A Standalone Romantic Suspense Novella from the NYT Bestselling author of the Titan Series...

A Sexy Doctor and a CIA Spy with Amnesia

“Amnesia Allie” should’ve been one of Dr. James Tuska’s normal patients: another CIA asset who they wanted well-cared for and then sent on her merry way. Everyday work at his niche medical practice was never that interesting… until she claimed the impossible. “He’s my fiancé.”

James had never met Allie, yet he couldn’t say no even if he was part of the Agency cover up. Now the Agency wants her dead.

Between the lies and the hiding, the woman who turned the CIA upside down with three words brought him to his knees.

And then Allie disappeared… Nothing would ever be the same.

This is a guy that we have all wondered about. Dr. Tuska has been in the shadows long enough. This man is a Titan man! I love the fact that James knows almost immediately that Allie is his. He is her warrior, her doctor, her hero, and now her love. This story is exciting, thrilling and mysterious. Allie can’t remember anything. Her amnesia makes her desperate for answers. She knows she’s being lied to by everyone. Sensing an immediate connection with Dr. Tuska, Allie knows that claiming him as her fiancé will give her a sense of trust and possibly a way to find answers and her memory. James has this immediate need to protect Allie. It’s been a long time since he was a warrior but he is determined to see her safe from those that want her dead.

Together, James and Allie make this story another Titan hit! This is a must read! Cristin Harber keeps us coming back for more Titan heroes and I hope she continues indefinitely!

She awoke with no memory of who she was or what happened to her. Her friend, whom she doesn’t remember tells her she was in an accident, but her raw fingertips tell her otherwise. Was she always so suspicious? When Dr. James Tuska walks in, Allie shocks everyone by claiming he is her fiance. But why? They are strangers, but this intriguing woman’s past has been spelled out for her, but when it doesn’t feel right, together they will embark on a mission to uncover the truth.

Who was Allie in reality? Why has her past been erased and surely altered? With flashes of another life flicker in her brain, Allie knows she is being treated like a mushroom and kept in the dark and a covert government entity has the answers.

On your mark, get set and GO! Cristin Harber rockets out of the gate with DÉJÀ VU and never fades throughout this brief but rapid-fire read! Mystery, intrigue and romance round out a tale of “Who Am I?” and why can’t I find out?

I received an ARC edition from Cristin Harber in exchange for my honest review.

4.25 Stars. This is a captivating book with an original plot. Dr.James Tuska finds himself in quite a predictable when he starts to have feelings for Allie, a patient with amnesia. Poor Allie, no one wants her to regain her memory and she can’t trust anyone to help her regain her life. The relationship between Allie and James certainly doesn’t fellow a normal path, but that’s what makes this book interesting.

4 fast paced, memory challenged stars!

When the CIA wanted to "decondition" Amnesia Allie, an operative who lost her memories, she gets sent to brain trauma specialist Dr. James Tuska. James' job is to make sure she heals…without any memory of her CIA days. But Allie starts losing her mind, knowing that she's not the person everyone is telling her she is. The only person she can trust for some reason is James, and she knows he knows more than he's telling her. As Allie's memories start to return, she's got to figure out exactly who she was and why people will kill to keep her quiet.

DÉJÀ VU is a novella in the Titan World series by a variety of authors writing in and around the world of the Titan series by Cristin Harber.

I'm so in love with DÉJÀ VU! This is a unique (to me) story of a CIA operative who has no clue who she is, but the intrinsic motions that made up her life are still there…searching for weapons…badass ninja skills…knowing where her safe house is and how to search a house. Along the way, the chemistry between Allie and James just blew up. He couldn't stay away from her, despite being her doctor and having government clearance about her past. The sex scenes were wonderfully erotic and ferocious and I loved every second of it!

The suspense element was well written and fun. You don't know WHY the CIA didn't just kill her, so her journey to finding out the truth was rather nail biting. My only eye rolling moments came from the fact that it was pretty damn easy for Allie to recognize that she wasn't the woman who they claimed. It didn't take her long to recognize her emails were staged and her safe house was just a few streets over. Epic CIA cover story fail. Regardless, Ms. Harber always gives us exciting, sexy stories, and I'm pumped to delve into this new Titan World of books!

Bottom Line: No OM/OW or sharing (but there is an OM kiss that doesn't make you feel icky); some condom use; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; some violence, no murder. - See more at: http://www.theromancereviews.com/view...

