There is only so much one person can endure before they break.
There was nothing I ever wanted less than to be Princess at the Royal Court. After devastation rocked my whole world, the return of my mother doesn't seem like the dream it was supposed to be.
I know how to be a warrior. I have no idea how to be a princess...
With her whole world turned upside down, and her heart still broken, who will Addie be at the end of it all?
Hearts can break, faith can plummet, but souls can Soar.
Sloane Murphy is a writer, dreamer, fur mom and crime documentary addict who has developed an unhealthy appreciation for cheesy YA Films, cupcakes and bad pop music. She adores fairy tales, ballet and all things supernatural, drinks far too much coffee, and watches an ungodly amount of Netflix.
She loves to write dark, paranormal/fantasy romance and characters who will shatter your heart. Characters who enjoy stomping on the pieces and then laugh before putting you back together again. Sloane Murphy. You evil genius. You just keep getting better and better at writing and delivering what we, as readers, want. I sobbed, I smiled, my heart was beating so fast I thought that it would break out of my chest. Reading this book sent my emotions everywhere. From the start if this series I was completely hooked, this grip that you have on me to keep reading, hasn't lessened in the slightest. In fact, it has probably gotten worse. Addie is so strong, so resilient, she astounds me! Everything that she has been through is so tough, I wouldn't have made it alive. The writing is phenomenal, the storyline is incredible and the characters.. Well, I think it's safe to say that they're my favourite characters EVER. That ending though! It's definitely THE biggest twist yet! I cannot wait for more!! A massive 5 stars from me! #2OCCAB
I came straight from book 2 into this and I devoured it in one sitting! After what happened at the end of book 2 I was reading like a madwoman!
In book 3 we follow Addie as she tries to heal after the ending of book 2, we see her claim her place with her family.
Although I did find about half way through that I wanted more than just what was happening in the palace, but I also realise than the story line didn't allow for what I wanted. (Not saying because it will spoil it.)
I thought I knew where this book was going but boy was I wrong! I DID NOT expect what happened at the end!
I was left cursing out Sloane!
I thought this was the last book in the series so I was not expecting that ending! Coming to then end of the book I couldn't believe it! I won't say what happens but OMG!
I can't wait for book 4!!!! I need it like yesterday!
This is Book three in the Immortal Chronicles series and it didn't disappoint. We start right where we left off in book two. I don't want to give anything away of the storyline because it would be a big spoiler, however we reunite with Addie, Kaden , Michael and the other favourites of the series. We meet more characters; Some loveable and some so not.
Action, romance, love and laughter continue for Addie and her friends as well as new challenges to hopefully overcome.
A fantastic fantasy read from someone who has now became one of my favourite paranormal authors. The storyline is easy to follow and the author writes the story well. Fantastic read. Any paranormal fan will not want to miss out on this.
So book #3 of The Immortal Chronicles... I read this straight after book #2 & I'm so glad I had this ready to read. I'm going to try & keep this spoiler free. What to say... Firstly you MUST read books 1&2 before reading Soar.
Soar throws us right back to where Crash left off. We rejoin Addie as she tries to deal with the events of book #2. We watch as she is given no choice but to join her family & take her rightful place in it.
These characters are amazing. They are so lovable & so realistic. Their emotions are so strong & consuming both for them & for us as readers. It's clear to see just how & why they feel the way they do, everything about the characters draws you in & allows them further into your heart.
The overall plot is an intricate, tangled web of action, drama & details that is carefully unravelled before our eyes. Soar grabs a hold of your attention from the very beginning & pulls you further into the story & doesn't let you go until the very end. Which then leaves you wanting more!
Sloane has written a powerful, beautiful, descriptive piece of awesomeness. Seriously this book is so good! As I was reading I was frying to guess what was coming up, but I never managed to guess correctly. Just when I thought I had an idea; BAM; I was met with an unexpected twist.
Even though this is book 3, I feel like those characters & this author have a lot more to give. I'm intrigued to see just where we will betaken in book #4. Soar does end on a cliffhanger, compared to the cliffhangers at the end of the first 2 books, this one is EPIC!!! :) No way in my wildest dreams did I see it coming!
