I had no idea what this book is about and what kind of genre it belongs to when I started reading it. I was pretty curious what I would get into and could understand Maren´s frustration being kept in the dark by everyone since the reader only finds out what she does. But that was the only thing I could understand of her. Her behavior was sometimes completely unreasonable. (Who throws a dagger at someone out of frustration and anger and is then surprised that the person is injured?!).

After 3/4 of the book, I couldn´t handle her anymore and just skimmed over the rest of the book.

When Maude and her brother are asked to travel through dangerous territory to find her uncle, Maude is confused, but she has no idea what kind of hell the two of them will go through. Life, death, illness, all come knocking on her door. She leaves as a young girl who can only weave and end the end not only can she weave and cook, but she is an amazing healer saving lives. This book absolutely reminds me of the layout of the Hunger Games. It was an amazing reading.
