I'd hoped to find a book that would immerse the reader in the Great Depression, especially from a child's point of vies. Seeley Robinson is in her second year of high school, with a perfect set of circumstanced for what I was looking for. But it also adds drama of a mystery and navigating high school and siblings. Seeley Robinson is a great protagonist, a a girl with strong character. I also especially enjoyed the school bus driver.

There are two more books in the series, so I've ordered them too.

This is one of my favorite childhood books. Well written and very engaging! I can't wait to pass this one along to my daughter!