My initial thoughts at the end of Soar were WTF? Sloane how the hell could you do that? Did you really end it there? Wherein the name of all that is holy is book #4? I NEED Book #4!
Sloane, you're evil, EVIL I tell you!
Honestly peeps if you haven't read this series, please do. But be prepared for a ton of emotions & heartache.
4.5 how do we keep ending up here stars!! Each one of these books leaves me NEEDING more!! I can not wait for the next book.
This is not a stand alone. Be sure to read the first two books in the series.
Wow! Well we left off with the fight with Cole. And Xander...well up in the air. Things go from bad to worse and then back to happy for awhile. But it would not be a Sloane Murphy book if the end did not utterly destroy me and have me throwing a tantrum for the next book.
Each book I love Addie more and more. This book I learn more of her and I do enjoy it. Her mother, the Queen, is now the queen from Snow White in my head. I can not stand her. King Kellan, well, I expected to despise him but I LOVE him!! And Sophie is my little angel. I am so glad Addie found her. But biggest disappointment with the book is Kaden. I fell in love with him awhile back and I feel like he deserves more!!
This book had me laughing, crying and just hoping for good. This author has an amazing way with words and writes with such a easy flow. I am so deeply invested in this series and these cliffhangers...damn they are good but drive me bonkers!! If you couldn't tell how much I love all these characters and how well this author developed them then I will say it again. Sloane had a excellent grasp in character development and makes you want to befriend or despise them all!! I enjoyed that this book was "lighter" then the other two. This series is a MUST read for those who enjoy the paranormal.
**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
All I can say is wow! Sloane Murphy has done it again.
In the latest instalment of The Immortal Chronicles we follow Addie and her journey after the death of Xander and the revelation that she is a princess.
Now, if you haven't read the first couple of books then you probably won't know what I'm talking about (spoiler alert).
It was great to see Addie continue her relationship with Michael and Rose although I was very disappointed we didn't get to see much of Kaden and Olivia. I'm assuming we will be brought up to speed in the next book.
Addie's relationship with Sophie, while understandable, did seem very fast-moving and I think it would have been nice if we had more of a back-story to Sophie and also some more interaction between them.
As for Addie having to pick a suitor. I'm sorry, I just didn't like it. I know it's part of the story and everything but I can't help but think if I was Addie I would have flat out refused and left. Addie had the power to. I just wish she used it...
Nevertheless it was a really interesting read which I didn't tire of and read in one sitting. I only have one complaint and it is that it was too short and could of had some more detail around the characters.
I cannot wait to read the next book!

Soar is the third book in (The Immortal Chronicles ) by Sloane Murphy ,and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this great series. This story starts off right where boo#2 left off. I'm not going to give anything away about this amazing story because of spoilers. But we are reunited back with Addie ,Kaden, Michael ,and other favorites from this amazing series. But then we even meet more sweet characters that are quite lovable ,and some you might not find so likable. This story has action ,romance, sweet love, and the laughter just keeps continuing for Addie and her best friends . And there's new challenges to overcome hopefully. Sloane Murphy has given us a story that will hook you right from the start until the very end, and will leave us wanting more from this author. This story is so easy to follow and the way the author has written this makes you fall in love with the characters. I could tell you more about this story ,but that would spoil it for you. I highly recommend that you read this story ,because you won't be disappointed.
The more I get invested in this series the more I love it ! These books do need to be read in order and each one picks up perfectly from where the last one left off.
Addie is trying to move on after her loss, she now has a whole new life to contend with inside the palace, everything isn't plain sailing for her.
A great fantasy/paranormal read which will keep your attention all the way through. I cannot wait to get started on the next and final conclusion to this gripping series.
An exciting read that will transport you to Addie's world reeling from what happened in book 2. Exiting and passionate this book does not fail to give you everything you wanted in this story and more. I loved reading every minute and fell in love with the characters all over again. This book is the ultimate for the series keeping you at the precipice of emotions from tears to laughter to passion and love. I was glued to the pages till the very end.
The last book ended with me saying, WHAATT!!! NOOOO!!!! I cannot believe that happened! This one starts on a bit of a sad note and I'm still like, Nooo!! This can't be real. I end up kind of rooting for Kaden, and then Addie is taken to Royal Court to attend to her Princess duties. New characters are introduced and now I'm like, what? I don't even know what to think now.
