Okay, this was a fun, quick read. I wasn’t expecting much faith content so I didn’t plan on reviewing it on BFCG but there was a decent amount that I could have probably done an actual review.…buuuuut I’m not going to and just share a review like it was a clean fiction book on here instead because of time constraints. :)

I think this may be my first book where both of the main characters are famous, it was fun because they both understood the life of the other and didn’t get upset because of busy schedules.

I love how protective they both were of each other, especially him towards her. It was (mostly) so precious. Also, I need to just scream from the rooftops about him taking off his shirt and her not noticing his muscles or abs or sweaty smell or anything. Do you know how rare that is? In a contemporary book? Unheard of. I was actually prepared to eye-rolling over up coming noticing when that happen but her checking him out never happened. Color me shocked and impressed.

I was less than thrilled to be told that he had a girlfriend during this time of them reconnecting.
:( Both of them were obviously friends and not dating, but super familiar with the other so it was borderline okay to me. Because this may bother other readers as well, let me add that we find out a couple more chapters that he doesn’t have a girlfriend—just a clingy girl around him. He and the girl aren’t exclusive and says so, but I don’t know, I just don’t like that flippant view?? It lowered my opinion on him which stinks. We see a change in that view by the end, though, which I appreciate.

I don’t typically like the redeemed bad boy trope, but this author did it well because she didn’t linger and give details of the bad past actions, but gave enough to show the hurt and how the main characters have grown.

The ending was ridiculously dramatic and felt like a scene from a movie but I actually didn’t hate it. Some of the action and acting scenes were confusing and I had a hard time following what was going on, though. I wish the happy ending would have been a bit longer, but that’s my complaint with basically every book I enjoy.

This was just a randomly little free ebook I picked up some months ago and I had no expectations of it, but it turned out pretty good. I honestly don’t think I would continue on with the series, but this was an entertaining read and I really appreciate how clean it was.

(Does mention some characters from the author's other book "Sing for Me" and made me feel like I was jumping into the middle of a series.)

Main Content-

Kerri is a Christian and Nick is a newer Christian, we see their pastors (a male pastor and his wife who is also called a pastor) often and talking to them (but not really ever about God, just good moral-related things) (Nick calls it lecturing a few times, not completely kidding); Pastor Jay says that Nick and Kerri were toxic to each other because of them only relying on the other and not others--including Jesus (Nick says he'll keep Jesus between them now, then); Nick says a prayer about declaring God's favor around him (he's not sure where that is in the Bible, but Pastor Jay has prayed it over him before); Nick says that it used to bother him when Kerri would talk about God because he wanted her to come with him with her problems and to be her god, but now knows that he can't; A couple Scriptures are remembered and prayed; Prayers; 'H's are capital when referring to God.

Mentions of God & Jesus; Mentions of prayers & praying; Mentions of churches, church going, & mission trips; A few mentions of those & events in the Bible; A few mentions of someone saying that a couple's destiny is "written in the stars" (she doesn't believe in astrology); A mention of thinking someone works with the Satan.

The phrase "Thank God" is used often and while said by Christians, it sometimes comes across as flippant--same as when Kerri yells "Jesus!" when something suspenseful happens. (I'm personally split on some of them being sincere and some sounding flippant).

Prior to the book, Kerri and Nick were in a car accident that happened because they were partying and drinking (and he was using drugs), they both sustained injuries and haven't been in contact the past three years; Kerri says that the alcohol and partying was all her choice and does not hold it against Nick, but never took drugs (he did cocaine, but never tried to get her to do them); Kerri adds that she wanted to experience something other than film sets and church (and thus went to parties).

Kerri buys drugs ; Nick is tempted to have a drink at a party (since he's a recovering cocaine addict and not an alcoholic) but does not (meanwhile Kerri is having champagne and a side character has had a couple of drinks); Dealing with a stalker & anti-fans (Kerri, up to semi-detailed); Nick punches and fights with others to protect Kerri (up to semi-detailed); A car accident, being hit and knocked out, being kidnapped, fighting, being threatened with a gun, shooting others (kidnappers, non-fatal) & seeing someone shot and killed (up to semi-detailed).

Many mentions of drugs, drug abuse, drug dealers, alcohol, drinking, drunks, an overdoses, addictions, being sober, rehab, DUIs, & car accidents (barely-above-not-detailed); Mentions of fights/fighting, injuries, blood/bleeding, passing out, & someone strangling another (up to semi-detailed); Mentions of money laundering; Mentions of tattoos (including on a pastor and on Nick); Mentions of hatred & jealousy; Mentions of a mother having to be on medication for her depression (else wise she makes weird comments about places being bugged); A few mentions of seeing a chicken killed (up to semi-detailed).

No language stronger than 'idiot', 'stupid', 'gosh', 'screw up', and an unfinished 'what the--'; Sarcasm & Eye rolling; A handful of mentions of curses (said, not written, including by Nick); A mention of kicking butt; A couple mentions of something being "like hell" or feeling like you've gone "through hell".

