEA. Mysteries are solved, danger is conquered and there is plenty of heat. Everyone from the previous books is part of this story.

Don’t get me wrong, I actually really liked this, I was just hoping for some focus on Felicity’s healing, and it’s not really there. The suspense plot dominates, and the angst just falls away for some reason.