I was a bit confused by Addie's mothers reaction towards her, while Kellen was much more paternal to her. I'm curious to learn a bit more about the Queen. I was also surprised at how fast they pushed Addie into being courted. I get that she's a royal and that's their way, but she's basically a brand new royal, has no clue about being a princess, but she's expected to pick a suitor in a few weeks and marry him? I kind of thought she might fight it a bit more, but then again you see her grow and start to think about her people. She starts thinking more like a princess, and I see why she makes some of the decisions she does. I will say, I was rooting for one of the suitors more than the others, which made me mad because, Hello! Xander! Kaden! There's too many love interests, and I love them all and want everyone to live Happily Ever After! Is that too much to ask for? Haha!
Then we get to the end and I'm pretty much left with the same reaction as the last book. Whaaattt!!! Noooo Waaaayyy!!! Come onnnnn!! I can't wait to read the final installment in this series. I don't even know what I want to happen, but I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us! #B2BKrissy
Soar opens where book two, Crash ended. It is a heart-breaking scene with Addie, Kaden and Dimitri attending Xander’s funeral. Addie is left floundering and unwilling to move forward without the love of her life beside her. When Dimitri leaves to return to the House of Bane, Addie goes home with Kaden.
It is not long before the Fey court comes calling to claim Addie as its princess. While she does not want join the court, she is truly left with no choice. Kaden is forced to give Addie up to the court, but attempts to protect her as much as possible by sending Michael as her personal guard.
This book details Addie’s journey into learning the ins and outs of being a Fey princess. While King Kellen is extremely welcome, the Queen, Addie’s mother, is not and continues to manipulate all aspects of her life . . .with the biggest manipulation being that Addie must choose a Prince from 4 suitors in just a few short weeks.
Addie continues to struggle with who she really is and how she can possibly go on with life now that Xander is gone. She must also learn to control the dark forces inside her while dealing with her mother’s deceit and treachery.
Sloane Murphy has really done an amazing job of allowing readers to watch Addie’s personality grow and soar in this book. Forced to do what is best for others, rather than herself, Addie’s character shines. She continues to be a strong young woman and a force to be reckoned with. I love the banter she has with friends such as Michael and Rose. I also love the special bond she forms with a young child she finds being mistreated in the palace. This bond, more than anything has such a profound and beautiful effect on Addie that it is a joy to watch it develop.
As with the other books in this series, Soar ends with a bang. I can honestly say that the twist is not one that I saw coming and I was left breathless and wanting more! I cannot wait for the next installment to see how Addie’s journey ends . . . it has been an amazing ride so far and I am sure the ending will be spectacular!
I thought this was the last book!!!! I was actually waiting for it all to wind up all nicely in a neat bow... well Murphy shredded that pretty bow and stuck a HUGE cliffy on it!!
In this book we see Addie try to get over what happened at the end of the second book. She deals with guilt, sadness, and anger, as well as trying to control her new powers and learn how to become a princess. I loved the relationship she developed with the people in the castle, especially Kellan and Sophie. I also have a special place in my heart for Dante, he was amazing!
I loved this book, I've just loved the whole series so far and I can't wait for the last one in July! Thanks for getting me out of my book funk, Sloane.
Soar is book 3 in this series and carries on exactly where book 2 left off with that huge cliffhanger!
I swear i give myself a pep talk before i even attempt to read a book of Sloanes. From the very first page my emotions were shot, silent tears were falling down my cheeks and i was reaching for the tissues. In this book we follow Addie once again as her life leads her on a path she never would have chosen. Forced to join her family and claim her royal heritage Addie is plunged into a world she hates all while still grieveing and trying to recover from the loss of Xander. Along the way Addie forms a bond that slowly helps her heal and find herself again, the twists and turns that get her there though will have you on the edge of your seat. I laughed i cried i cursed i all but threw my kindle at that damn end! Sloane you evil genius you. Once again you threw me for a loop with that ending!
I have followed this author since the very beginning of her journey and i'll always be a fan. Not only do we see her characters grow with each book she writes but we see her grow as an author too. I cant wait to read the next in this series and every other book too!
