After the world discovers that the infamous Simon Kerrigan is alive, public opinion of Rae and her friends begins to shift. While most people remain fiercely loyal, there are many who call for justice. There are even more who call for blood.
Caught in the volatile beginnings of a civil war, Rae struggles to keep the peace. But there's a battle brewing on the home front as well. As the reunited Kerrigan family gears up for the trial of the century, they all find themselves asking the same question:
Wanita May grew up in the fruit belt of Ontario - St.Catharines. Crazy-happy childhood, she always has had a vivid imagination and loads of energy.
The youngest of six -- four older brothers, and a sister -- taught her at a young age to be competitive in all aspects of life.
At sixteen, she began competing in athletics (track and field) and before she turned seventeen, she was representing Canada in high jump. She continued to compete, breaking Canada's JR High Jump record (1.92m - 6' 3 1/2" for those metric-ly challenged). She attented University of Toronto, and Kansas State University - winning CIAU's and becoming All-American 6x - NCAA Indoors Runner Up + more.
But you're not interested in her athletic career - unless of course you're curious to know she stands 1.70m (5'7") and has jumped 20cm over her head on more than one occassion. She's represented Canada at the World Championships, World Jrs., won Francophone Games, and loved every minute of every competition. From the grueling workouts, the crazy weights she lifted on her back, the days she thought her lungs were going to spit out of her mouth for lack of oxygen, the travelling around the world and the opportunity to read - her favourite past time.
Life continued with her husband (a distance runner from Liverpool, UK, who she met at KSU) and then their first, then second and finally third child. Their house became full of more imagination and stories.
Wanita and her husband run an online business, dealing in antiques and collectables - particularly jewelry and porcelain (one of the business' website: www.wadeincanada.com ).
After her father passed away in 2009, from a six-year battle with cancer (which she still believes he won the fight against), she began to write again. A passion she'd loved for years, but realized life was too short to keep putting it off.
Her first book, Rae of Hope - from the Chronicles of Kerrigan - will be available October 2011 by kNight Romance Publishing.
She is currently represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency. Wanita is a writer of Young Adult, Fantasy Fiction and where ever else her little muses take her.
Simon is discovered after seen outside. Somehow the tatu paparazzi was there when the big explosion happened (that was caused by Rae) and Commander Fodder. He was immediately arrested. Rae and her team went from being the heroes to being hated. Rae figure out a way to get back in the good with the press by being interviewed by a very persistent 16 year old. Somehow, her tatu was not mentioned. After her article, Rae and her team were again the saviours.
But then someone is forced to move back in with Rae, but only the close group knowing.
The trial happens and everything seems to go well until something happens to Rae.
Other than that I really enjoyed the book. 5 stars from me. That's all from me :) Hope you'll enjoy it too!
As usual, too short. Too undeveloped. Also the author feels the need to end with cliffhangers. Obviously she knows no one really wants to read these stupid books unless she leaves everything hanging. Honestly, I'm thinking books 7-12 should have been 1 book. Each book is only 140 pages or less. Very little meat in them. Not worth the $3.19 I shelled out for each of them. The sequel looks to be more of the same. I think I'll stop reading them now and count my losses-time and money. Time to get back to authors who have meaty, complete stories in each book. Like Faith Hunter, Larissa Ione, Marjorie Lui, Mary Janice Davidson, P. C. Cast, Angela Knight and on and on.
As far as Rae was concerned she didn't want to have to deal with her father but after finding him and hiding him in her house her world turned upside down faster then a blind of an eye. He was seen at the house that had blown up in pervious book and was placed in prison to a wait his trial for what he had done to some many people. When it came time for the trial Rae was asked to go something that would change her and her friends for the rest of their lives. Then ended has a major twist that no one will expect to happen. W.J. May really likes to keep her readers wondering what will happen next in the series.
The impact of Simon Kerrigan returning to the land of the living has the gang feeling broken and enraged. On top of that the Privy Council returns Simon to their care to keep him safe and alive until his trial and Rae will have to testify using her gift against her own father. Another terrific well-written story. Each book gets better and better.
some crazy stuff in the Kerrigan world. WARNING: cliff hanger. This book continues the saga after the last book's twist. There is a fair amount of looking back on the relationships and journeys, but it doesn't get bogged down. There are plenty of other happenings to keep the gang busy. I can't wait to read the next book.
That did not just happen! Please tell me it isn't true. And I can already guess who's fault it is. I didn't like that chick from the first introduction. And with how hard this whole thing has been on Rae, what the check happened.
Another good book in the series with good characters, mayhem, more secrets, some action and romance Truly needs to edit these books the mistakes are annoying. Also could be longer.
The hellish past of her father is brought forward when Rae has to see it for herself at his trial. This story in the series brings even more of the past to light but the ending WTH?!!

Can you ever really escape the past?
Wow, what can I say, I couldn't put it down, from beginning to end it had me. I am back with the original four and the newly minted seven. I love it.
Utter chaos ensues after the explosion that ultimately revealed to the world, "Simon Kerrigan lives!". What's Thanksgiving without a little explosion, rioting; you know, the usual Kerrigan style? With massive amounts of pressure coming from all sides, Rae has to do what's right. She also needs to watch her back. This book kept me on my toes and the ending??!!! My heart was racing! Unbelievable... Thank goodness the next installment comes out in February. Definitely another 5 star book!
This whole series has more twists and turns than a snake. The story just keeps getting better and better. I recommend this series to anyone who likes paranormal and mystery stories. I cannot believe that I have to wait a month for the next book.