I've read some stories similar to this one, which I was okay with. Sometimes it is hard to follow since Allie/Corine has not memory. I did figure out one of the bad guys before anyone else did. With this being a novella Cristin Harber has to give enough information in a few pages to follow. In my opinion I think it was done. Sometimes the story was a little choppy, I think this had to do with Allie's memory loss. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

A very fun and entertaining spy-with-amnesia-regaining-her-memories mystery-action plot with a bit of insta-lust on the direct highway to insta-love. It was great for a (hot pepper) good time but had zip, zero, zilch romance lol

The downside to a novella is the limited space to tell a story. Sometimes it comes off well, other times not so much. Deja Vu fell in the middle for me. Both plot and romance had highs and lows, but it was fast-paced fun.

One minute a covert CIA agent hangs by her fingertips from the upper story window ledge of her target's apartment. The next, a bruised and battered woman known only as "Amnesia Allie" wakes up in a strange hospital room, with no memory, a life that she's sure isn't hers, and an unshakable belief that the man she now knows as her doctor...is also her fiance.

Dr James Tuska has never had any qualms about caring for the injured CIA assets that have come to him as patients.
Until her.
One look into her eyes. One touch of her hand, and those three little words. Forever changes the way that he sees his job, his world, and her life.
A life that he knows is in jeopardy.
A life that he will do anything to protect.
A life and a woman that his heart has now claimed for his own.

Cristin Harber's Deja Vu offers readers what amounts to several glimpses into the life and unexpected love of an injured CIA operative on the verge of losing everything. Even her life...and the one man unable to fight loving her.
This book is written in such a way that one is never quite sure who its female protagonist actually is.
A fact that goes a long way in establishing a "need to read" in its audience. If for no other reason than that of trying to "fill in all of the blanks" in Ms CIA/Allie/who the hell she really turns out to be's life.

While this part of the story-line has a certain continuity that becomes increasingly easy to follow as time goes on. It is the surprise romance and all of the complications that ensue. Which work to both enrich and muddle this tale's direction.
The reason for this being that while Jame's and Allie's attraction and romance does give the story quite a bit of added fire. It comes off as an extraneous and often misplaced complication for the most part.
The reason.
Lack of reference.
All other story elements had some sort of history. Something which made them make sense within the story's overall framework. Except for her Dr. Tuska's overwhelming need for and attraction to Allie.
The love scenes between the two also seem a little forced.

Because this book is a novella, it is very important that the story be kept very concise in scope. For the most part, this is an objective that is very well executed in this read. The romance being the only exception.

This is however, a very well penned and enjoyable foray into espionage, intrigue, love, and danger. With just a touch of amnesia.

Reviewer's Note: This novella is part of a companion collection, and can be read as a standalone.

Deja Vu is packed with fast paced action from the start.

Allie wakes up in the hospital with no memory of who she is or how she got there. The story provided by the friend at her side, Beth Hart, is that she was in a car accident. But even from the beginning, Allie questions much of what she is told, as things just don’t feel right.

Dr. James Tuska knows little about his newest patient, but what he does know he can’t share with her. Three words tie them together instantly, as Allie claims he is her fiance. But words shouldn’t mean much, until they pull both Dr. Tuska and Allie into a web of mystery tied to the CIA.

These two share an instant spark that gives Allie a safe place during her recovery and has James questioning how much he should share despite orders. The chemistry between them is high and though they don’t speak of the feelings growing between them, the connection gives them both something to hold onto.

Wondering just what Allie knew and who she really was had me turning the pages as fast as I could. But there were times where this felt a little disjointed and had me wishing it was a full novel rather than a novella in order to flesh out certain aspects of the plot.

As a Titan world novella, this connects our favorite Titan characters with a greater glimpse at Dr. James Tuska, who has long been the doctor of choice for Titan injuries. As he is usually a side character who only interacts with Titan for a few minor scenes, it was nice to see him take center stage, to see him use the skills that tie him so closely to the men and women of Titan.

As with all Titan stories, Cristin Harber stole my heart and attention with James and Allie's HEA. James Tuska has been needing his own story for a while now, and he finally finds his woman in the Titan World. It was interesting seeing Titan from an outsider's viewpoint. Jared shows up along with a handful of favorite Titan cast members, making this an excellent lead story in Cristin's Titan World project.