Omg, travelling through this book with Addie, feeling for her, seeing her grow, making decisions, and then the ending of this book!!!! You just need to read it....
Soar brings me back to my roots in a way. I started my reading journey with fantasy and it feels good to get back to it.
Addie surprised me throughout this book because it felt to me that after everything she had endured she just rolled over and took it. She's learning the reigns of her new life with the Fae and it is a major adjustment but I grew to love the strong willed defiant Addie we found in Book 2: Crash.
We get to meet a slew of new characters that present themselves in Addie's life but little Sophie caught me off guard and I found myself wanting more parts with her in it! Dante was another character that I wish we'd seen more of.
Overall this book was great but I had really hoped this was the end of Adelaide's story but we have been left once again with a major twist that will leave you reeling! Seriously it made my stomach drop. I didn't really want another installment but I find myself a little impatient to get my hands on it!!
Another great book from Sloane Murphy. Great characters, will they ever be together. This can't end this way, True love must win out in the end. More please. A must read now. What are you waiting for.

You know sometimes when you start a series of books and you fall in love but slowly as the series goes on it kinda starts to fade a little. It can become boring, dragged out and even repetitive? Well none of that applies here. What Sloane has done here is weave an intricate web that just keeps giving and giving and it has just blown me away through each of the three books I have read.
This is book 3 of 4. I recommend reading the other 2 before starting this one.
I have loved reading this story line slowly unfold and although we are on book 3 I feel there is still so much more to give and I'm sure the author will with her next book! The plot is so thick with story that I just couldn't guess where it was going to go even if I tried. There is so much action in this descriptive master piece that you can't possibly pull yourself away from it. *confession- I face planted myself with my kindle trying to finish this book last night.. I fell asleep..kindle hit face*
Addie.. Oh Addie how I have loved to read about your life and where it has taken you! Such a fantastic character! We all need an ‘addie’ and a Michael for that matter!
Sloane is making her characters work for it but my oh my does she do it well! As with the other books in the series yes it ends on a cliff hanger…. a bigger one than in the first and second book. My mind is a jumbled mess of thoughts of where this can go, what will happen, I'm trying hard to pick at it but I know it's pointless. This author writes her words so well that I cannot possibly know where book will take us! What I do know however is that it cannot come quick enough!
Thank you for the incredible journey 5 stars from me!
This is Book three in the Immortal Chronicles series and it didn't disappoint. We start right where we left off in book two. A fantastic fantasy read from someone who has now became one of my favourite paranormal authors. The storyline is easy to follow and the author writes the story well. Fantastic read. Any paranormal fan will not want to miss out on this series.
I cried so much during the first few chapters. 😭💔 It was utterly heart breaking watching Addie fall apart after Xander's death, funeral and then them all dispersing back to their homes. Although Addie agrees to stay with Kaden, Michael & Celeste!! (I said 'watching' as when I read it's like I see a film in my head, am I weird? Probably!!😂)
This book strayed from the formula of the first two books. This one is centred almost solely on Addie & her trying to come to grips with her new life!!😳👑✨ There are chapters that are based on Kaden etc and Michael is with Addie constantly, but she is definitely the main focus!
She goes through some HUGE changes throughout this book. She's matured, finally & starts to see things in differing perspectives than before. What never seems to change with her is her sense of justice & her capacity to love 💕
An interesting & necessary story but not as gripping as the previous ones.
After loosing your soulmate few months prior the snarki, independent heroine passively screes too marry another dude just because her mommy said so??????? I don't think so. Very disappointed in the concept of this book.

I was super excited for Soar. Crash had a big cliffhanger ending and I was dying to know what happened, but Soar was a major let down for me. I have been reading this series since Descent came out, and I have loved it all. The world that Sloane Murphy built for this series is amazing, as well as character development and backstories, however Soar just missed the mark for me and I was really disappointed with the storyline and where she took Addie's character. In all honesty I was pretty angry after reading this one.
