Reunions are the best and with Clay by my side again I feel like I can conquer the world. There’s hope for Shelter, a place in Jiva’s museum. Never mind what I had to promise Avery to get the deal. It’ll be worth it. I finally know what I want from life, from Daemon, from everything. I almost give in to the belief that things are gonna work out, but as if offended by my optimism, destiny decides to kick me in the teeth.
The world is unraveling and for the first time I’m not sure if I have the courage to do what needs to be done to stop it.
Amos Cassidy - a team of two. Amos is a 32 year old Diva and Cassidy a 40 year old mum of three. Aside from a passion for writing and a love of reading they also share an addiction to coffee, love anything Joss Whedon and are constantly playing tug of war over Jensen Ackles.
Whatever else they are, the writing duo that is Amos Cassidy are unsurpassed wordsmiths. They can describe a place, tell a tale like nobody’s business.
Shadow Destiny is the third book in the Shadowlands series. This one is slightly less chaotic than the first two. Unfortunately, it has been so long since I read the earlier books, particularly the first one, that I have forgotten some of the details. But the story so far is basically that twins Ashling and her brother, Clay, used to live in a place known as Shelter, one of a few remaining islands of safety in a post-apocalyptic world destroyed when other worlds that had occupied the same space in other dimensions broke through some time in the past. It was running out of food, and Ash went out into the wasteland – the Shadowlands – to try to find some. She had some close calls and wound up working out of a place called, appropriately enough, Apocolypse. Clay, when he found out that she wasn’t dead as he had been led to believe, set off into the Shadowlands as well looking for her. After searching all the worlds for a way to help their people, and for each other, Ash and Clay were reunited at the end of the previous book, Shadow Eater in the midst of an attack on Apocalypse by humans from another of the small pockets where they still live.
Ash has a dark personality. She developed a capability to absorb the shadows that wandered the Shadowlands eating humans and other creatures. An evil character known as the Prince has seen her and put his mark on her, trying to utilize Ash, her shadow eating abilities, and her darkness for his own purposes. Ash and her friends at Apocalypse think they have found a way to thwart the Prince, at least for the time being.
Clay is a fixer. He used to repair broken equipment and the like back in Shelter. During his travels in the Shadowlands, he has discovered a mysterious substance they call aether, which he was able to shape into useful things. Now he is developing that he has still more amazing powers.
There is another battle with the humans. Clay’s boyfriend, Blake, leader of the people from Shelter, joins forces with Valance, the leader from the other pocket, Haven, to try to kill all the Shadowlanders and take over Apocalypse. When Valance is killed, most of the rest of the humans give up the fight, and for a while, it appears that things will be better. The angel, Jiva, allows the humans to move into the area of neat little houses he calls his ‘museum,’ Clay and Blake are reunited, and things seem to be going well.
Then the end of the world starts to happen. And silly me thought that the world had already ended some time before the first book began.
So, can Clay and Ash manage to defeat the Prince and prevent what is left of the world from unraveling, even with the help of their friends from Apocalypse? And how can they do that?
I loved reading about Ash (Ashling) and Clay (Clayton) and there final journey in the Shadowland. I loved how the author creates each scene; they're all descriptive. My favorite characters are Ash, Clay, Avery and Daemon... I liked that Ash, Clay and Em work together with Daemon and Avery and the other Shadowlanders to bring there people to Jiva's museum. My favorite part is Ash faces down Avery to get him to allow their people to come to the Shadowlands. The ending is what took me by surprise... I didn't see it coming. Shadow Destiny will make you laugh and smile and cry in the end... And it completes you all in one. It is a definitely worth a 5 star rating.
I loved his book but I can say it was the least favorite of the three. Such an abrupt ending with no real closure. What was the point of bringing Daemon and Ash together only for her to die abruptly at the end? What's next for Clay? Daemon, the epilogue did nothing for me. Love the series but the last book was a let down. Hopefully another series can start explaining where Ash is and if she'll ever make it back to the land of the living or in this case shadowlands.

This series was very interesting. I would have actually given it five stars but I was very disappointed with the ending. Yeah I know they can't all be happy endings but I would have liked for a few things to have been different.
Loved this series. Wish it could of been longer. Lack of sleep and forgetting to function after two days of reading and now I can breathe. Definitely recommend this if you like apocalyptic/fantasy
Everything in this series comes together here. I wasn't really happy with the way certain things developed, but such is life. The ending is a bit of a surprise, but you know that it can't have a happy ending for everyone. There were a few grammatical errors in this book, but nothing overly distracting. Overall, this is an excellent series and worth putting your time into as long as you are prepared to have your heart pretty well ripped out. It has interesting people/creatures and a very intriguing storyline. Shadow Destiny will surprise you with who and what certain characters actually turn out to be.
Oh my god!!!!!! This is one emotional read. The end coming near for all an the only way save everyone is for one to sacrifice themselves. War, betrayal, fear, death, destruction and love. How it ended? So emotional and my heart goes out to so many and yes I know they are not real bit still? I got emotional involved with these people.
Ash has finally got her brother back and is facing what is happening with Daemon and so lovely. But still dealing with the Princes mark and the Shadows. But will do what it takes to help everyone.
Clay has found his sister, made new friends and just wants to bring the rest of Shelter through to start fresh. But a fight is heading right to then and the end of the world. Now is the time to face what he can do.
Everyone is on alert and having to face that not everything is as it seems. Having to work together is difficult as a few disagree with what needs to be done. When the truth comes out about who Ash and Clay are and what they have to do it gets all crazy. Poor Daemon and Avery that's all I'm saying, and Ameus he is so lovely. I'm trying really hard to to give anything away cause everyone should experience this themselves with out me ruining what happens. I absolutely fricking loved this book.
This series was always a bit of a guilty pleasure; a bit of fluff to pass a few hours. I wasn't expecting too much from the final instalment, but wanted to see how it ended. In a mess of confusion, a rushed and incomplete finale and disappointment.
Shadow Destiny by Amos Cassidy. 5 out of 5 stars! The third and final book in the Shadowlands series was well worth waiting for. I would highly recommend this dystopian fantasy to everyone. It is a gentle romance on so many sides, an adventure waiting to happen on all fronts, and a thriller for the main characters, all rolled up into one. It starts off with Shadow Reaper, goes onto Shadow Eater, and finishes off with this one, Shadow Destiny. The only thing I didn't like about it was the ending, personally i think it could have been done better the other way around. (and that's all I'll say about it as it will spoil it for those that want to read for themselves!) But I've loved all the books in this series and I think that a lot more people that haven't read them yet, would also appreciate them too.