Experiencing James and Allie's dance to finding each other along with much needed answers was a fun trip, full of intrigue, heat, and happy sighs.

For as long as I have been reading Titan books I have always wondered about Dr James Tuska, Well I wonder no more Deja Vu is a kindle world short all about James and Amnesia Allie it is an addictive tale of love, deceit, betrayal and adventure with lots of bullets flying, car chases all the while Allie is falling hard for James but she can't for the life of her remember who she is she just knows instinctively to trust James with her life, heart and soul from the moment she laid eyes on him.

I love the Titan world, but this one really didn't fit into it well. There wasn't enough of the Titan boys, or maybe it was that the good doctor has always been in the back ground of the other books, and I just didn't know enough about him.

Having read multiple books in the Titan World, I will have to say that this novella did not have much of the guns and ammo type of action that I have come to expect from Cristin Harber. That’s not to say that Deja Vu wasn’t good, I just expected there to be more gunplay than sexplay. For this installment, the heat definitely stemmed from the explosive attraction between the hero and the heroine.

Deja Vu is the story of “Amnesia Allie” who lost her memory after she fell from the window of an apartment that she had broken into while doing her job as a CIA operative. When she awakes in the hospital not knowing who she is or how she got there, she uses her instincts to get to the truth. To add insult to injury, there is a woman in her room claiming to be her best friend and Allie is sure that isn’t true. Somehow Allie convinces her doctor, James Tuska who just so happens to work closely with the CIA and Titan, to claim that he is her fiancé so she can get her bearings and figure out what’s going on. Clearly feeling an attraction between them, James goes along and ends up conflicted over what he should or shouldn’t tell Allie. Things quickly heat up between them and they find that they are definitely compatible between the sheets and other places. Everything becomes more complicated as Allie starts to remember bits and pieces of her past life and is desperate to figure out the truth. Allie goes on the run and quickly gets in way over her head.

I was very impressed with the way that Allie followed her gut and let her CIA training guide her to the truth. She was fearless and relentless. I did feel like her and James fell for each other a little too fast but under the circumstances, I suppose I can let that go. It was also great to see the Titan Group in action although it was in a small supporting role. Overall, this novella was a fun, albeit short ride. I’m now curious to see if the other novellas in this series are as good.

"Amnesia Allie" wakes up in a hospital with no memory, but plenty of anxiety. People are telling her who she was and what her life was like, but none of it seems familiar or true.

The only anchor she can seem to find and the only person she trusts is her doctor, James Tuska. He runs a boutique medical practice catering to government agencies and special requests. But something about Allie and this case is not something he can easily forget. He might be part of the team not giving her the full truth, but he also becomes protective over her and they forge and unexpected connection.

But Allie is not content to sit around and accept what she is being told. And she knows she will have to take off on her own to search out the truth of her former life. She is inquisitive, tenacious, smart, and has good instincts. James really did not plan to get involved, but he can't seem to stay away. Soon he is in the middle of chaos with her and his loyalties are conflicted. It's suspense, action, passion, and love on the run while looking for answers. And it is unclear who they can trust.

Some of the Titan team are involved to assist when needed. I love getting to spend more time with them. The mystery is slowly unraveled throughout. I will admit that at times the story felt a bit convoluted (some being understandable to her memory loss and confusion), but sometimes I had to reread certain parts. Due to its novella length, it was fast-paced and insta-lovey. But he characters were likable enough and it was a quick, suspenseful, action-packed read with a budding romance in the center of it. And the epilogue made me smile.

Déjà Vu by Cristin Harber
I received the book from the author for an honest review.
AHH I love these books and this series. When I was offered to read her Kindle Worlds book, I jumped. I mean more bada$$ fighting men and woman, yes please!!

Cristin writes some tough as nail female characters and some uber alpha men to be the woman’s counterparts. Allie and James are no different. She is feisty and won’t believe anything that she is being “spoon feed” about why she has amnesia. James is being forced to push the lie even though he is feeling different about her vs other patients he has done this with. Allie’s simple lie turns him in to her biggest supporter and helper.

James is stunned stupid as how tenacious Allie is. She won’t blindly believe anything and begins to doubt himself for not coming clean with her right away. When the bullets start to fly, James calls in the Titan boys to save his butt and Allie’s.

