Very good when it’s good. Slow and monotonous when it’s not. Often cliche. However, it’s also over 20 years old and interwoven with erotica, many of these characteristics can be explained away by that. This novel is really geared towards people much older than me who could appreciate the nostalgia of reliving a simple (but better) life in the 80s.

On a separate note, the fate concepts were interesting. I personally relate them to the Final Destination movies but it’s likely that this was simply a popular belief back then. In a really absurd way I see this as an awful erotic Final Destination fanfic. Rationally I get that it’s not but I really can’t relate to this in any other way.

A friend of mine recommended this author, whose stories can be read online at storiesonline.net so I thought I would check it out. I wasn't particularly impressed.

The book tells the story of a disillusioned 32 year old who magically finds himself 15 years old once again, with his skills and memories intact. He uses his adult knowledge to do things differently the second time around, but most of it I found it hard to credit. The book reads like an exercise in authorial wish fulfilment - the protagonist is able to talk down or humiliate anyone who opposes him and can seduce just about any female he wishes to. He aces all his exams and makes a lot of money on the stock market. A lot of the book is taken up with sex scenes, many of them quite graphic. I nearly gave up on it a few times, but persisted (with some skips) in order to see how it ended.

Not one I would recommend, nor am I likely to read anything else by this author.

This 'book' is probably one of the better Do-Over stories out there. That genre has always been a guilty pleasure of mine, but the quality of what's up for grabs is not always worth a mention. This one merits a mention.

I'm not going to lay out the plot, but the basic premise is the story of a 32 year old burned out and jaded paramedic that gets his wish to return to his 15 yo self with 32 years of memories intact. How does an adult handle the absurdity of reliving his teenage years and how will he use (and abuse) his additional 17 years of future knowledge? This book tells that tale.

It's a well worth read and I debated with myself of quite some time if I should give it 5 stars or the 4 that it eventually got. Let's say it's a solid 4,5 stars story.

One of the best do-over stories I've ever read.

Caution, plenty of sex.

Despite the sex, the plot and character development is very solid and very satisfying read.

This story follows a fantastic dream arc. I found it easy to put myself in my hero's shoes, going back to right all the wrongs...

quite the strong story about time paradoxes, the choices associated with travelling back in time and the consequences