I will try not to reveal spoilers as I try to tell you why this installment didn't pan out for me. In this series we have a character (Addie) that seriously kicks ass and takes names. She's fierce and feisty, she's a strong fighter, and she's half fae, half fallen. She's unique and independent and I have loved her character. In Soar, we take this independent and unique character and turn her into a dainty princess that everyone has to protect and fawn over. She is forced into an arranged marriage situation and at first she's like "This is never going to happen, no way" to "oh.... well, I guess if you insist I have to then I have to."It's like she just rolled over. I know there were reasons behind her "doing what she's told" but the Addie I thought I knew wouldn't have taken it like that, especially after what had happened with Xander. Also the whole suitors having to woo her for her hand in marriage just annoyed me. It was definitely not the storyline I was expecting and I was really disappointed.
Also at the beginning we get a lot of point of view from Kaden, and then about 1/4 of the way through he just disappears and the rest of the book is all from Addie's point of view. I know we will probably see what happened behind the scenes with Kaden in Rapture, but a big reason I liked the other books was getting to see all the varying points of view throughout the story.
There were a few redeeming qualities to Soar however. Sofie was such an amazingly sweet character, and the way Addie first meets Sofie and stands up to for her was amazing. THIS is what I wish we saw for the whole marriage arrangement thing, this kind of emotion and action. Dante was a great character too, even though he was one of the suitors. Naoki was interesting and I liked the fight scene with him. The writing was amazing as always, as well as scene descriptions and character descriptions.
The ending.... I knew what was going to happen (or at least what would happen with a certain character) but the way it panned out just made me angry.
All in all I will probably read this one over again when Rapture comes out just because I always read the series over when a new book is releasing, but I really didn't enjoy it.
Soar is book three in Sloane Murphy’s The Immortal Chronicles series. This book continues on from were book two Crash ends.
After loosing Xander at the end of Crash, Addie has to go through the process of him not being around. But on top of that she is summoned to The Palace where she must take on her role and responsibilities as the Princess. Part of the responsibilities is finding a husband among suitors picked by her parents. But dealing with the loss of a loved one how is a girl supposed to choose a husband, when she is mourning Xander.
WTF, what did I just read, holy moly. So much emotional turmoil in this book. My heart just shattered for Addie in this book. She has been through so much in her 18 years of life and it just keeps getting messed up. I am just speechless after this book, I was absolutely hooked, I devoured it in a few hours as I just needed to know what was going to happen. Altogether at the beginning I was close to not continuing it as I wasn’t happy with the way Kaden was with Addie, I felt like it wasn’t fair to Xander. But the ended of this book just tore me apart again, I thought Xander’s death in Crash was bad but this was so much worse.
I am so dumbfounded that I am heading straight into Rapture. I need to know what’s going to happen.
Gah, I'm so far gone for The Immortal Chronicles that it's not even funny. Poor Addie is gone through so much, that it's a miracle that she's not completely broken. Yep, that's it. Now on to my fan girl gushing. OMG, Sloane Murphy's writing style has gone from seriously talented to outright EPICALLY BRILLIANT as this series has gone on. And reading them all in order, one right after another, has really shown me how amazingly she's evolved, & I'm HOOKED BIG TIME! When I started the series, I NEVER saw all of this fantastic goodness coming my way, and I'm so glad that I took a chance, as I will be now forevermore be devouring anything this author puts out. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Addie so very much, as her strength is amazing, and yes, I realize that I sound like she's my friend, but that's how far transported into this world that I've been, because she feels like my friend. The storyline is fast paced with heart pounding excitement, fabulous characters that I'll never forget, twist & turns that will keep you guessing until you know, and a HUGE ENDING. So HUGE in fact, that even though I have Rapture, I'm still adding Sloane Murphy to the list of authors trying to KILL ME DEAD, and giving her the #EVILWHORE hashtag forevermore! Maybe it seems excessive, but it took me time to get to the final book so there! Anyway, I can't HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND ENOUGH!
I read all books back to back and made it much easier to follow along. So this review will include a little from all the books. I have not read much YA Paranormal for awhile(not in that age bracket anymore) but this is definitely worth your time. In book 3 she is trying to move on with her life and it has become difficult to do just that. She has to live a new life of being a princess. Which is completely different to what life she had before. It is quite ridiculous how Fae royalty is but she must embrace it to stay in good graces of everyone. Which means she had suitors that she had to pick to become her husband. This is a hard pill to swallow considering she is still in love with Xander. At the end a major bomb is dropped that I didn't see coming. I mean, WTH! But I LOVED Dante. He is seriously perfect and I was surprisingly on team Dante.
