This book was really interesting, I'm not even a hairdresser or stylist but this book is absolutely fascinating. Its social history told through hairdressing and it is brilliantly insightful.

Its really quite funny in places too and such an eye opener about things like the frequency or complete lack of hair washing up until relatively recently. Can you imagine not washing your hair for three weeks just to keep your marcel wave tidy? No wonder vintage styles are hard to recreate.