I loved this story. The was a HUGE element of suspense throughout the entire story. It was a huge mystery of what happened and who was Allie REALLY!!?? You really had no clue who was a friend or a foe. Any fan of her Titan and Delta Forces readers will not be let down by this book. I just wish it was a full length novel vs a novella! I can’t get enough of those Titan men!

Mysterious Dr. James Tuska, how I’m so happy to finally meet you!  You’ve captured my interest from the very beginning in the Titan Series.  Cristin does a wonderful job of showing the world why Dr. Tuska is loved and admired by so many.  Dr. Tuska is captivated by Amnesia Allie since she uttered the word “fiancé”.  James is in a quandary between following orders or following his instinct.  Cristin’s storytelling abilities does not disappoint and the steady pace (sometimes much faster than I would have preferred but it’s has more to do with getting to the ending sooner), sweet and sexy scenes, and intrigue makes this book a delightful read.  It left you wanting to more. Good thing there’s more in the Titan World.    This rating really is a 4.5 stars.

I was so disappointed in this! Usually I don't have a problem with novellas. They still tell a story, its just short and condensed. It didn't work here though. The suspense elements that were added made no sense to me as the reader, I needed to be told the conclusion by characters. And then there wasn't even an 'ohhh' factor because none of it was ever meant for me as a reader to figure out.

The relationship between Allie and James was a little weird. He has to keep secrets from her and she knows but she still trusts him. And he knows not to mess with her but he still sorta does but not necessarily because he wants to, more that she ropes him in. I would have like it better if he was some past ex and her lie was really a truth he was hiding from her.

The epilogue was meh.

Nice to revisit the world of Titan

No plot spoilers
No potential triggers.
Some swearing and some sex scenes.
It's always good to visit old friends, even if it's fleeting.
It's a novella so the plotline has some holes in it that would have been addressed if the book was full length, there is quite a bit of skimming around the plotline with stuff happening off script but it still delivers a cast of strong characters with a decent storyline.
As a Titan fan I loved the novel because it gives me another glimpse into their world, plus, Dr Tuska. Have loved him for years and will admit to being a little disappointed he didn't get his own full length book.
The novella would work best if you have read the previous books in the Titan series.

Cristin Harber never fails to write stories that entertain, make you laugh out loud and enough action and romance to please everyone. Déjà Vu is no different. If you're a regular reader of the Titan series the name Doc Tuska will be familiar to you...I know I've been dying to get my hands on his story for a while....and it did not disappoint. I really empathised with Allie, and Doc? Well I ranged from swooning over him to wanting to punch him in the face and back to swooning again lol. Cristin is the queen of steamy sex scenes and she continues that reign in this book. It's Titan so characters you know and love are there.

For a novella, this one had a nice little arc to the story. There were only two spots with cut scenes and they were not too drastic. I really liked "Allie" and feel like you get some good quality time in her headspace. The relationship between her and James, although quick, is still fun and authentic. The Titan guys show up for a good while and there is a steady amount of danger and suspense, so I didn't feel cheated in that regard at all. The end of a novella will always be too soon, that's just the way they work. Clearly, this would have made a pretty great full length story but overall a good installment to the series.

A steamy, suspenseful and swoon-worthy masterpiece. As standard I knew that this was going to be a must read, and it failed to disappoint. This is going to be that book that you are constantly going back to. Whether you read it as a standalone or as part of the Team Titan series you are sure to love it. I say Team Titan because each book in the Titan World is a standalone that centres around Team Titan. The premise is ballsy and carryout is skillful bordering on flawless. Harber has pulled it out of the bag again and got me hook, line and sinker!

Intriguing and fast paced.

I am totally addicted to all the Titan books and have never had a bum read yet! Love the twisted plots, not knowing who can trust who and the heat filled sexual tension that scorches the pages. This read was no different. Though short and sweet it more than delivered.

Firstly that accident ! How did she only have head injuries and some bruises? Suspenseful with a fair bit of intrigue and there is a threat. A bit of action. All in all a gripping read and we get to see Beth in a different light as well as James. I am glad he got a story after all the help he has given through the other books. Enjoyed reading this.

A great novella!

This was a terrific story, and a great addition to the Titan series. I've always wondered about the good doctor, and loved that his story fit right in with the rest of the Titan group. It's certainly not a story that you'll want to miss!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