Book three in the chronicles. This had a very different feel to it as Addie gets used to life not only as a princess but also without Xander. This book is full of emotion as Addie grows to accept her powers and new position in the palace, some of her friends are still around Michael and Rose. She rescues and falls in love with a child who reminds her of herself and the delightful Sophie becomes very important to her. We get some love interest from the four suitors, one of whom she has to pick to be her husband, but how can she do that as she is still grieving and in love with Xander. As always some very powerful writing and the wonderful characters of vampyr and fae keep the paranormal interest going. Ohh and what a twist at the end of the book!! Can’t wait for the next one.
As much as I love the writing I hate those damn cliffhangers. Each is worse than the previous. I thought nothing could beat the last one but color me surpsised. I felt for Addie even more in this part than I did in the last two. Because those sufferings she had to endure were "provided" by people she didn't know. But here? I'm sorry but court life is ruthless and given Addie's state if mind no qonder she rebelled. Who wouldn't? I don't know how much I can take. What can possibly happen next? You'd think for such a young girl Addie has witnessed more than most of the other characters combined. Well... let's see how this all ends.. If to #4- the grande finale
That was another enjoyable instalment of The Immortal Chronicles. Whilst book 3 wasn't quite as action-packed as the first two it was still a good read in it's own right. Addie our heroine has proven to be a strong individual and we see her adapt to a new way of life whilst dealing with what has happened in her life so far. Despite the betrayals of those she has cared for most in the past she meets a whole host of new people some of whom become important to her. There are a couple of minor continuity errors but the don't detract from story at all. I am interested to find out what happened to Aeveen, despite the fact they supposedly merged she seems to have all but vanished as she didn't have a voice in this part of the story, I wonder if she'll show up in bk 4.
Let's take a minute to start with to be brutally honest and for me to get my frustration out... I just knew, KNEW my heart was going to end up in my mouth and the end was going to leave my jaw on the floor and I would be left smashing my head against a brick wall, any brick wall. I was watching the percentage creep up in the bottom corner thinking to myself there isn't long left to go and there is SO MUCH I want to happen... It's getting higher... It's not even CLOSE to being where I need it to be!!!! Hold on... RAPTURE... JULY 2017...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... But wait there's another book... SMILE ON FACE!
Now my review... ha!
Sloane what did you do to me? I mean really?!
I was so deep in the story you created and so in love with your characters that the end of the book kind of snuck up on me. Don't you just hate it when that happens and now I'm not sure I can wait til July, see I'm not a very patient person. This series got me back into reading and now I don't know what to do with myself. That being said, I wish I could give Soar more than 5 stars because it deserves SO many more stars. I loved getting lost in Addie again and her sassy attitude and I just LOVE her! She actually came this time at a time that I really needed her strength and I couldn't be more grateful. Addie really had my heart, as does 98.5% of ALL the characters I fell in love with in previous books. Sophie, GAH! She made my heart break, then fixed it and then melted it.
I loved the story, LOVED the story. It was as intricate and intoxicating as its predecessors. It's a story that I have spent hours getting lost in and could happily go back and start them all over again just so I don't have to leave. Don't believe me? Find out for yourselves. But be prepared to completely forget any thing else exists.
You will fall in love with everything that is Sloane Murphy and her amazing world of humans, fae, vampyrs, wolves, demons and well just MAGIC. And the magic it will weave on you.
Addie is still in mourning. She also finds out who her mother is and is summoned to the palace against her will. King Kellan is so happy to have his daughter back after all these years. Is the Queen happy as well or is she still up to her evil tricks? Addie has to pick a suitor against her will. Who will she choose? Who crashes her wedding after the knot has been tied? Who is being hunted for treason? The author has sent us on a wonderful journey that keeps us intrigued as it spins web of mystery, suspense and betrayal with so many OMyGosh twists. I would definitely recommend this series!! Cliffhanger.