Fingers to lips touches, an almost (semi-detailed) kiss, kisses on the cheek and forehead, a few barely-above-not-detailed kisses, and 7 semi-detailed kisses, ;
Touches, Embraces, Warmth, Hand holding, Smelling, Noticing, etc. (up to semi-detailed); Wanting to touch, embrace, & kiss (up to semi-detailed); While they bought a hideaway house when they were dating and still own it, it's never implied that they slept together; They sleep in the same house a few times during this book, but separately in different rooms; Nick takes off his shirt and jeans to go swimming in his boxers (in front of Kerri, but no sexual content/noticing happens; same when he takes off his shirt when sweaty); Nick is in a "not exclusive" relationship with another girl and has not problem kissing Kerri because of that (Kerri is not okay with that because "exclusive" is the only kind of relationship she wants); Kerri and Nick act like a couple that can't keep their hands off the other at a party to keep others from talking to them (messing up their hair & unbuttoning his shirt); .

Pastor Jay counseled Nick about his and Kerri's relationship, telling him that they were becoming toxic to each other; A few comments from Kerri's mom about her not being pretty if she gains muscles; Mentions of of cheating & when Nick cheated on Kerri (he says he was drunk and regretted it ever since; she's gotten over it); A few mentions of jealousy; A mention of suggestive shots by the paparazzi.

This was an enjoyable read. This is a Christian Romance Author that is new to me. It was about Kerri Adams an actress and Nick Evans, a professional singer, that have known each other since they were young. They are constantly having to deal with paparazzi, rumors, lies, fans, and fame and fortune. They also are growing up in the spotlight and of course making mistakes as lots of young people do. They ended up in a major automobile accident and it is determined that they need a break from one another. However with the help of counseling and their pastor, Pastor Jay and his wife Pastor Yvette, Kerri and Nick renew their relationship. The renewed relationship has its moments too. I enjoyed the pace of the story as it progressed to its conclusion. I also enjoyed the characters in the story as well and thought they were very well developed. I liked the fact that there was no profanity and no explicit sexual dialogue.

this book was just not for me. i’m glad that i got it free on kindle because if i’d spent any money on it i would have been annoyed with myself just because i really didn’t like it.

i thought the religion was just shoved in because there was nothing else that was special for the main characters. also, as it was a second chance after cheating which made me immediately hate both characters for getting back into this obviously toxic relationship.

some people may enjoy this but i didn’t.

trigger warnings:
- stalking
- kidnapping
- cheating
- death
- gun violence
( all i can think of google to find more)

this book is suitable for teens despite what was mentioned in trigger warnings

I really enjoyed the suspense in this story. I loved seeing how Nick changed & grew from who he was to who he became as he let GOD control his life. I liked the pastor who mentored Kerri & Nick & how they involved him in their lives. I liked the way Kerri was able to forgive Nick in spite of how he affected her life. And of course I liked the love story between Nick & Kerri.

This was a little confusing at first and was definitely all over the place. I liked the thought behind it though and it was a sweet relationship between Nick and Kerri. I’m not sure what Paster Jay was doing in almost every chapter but besides that everything was good and this was a nice quick read.

Good read

The book was a good read but it could improve. Needs more details, so much details were left out in the story. If it wasn't for that I would have given it a perfect rating.

Good story

There are many levels of this story: the old Nick, Kerri and her relationship with Nick, Eric and Stephanie and the many facets of each. Who Stephanie is and what she is requiring of Kerri is very complex. Very interesting story overall!

Clean Christain romance with some suspense. An actress and singer who were in love before their accident 3 years ago are reunited. Will they be able to renew their feelings? What could cause problems? Ever read a romance with stalkers, drug dealers, and kidnappers?

Good read

Enjoyed this book. Lots of action and references made to God. Loved that part of it. Enjoy the way she writes a romance novel without putting sex into it.

This book was average at best.
Nothing really exciting or captivating about the characters.
The story tried to get intense but it was just a bit of a miss.

Watch out

After an auto accident Kerri was sent to one hospital and Nick another and they lost touch with each other. Everyone told her he was trouble so she should stay away from him. Three years later, they meet again, the attraction is still there. When they get back together there's excitement ahead but it's not all good. They face danger and violence but they stick together through it all. Then there's a secret to be revealed. Good story!

A pleasantly surprising enjoyable read

When I started reading this story I didn't like very much but Iwas intrigued by Nick's character so I kept reading. It took a while for for the story to get really interesting but the suspense of what Kerri was hiding and what the outcome would be with Nick Kerri kept the story interesting. It took a while but more I read the better it got and I am glad I finished it as the ending was excitingly good.

To say that Trisha Grace has a few twists in this book is an understatement. I was well into the story before I figured out a major one. Her characters are interesting and the plot keeps you reading to find out what happens next. I enjoyed this book.

Very fun suspenseful romance with Hollywood actor and singer targeted for intrigue by DEA and a stalker, not to mention the paparazzi. In the meantime they strengthen their relationship...all in a day's work
