A collection of short stories.
Manolis Frangidis "Comix Noir II" is like a punk-rock band's evolution. His first album, "Comix Noir", was raw, hard-edged and to straight to the razor-sharp point. This one is more mature, political, less fast-paced and nihilistic.
I love the way negative space is used and the fact that there are no panels, yet the stories -short as they may be- flow, without impediment. There are some great bits of black humor here and there but the overall feeling is still noir.
The appendix section provides additional backstage info and gives an in-depth look at the stories behind the stories. After reading it I re-read the whole album under a different light.
"Long Live the King" is my favorite.
